Hooray for Rico Rico Vegano! The taco tortillas are a stunning hot pink- I LOVE them. The vibrant colored food is so fun to eat. Not only is this food stunning to look at but it’s also incredibly delicious. Sometimes vegan restaurants can miss the mark on flavor but Rico Rico Vegano has nailed it. I could eat their cauliflower tacos every day! I met Rico (Ricardo) and he’s super friendly and wants to know what his customers think of the food. Just a great guy and a great restaurant. So happy about this new local spot!!! Bonus points: all their packaging is compostable!

Overall a solid choice for vegan Mexican food. Quality for some items not good. Last week had the sopes combo plate with vegan pollo, a carne asada 🌮 taco, a shrimp 🌮 taco, and a tinga shredded oyster mushroom 🌮 taco. Today tried the potato flautas, soy chorizo taco and mushroom hongos taco 🌮. Sopes - good, nice crispy texture on the outside, very filling Potato flautas - nice and crunchy, made with small flour tortillas, very filling - Pollo vegan chicken - bland, could use more seasoning - Shrimp camarones - breaded and fried, generous portion with three in one taco, bland and could use some seasoning - Tinga - good seasoning, but the oyster mushroom texture was rubbery and got stuck in my teeth; maybe a finer shred would be better. - Mushroom hongos - too salty, lacked spices/flavor otherwise - Soy chorizo - this was the worst filling. Most of it not bad, but there were some completely burned black inedible soy crumbles that tasted like rancid oil. They need to change the oil more often and not feed people the old burned bits. Red smoky salsa - good but strong and can overpower other flavors. Habanero salsa - better, spicy without overpowering other flavors Soup, vegetable - mostly potatoes, also carrots and corn 🌽, so bland Pitaya pink tortillas - thick and soft, break apart if not thoroughly cooked Watermelon radishes - very pretty, refreshing, but absorbed the smell of cleaning chemicals in the air, so they tasted bad. Napkins and paper bags absorbed cleaning chemical smell also, making them hard to tolerate.

Rico Rico Vegano was a much needed addition to this area! There aren't many good options on this side of the lake, so ever since their recent opening, this spot has been my go-to. Their pitaya/red dragonfruit tacos are delicious, beautiful, and so fun to eat. The best tacos here are the Taco De Hongo (mushroom), Taco De Carne Asada, and Taco De Soyrizo. I really like getting the 3 taco combo with a coconut horchata. You can also get the 3 tacos with rice and beans, soup, or salad. I tried their kid's quesadilla and grownup quesadilla, too. I really liked the kids one, but I'm basic for quesadillas.

New favourite vegan Mexican spot! Got a variety of gluten-free tacos and the Al Pastor burrito with Hibiscus and everything was so delicious! Generous portions and we loved the vegan cheese as well. I really liked that the ingredients were very fresh and it wasn’t like your typical processed mock meats. Will be back for sure

Warm and friendly, clean. LOVE that everything is vegan- (no worries about checking whether cheese and sauces are vegan). The homemade pink tortillas are fun, fresh and fluffy. The rice and refried beans were delicious- better than most nonvegan versions elsewhere. Mushroom tacos tasty but could use much less salt. Cauliflower tacos were good and filling. No seating indoors but it is okay to take your food around the corner to Rico Rico Tacos. Some nice outdoor tables though.

I really enjoyed it! I got 3 tacos: carne asada, hongo & carnitas. The tortillas were good, nice & soft like they were made fresh. All of the tacos were really tasty. I got a coconut horchata as well, went perfect with my tacos. I’m glad they opened up this spot, the lake needs more vegan spots in this area.

Delicious, beautiful, authentic, flavorful, colorful – AND VEGAN!! Near Grand Lake Theater. (And their original Lakeshore Rico Rico. And also by Vegan Mob – so maybe this can become a new "vegan ghetto"??) Gorgeous pink taco tortillas. I got Taco De Calabacitas (zucchini), Taco De Carne Asada (wheat protein-based), and Taco De Coliflor (fried cauliflower). I would rate my preference in the same order that I listed above. (The cauliflower one was delightful – I'm just not much of a "fried" enjoyer.) The "carne asada" was a really great meat substitute, and I much preferred the wheat protein solution over an Impossible/Beyond option. GO HERE NOW. We need to support amazing Bay Area vegan food! Note: there are only two tiny tables, so you'll need to order for pickup or have Toast deliver. (Although I bet Rico Rico around the corner will let you sit at their tables?)

The food here is unbelievable. Some of the best vegan tacos I have ever had. The food incredibly flavorful, the dragon fruit tortillas are super tasty, even if a little weird but the color. The service is really friendly and fast. I highly recommend checking this place out.

An amazing addition to the vegan options in the area. They have very tasty options, and their tortillas are pink 😍 the cauliflower tacos are so good you could almost think they're actual Baja fish tacos. The Al Pastor burrito was made out of hibiscus flowers and is totally amazing. Ingredients are super fresh and the flavours are authentic. Their staff is friendly and the space itself is really cute. We'll definitely be back soon!

This place is incredible!! Run, don’t walk for delicious, flavorful vegan Mexican food. I’ve been vegan 14 years and it’s some of the best I’ve tasted, right down to the salsas, sour cream and even the rice is delicious. The pics don’t do it justice. We had the potato flair as and a mushroom quesadilla and I could’ve cried with how good it was.

So happy they’re finally open! Was waiting for this once I saw the sign go up a few weeks ago. I love the OG Rico Rico, so came here with somewhat high expectations. Food - 10/10! Got the Soyrizo burrito with refried beans. Recommend adding hot sauce, but the soyrizo has a little bit of spice to begin with. Service - excellent! Thanks Ricardo for all of the information. Was told how each part was made for my burrito. Had a nice chat about their grand opening. Felt very welcoming :) Ambiance - quiet and small restaurant. If the weather were less cold today, I would have sat outside. Ordering - you can order with a person at the front, or use the self-help kiosk! I used the kiosk since it was so easy. Parking - I recommend parking for free in the Trader Joes parking lot a street away. Otherwise you can park on Lakeshore, make sure to pay for parking, they are very diligent about giving out tickets (I got ticketed once while I was paying for my spot). Will return! <3

So, this can be my new favorite spot. The food is seasoned to perfection. Rice and beans cooked yo perfection. The service could improve, but overall it was good. My first day trying it one of the staff did something that wasn’t the cleanest, but fixed it when I said something. This time a cup was dropped then picked up and put on the juicer drain instead of being thrown away, the chips were forgotten, and she didn’t get my sisters order right….but imma still support them. Also, try not to be in a frantic rush when people are ordering (for female cashier). I felt super rushed. This is probably why the order wasn’t right. Anyways The vegan chorizo tacos are my favorite so far. My sister loved her cauliflower tacos. The space is clean, but I’d definitely recommend following food service codes because some things can really get you flagged. Be well.

I LOVE their chicken tacos as well as their veggie tacos. Can't decide which one I like more! Sometimes the chicken isn't consistent, I've had a few times when it was overcooked but it's mostly great. And I love their veggie tacos so much because their beans and rice are AMAZING. But you can also get rice and beans on the side and try other flavors. I liked the chorizo and al pastor as well.

I recently dined at Rico Rico, a vegan restaurant, and overall, it was a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was truly delightful and fulfilled my cravings for delicious vegan options. The flavors were on point and left me feeling quite satisfied. However, I did encounter a few drawbacks during my visit. The server seemed a bit confused and mistakenly brought the wrong items to our table, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the seating situation was not ideal. There was no indoor seating available, and the outdoor seating area had only a handful of seats, making it quite scarce. This limited seating might be a concern during busy times or unfavorable weather conditions. Despite the slight hiccups with the service and seating, the fantastic food at Rico Rico might still be worth a visit for fellow vegan food enthusiasts. Just be prepared for potential seating challenges and double-check your order to avoid any confusion.
