Absolutely delicious! One of my favorite places to go to in Oakland. I took one star off because I was actually shocked there is a mandatory LIVING WAGE SURCHARGE of 5%! That’s right, aside from tipping (which the servers deserve) why am I the one who is forced to pay a living wage to their employees when it should be the businesses duty to pay their employees properly.

Homeroom was an amazing visit, and was exactly as described to me: a mac & cheese, lovers dream. You can make your own custom or you can try one of their specialties and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. We tried the truffle Mac and I made a custom tomato and hotdogs Mac. Both had incredible flavors. The truffle came through really well along with the cheese and the cheddar cheese Mac. That was the base for the custom I chose was awesome and the tomatoes added the perfect flavor and nostalgia I was looking for. Would recommend. We even finished with a brownie sundae that was pretty good, but the star of the show is the mac & cheese.

A mist-try restaurant in Bay Area! If you crave Mac & Cheese - it’s Homeroom or nowhere. Period. They have very courteous servers; delicious & creative recipes with high quality cheese - never disappoints.

What a fun place to have a satisfying meal! If you want Mac and Cheese, come here and your needs will be fulfilled. The portions are so big that you will need to take some home with you for... Future pleasure. The rich, sticky, cheesy sauce on the pasta was everything that hopes and dreams are made of. The staff are very friendly, very accommodating, and seem to be genuinely happy to be there. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, there was always someone waiting in line to be seated... It was a Sunday afternoon, not exactly a hot hour, but this was how much people wanted to eat here. I would definitely come here again if I'm ever back in Oakland, just to experience the magic one more time.

Wow. Pictured is the elote mac and cheese, done so well. It tasted exactly as I expected, a creamy corn mac and cheese, with the tanginess of the cotija cheese and lime. The flavors were awesome and it was served at the perfect temperature. I would add a point here just for their cool to-go containers. The portions and ambience make this a trek-worthy lunch spot. I am generally not a fan of plain mac and cheese but Homeroom just takes it to a different level by providing a variety of flavorful mac and cheese. My friends and I tried 4 different mac and cheese dishes and every single one of them was awesome. They have a wide selection of additional toppings. Also, fast and friendly service.

So good!! Came a few years ago and did not think it was worth the hype. Well, now in 2022 and it is definitely worth the hype. I loved the Elote Mac. I was also impressed with their system - open seating, order via QR code or at the counter, food comes to you, staff are quick to arrive with water when we first sat down outdoors. Such a great meal!

This was my first time coming to this place. A friend of mine recommended it and let me tell you I am not disappointed! Our server, Betty was amazing she had personality and had just the right amount of attentiveness to where we felt taken care of and given the appropriate space to enjoy our meal. The food itself was 10/10 definitely recommend. The service 100%. The atmosphere well I give a 4/5 only because the restaurant keeps the doors open making it pretty chilly inside. Everyone dining in kept their jackets on during their time dining. I will add it's November 10th so a little cold is expected. Over all though 4.9/5 I ended up ordering entries for my roommate and I to have for lunch tomorrow. It is really that good! Give it a go I bet you won't be disappointed, especially if Betty is there to make your evening. Thanks Betty!

I love Homeroom! The food and service are exceptional. Sam was our waiter and I cannot say enough to capture how kind and well treated my family and I were. Sam is the best, ask for them if you’re looking for reliable and friendly service. We loved the crab mac n cheese, elote corn, and brownies dessert! The strawberry limeade is delicious and I’m already craving the jalapeño popper mac n cheese. Serving sizes are big so come hungry or split!

I personally wanted to check this place out because it's one of the highest reviewed restaurants on Yelp! Overall, it's a fun restaurant that gets creative with Mac and Cheese. At the end of the day it's still just mac and cheese -- so don't expect anything mind blowing, but overall the restaurant does the dish justice by producing a consistent - not too cheesy (in terms of flavor - i don't like sharp cheddar) product. I really enjoyed the Truffle Mac and Cheese as the unami flavor of the mushroom complements the cheese in addition to the texture of the breadcrumbs. The Kogi Short Rib Mac and Cheese personally was very mediocre as the short rib was not sweet like Korean Short ribs should be, nor did the flavor really complement the mac and cheese, it was essentially just braised short rib meat on top of mac and cheese, which isn't necessarily bad but definitely feels a bit underwhelming considering it's marketed as the "most popular" dish. We also ordered cheddar biscuits/honey butter as appetizers which weren't bad but a bit pricy at 3.49 each. I recommend the place for people who like being adventurous with their food, but for the price and portion size is a bit smaller than I would have hoped - hence 4 instead of 5 stars.

This place is fire af! Amazing comfort food! Their Mac and cheese plates are fantastic, also save room for dessert as their peanut butter cake is fantastic. 😍 I'd say the only thing holding this place back is that they only have one bathroom, but it's very clean so I'll try not to judge them on that so harshly. I'm a fan of the buffalo Mac plate personally. Lots of flavor and very cheesy. I recently tried the pesto plate and it was fine 🫤, but I feel the buffalo plate has yet to be dethroned as my favorite.

Visited for the first time and will be back. Great selection on the menu even though it's all Mac and cheese. Had lots of add ons if you want to add some diversity to you meal. You must get the Oreos for dessert so good. Chatted a bit with manager and you can really tell what great management can do for a business. Keep up the work and the patrons will continue.

Homeroom is great!!! Loved the outdoor seating, super easy to order online, the food is amazing and the customer service is even better. Brought my friend who was visiting from Virginia and they were so kind to us. We’ve been raving about it, can’t wait to come back!!

Been going here for years. Good all year round, but the truffle mac is perfect for a rainy winter night. Either show up hungry or ready to bring home leftovers (which save well, don't worry!)

Came here after the game and it was good, albeit a bit pricey for mac and cheese. Waiter was friendly and they offer a QR code to show what they offer. I recommend trying this place, especially if you love mac and cheese.

I ordered PizzaMac and Gardin Pesto Mac. They were both very flavorful. Personally, I enjoy the pesto Mac more. I’m a big pesto fan so i was very satisfied. The plate size is good to share with another person. One would probably be a lot for one person.

Got the garlic mac with jalapeno. I didn't taste any of the garlic and it could use more salt but overall still pretty good. The homemade oreo was amazing

We all kinda know this is one of the biggest names in Oakland, so my expectations were set to... pretty high. And Homeroom did not disappoint! The restaurant hosts were amazing. Food are both extremely flavorful and presentable. There are so many attractive and provoking options on the menu. It definitely is asking for a returning visit in the future to try another round.

Ordered the truffle Mac and added bacon for delivery. Overall good flavor and BIG portions, enough food for a day and a half for me. I do wish they put more truffle oil though because the truffle flavor was very subtle and I’m assuming that’s why they priced this higher than the others with meat. Also came pretty cold, but that’s not their fault.

Oh my gosh this place is so good. I got the ranch with breadcrumbs and aged white cheddar mac and cheese. I also got the biscuit. The portions are huge so we had enough to take home. Will definitely be going back.

Okay tasting Mac n cheese. The portion seemed like too much. It’s what you would eat in two or three sittings. Definitely after a couple of bites in it seemed to make me feel sick almost like the ingredients were clashing against each other. Would I order from here again? Possibly and even then I would do so with some caution. Maybe a less wild Mac n cheese would taste better.
