This was my favorite park on this visit. The redwoods were magnificent! We did Sequoia Trail, which was well kept, easy to walk and offered great views of the Bay.

Lots of trails for different levels! Everytime I've been I find a new hangout spot or a new little view. You can find people take pregnancy photos or wedding photos...kids larping, bands practicing in the circle of big trees, people have little picnics....and still you can find yourself a secluded spot.

One of the best parks in Oakland. Great hiking trails surrounded by redwoods. Also has a great view of Oakland, San Francisco, and the bay at Lookout Point.

Dunne trail is my favorite trail that close to my house. A nice little trail that nice and quite when I need solitude. It can get a little crowded on fridays and the weekend. Plus it a off leashed trail for dogs which is a plus. The only thing I wish is that the trail be a little longer.

The Chabot Observatory does many events like evening hikes ending with beer/wine and snacks

I love Joaquin Miller park, there are so many great hiking trails and places to explore. As a photographer, it gives clients the options of redwoods with easy access. Also there are so many trails that it never feels crowded. (As a reminder to photographers, photo permits are required for East Bay regional parks and please always stay on the path!)

I Love how many trails there are to explore. What a magical place to be and to walk. The Sunset Trail was nice and easy, beautiful views and a lot of shady places to escape the heat. Looking forward to trying more trails 👣

Love this park for hiking in the shady redwoods! There's plenty of steep hills if you want a cardio workout. And some gentler trails that hug the sides of the hills. Lots of bikers, so be cautious! I love the bells someone set up for bikers to carry so hikers can hear them coming and scoot to the side. Beautiful spring wildflowers and the creek runs most of the year at the bottom of the park. Explore all the different parking areas to find interesting new trails - each one has a distinct feel. Kid and family friendly. Great for hiking, biking, and strolling.

A refuge from Urban craziness. Been hiking, walking here for 30 years. Daughter got married here, in the meadow. Favorite place to take my 7 year old grandson hiking. The meadow is a good place to fly kites. Dogs must be on leash. Some picnic tables are available throughout the park. There is a parking lot by the amphitheater or for the upper trails you can park along the road. Don't leave anything valuable in your cars!

Wanted a nice scenery for a lunch date with my sisters however, near the dog park is where we sat and saw out of 4 possible tables 3 were broken up. Not happy about location of trash can either.

Parking lots were full. Lots of signs along the streets stated "No Parking," which is why they only get 4 stars. The park was dog-friendly, great for hiking and clean. The individual picnic areas were well spaced, had lots of play space and plenty of trash and recycling bins. The bathroom was surprisingly clean and well stocked. The park's staff not only regularly emptied trash bins but also offered to load up and cart our caterer's equipment to the parking lot! Overall terrific experience.

Stunning park with lots of different trails. Plenty of parking. I only came across three people during my hike.

Joaquin Miller Park is a nice park for hiking or mountain biking. There are various areas to park with the upper parking areas being more popular since they offer easier access to more trails. The scenery is nice in the park and is primarily Redwood trees with a mix of flatter and steeper trails. Plenty of trails loop into each other so you can hike as much or as little as you want and create your own loops.

Great place to feel like you're out of the bay.. quiet, tranquil and not too congested ( if you go early). Great views and exciting trails that all connect. The hiking maps are on a downloadable map so you cant get lost!

A friend and I went in this hike. I like in Hayward and this was only a short car ride away. The hiking trails were well maintained and extensive. I particularly loved seeing bunch of wild berries growing underneath the oak trees. 😋

Great selection of activities for kids 4 and 7. Cafeteria only sells heated burritos so it's a good idea to bring your lunch

Love this park! Lots of beautiful views and trails to explore. I would love to see the City of Oakland put more money and effort into preserving it and making it a destination point as it was meant to be.

This park has potential. There are 2 large pools that are just sitting there-- waiting to be filled. Volunteers come to take care of plants. There are picnic tables and a place to barbeque. When I was there was an area where brush was being cleared.

We only tried one of the trails but it was very shady and a nice experience! It was cool to see all the mountain bikers there as well!

This is an outdoor venue led by a core group of folks with a lot of passion for giving high quality theater at affordable prices. Harriet, who is the matriarch of the place, is an outstanding person who goes out of her way to make sure everyone has a great experience. They are nestled in a park so guests often come early and can eat in the park, at one of their assigned picnic tables (for a small fee) and then enjoy the show. It can get cold so we always dress extra warm (like it was the middle of winter).
