Firstly I would like to say that the bad reviews are 100% true. I should have read the reviews before coming to this salon. Instead, I like many others, was misled by the gorgeous designs on their IG page. My hair cost me $800. When I asked why it’s so expensive, Natalia told me that’s because DIANA HAS 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE. So either Diana needs to be doing everyone’s hair, or Diana needs to hire competent stylists with years of experience that match her own. I’m extremely disappointed with my service at Vivid Hair. I waited for months for my appointment only to have my hair look like I am overdue for a root touch up. I’ve never regretted getting my hair done until this day. My local salon across the street would have done a much better job, my old stylist would have done my highlights much better than this salon. But I came here thinking that they have a unique technique and will do my hair much better than anyone in Toronto. However, what I received was a sloppy, uneven, messy, ugly and utterly disappointing look. Is this the new technique that everyone is talking about? Is sloppy messy highlights the new look? What am I missing here? I am so embarrassed of my hair that I need to curl it up before I go anywhere so it hides the imperfections. I will let the photos do the talking. The service was horrific but I am going to skip that part, because the other reviews are very accurate and you can read them to get an idea of what to expect service-wise. I didn’t come there to chit chat with my stylist so I will let that one slide. At the end, Natalia didn’t even bother to style my hair. I asked, does the price include styling? She said yes it does but you are in a rush so I didn’t style it. Maybe the right approach is to ASK ME if I want my hair styled or not. Again, I would have let that slide if my hair looked at least half decent. Diana, does my hair look like something you would be OK with?

I love my hair so much. Diana and the team were very professional and gave me a thorough consultation before started working on my hair. I wanted to do blond but because of the hair nature which is very thin and damaged. Diana gave me an expectation of the result. Everyone here is so lovely and fun. They all have well-trained experiences and knowledge. My hair was actually soft and felt healthier after. I highly recommend Diana and her team if you truly want a professional to take care of your hair.

Natalia was amazing. She gave me exactly what I wanted and I am really pleased with her work as much as I am with her professionalism. She really knows her craft to her heart. Honestly, it turned out better than what I had hoped for. She really listened to me but also made recommendations based on what she thinks is best for me. She is the artist and I trusted her with my heart. I highly recommend her! The salon in general is also very welcoming. Gabby consulted with me on the extensions and answered all of my questions truthfully. She was also so sweet. The receptionist was also so welcoming, sweet and kind. Where to begin! I think this is going to be the longest review I’ve ever written, but Diana and her team are absolutely fantastic and deserve the detail! I don’t think I’ve ever left a hair appointment as happy as I did today. I had two appointments within 5 days. 1st appointment was balayage with Diana and a cut with Gabby. 2nd appointment was a two row extension installation by Lora and extension cut/blend with Joudy. All four women are absolute gems! I’m genuinely surprised to see some of the negative reviews on here so wanted to give a detailed snapshot of my experience at Vivid for anyone wanting to give them a try! The biggest tip I can give prior to your appointment is that when you are looking for hair inspiration go to your desired stylist insta page and screen shot hair colour/methods you like that the stylist has done that MATCH YOUR COLOURING. Choosing a random picture off of Pinterest with different hair texture or colouring method that has a filter on it isn’t exactly fair to your stylist and is just going to leave you disappointed. I went to Di with four to five inspiration pics of her past work and asked if it was doable with the current canvas she has to work with (meaning my hair). She was completely honest and said yes but by the second appointment it would be more her method, and that she had to slightly raise and bring up the colour more than I wanted to enable a beautiful grow out until my next balayage appointment (which would be in 5 months). Let me be very clear and say she did not disappoint, she absolutely KILLED it with my colour!!!! She gave me the dimension I was looking for and blew my expectations out of the water. I’ve never been happier and was smiling ear to ear🥺 Side note: I read some reviews that state when she’s applying the bleach/colour it’s a little rough, which is technically true, but I think that has to do with her technique rather than her not caring. She is the queen of balayage and that technique does require some back combing, so if that’s a concern I will say that my scalp is extra sensitive and she noticed I winced when she got to my top sections and immediately asked if I was okay. It’s obvious she cares about her clients and wants them to be comfortable. The phrase “let the painter paint” immediately comes to mind. She has twenty years of experience trust her to do what is best for the results you want that are realistically achievable for your hair and you will be so happy you did… I promise! Gabby did my cut on my natural hair to keep it healthy and prep it for my hair extension install the following Wednesday(today). She is so freaking sweet and bubbly; a true girls girl who wants you to look and feel your best. She helped colour match the extensions and left me feeling amazing despite feeling naked without my extensions haha. Her energy is honestly very special. Flash forward 5 days later to my extension install. Lora is amazing she has an incredible attention to detail and is really easy to converse with. She really took her time with the row placements and made sure I was happy with their location and asked how I generally wear my hair so that she could ensure the tracks wouldn’t show. She also went above and beyond to make sure the poppy pieces in the front were “dramatique” as per my request 🤣. This appointment was around seven hours and it honestly flew by. Joudy cut and blended my extensions and she is such a sweetheart. She takes her craft seriously as she was meticulous with her cuts and was so sweet and took the time to teach me how to curl my hair and extensions with their signature beach’s waves. She also has the most captivating eyes and a really calm and sincere energy about her. She’s also the first hair stylist who asked how I generally style my extensions so that she could cut them the best for that style method! Overall 10/10 experience at Vivid. She ain’t cheap but remember neither are you 😉♥️

If you’re looking for “THE Haircut” look no further. I found Chris on social media after a year and a half of hesitating to cut my hair, and it was the best decision I made. He is incredibly skilled at his work, taking the reins on your hair, yet still making you feel in control of your appointment at the same time. He listened to what I wanted, and also what my day to day needs were, to create cut that felt fabulous while still keeping my hair maintenance low. Not only that, but he’s a gem to get to know, and made my day a little bit brighter! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an extraordinary haircut, and wanting to make a change with their hair in safe hands!

I saw Chris for a haircut. I came in with a bit of a disaster between two previous cuts. He managed to work around the mess and give me a nice sleek style. I got three compliments within the first hour after leaving. Feels like such a relief to find someone who listens and understands what I want. The whole experience was great. The salon is relaxed and the environment is great. Can’t wait to go back!

I had gone to DV colour for the first time around last year (January 2023) hoping to get done a blonde balayage. I had Natalie and she was just incredible! She asked me for what I wanted in the balayage and gave me feedback and tips on how to take care of it which I found very difficult to find in a salon and individual when coming to the needs of my hair. The end results came beautiful and till this day a year later, i still yet receive so many compliments! My experience with DV color was absolutely incredible and I hope to be back and book an appointment with them again soon!

I went to get my hair cut at Vivid salon by Julia last week. It was such a great experience. Julia listened to what I wanted and boy did she deliver. I absolutely love how my hair turned out. I feel beautiful with my new haircut and have received so many compliments. I highly recommend Vivid Salon and of course Julia.

After a not so good colour experience at another salon, I reached out to Vivid and they were able to accommodate me the very next day. My colourist was Liz and she was so great. She is very knowledgeable and corrected the colour that was currently in my hair and explained the process of how I can get to the look I want to achieve. She made some great product recommendations and I am happy to have finally found someone that specializes in colour and balayage. Thank you Liz!! Photo is before and after.
