My husband and I decided to check out Gio Rana’s as we live nearby and we’re curious about the giant nose. We were overall quite pleased. The food was so good and beautifully presented. I had ordered a small salad (Brussels sprouts slaw from the Contorni part of the menu) and as it had arrived after the pasta (I ordered pappardelle), it was extremely filling. I wish they’d brought the salad before the pasta, but it came much later. Oh well… the food was filling so it was fair in terms of price value. Serving time was a bit slower, though business started to pick up after we arrived. We noticed that people who arrived 20 minutes after us were getting more attention and faster service than we were. The outdoor dining was also not the best experience. Space is fairly cramped in Leslieville in general, and we were seated on the roadside between pedestrians and buses and cars. I would recommend indoor dining instead or eating on the other side of the sidewalk.

Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. Minus 1 star for not having a single vegan pasta option and also not allowing any substitutions. One of our friends had a hard time finding anything that was dairy-free, and although the server was excellent in trying to find out the ingredients in the dishes, the end result was a lackluster spaghetti aglio e olio with raw chili peppers (?). Everything else we ordered was fantastic. Negroni was top notch, espresso martinis tasted like boozy iced cappuccinos 👌 and the Tom Selleck tasted like a vacation 🍹

My landlord recommended this restaurant to me and it did not disappoint! Everything was packaged nicely and arrived warm. Food was tasty, hopefully I can dine in at some point after the lockdown.

Delicious pasta, one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve tried. I took my friends here and they all loved the food. We tried the spicy pesto rigatoni, veggie lasagna, and seafood pasta. We also had the arancini balls for appetizers. It was all delicious and addicting. I couldn’t stop eating my lasagna even though I was full. Service was also great, she kept coming by to ask how the food was and was very attentive. Hard to find the restaurant, look for the giant nose lol.

The food was filling. The Risotto balls and the Pappardelle were delicious. I did not like the seafood dish, it was too salty. The price for everything including 2 alcoholic drinks, dessert and tax was $99. Not a bad time. The decor was older for sure but not too ancient. The staff were friendly.

I ordered takeout on Uber eats for dinner. Very reasonable price, kind service, efficient, fast, ready a bit early and helped with the tech. The food was hot and tasty yet simple for a vegetarian order. I managed to drop my food on the street while riding my bike and the packaging didn't explode so +1 for the packaging! So it's a bit disheveled in the photo. Try this place out with the nose at the top!

Amazing food and experience! I’m so glad we randomly came across Gio Rana’s Really Really Nice Restaurant and decided to enter; I have to say, the giant nose really intrigued us. I highly recommend their Braised Veal Ossobuco paired with the Tagliatelle (mushrooms, cream, roasted walnuts, and thyme) pasta.

amazing! we got the octopus antipasti, mushroom papardelle, and osso buco.. you need to get the papardelle, the sauce (cremini mushroom, crema, toasted walnuts, thyme) is just *chefs kiss* . I think they might change around the pasta the pair with the sauce, but definitely get this 1000% I don't even like eating mushrooms

Wowzerz!!! This place should be rated higher than a 4.7. The attention to detail to every dish is astonishing. The meal all was delicate, soft, smooth, melted in my mouth. The ravioli with the sauce was to die for. And their pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly to my liking. Not overly expensive for the quality that you receive. And the service was some of the best I’ve had in recent memory

Came with a group of 4 on a Thursday night and everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. There wasn't a single dish we did not enjoy. Highly recommend.

Finally got to try Gios and I was really impressed! The food was delicious and I loved the ambience of the restaurant (unpretentious, just the way I like it). Prices were decent too! My ranking of the food we ordered: 1) Crespelle: this was super unique and was like a hybrid between a crepe and a ravioli. The pasta was perfectly al dente and buttery, and the butter sage sauce paired with the squash filling made everything come together sooo well. A very umami and satisfying dish for the taste buds! 2) zucchine pasta: this had a slightly sweet flavour which was pleasantly different. I also enjoyed the pairing of pistachio 3) focaccia: we ordered two loaves… do I need to say nore?😂 4) Pappardelle: let’s just say all the pastas were peroal dente. And you can’t go wring with a good pappardelle! This was creamy and rich. 5) Burrata: can’t go wrong with a good burrata, especially when paired with such a delicious red pesto Looking forward to going back here, it’s now on my list of go-to’s🙈

This place is a must visit in Leslieville if you are a fan of Italian food. Excellent service. They don't take reservations (unless you are a larger group). The place gets busy for dinner so come early to guarantee a seat especially if the patio isn't open due to weather. We had a few drinks each. Shared our mains. All the food was excellent. We had the risotto balls, fries, broccolinni along with the osso buco and involitini.

I was recommended this restaurant by multiple people, so I finally decided to try it. Overall, it’s a great place. The ambiance is on point, the food is delicious. We got there around 6pm and waited about 30 mins for a table. The restaurant is a bit crowded inside with all the tables, not a lot of room to get out comfortably if you’re sitting on the inside. The only reason for the one start deduction was due to service. It was a bit all over the place and didn’t feel like we were taken care of. I would definitely return to try other items off the menu. I would hope they would have a pasta special.

Very fun and comfortable Italian dining setting. The risotto balls and pappardelle were very delicious. The lamb ragu was decent where the meat was delicious but the pasta was bland. The service was great, definitely a go-to spot in Leslieville if you're craving Italian. Pricing was fair for what we ordered including the wine 🍷.

This restaurant's name is totally justified, it sure is Really Really Nice!! Had an amazing time here, the ambience was amazing and service was excellent! All the dishes including the dessert were fresh and the balance of flavors was on point. Highly recommend this place.

A bit loud and dark, but food and service was on point. The food is delicious. One of the better authentic Italian restaurants in the city. Fresh and tender squid as it should be. The seafood pasta was really good. Loved the Arincini.

Great restaurant 5 stars Food - quality was great, fresh ingredients and cooked with care. The 3 items we tried were a seafood pasta, a seafood appetizer and their mushroom pasta. They were all very satisfying. Price - very reasonable. I never felt price gouged reading any of the items in the menu, very fair pricing. This one's important considering some Toronto restaurants will charge $30+ for pasta dishes without any protein included. Atmosphere - artsy and stimulating, many pictures, lights and decorative pieces to look at with a dimmed atmosphere. Nice for a date or chat with close friends and family. Will definitely return and compliments to all the staff who work there for contributing to a great night

Gio’s (or the Nose) is one of the best Italian restaurants in Toronto! I always get the Butternut Squash-stuffed Crespelle, which is literally heaven on a plate. I also get the Tuscan Fries (which are also delicious) as a side, to help me catch all of the delectable sauce in the crespelle! The atmosphere is hip-happening (although it is very loud, fore-warning; they do blast music!). The service has always been great and the servers are very accommodating and understanding. It gets busy very quickly however, and there is usually a line after 7:00pm! This place is great for taking your date out, or some close friends. It’s a bit pricey, but very worth it! Highly recommend!

First time dining here. This place was recommended by a friend who used to li e in the area. We came here on a Tuesday night and sat on the patio for a lovely meal. Friendly and prompt service, tasty and reasonably priced food. Definitely will be back to try other menu items.

We went NYE, they had a special menu for the evening. An insane amount of food. By the time the main course came, we were full. But did not let that stop us. Burrata and prosciutto, giant meatball, and tuscan fries were my favourites. I was disappointed in the “fresh” focaccia bread. I was expecting it to be hot and fresh with olive oil/vinaigrette to dip it in… no dipping…😭 Found the pulled pork dry and lacked seasoning. The ribeye that wrapped it saved it along with the red wine jus. Would definitely come back to try their regular menu. Thank you Gio

Highly recommend this place! The perfect combination of food-drink and the vibe, the music and people are pretty awesome. Best plate I would order every single time is Braised Veal Ossobuco and Tiramisu for dessert! Excellent services! Reservation preferred as it gets really busy after 7PM.

Fantastic Italian Food!!! Bravo!!! The service, food and atmosphere were in total harmony! Such a wonderful night we spent - eating, drinking, laughing and taking many photos of our dishes! Started with Italian Beer - Peroni (light crisp) & Birra Mortetti (dark & tasty) Later for dinner we shared a bottle of white - i cant recall which one it was but it went well with my dinner! Decided to share 2 mains: Butternut Squash Crespelle *pasta made in house* & Seafood Cartoccio & the House Made Foccacia The crespelle sage butter sauce was so good - I cleaned that plate up!! The Cartoccio was so lovely, all the seafood was cooked just right! I used the bread to mop up the delicious sauce/juices! The restaurant was busy and we had an early reservation so we ordered dessert to go - my friend told me the next day - it was unbelievable! This restaurant is on the higher end of places I frequent, but for a splurge on a birthday! It was perfect! Love love love - Gio Rana's Really REALLY Nice Italian Restaurant!! Follow the nose!! <3

I came here for dinner with my sister the other day and we were so lucky to get seated right away and it was busy! You can't make reservations for parties under 6 so we arrived at the perfect time. Our server Jen was amazing!! She was super friendly and let us know about the night's specials and gave us all of her recommendations. We ordered everything that she suggested and the food was amazing! The items on the menu unique from other Italian restaurants and everything was so delicious! I'm so glad we tried it and I will definitely be back! Highly recommended!!
