Please everyone after they reopened i found a beautiful feather down duvet fir 21.00 which is amazing and I was thrilled... until I left the blanket in my back seat of my car and did some other errands. When I came back to my car I saw half a dozen bugs crawling and when I took a closer look I was horrified to see they looked like fully fed big fat BED BUGS.... I THREW UT AWAY IMMEDIATELY...NO 200.00 BLANKET IS WORTH BED BUGS EVEN FOR 20 BUCKS. Go crazy have fun at Value Village but stay away from large textiles. Clothes are easily washable and I think much safer. But pillows curtains and blankets beware

No idea who prices the items here. There is inflation and then there is just ridiculousness. For a shrunken sweater with a poorly patched hole is $31?!? As if this were a high end consignment store? No thank you. The prices at this location specifically were just unreasonable and everything was overpriced compared to many other value villages in the city.

Found some good deals when we visited. Like how we got a brand new 1000 piece puzzle for $6. The store was fairly clean and organized. You would be surprised at how many new things you can find at this place!

Value Village has become insanely overpriced in recent years. I understand the cost of inflation but when I go to Plato's Closet I'm able to find much higher quality items at a fraction of the cost. I refuse to purchase clothing from this location based on that. However, there is often a very nice selection of houseware items. Some can be priced to be a little much but I often find things complete worth the value.

First time at the location and pretty large store. I wasn't able to find the donation center, but I believe it was in the back. Always a fun store to go thrifting!

I've been trying to get to this location for awhile and was super excited when I found some extra time today to stop in. Pros: well organized and very tidy - easy to shop, excellent selection -lots of gently used items, name brands galore, and tons of useful household items. Cons (and the reason for the 1 star rating): poor customer service. I stood at the jewellery showcase for over 30 minutes, not 1 associate acknowledged my presence. I recognized that staffing was light and as a result was more than willing to patiently wait to take a closer look at a few items. There were 2 employees at the self check out which is located not too far from the jewellery counter, 1 appeared to be management. The self checkout was not busy so I was a little confused as to why 2 associates were assisting but either way I figured at some point I would be helped. At the 10 minute mark I was finally able to make eye contact with the "manager", gave her a smile, did a little wave and pointed to at the showcase. I know she saw me because our eyes locked, I thought ok good I'm sure she'll page someone to assist. Another 15 minutes goes by and still nothing, then the "manager" gestures to the associate to leave and directs her to clothing racks to tidy up - the manager looks at me again. Finally I was so frustrated I approached the "manager" and she basically ignored me until I spoke. No apology. All she said was that she didn't see me standing at the jewellery counter. Really?! 30+ minutes?! You are really going to pretend we didn't make eye contact?! I just left disappointed and shocked.

What happened to you? You used to be cool! Second hand tank tops are $10? That's more then they are at the mall. The prices of clothes have doubled in the last couple of years. The change rooms have been removed. It's self check out only??!! So we have to pay double AND suffer the problematic self check outs. Never again. When I have a full cart and small kids with me, I just want to pay for my stuff and go! I don't want to train as an employee while my toddler is crying. I do not recommend this location.

Found some great stuff here over the years. Anything from puzzles, model kits, suits, blazers, ties, and electronics can all be found for a pretty decent price. Although I wouldn't recommend this store to everyone, definitely give it a visit once in a while to see what you can find.

Large selection of clothes! Some of the dress pants looked almost new. Not as well organized as some of the other locations I've been to. No change rooms (lots of mirrors around the store though, 14 day return policy with original tags). Self-checkout available. Bring your own bag or purchase their reusable ones.

Id love it if these places would lower the prices to clear stock, as theres so much on the racks and so much more coming in. Regardless with patience and time I usually manage to find a treasure or two. Prices are reasonable considering cost of new these days. Always fun to go thrift here. Take advantage of the drop off of goods and get coupon for 20% of your purchase too.

The worst job I have ever had .I worked as a recycler at Woodbine Downs Blvd location, Etobicoke. Very unsafe place. The Store Manager Ravi or whatever his name is incompetent and not a decent man. He has poor leadership skill. He doesn't know how to run the store and doesn't care about the staff's safety as well. He only care for him self, very selfish man thinking for his own benefit. But still working as a Store Manager! Value Village should reconsider giving him in high position. Because of him people are quitting is not to be ignored! He will give favoritism around the staff who beautiful or his fellow Indians only and make other staff's day miserable. Favoritism is extremely high. He should resign from his position. He treated good to all his fellow Indians and treat other nationalities bad or make problems, so people are quitting, not because of company but because of him.. Some staff quit even they are facing financial problems during that time because can't stand him anymore. If he keeps doing like this to people soon he will see trouble, Karma will serve him. That man owe a lot of apologies to the staffs he made them quit! The store is so dirty and smelly. You will be surrounded by thieves. Most of the staff are stealing as well. You will get terrible experience with his team. Value Village is not somewhere I would recommend to work at!

You can find some interesting and nice things at Value Village. They used to and still do offer discounts compared to some other stores. They are a favourite store of mine, and I love thrifting. However, some items are extremely high priced. I know that they are for profit, but still.. An example is seeing the original price tag still on an item, and they are selling it for more than that. This may be because thrifting is gaining popularity, and they can charge this high.

I like shopping at VV but I don't like the Diabetes Association that it's funds go to support. If they were a creditable organization they would be honest and say that we have already known the cure for diabetics for years, decades, even over a hundred years but it is the most profitable disease. Go carbohydrate free and eat plenty of protein. Diabetes is a scam for profit through research, drugs and devices.

Last year I would have gone for 5 stars but I have found that that this particular location has declined, especially the book area, which was once a high point for me. Still I always enjoy the thrift store hunt and Value Village consistently delivers quality second hand goods for reasonable prices.

This store offers a great community service by accepting donations of used goods. If not for this, many serviceable items would end up in landfills. The shelves of items have been nice and tidy lately.

For a Value Village, it's okay. The organization is very poor at this location, things are everywhere, sizes are mixed up. There is a great show selection and overall lots of clothes and variety. However, prices on some things make no sense at all, way over priced on no name clothes or have stains/rips. Who is coming up with these prices!? Get it together.

The store is big and spacious and items are priced and well displayed. You can donate your lightly used stuff and receive a discount coupon to make purchases. I love browsing through the book section. I have found some nice treasures there!

Good, friendly people, This particular store was clean and bright. I bought two paintings for $30 each that should have been no more than $20 each. I will say that each value village I have visited is really OVERPRICED on almost every single item. I can get brand new, exact products at Walmart for cheaper than Value Village. USED children's toys like Marvel Figures, for instance, are priced at $4.99, which should be no more than $2 each for kids. Whoever prices these items is greedy and needs to reevaluate their pricing. I looked at a BUG ZAPPER recently priced at $9.99 At this location, I plugged it in, it didn't even work. Not only that, I could buy a brand new one at Walmart for the same price. SADLY, the people who own these value villages are just greedy, considering everything is donated for FREE!!! Where is the VALUE????? Thanks for the opportunity to voice my opinion. I'm sure many others agree with me.

Got a few nice deals but I guess the options available were really less. Quality needs to be improved a bit. Overall nice

This is a prime example of corporate greed. Your self checkout is a joke and just pathetic. The amount of time wasted by customers waiting to check themselves out is appalling. The staff are useless as are the managers. If you have a problem at the self checkout, be prepared to wait a while. Do not waste your time here.

This store is one of the worst places for buying things. The price on tags some time are more than the brand new ones. Staff usually swear in their own wisps.

  • 3/5 Afshan S. 10 months ago on Google
Prices have gone up from last few years, some items for example glassware of any shape or design, are not even worth buying from them, some items are cheaper at Homesense, it is still fun to look around and treasure hunt.

My girlfriend always drags me out here while she looks for nick nacks. She really doesn't need to keep buying random stuff but it makes her happy and the prices here are real cheap.

Value Village in Richmond Hill is a thrift store that offers a delightful shopping experience. Not only does it provide a wide range of items, including clothing, home decor, and collectibles, but it also supports nonprofit organizations and promotes waste reduction through recycling. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the shopping experience enjoyable. With affordable prices and a clean, well-organized store, Value Village in Richmond Hill is a must-visit for those seeking thrifty treasures while making a positive impact on the community.

Dropped off a bunch of kids clothes and toys. Got a voucher and thought we'd pop in to see if there was anything we might need. Found lots of great items (clothes, jackets, ...), several of which looked brand new. Got great deals on all of them.

I've been going for 10's of years, staff is great. Most likely buy big items on Tuesdays as prices are geeting too high for average/ damaged clothing.

One of my local (and regular) thrift shops. Prices have definitely increased significantly over the past year-and-a-half, which makes me second-guess a lot of my purchases (which may be a good thing!). Staff can be a little rough with the merchandise at times (I hear glass breaking at least 2 times each visit), and you really have to sift through the clothing. However, I do LOVE thrifting, and am usually able to find some gems throughout all of the sections! In fact, I've decorated most of my apartment with finds from here! I will continue to frequent this location as it is nearby, as well as take my friends and family who enjoy thrifting to this location. I just hope that prices don't continue to increase!!

Overall a good place worth visiting, they have a huge selection of vinyl records which I was amazed by. Lots of clothing although it's very messy and disorganized. The electronics section is big but most of the items are either not working or fully outdated. The staff is very nice and helpful tho

Good selection of different things! I bought a lot, but when I came home I realized some clothes was stained and ripped and outside lighting didn’t work. I came back next day and they were able to exchange them for me. Surprisingly, I was able to find same items but clean and in excellent working condition!

Expensive, and no money goes back to the community. I encourage people not to donate to this organization, it's great to give to the salvation army because with the salvation army the money goes back into the community to help no so fortunately people.

You can find lots of stuff s with a very good deal.

  • 1/5 Y B. 1 year ago on Google
They’ve changed everything over to self check out. The lines are very long and slow since majority of the people using them have great difficulty with it. There is no actual cashier to cash you out or deal with customer service issues you may have. If you need help with an exchange, you’re pretty much on your own until you can get the attention of the one person supervising the self check out. They’ll have to do actually do the exchange for you, but no one tells you that from the beginning. Very inattentive staff, lousy self check out process and no cashiers. That was a terrible shopping experience at VV and I gotta say, I’ll steer clear of any and all locations that have this self check out experience in the future.

  • 5/5 Andrew S. 1 year ago on Google
Great selection of books, huge wall of DVDs, and featuring the new self-serve checkout. Be sure to look out for $2 off coupons that print out at the top of receipts occasionally; a 3-minute survey is more than worth it to save on already low prices for the wonderful treasures you find at Value Village!

  • 5/5 Adel M. 1 year ago on Google
My sister buys from this location and I donate. Experience on both the buying and donating sides are excellent. They usually have a good variety of used clothing featuring big name brands. They also give good coupons to people who are donating. This is a good Value Village location!

  • 3/5 Dharmvishal B. 2 years ago on Google
It used to be good before and still sometimes you may find great vintage items. Therefore, I am giving 3 stars. However, recently they have started carrying a lot of broken items, so check twice and buy carefully, as they have a no return policy on most of the goods. Plus the prices at this store, my gosh! How do they justify their thrift store pricing of used products, when you can get the same (not similar) item from outlet or a mall for approximately 20-30% less brand new? Compared to other value village stores such as Markham per se, the prices here are super inflated. They really need to go back to canvas to reconsider their valuation of the goods that they receive for free in donation from people. They are not Salvation Army thrift store, so there is nothing wrong for them to make some profit; but come on...

  • 3/5 katt K. 1 year ago on Google
This value village has a very large variety of awesome donations and good finds. I rated three stars because I've been in Plato's closet and find the prices there are almost better. I never expected to find dresses in a value village with a $20 price tag on it.

  • 2/5 b d. 2 years ago on Google
I've always noticed that their prices were higher than other used-item stores but it seems that it's a little bit higher lately. Maybe what is being reported in the news media is true about their prices or maybe I'm just paying more attention to it because of the articles I've read. It is important to note that Value Village is a for-profit organization. This store is well organized and the prices are clearly marked. They have self service pay terminals which is convenient. Plenty of parking as it is located in a strip plaza near Elgin Mills and Yonge, in Richmond Hill.
