Fantastic evening at this pop-up kitchen! The food was amazing, and the chef took his time explaining everything about the ingredients and origins of the dishes. We also participated in a craft collage workshop with a local artist (Amsa Yaro). All in all a very original and different evening with superb food. Highly recommended!

This was by far the best food experience I’ve had in London. We did the 7 course blind tasting with an awesome variety of flavours and textures to experience with a wine pairing. The food was not only delicious but the food presentation was on point and the team presenting the meal did an excellent job of explaining the core elements of each course and why they were selected.

Amazing opportunity to share an evening with colleagues and new friends. Not only was the service top notch but the staff was very accommodating and patient regarding reserving for the supper club event. One of the BEST culinary experiences in London, ON right now. Our group looks forward to both spreading the word about this hidden gem as well as continuing to frequent it. A must for anyone who loves food and the stories behind it.

Always an experience! If you haven't attended the supper club, you do not know what you are missing. Stories and food. Can't get any better with your local griot telling you how things are made.. do yourself favor and go. Totally worth it. Colette

London's best dinner option, hands down! The dining experience is truly exceptional - all you need to do is show up and let the welcoming staff take care of you. Did the blind tasting menu and was completely blown away by the incredible flavors and innovative dishes. It's clear that the chefs take risks and they absolutely pay off. The awards this restaurant has earned are well-deserved. From start to finish, the meal was an unforgettable experience that you will want to share with family & friends. The outstanding food make this restaurant a must-visit for locals and visitors alike. Reservations ahead are required.

An amazing evening enjoying the 8-course blind tasting menu @yayaskitchenldnont. Each course was accompanied by a brief history lesson on the dish and its ingredients, and the entire evening was immersed in music and unobtrusive visuals to create the perfect ambience. I’ve provided captions for each course, but expect to have a wholly different experience when you visit. Thank you to Maryam, Malvin, and the rest of the incredible team for this delectable culinary journey through foods of the African Sahel!

WOW. This Pan-African + diaspora dinning experience rates among the top meals of my life (and I’ve traveled the world collecting my top meals - they are rarely at Michelin starred restaurants). This couple combines flavors and ingredients from the Black experience around the world in unique ways that result in culinary delight. Each dish comes with an explanation placing it context that enhances the experience the way a top sommelier can increase your enjoyment of a wine. I was there for a Friday vegan tasting menu: if all vegan food were so good I’d never crave eating meat again. My only regret is that I don’t live anywhere near London, Ontario so going back won’t be easy. If I were a local I’d be a regular. Undoubtedly one of the, if not the, best dining experiences in town (having been in town only a week, I’ll admit I could have missed something)

Fantastic meal at Yaya’s Kitchen last night. It was an eight course African inspired dinner with wine pairings with three of the courses. The flavors, presentation and uniqueness of all the dishes was simply perfection. What a great addition to the London food scene. Each dish was explained in full detail of ingredients, cooking methods and sometimes the unique vegetables (that I’ve never heard of) were brought out in raw form. As dinner was to commence there was a “dinner bell” that was rung a traditional tribute that something was about to happen. At the beginning of the meal you given slices of lime to cleanse your hands and then they came around with a bowl and water to rinse your hands off. What great way to start a very interesting and formative meal.

Yaya’s Kitchen is a totally unique dining experience that celebrates the culinary traditions of cuisine from Africa and the Caribbean. We had the pleasure of enjoying an 8-course tasting menu. It was clear that each and every dish had been thoughtfully and expertly prepared in order to showcase the flavors, spices and foods from these regions. Our host, Malvin, graciously and warmly welcomed us into the Supper Club space, a “pop up” restaurant with an informal but engaging space with African influenced tableware, music and visuals. As each course was presented, Malvin explained the origins of the dish and the unique ingredients incorporated into the food. Every course was excellent and complementary wine pairings accompanied several of the courses. Throughout the evening the Yaya's Kitchen team were attentive and warm. Each dish was a visual delight with beautiful presentation. The flavor profiles and textures of the dishes were unique and every dish was delicious in its own way. We look forward to participating in future Supper Clubs and we congratulate Malvin and Maryam on creating such a wonderful culinary and cultural experience!

We went there for diner with the family. The food was AMAZING and we got to taste flavours that we have never tried before. Alongside the food, Melvin (the owner) was telling us stories about how he came up with the different plates and combinasion of flavours. It really added to the whole experience. We will be back for sure and I would encourage you to try it out. Trust me, you won't be disapointed.

Not only was the food delicious, it was also a breath of fresh air as the food had influences from all across different Afro-Caribbean cultures. The ice in my zobo being shaped like a hibiscus flower was a cheeky touch. Loved the experience!

We found Yaya's Kitchen from a Google restaurant review search since It was our first visit to London, Ontario. We went purely by their 5 star reviews with no expectations and found out it was their Afro-Vegan Tasting Menu. What an absolute hidden Gem. It was a delicious 4-course meal! The owners were so friendly, service was excellent, and they walked us through each course, explaining the ingredients and the stories behind the dishes. Everything from the beautiful plating, their own Spotify playlist, and ambiance made the experience more rich. Highly recommended. They're only open Fridays and Saturdays. Check out their Facebook page for more information. Thank you! - E and M.

Hands-down the best dining experience I've ever had. The food is amazing, you can really tell how much care and love is put into making each dish. I loved learning about each one as it was presented as well. If you're looking for new food and cultural experiences, Yaya's Kitchen is a must!

This is one of the best meals I have every had! The creativity and fushion of delicious flavours draws you in and your taste buds just explode! You can tell that the chefs pour their heart and soul into each dish and how they share about the ingredients and countries they come from makes the experience even better. I cannot wait to go back and try their new menu next month!

Went to the supper club on Sept 17, 2022. It was an AMAZING 7 course tasting menu of dishes with flavors ranging from West Africa to the Caribbean, along with wine pairings for 3 of the dishes. Every single dish was delicious! Now, being a tasting menu, each course was kind of small, but with 7 courses, we didn't leave hungry. As they served each course, the chef came out and explained the stories behind each dish, which made for a really rich experience. There were a few flavour combinations that I would never have thought would work together, but they really did, and the entire meal was fun, it was informative, and a unique time that you won't find elsewhere in London. We will definitely be going back!

Yaya's kitchen was an amazing dining experience. We went for the blind tasting menu on Saturday night. The experience was over three hours long but it didn't feel that way. The flavorful combinations that came out were amazing and left us wanting more of each dish, especially the oxtail. The service and food presentation were also top notch. It was pricey but worth every penny

We went on a date for the blind tasting 8 course menu and it was one of the most rich eating experiences we had so far! Every detail was full of intention and care, and all dishes were beyond words. Tasted like home with a very unique touch! Much love for all the humans and energy involved in this experience.

For London, Yaya's is a unique experience you don't want to miss. We sat in for a Saturday blind tasting menu and received 8 courses. Most courses were vegetarian (with one fish dish), and we left feeling happy and satisfied. A beautiful combination of ingredients sourced both from the global south and locally. Each plate was in itself delicious, and we had a hard time narrowing down our favourites. I wouldn't change a single part of the experience. Our host for the evening would explain each dish as it was brought out, and would also come to the table right after and show us some of the ingredients, allowing us to touch or taste them separately from the main dish and appreciate the work put into each dish. We're looking forward to coming again and bringing friends along with us to this truly unique experience.

I was impressed with the excellent presentation of Afro-Vegan options and the service and efforts of Joseph and his wife who welcomed and served us with such grace. I was there with my classmates and professor for a blind tasting menu and everything was great 👌. Will go back there.

Went for my second visit last night. I gave this as a present to my family since I had enjoyed my experience so much the first time. This is more than meal it is an experience. From the first ring of the bell, Malvin has the ability to invite you into what he and his wife Maryam are trying to accomplish, to take you on a cultural journey with food. Every dish is prepared with such thought, love and attention and Malvin's explanations have you excited to try each dish. The flavours and textures are delicious, often like nothing I have ever tasted before. I hope more people discover this place and come with an open mind and ready to savour the entire experience. I plan to go back regularly!
