It's autumn and there is enough sun, so we went for a walk. This is an amazing place for such a walk, even though all preparations are taking place to get this forest and garden ready for the winter, we walked around between such amazing colored trees, historical buildings and well designed and maintained gardens. My friend told me some stories, why, who and when all of this was built and designed. Go there, and find it out yourself! Parking is free, entrance is free and the reward for spending a few hours here is enormous. I definitely enjoyed it, and hope to be back once again during the summer and see the differences.

Gorgeous place. So much to see there. Great place to go with kids! It is beautiful in Spring,Summer and Fall. You can bring a picnic basket and enjoy a nice lunch under the tree shade. Bring a chair and relax while reading a book. Whatever you choose to do, this is a great place to be. In summertime enjoy Gelato from a local store.

It's an 18th-century Baroque-style garden with water features, a palace and grottos. Entrance is free. There's a fee to visit the upper grotto and the museum. There's a short walk from the parking lot to the palace itself. It's quiet and serene. If you use your imagination, you may able to sense what the aristocrats of the day enjoyed the nature and man-made architecture. It's a short drive from the nearby Bayreuth. Enjoy!

Beautiful beautiful garden with nice cafe stop. The whole area was bigger than expected. You could easily spend 2-3hrs if you explore the entire garden. I took a tour before and it was worth it. Highly recommend to stop here if you are in the area.

Great place for a nice summer day outing. The cafe inside also hosts events and the new castle is a delight to sit by. The old castle has a great area to walk around with the gardens and a good view.

Beautiful castle. Such a nice and calm area. No crowds of tourists. Easily accessible via public transport. It has a huge garden to roam around. Washrooms are clean and proper There is a restaurant where you can sit all day long and enjoy food. The castle has large fountain pool in front of it and benches around it. It works at intervals but provides a calm scenario. There is also an old Eremitage castle not as charming as the new one but with a beautiful garden just a point to walk around. The best time is to visit in Summer ofcourse and moreover when its slightly rainy weather as the area looks beautiful and scenty during this type of weather. Also convenient with kinder wagon. There is no ticket to pay for the entrance. The bus exactly takes you from Bayreuth Hbf to One stop before Eremitage but in return you can find the bus exactly near the entrance of Eremitage. Just make sure the weather is not too sunny because the area is completely open and thats why heavy sunshine would not make the experience good.

We arrived late in the season so most of the fountains were winterized. The views were absolutely amazing and thanks to our personal guide, Annie, we would have never found this beautiful castle. We learned a lot about the historical value of this site. Built by a King who wanted to impress other royal families, and noblemen with private dances or parties at his own personal castle made of colorful stones. This was the only thing that the king would use it for. A gathering place for royals. The site was amazing. Definitely make this a most go see 👀.

Its really beautiful gardan and palace but I dont recommend you to visit in winter. Everything is closed and there is nothing to see that much. But it seems lovely in summer

This park, the grounds and buildings are absolutely gorgeous, pics do not do it justice, it’s stunning. Princess Wilhelmine really knew how to throw a castle! Lol. 👑

Splendid gardens, meticulously maintained. Unique renaissance structures replace the original Schloss Fantaisie. Very little of the original structures remain, though the "New Castle" is built on the site of the old and in similar fashion. Not necessarily my idea of a castle, in that it isn't a structure for protection, with turrets and walls. However it is well worth the ride through a beautiful countryside. The gardens and ponds are the initial purpose behind the rebuilding and they are wonderful. The buildings too magnificent. The structure in the final photo is not on the site, but is a screenshot from a website about Erimitage. You will see the resemblance.

Wonderful park even if it was cloudy and everything was closed according to Corona. It’s really worth a visit.
