We drove an hour and half to try this food and for anyone who wants to try this bbq save yourself the drive and do not come. We saw this place on Food Networks BBQ brawl, so you would expect this to be top notch. When we arrived they only had pulled pork available at 1pm on Saturday when they open at 11:30am. The pulled pork I had was cold and dry, I had it with no sauce. Good bbq shouldn’t need to have sauce on the side to make up for your lack of flavor. When paying $15 for a small portion size, I should expect your food to be amazing.

Saw Big Lee on Food Network BBQ Brawl and have been looking forward to trying it for months. Got it today and so disappointed. The burnt ends were more like chopped brisket. Not the crispy end you expect. The beans tasted EXACTLY like Bush's baked beans. I would bet money the beans came from a can. The corn cakes were really good and well seasoned. Servings were small for the prices. Meat was okay, not great BBQ, fairly dry. Something you might expect from a chain BBQ place. I won't be going back and certainly wouldn't recommend.

Very greasy Raw Brisket. This food is Garbage do not buy here. Also Food sit out for hrs on the Food Truck that will make you sick. Food not in the hot box. They have cooked pork and brisket sitting out at room temperature. Brisket has a lot of fat on it. They are touching everything and touching your food. Not sanitary to eat. Health inspector contact to check them out.

Big Lee’s food is very good. The ribs were very tender with a delicious smoky flavor, baked beans were amazing as well. I will most definitely eat here again. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for some real deal BBQ Florida style, this is it. Not sure if it’s a Florida style but it’s the way my Granddad showed me how to smoke meat. A basic rub and smoke until tender and juicy, no sauce. The ribs are right on point with the perfect smoke flavor and juice. The brisket also had amazing smoke flavor and smooth soft chew. The sides again bring me to my grandparent’s house for a cook out. The collared greens are spot on my grandma’s greens, I know because she taught me to cook them. My wife said the mac n cheese was almost as good as hers, she said it, I did not, because my grandma and mother trained my wife to make my favorite side. This truck gave us fantastic flavor and a feeling from the past that was perfect for us.

Wife and I ordered a large brisket plate with two sides so we could share. After waiting 25 minutes in the hot sun I asked to cancel my order and refund my 20.00. The girl said my order was ready so we accepted it. I opened the box and was surprised at the 2 forks of brisket. Not even enough for 1 forget sharing. Wife couldn't stay and eat in the sun any longer so we went home. The coleslaw was soupy and the bread was completely soaked in brisket fat. My pic shows my order. Loaded with fat and shredded not sliced. First time and last time. BTW....every customer was solicited for a tip.

It's been too long since our last visit, and was worth the drive. It's absolutely delicious!! The fact that adding BBQ sauce is not necessary. Mac and cheese and those corn nuggets, what a surprise!! It is still the best BBQ ever! . . . Best BBQ ever! we've been twice and ever since we've been comparing with other places but no one like this. On this occasion, we tried something new, the special that included a St. Patrick Day sausage delicious!!!! the Guiness strout cake that was out of this world OMG, it's totally worth the 2 hour drive. I am looking forward to visiting again.

I can’t speak highly enough about our experience with Big Lee’s! We had the food truck come to our company BBQ. Jasmine and Key drove the truck and served the food right from their window. The food was out of this world good! All the great things you hear about them are absolutely true! Not to mention they went out of their way to get this job done for us considering we have them four days notice after our previous food truck backed out! Great Job Big Lee! See you next time!

Big Lee's is my go to for BBQ anytime I am near Ocala. Excellent melt-in-your-mouth BBQ. Best burger anywhere around. Rib meat just falls off the bone. On my must get list, THE KATHY! And, don't forget the burnt ends for dessert.

Took time to visit the brick and mortar location, my first time ever eating Lee‘s BBQ. I would recommend it , definitely worth a try if you haven’t had it before. And WHY not the owner is on the Food Network after all. The environment is cozy. The staff is awesome, during my visit a Saturday afternoon for lunch it was extremely busy, but every single employee made me feel as if I was the only person they needed to attend too. If you haven’t had Lee’s give it a try, you can sit inside or out. If the brick and mortar doesn’t work for you hit one of his food trucks on your route while out and about .

Really wanted to like this place SPITE the reviews as it is "#2 BBQ in State of FL", i am honestly baffled at how they managed to acquire said title. It's a food truck, not an actual restaurant. You pull up to the parking lot, place your order, and within no time, you have your order. There are several picnic style tables scattered across the lot in front and to the sides of the food truck. - they should really consider investing in some umbrellas to provide shade for patrons. It's May and brutally hot and humid in Central FL already, and it's not even summer. So a little shade while you eat would be a nice and inviting touch. The service was fast and good, the girl taking orders was pleasant. Now, onto the food, we ordered the following; 3 birria tacos small pulled pork meal with mac n cheese, coleslaw and added 2 ribs for an extra fee. small chicken meal with bbq beans, corn nuggets and added 2 ribs as well for $3 extra. 1 homemade banana pudding 4 Big Lee Teas the Birria tacos were pretty standard, not bad. the pulled pork, chicken, and ribs were all lacking actual smoke flavor, they taste oven baked with chips added to provide that pink meat, it was quite shocking to have the actual classic smoke flavor be nonexistent. Pulled pork and chicken were, for some reason, bland. The ribs, however, did have a seasoned coating. Definitely not fall off the bone tender either and tons of gelatinous fat. The coleslaw was not a favorite nor was it terrible, definitely not your classic sweet taste. The mac and cheese tasted box made but i couldn't be certain, nonetheless nothing special or memorable is the point. the bbq beans were bush beany reminiscent with added tomato paste taste, again nothing special nor memorable. the corn nuggets were a tasty side and dusted with a nice seasoning - possibly best side option of our order. The banana pudding was indeed delicious and absolutely worth trying not one complaint there. The Big Lee Tea was sweet and not your classic black tea but a hibiscus base, which lended a nice tart pucker and quite refreshing as we were baking under the sun with no shade. The portions are on the small side for BBQ, period! Wasn't impressed and again shocked at how they received #2 title when Shiver's BBQ in Homestead made it to #6 and is much much better! Wouldn't recommend to my followers for actual BBQ but would say stop by to try the tea, corn nuggets and banana pudding.

Mid BBQ on a mid-week lunch stop. I should’ve known as soon as i asked for brisket and they didn’t ask if i wanted sliced/chopped or lean/moist. Had the big brisket plate with bbq beans and fries, added on the ribs. Ribs were the best thing in the box. Brisket tastes more like pot roast than brisket. Fries were mostly scraps and the beans were over cooked and mushy could’ve been out of a can. BBQ sauces are also underwhelming. Just in town for the day and saw this place had a great rating, not sure if I got it on a bad day or if this is how it usually is.

I really enjoyed my food at lees but people are right that the meat portions can be on the smaller side for the price. I have bbq every where i travel and this was probably one of the most expensive ones considering the size. With that being said the fries were seasoned with some smoke salt that was out of this world and the mustard sauce was amazing I wish I would of taken some home! Now if lee was to have a location closer to Orlando that would be great to avoid having to drive so far.

Love, love, love this place! We went for the 8th anniversary celebration. They gave away free sandwiches, chips and drinks! Everyone was so friendly! Everything they serve is amazing. I definitely recommend trying it if you haven't yet!

Been wanting to try Big Lee’s for a long time. Even before he got a brick and mortar spot. I’ve followed Rashad on all of his Food Network adventures, so my expectations for his BBQ were very high. Let me just say he didn’t disappoint! He greeted us himself at the door as we walked in. Of course I got a pic with him. From the moment we walked in, the staff was polite and courteous. They took our order and the wait for our food wasn’t long at all. Everything came out hot and fresh. I got the burnt ends with a side of sausage along with fries and bbq beans. My wife got the sliced brisket with fries and mac-n-cheese. It was all absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to go back! 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!!!

Love the set up, it's a cool looking place! I love how the pictures on the walls has all the smokers that have been used through the years, the banner of his win on food network. Food has amazing flavor! I wasn't a fan of the cole slaw, but I'm picky on that anyways. Brisket was on point, flavor was amazing to say the least. Pulled pork, also amazing flavor. Mac n cheese, fried ocra, corn nuggets... so good!! Oh, and the sweet tea is excellent! They offer a sweet sauce and a tangy. They are both good, I liked the sweet the best. We'll definitely be back. Worth every penny and the drive if you are not local.

I had been looking forward to going to Big Lee's for a very long time. I love good bbq. The day I went my experience was not that great. I was the first customer of the day. I wanted to order the Mr Yes, but apparently this is no longer a menu item, so I ordered the brisket plate with 2 sides. I got the beans and Mac & Cheese. Originally the server told me they didn't have any brisket, but then they found one. Unfortunately my brisket was way over cooked. There was no "bite" to it at all. It just totally fell apart, although the flavor was awesome. The Mac and cheese was cold, as it appears to have been left over from a previous day. The beans were wonderful and full of flavor. I ended up with the banana pudding for dessert, as they were out of cobbler, and it was the last pudding they had. Remember I was the first customer of the day. The pudding was runny and the wafers were completely mushy. So for waiting such a long time to finally get to try out Big Lee's, my experience was disappointing to say the least. Hopefully it was just a bad day. I will give them one more try because I do love good bbq, and hopefully it will be better.

This place is absolutely amazing!!! Do yourself a huge favor and check it out! Hands down best BBQ in Florida!! Pork belly burnt ends are like meat candy! Brisket was so tender it fell apart in my fingers. I will be driving an hour to eat there again soon!!

My husband and I have been to Big Lees new restaurant 3 times already since it has opened and all three times the food and service has been amazing. The brisket, pulled pork and ribs are amazing. I was lucky enough to be able to have the Famous Wings that took down Bobby Flay and I was NOT disappointed, the cook on the wings and the blueberry sauce was perfection. We always leave so stuffed that we can’t eat another bite. The staff is always pleasant. Sure there may be a few kinks to work out at a new restaurant but so far they are killing it!
