Nice place, interesting Mayan ruins and wild nature. Avoid San Javier and around. There are high prices, poor service and people want your money badly, you can feel bad aura averywhere. River there is contaminated with sewage from all hauses.

Nice place to visit. English Tour guide 1300 MXN. You can climb the ruins. If you want to see upper level temples (Temple of sun and Temple of cross) make sure it's before 4 pm as you will be stopped.

Laguna Miramar is part of the Montes Azules biosphere. To reach this natural paradise, you will have to take a long journey. If you leave Comitán, it is 5 hours, approximately 2 and a half hours on the road, which is generally in good condition, and then it is 46 km. Dirt road that will take you approximately another 2 hours. You will arrive at the Emiliano Zapata town, where the managers will receive you. I leave you the prices of all the services. Afterwards it is another 2 hours of walking between pastures and jungle, if you are not in good physical condition, it can take you 3 hours of walking. The lagoon is always warm, very delicious indeed. It's not cold.

😠 For rich people only. I personally contacted the ecotourism association, and was told there is no budget sleeping options (nothing under 750 pesos a night, i.e at least double anything we’ve seen while in mexico). Not even the possibility to hang your hammock. I hope the Lacandon community finds a w...
