We were very excited to see this natural wonder. After the long journey in and paying 900 pesos for our family of five to enter and camp, the disappointment began. There is no infrastructure for camping and so we set up our tents on a slant, trying to avoid the rocks and horse poop from the horses who free range through the camping area. When you pay that much to camp, you expect minimum infrastructure and there was none of it and dirty bathrooms to boot. An hour and a half after we had set everything up- tents, air mattresses, etc. and as night was falling the same young girl (maybe 14 years old?) who had manned the entrance gate, charged us and let us in came back over to say that we had to pack up and leave because no animals were allowed and we had our dog with us (calm and on a leash). We were stunned! There had been no mention verbally or through signage that pets were not allowed. When I went to the owner for my refund and complained that he was not managing his business well to have let in guests who did not meet entrance criteria we had no way of knowing (no mention of it at the gate and no signs) he proceeded to blame the young lady at the gate and tell me that he was mad at her and would be following up (I heard him yelling at her as I left). It made my blood boil to watch an owner sit arrogantly at a table throughout a customer issue his poor management caused, as he delegated all challenging tasks to a child and then responded to my direct feedback with arrogance and complete lack of personal accountability as the owner. It made me sick to my stomach that a man like him would be making money off a substandard experience and that he had no shame to dump on a young and poorly trained employee. The sink hole is beautiful and we saw parrots fly in and out. It is lovely but very poorly managed and over priced and I personally feel relieved that I did not contribute financially to the wealth of a business owner with poor customer service, ethics and management skills.

Wow! What an amazing experience my son's and I had while visiting this paradise is beautiful Chiapas! Our guides Lu and Valentín made it even better. We loved the repel experience! We had never done something like this before we felt completely safe and secure the whole time. They are very professional and are very passionate about being at Sima de Las Cotorras. It is a must see and unforgettable experience. I am so thankful I was able to have this experience with my sons. They also offer food onsite that was delicious! Can't wait to come back!

I was expecting to see at least some parrots but, there’re none. The food are expensive and they serve you a small portion. They charge you the entrance as well $50 per person.

Beautiful place! We came here because we wanted to do the rappel and we were not disappointed by anything. The room we was cute and is well maintained in a beautiful small house built with rock. They tried to preserved the nature as much as possible. As it is in the middle of nowhere, the night was very quiet. The hotel has a restaurant. We tried it and the food was very good. People who are working there are really nice. And the experience of the rappel was amazing!!

Perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Friendly staff, great food, supportive without being pushy. Beautiful nature and possibility to discover nature in a more extreme or relaxed way. Recommended if you want to be away from everyday noise and pollution. Dear Walter, George, the mama thank you for taking care of us.

Beautiful! We came at dawn expecting to see a flock of parrots, but they just leave a few at a time all morning, so no need to get there early! But the staff are really nice and the adventure route turned out to be really fun. Rappelling, spelunking, hiking, rock climbing and zip lining. We were the only people there and the guide took us through the whole route ourselves.

I didn't stay at the hotel. The rating is for the boat tour offered by the hotel. It is better to go early if you want to see the Gaucamayas. But I have taken the trip at all hours with groups and it has alwaus been a fantastic experience.
