This was a great experience. If you don't want to take the easiest path with a large group of tourists, ask for Leonid. He's an excellent guide and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the catacombs. You'll see much more on his tour and get a lot more interesting information than if you stay with a large group. You might get a little dirty but it's worth it!

The catacombs in Odessa are a mesmerizing experience, totally worth the hours and the money. Leonid is a fantastic guide, combining knowledge and fun factors. He was also very precise with logistics, from the booking to the meeting point. I would do the tour again and surely recommend Leonid as a guide!

We were in Odessa with a friend and heard about the catacombs and were really interested to do a tour. We contacted the Odessa catacombs tour and they answered directly offering a tour the same day. It was actually one of the best part of our trip. Leonid our guide made us feel comfortable very quickly despite the kind of dark and lifeless environment we were in. We were amazed by the enginuity of the construction and the number of stories related to the catacombs. Don't hesitate to book a tour it's really worth it!

This afternoon I followed a private tour and I must say, it was really very interesting. I had heard about this place from a book (by Robert Macfarlane) and it didn't disappoint me; so much history hanging between those walls and Leonid (good English) knows all about it!

Had "extreme tour" privately, in English. It was a great and very interesting experience to catch the hidden and inner spirit of amazing Odessa! My guide was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly...in a few words... strongly recommended!

I wanted to take tour inside the catacombs yesterday. After sending a message on Whatsapp, there was a quick reply from Leonid. He invited me for a tour either at 14:00 or at 17:00. I signed up for the tour at 14:00, and went to the location that he provided. Arriving there, I noticed that I was the only non-Russian speaking person, so I was a bit unsure on what to expect. This appeared not to be a problem: Leonid gave me a private tour in English while the Russian tour was a little ahead of us. It was a great experience to learn the history of Odessa and what role the catacombs played in the history of the city. I won't share the details, just sign up for yourself and enjoy ;) We closed off the tour at an underground bar where he served me two shots of "moonshine", an alcoholic drink, and then it was time to get back outside. Great tour, great experience!
