Stopped by to try the local buffet was very disappointed and disturbed the restaurant was very dirty the food was old I gathered what seemed edible and waited for fresh food the fresh food included raw chicken. The staff became aggressive and rude when told about the atmosphere and food quality. They tried to shame me for my weight and calmed when it's busy it can be like that. If the food is old when busy I hate to see it when slow. The sushi was very old and sweaty the piece I tasted had a old fishy taste not normal for sushi. Was given a small discount and yelled at to leave when I explained to the lady that if her restaurant refuses to improve her customers will go to other buffets that care about quality. It was clear they have similar complaints from how they all had battle stations for when this happens. I had to ask the lady to calm down eventually she was screaming so much. I wouldn't recommend eating here at all. Service is zero same as the food and atmosphere. A smell of vomit permanently hovers by the bathrooms along with a weird musty smell like old books. Not smells normally in a restaurant.

I enjoyed the decorations as well as the wide variety of food. The server we had waa super attentive and very nice. I'd definitely come back. It gets pretty busy on weekends. Appears to be $16 for an adult.

I am appalled and disgusted by the sanitary level of this place. Came in, no one had a mask only a few including me, not a big deal bit something to point out. They had absolutely no gloves for when one needs to go grab food so people were touching plates and food utensils with nasty hands. The food looked good from afar..until you got closer and saw how disgusting it was. The sushi was all over the place. The little tongs for sushi was caked and nasty. The raw sushi tasted weird and was CRUNCHY?! Not to mention the meatball covered shrimp and some weird food with I think shrimp and clams where the sauce looked like sewage water. My cup of water was still caked on with grime that I could literally scrape off with my finger on the inside. Thankfully I got another cup that wasn't dirty. They had a bucket of,I imagine, was a sanitizing liquid that was milky cloudy and grease with food floating on top. Their ice cream wasn't frozen enough so it came out like a shake, tho I did enjoy the creamy vanilla flavor it had. You could customize your cones and even be able to get cookies and cream ice cream! But of course the ice cream scooper and the water it was in was cold, milky and dirty to touch. I'm not sure if it was today that it was so nasty or if it's usually like this then they need to be shut down. I work with food in kitchens and that does not look sanitary to me at all. If the front looks like this then imagine what goes on in the back!!

Buffet King in Odessa, TX, emerges as the refuge for Chinese food enthusiasts in this town. Despite being the only option, it manages to fulfill the need for those craving the flavors of the Far East. The decor at Buffet King might be a throwback to an earlier era, showing signs of wear that suggest it could benefit from an update. While it hasn't reached a state of disrepair, a fresh touch could enhance the overall dining experience. The buffet selection offers a range of familiar Chinese-American dishes, and though not extensive, it caters to the essential cravings. The staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere remains relaxed, making it a convenient spot for locals seeking a taste of Chinese cuisine. Considering the limited options in town, Buffet King holds its own. While the decor might not be cutting-edge, it's far from dilapidated, ensuring a comfortable setting for patrons. If you can overlook the dated aesthetic, Buffet King remains an acceptable choice for a Chinese food fix in Odessa.

Our favorite buffet restaurant. Always full packed during Sundays. Love how fast they refill food trays.

Grabbed a To go for lunch. It was tasting pretty good until I found this little guy wandering around. Not sure where he came from but it wasn't in there when I was filling up the to go container. It's alive so it hasn't been cooked. The to go container stayed in the bag until I got back to work. So im thinking it was in the bag they put the food container into. Never the less it likes the shrimp tail.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes to suit everyone's taste buds, and I must say that I'm thoroughly impressed with my experience at a buffet. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The seating little bit congested, but I enjoyed the seafood a lot😻. Overall, it's good 👍, It's an excellent option for families and friends. Thank you 😍.

Awesome buffet. Busy, which was good, because everything was fresh and it all tasted great

The food was okay. I know that lunch doesn't provide different types of food. The food needed more flavor. The staff was very professional and made sure that plates were picked up when done and that drinks were refiiled.

Quality has gone down in the years. But still my guilty pleasure. We don't go as often as we used to. Again, due to the decline of food taste. The people are always super nice. And they do move quickly to try and seat you asap.

It was very gross food. I would never go back to this location. Half the stuff was cold. Everything was old and dried out or slimy and not in a normal or good way on anything. The tables and chairs are sticky from long term grease being wiped over and over. The floors where nasty.

Me and 2 of my buddy's went and one of my buds said the rat-on-a-stick was super tender and packed with flavor, myself I did not really enjoy my experience, the pot sticker did not have pot in them nor were they sticky. But I absolutely loved the atmosphere, I watched a white chick get pissed and start yelling obscenities because she thought another woman looked at her 4/10 looking boyfriend, id definitely recommend going if you have not been.

This place is great. Tons of food... Which is why buffets exist. I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor town this buffet is. They have all my favorites and some. There's an Asian flan which is pretty good and the fruit selection is great. They have a Mongolian grill going on that cooks on the spot. The staff the greatest they are super nice and not in a hurry like other buffets. I recommend this place to anybody with a good appetite and a hungry stomach.

My sister and I really enjoyed Buffet King we arrived around 11:30 am it was clean and the food was varied, plentiful, warm, fresh and tasted good. Our server was Becky she did her job dutifully with a Good Attitude always clearing finished plates and kept our glasses full the entire visit. I will definitely request her next time.

The food is decent and well priced for a buffet here and seems to be fresh at 1:30 when we went. They have a ton of options and variations to choose from. I would've given 5 stars if the meats had been of better quality, being that some prices you get are chewy.

A friend and I ate here. This is actually a regular place to eat for us. This location has a variety of food selections on the buffet as well as a salad bar, Mongolian bar, and sushi bar with fruit and ice cream selections. They have a three big screen tv’s. The wait staff is courteous and efficient. I do recommend this location if you are hungry and ready to eat as soon as you are shown to your table.

It's a good place to eat with lots of variety and choices. Best Chinese/ Mongolian buffet in town. Honestly this is the only Chinese buffet I've been to in Odessa Texas and DIDN'T spend the rest of the day in the bathroom (so far). The place is very clean with plenty of waiters and waitresses. So far so good 👍👍👍.

Reasonably priced. Good selection of dishes. The reason for the 2 stars is every dish I sampled was lacking flavor. The spicy dishes where seriously lacking the spice. Not even a tingle from the Jalapeño chicken.

Staff was friendly, I’ll give them that. But the food overall was disgusting. It was hard to even eat anything. Tried some peaches, banana pudding, and jello. Tasted weird in general. The ice cream machine doesn’t work properly, came out very mushy and runny, it shouldn’t even be considered ice cream. Now we’re home sick after trying to eat their food.

I love Asian food, but I'm very picky when it comes to buffet restaurants. The food is okay.. but it could be better. I arrived around 6:00 p.m. for dinner. Selection is vast like most buffets, but questionable on how fresh the food really is. I gave it three stars because it's just average in the service, the food, and also the decor. Again it's okay but not impressive enough for me to want to come back. It's a buffet, that's about it.

Not the best, not the worst. Great place for all-you-can-eat sushi 🍣 for under $20 a person. But like most buffets, not a lot of care and time goes into the food they serve.

The server was very sweet, but the place was disgusting and all the food was mushy. In light of the low quality, the price was alarming. $54 for a family of four, and only the 3 year old enjoyed it. The place was busy though, and everyone else seemed happy.

Got seated fast. Had a good variety of seafood and even sushi. Did the stir fry on a previous trip, so will do that again next time. Salad shrimp fresh and cold. The 4 hot bars were kept well stocked, although someone ahead of me cleaned out most of the salt and pepper shrimp the moment a fresh batch came out. But last trip that was good. This time by the time I got done with hot & sour soup, and sweet & sour chicken, a crawdad, and frog legs, I was out of room. Ate here a year ago when line at golden Corral was just too long for our schedule. Stopping here was fastest time from engine shutoff to first fork of food in mouth, so when in this end of town and no time to cook and have errands still to do late into evening. In an era where lots of time is wasted idling in near gridlock traffic, the new normal for Permian Basin, a place where multiple trips can be combined; park and walk to building materials, car parts, etc then eat and not have to cook and clean up when getting home does leverage my time. With steep inflation, I have almost stopped eating out, and so far prices have not busted my budget here, although I think it did inch up a few percent since 2021.

We have always had friendly staff and a clean table. The staff has always been very attentive to our needs. This is our absolute favorite Chinese buffet!

The kids and I made this our last stop before heading back home to New Mexico. One of the great things about this restaurant is the variety offered. For my youngest, there's the things he likes along with a wide array of great options for adults or my daughter who has a taste for the higher end foods. I enjoy all the relatively clean protein options (not fried or heavily sauced foods). The sushi is great as is everything else. The servers are always very attentive and friendly. The dining and buffet area are very well kept, making the whole visit fantastic.

I mean it’s just your run of the mill buffet. Greasy and average food, but tasty when you’re craving it! Not super clean but I wouldn’t say it’s bad by any means.

Food was not bad but could be better. Customer service was great. The food kinda lacked flavor and that was shocking. I may not come back again

Very nice buffet! Food was fresh and delicious and it's very nice and clean inside!

Service was friendly. Server was attentive and refilled drinks and cleared plates appropriately. Food was mediocre at best. Under the food trays was active boiling water which released steam around the food. This was misleading due to most of the food being lukewarm or room temperature. Soups were also warm and the hot and sour soup didnt taste like it should, though it wasnt bad. Egg drop soup was a bit dense in the oil, but still edible. Though food that came out fresh was good, you just had to time it right. Sushi wasn't bad, but it was similar to what you buy at a grocery store, though it appeared to be sitting out for a bit. Ice cream from the machine was as others have described it, more of a milkshake than full on ice cream. My 3 yr old loved it regardless. I paid less than $20 for my meal including my son, so price wise it wasn't bad and I still left full. While I pass through the area about twice a year, not sure if I would really come back again.
