Absolutely beautiful 🌼 Tix were €7 for adults, €2 for children. Big park. Good for picnics for families with children. Beautiful exhibits of succulents and cacti. Waterfalls and fountains. Absolutely gorgeous. Literally gone for a long walk in the park. On a nice blue sky day 💙 makes perfect pictures. Worth the visit. 3 cafes but only 1 open. Boutique is small but lady is friendly. Takes card payments for transactions above €20, otherwise a €0.50 charge.

Really fun experience and tour of the Frankfurt palm gardens. There is an entry fee to get in, which can we bought in advance or on the spot - depending on the time of day, the line shouldn't be too long. The gardens are pretty vast, so it won't appear too packed. There's so many different things to see inside - plants, shrubs, trees, insects - both indoors and outdoors.

Absolutely stunning botanical garden with a large collection of plant and flower species that is a “must see” in Frankfurt! visited the garden in the middle of the sunny Wednesday afternoon, and it was quite busy as there was a line for ticketing. However, it did not feel crowded once inside the gardens or the glasshouses. They had a storyboard in front of the gate to keep guests informed what is currently open and what is closed - nice touch! Firstly, we visited the glass houses, where each section was represented by a different climate – tropical, dry, continental, savanna, arctic and many more. What I personally really enjoyed was the fact I was able to see and find plants of all the fruit I enjoy eating such as banana, avocado, mango, papaya, pineapple and also plants of well-known spices such as muscat nut, vanilla, cardamom. Benches for relaxation were located in the sections of the glasshouses. Another spectacular place to visit was the “butterfly” house (open only at certain periods of the year) where we could observe dozens of butterfly species and learn about their life. Must visit place was the large Palmenhaus which basically took us to the middle of the tropical forest. In the large premises of the garden, we found many different sections of plants and flowers, such as peonies garden, bamboo forest, rhododendron garden (when we visited in mid of April, rhododendrons were not yet blooming) or succulent rock garden – all spectacular places worth visiting. We were amazed by the huge size of the gardens, and there were still sections we hadn't visited during our 4 hours walk! Maps were located quite frequently so it was easy to navigate through, however some explanations and descriptions of the plants were available only in German. Couple of small snack bars were located in the gardens, nothing fancy, just drinks, ice cream and fresh waffles. It seems easy to come here with a blanket and a good book to have a “lazy” afternoon. Definitely worth spending 7 EUR as entrance fee! Visited in the middle of April 2022.

It's the perfect place in Frankfurt for anyone who wants to spend their weekends. The park is really well maintained and there are varieties of food and drinks one can enjoy . Occasionally there are live bands performing in the open space also. Had a great time there .

This would be a nice place to go for a walk, or just to explore new things. Remember to download the Palmengarten app beforehand. It helps a lot in navigating around! We used our student cards, so the price is low. We bought tickets at the entrance. However, we arrived around 5:30pm so can’t visit every house because of the closing hours. It was sunny when we were there, so it felt super stuffy inside the houses and we can’t enjoy much. Side tips: Check the weather before u go Dry Tropics is my favorite house. They also have boating rental but we haven’t tried yet.

Tolles Ambiente abends.

This is a magical place in the middle of the city of Frankfurt. I visited the botanical garden in autumn 2020 and the colours were just spectacular. The most striking thing about the place is the clear care and great level of attention to detail that goes into the organisation of the garden. I also found the story behind the establishment of the garden to be quite interesting and inspiring. I went on a Saturday morning and it was relatively busy, with old and young people all enjoying its beauty. If you fancy a good walk and a charming escape into nature within easy reach in the city, this is the place to go.

The place where you can see all kinds of plants throughout the world is worth visiting. It is suitable for everyone-whether you are alone or get together with your friends or family or not ! The garden is so massive and huge that you need spend two or three hours strolling around it. It is located at the center of Frankfurt. It will take you 30 minutes from main station to get there . There are a lot of great locations you can enjoy and look at attractive tropical plants from the world. Moreover, there is a huge fountain where people can sit and talk with friends or relatives ,and children even play with one another or feed the fish in the pool. Moreover, you can take a leisurely walk and have a good time as possible as you can. This is a wonderful place and it is worth visiting again. Therefore , I recommend it be your priority and put it under your must-list!

Beautiful, scenic and informative is how you can best describe the gardens. Amazing place to go with the kids and spend the day. There are washrooms on site and they have a small shop for water and snacks. Would recommend packing a small picnic and having it by the Stone-head statue or next to the lake. There are nice restaurants here as well.

Had a great visit for about an hour on a chilly Saturday November afternoon. The garden is close to transit and accessible. Many of the indoor / outdoor attractions are great and well worth the entry fee. My least favourite was the Palm House which I think can be skipped at together. There was very little colour there, mostly green and upkeep seemed to be an issue.

I went for an event about the plants and process of how tea is made. It was only available in German which I don't speak but with using my translator I was able to get the gist of what was being said. The gardens themselves were beautiful and many of the signs had English translation The garden stays open quite late but be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore as it is a fairly large property with many rooms. They have orchids for sale during specific hours and the staff was very friendly. I didn't have time to check out everything but there is apparently a restaurant, mini putt and a play area...there are also many bathrooms throughout. A great place and a very reasonable entrance fee

Great place for anyone: for botanics (all sorts of exotic plants!), for gardeners (lots of new ideas!), for people searching calm and peace for a while. Big and impressive park with multiple flora, tropic and exotic. We were also fascinated by swans in the lake and gigant fish, following visitors :)

The place was under maintenance, repair and reconstruction, but there is no info about that neither on their website, nor at the entrance. Inside all of their facilities are under maintenance and reconstruction, the fountains were not working, etc., etc. At the check-in they kept silent about the fact and taxed me a full price for my ticket. When I requested a refund, their excuse for not giving me my money back, was Corona virus. Whatever, the place is a wreck anyways, and should be properly closed and repaired, instead of them lying to their customers.

(Translated by Google) Very nice garden. Unfortunately you have to pay admission here. In other cities in Germany something like this would be free and natural as a local recreation area for citizens, for example in Hamburg Planten un Bloomen. (Original) Sehr schöner Garten. Leider muss man hier Eintritt bezahlen.

Well worth a visit if the weather is nice. Especially quiet on a weekday and i would recommend visiting the butterfly house then rather than a weekend when it could get crowded and require waiting to enter that attraction. The gardens are work looking at, some of the buildings were off limits during Corona, but there's a small boat lake you can hire a boat. The mini train is also not working during Corona but generally is still with visiting with family and friends. Especially for the butterflies!

Beautiful botanic garden in Frankfurt Main. Centrally located and easy to get there by public transport. Has its own parking lot at reasonable fees. Staff was friendly and helpful. Do not miss your student ID card to save money 😉. The garden itself is really nice, despite there was no exhibition and the butterfly house opens on August 6. There are many benches and releaxion options so plan some time to calm down there. Especially children will love the water playground on the western corner of the park. The park is accessible for disabled.

After Google-ing sites to visit in Frankfurt I came across this beautiful garden - "Palmengarten" (nearly 150 years old!). It is €7.00 for adults and €2.00 for kids entry ticket, there is a discounted ticket for family/large groups too. You get to see a great deal for the price you pay! I was surprised by the size of the Park, with large walk through green houses and lakes were you can hire a boat and ride. Hundreds of beautiful plants and flowers to admire while you walk and explore, also a small play area for the little ones. There was an enclosed butterfly house but the day we went there was a a long queue so didn't get a chance to see inside. Do especially take a walk in the glass enclosed palm gardens, with thousands of exotic plants and trees, such a peaceful area of the park. Well worth a visit if you love nature and are in Frankfurt.

We were here in April, but I think it's would be even better to visit it in May, when all the trees will bloom. Anyway, great place to spend the whole day with your family or friends. Don't forget to take some snacks and drinks. You can relax on the beachbeds surrounding by the trees there.

It has been the second time I visited Palmengarten and there are still new places to discover. Many congrats to people who are working there and maintain this amazing place. Even during a snowy day it is an excellent opportunity to visit. Loved the greenhouse with the butterflies. A place worth visiting not only for tourists but also for locals . Also ideal for visitors no matter what the age

The layout of the gardens was amazing, beautiful specimen trees and garden bedding. Most of the site is level, with one area near the large lake having a drop down to it, but only gentle, so very easy for a gentle stroll and plenty of wheelchair access for the whole site, you won't miss a thing.

It is a lovely botanical garden near the Frankfurt city center. You can take underground train and walk few minutes and you will be there. You can spend hours there. There are several planetarium. Inside you will find beautiful plants and seats to rest and take it all in. There is a natural history museum nearby also. Keep in mind some museums are closed on Mondays and or Tuesdays.

A park for nearly all seasons but especially nice in the spring. From March to June there are special viewings of camellias and roses, and special events from time to time during the warmer seasons. Personally my favourite is between end of April and first half of May, when some of the grounds are covered with bluebells -- it is not comparable to the bluebell-covered woodlands in the UK, but this may be the only place within Frankfurt where one can see large areas of the bells. It is big enough to never feel crowded once you are in. Not all the spaces of the greenhouses are open all the time, however.

Nice diversion in Frankfurt. Beautiful park and nice plants. We went on a cool Saturday, 7€ entrance fee. The grounds were very nice, flowers blooming everywhere. Has several indoor spaces, greenhouses and other environments for the multitude of plants. Many beautiful butterflies in the butterfly house. It would be nice to return in a few weeks when the roses are blooming.

This place was so beautiful! I will definitely come back, there is so much to see that in 3 hours we didn’t manage! So many different plants and species and you can take really great photos. I guess in spring has to be the best time of the year for a visit at the PalmenGarten. There is also a nice cafe and the possibility to rent little boats 🛶 powered by foot.

What a great place to relax and unwind in the middle of the city! There is many different kinds of tropical and local plants and trees to explore and look at. There is also a cafe available to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake in the sun. Recommended in spring time and with sunny weather. Currently there is many refurbishments going on, that was kind of a minus.

Nice place to visit even though I went on a rainy day . It was a shame we weren’t informed the major indoor exhibit has been closed especially seeing it was raining and that’s one of about 4 indoor things to see in this garden. The plant displays and effort gone into this park is huge and quite impressive well worth seeing.

Magnificent botanical garden with numerous exhibits in free-air or climatized greenhouses. Besides numerous tropical and subtropical plants, they also have a number of carnivorous plants: sundews, Venus flytraps and pitcher plants, which they even sell at the garden shop. The garden has a kids playground which is popular for locals. Also, there are many geese and ducks walking openly in the grass fields and bathing in the ponds. Very calm and tranquil location

I just had a relaxing and peaceful experience in the gorgeous botanical garden, in the heart of Frankfurt. I can't give 5 fully stars because the green houses were closed to the Covid-19 pandemic. I will surely come back when they re-open them again. Despite that, a visit to the Palmengatern is highly suggested.

It can be crowded on weekends but there is always some hidden corner where you can be alone with a book or just enjoy the greenery. If you just moved to Frankfurt, and you stay somewhere around, yearly ticket is more than affordable and you should get it for frequent visits

  • 5/5 Timo R. 3 years ago on Google

(Translated by Google) The palm garden is basically a nice destination. You can also spend time there with children if they like it with the plants. In general, I will always enjoy being in the palm garden. It's so beautiful there that I almost don't care who I'm there with. Now there are people who don't like palm trees. Then it's no fun to take them there either. That's not bad at all, there are countless other ways in which you can spend your time. In principle, I would not go on a company outing to the palm garden because it is too warm in the greenhouses in company clothing.

(Translated by Google) Always worth a visit. Even if there is no exhibition, it is always worth a visit. I feel the price is a little too high.

(Translated by Google) Even with gray clouds and rain it was very nice in the palm garden today. The grounds were well cared for, some of them were being renovated or redesigned, and there were still a surprising number of great flowers to admire. At Villa Leonhardi we ate delicious cakes, drank coffee and tea, and sat very nicely. All in all a wonderful stay and highly recommended. :-)

Amazing and beautiful huge garden park! You can find all kind of plants, there is an amazing restaurant too and a cave. There’s a huge lake and a childrens playground. There is so much to see and enjoy for the whole family! I would mostly recommend to take the whole day to enjoy this oasis in the middle of the city. The best days to visit are the days of the week so it’s not that full. Definitely a must go for any tourist or habitant of Frankfurt!

It’s a nice garden with so many different kinds of plants and flowers. They also have a restaurant which is slightly expensive but manageable. You can stay as long as you want. Entry fee is 7€ and 3€ for students

A great place for a day. Lots of trees and flowers obviously. The lake is quite small so peddle boat will go around it several times in half hour but kids will enjoy it.

Beautiful botanical garden full of nature from around the world. There are greenhouses, roses and many places to spend the afternoon with family or friends. I would definitely come back.

Definitely worth a visit. If you have a Frankfurt Card you get 50% off (€3,50 rather than €7). The grounds are beautiful, and the butterfly enclosure is the highlight.

The tropicarium is the highlight of the Palmengarten. As a student, it costs 3 euros at entry, and is worth the visit. There are different rooms like Savannah, Tropical and more with their respective plant species from all over the world. Would love to visit it again when the Butterfly house is open during Summer/Spring.

We were there on a cool, wet and blustery February day, outside nothing was in bloom (obviously) but the green houses themselves were worth the visit.

Nice park to walk around at all times of the year and to see the changing seasons. The greenhouses and special exhibitions are always worth a visit

It really is a beautiful place. You can easily spend the afternoon to visit here, or even the whole day if you have kids. The garden is really big, with a great plants variety. A must-do!

Quite a big garden that many families visit. Many green house exhibits with tropical plants. Ample seats around park to take a rest. For 7euro it's quite worth it.

Real gem in the heart of the city. You can visit for 1-2 hours or be there for an entire day. Lots of exotic plants, trees and natural beauty can be found. Walk paths lead you on an almost endless journey to feel the real authentic feel of the climate and region. If you are lucky you can see special nature events and concerts as well. It also includes a restaurant and a playground fro the kids. Suggest to check the website for extra options to explore while you visit.

Great botanical center! It provides such a variety of plants, climate zones and decorative elements, these all makes it a perfect location for a nice weekend activity. The area around is perfect to have a long walk, there are also some areas for children - very family friendly! In addition, there is a butterflies house as one of the interesting entertainments :)

Went here in 2017 and 2022. Palmengarten has always been beautiful! We visited early September and there were very few butterflies left, yet it was still stunning to see. This year I was early enough for the roses, and my goodness do they smell fantastic! When we visit Frankfurt again we will definitely go to the Palmengarten. One day in spring!

Beautiful park in the middle of the city. There are some ponds and lots of walking paths, but the attractions were pleasantly surprising as well. They have an entire indoor garden with plants from around the world. There is also another building filled with palm trees. The paths wind all around the property, and there are plenty of activities for kids including a playground and multiple water features. Well worth it for only 7 euros.

The gardens are enormous! You could spend all day marveling at the beautiful plants and flowers! They had a wonderful butterfly garden and a spot you could rent paddle boats from to explore the ponds. The price is super reasonable and I would recommend a visit if you are traveling through Frankfurt!

Great place for a short afternoon walk, peaceful and soothing. Not much in the sense of signage or direction but if a little aimless meandering is on the agenda, this place is fine

What an amazing place to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon! The park is huge, there are many greenhouses with different climates and the variety of plant species is outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the butterfly greenhouse and the large tropical house

Beautiful location in the heart of Frankfurt. Lovely and fascinating garden with many buildings with flowers and plants from different parts of the world. If you are a student and have the Goethe-Card, the entrance is free! It is even good for picnic and check the website because you can find many programs like concert.

Lovely place, its so nice to walk around and see different types of plants and flowers. To see plants that you will never have a chance to see and to see plants you never thought existed its really worth it. But it was a shame the butterfly place was closed people say that was great as-well. Highly recommend if your in Frankfurt and interested in plants or parks.

It’s a surprise and bonus to our 1 month Europe trip. We landed in Frankfurt, as a succulent lover, I always visit botanical gardens especially the ones with a good collection of succulents and cacti. This is abundantly and breath holding visit. Both the indoor and outdoor succulents and cactus, they also have some greenhouses not open to visitors, but you can definitely see the the glasses. Best collection so far! Of course their other gardens are also very well presented, love the carnivores collection. The palm one is so so. We were wondering why don’t they call it Frankfurt botanical gardens instead of palms en garden!

Its 10/10. Price for the ticken for an adult is 7e. It is worth it even double! There are a lot of interesting things to see, also restaurant and coffee bar for rest. Toilets are clean. Nature is amazing.

A good place for people of all ages to spend their time. It's in the centre of the city Frankfurt and has different kinds of plants and trees to see and learn from. They have separate buildings for palms, flowers(especially roses, butterfly gardens, tropical gardens, etc all come interior. They have pedal boats, a children's play area, 2 or 3 cafes so you can spend a whole day if you wish. In the centre of the park is the big lake in which they have pedal boat service but you have to take another ticket I think it costs around 8€. The entry ticket to the park is 7€ for adult but they have different options for different card holders, you can check that on their site. They have maintained the place well and beautifully.

It's a big garden, and I highly recommend a visit. You can see different types of plants, from those in dry desert conditions to ones in humid jungles, all in one place. It's interesting to see how they take care of these plants. They offer student discounts too.
