The city of Frankfurt Germany is a beautiful city mixing old and new architecture. There are many places to eat and see and visit wherever you're from. It boasts a pedestrian walkway along the Main River. The public transportation is awesome and there are just so many shops and places to see and visit.

The Römerg in Frankfurt has been lovingly restored and is beautiful. It's lively and sometimes it can be busy, but it's so much fun. In such a compact area, there is much to see and do. There's a couple of important museums and historical churches. One must definitely visit

This medieval town square right in the middle of Frankfurt, Germany is an absolute treasure to be able to see with your own eyes. All the buildings have been preserved and they have retained their outer beauty throughout the years. The simple beauty and the history behind these buildings make it a must see! Inside the square you'll find shops, bars, restaurants, a church, and even a hotel! If you're visiting Frankfurt, you definitely have to take a quick walk through here!

Frankfurt old town center is very beautiful and lively. It is a must-see to anyone visiting Frankfurt. They had some sort of festival going on while we were in town visiting which made it even more exciting. A lot of great restaurants as well as shops and more. Don’t skip this while visiting Frankfurt!

Lots of history to this place and a must see if you are a visitor to Frankfurt... well what else will you do if you dnt go here.... Some shops have specials with like 30% off on sale. The Roman Catholic Church was quite an experience even though I'm not Christian and best part is that it is free to enter. One thing that needs to improve in Frankfurt is that there are limited toilets and you need to pay 50cents and no cards accepted in this digital Era we in.... can be very uncomfortable.

A must visit when in Frankfurt. Very nice spot for phototaking. From here, you can visit the Frankfurt Cathedral or the Iron Bridge.

Beautiful place! A must visit in Germany. I went with my family, including my mom who is more than 65 yo, it was a good experience for her too. Great to try a delicious glühwein, some typical and authentic German “street” food, or just to walk around. We went around 4pm and there were almost no people, around 5:30 (when it was dark) there were more people, with a good reason: the magic of the market can be experienced more at night. Majority of people were using face mask, and all stalls were very compliant with the pandemic regulations.

The place is very alive, especially on holiday season. It's a bit crowded but it's okay there are many shops. Many varieties of food and snacks, of course Germans best sausages is here as well. There are lots of shopsto buy souvenir and it's all in a fair price. I do recommend that you bring cash because most of the shops prefer it as they can operate much faster to accommodate loads of people . I love the overall experience , people are happy, children's are laughing. Friends of all ages drinks either on the pub or just in the stall outside. Very cheerful people . Loved it. Hope to spend the holiday season again here.

A great place to visit. I was surprised by the design and look and beauty of the area. I had just came from downtown Frankfurt with skyscrapers just to walk into what seems like an old German town

Great medieval square, reconstructed as the original one. You feel in a fairy tale. Nice with the lights at night too, and with the Xmas tree. A couple of good traditional German restaurants in the square.

Very amazing views of the old town right here in the centre, between the historic buildings. A lot going on here, often small concerts or stages set up, plenty of people walking around, cafe's open. Very close to the Frankfurt cathedral and several other churches.

When I visited Rőmerberg in May 2022 I was pleasantly surprised at the magestic state of preserved buildings from yesteryear. The Romerberg is badically restored historically correct buildings built in a circle. Its also a place whete the locals will hang out to pass the day. As a tourist the surrounding buildings makes for a good photo or two. If you do apply your photographic skills you could get a panoramic pic like gje one I posted of the Rőmerberg. Each building has a history uinique unto itself and if you like to know more about the buildings Im sure the locals will gladly assist in answering your questions. So when do intend visiting Frankfurt you must put on your bucket list placez to visit and the Rőmerberg must be one of those places.

A great place to visit if you are short on time in Frankfurt. This is considered the New Old Town and it's very busy on the weekends. We took the train from the airport and got off at the Hauptwache stop. Don't miss the Kleinmarkthalle in this area.

Just when we thought all the Christmas markets in Germany were shutdown due to the pandemic, we found an awe-inspiring Christmas market in Franfurt. It's at the Romerberg, Frankfurt's Old Town Center.

Nice place in the middle of the old town. It’s a standard place, whether I give 4 or 5 ratings won’t matter :). Attaching some good pictures with the review. The places and around the restaurant cafes are good especially in the October Fest. It was a good lively place.

Römerberg is the historic heart of Frankfurt, Germany. This charming square is surrounded by picturesque half-timbered houses, giving it a medieval ambiance. The iconic Römer building, Frankfurt's city hall for over 600 years, dominates the square with its distinctive stepped gables. Römerberg is not only a historic and architectural gem but also a vibrant hub with open-air markets, cultural events, and traditional festivals. It serves as a popular gathering place for both locals and visitors, offering a glimpse into Frankfurt's rich history and providing a delightful backdrop for leisurely strolls and exploration.

The heart of the old city. Historical buildings were rebuilt and it looks good. The square is big enough to have a quick walk and make great photos of local architecture.

I don't know why but every time i visit Frankfurt i feel the need to come here even though i have been there many times. Love the feel and the look of the old ways i guess. I always feel comfortable here and enjoy the surrounding areas and local food and beverage places. yes definitely tourist central here but its fun to visit it regardless of crowds. Worth checking out if you have time

Very pretty buildings! In our case when visiting there was a whole festival going on, I could not get the whole view of the square but we did win a baby yoda at the fair. You win some.. you lose some. My 9 year old had a blast.

Really nice area to go to while your in Frankfurt. It's an old section of the city and really nice with resturants, cafes and souvenir shops with nice people. Also a few street performers at times travel here.

It's an amazing space. The vibes of the old city of Frankfurt made me realize that I'm in Germany. Also, the church at the square is also a very historic place in Protestant history.

A historical place in a city. Came for a quick stroll and some photo taking. The buildings are very beautiful but I guess that’s about it. It was quite dirty in the morning as we saw many beer bottles were thrown on the floor.

Right in the heart of Frankfurt, a captivating historic square. Surrounded by colorful half-timbered houses, cafes, and a lot of souvenir shops. Around Christmas time the square is used for the Christmas night market which makes the place even more beautiful with all the decorations. The square is packed with both tourists and locals but even more packed when the Christmas night market becomes available.

Frankfurt is a lovely fantastic city, but unlike many other European cities doesn't have many sights for tourists to visit. Even though Romerberg has a little Disney land like appearance since all these buildings were rebuilt after the war, it is still my favorite square in Frankfurt and is a great place to have a drink or meal, snap some pictures and enjoy the scenery.

(Detailed review below) Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambiance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accessibility ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cost ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited this historical square in December for their Christmas markets and it's fantastic! Great selection of stalls from hot food to crafts that make perfect presents/gifts. It's quite nicely spread out which is great because the weekend crowd is huge and you're literally shoulder to shoulder with others. If you have mobility issues best to visit during weekdays and in the day time to avoid the crowd! Great photo opportunities too what with the lovely buildings in the background! Definitely a must to visit!

Nice place. Visited a few bars and was surprised to see smoking was allowed.. we would have stayed longer as the beer was lovely, staff were great, location great. But the smoke did put us of. It was to cold to sit outside. But we would go back once it's warm enough to stay outside

Set in the heart of Frankfurt's Old Town (Altstadt), the Römerberg is an irregularly shaped square with the Justice Fountain at its center. Not only is it Frankfurt's most picturesque public square, it's the city's busiest pedestrian zone and home to numerous tourist attractions and fun things to do, including Christmas markets and other events.

  • 4/5 Frank H. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful buildings that surround the old market place in Frankfurt's Altstadt. Just a cross the Main River esplanade. Plenty of cafes, eateries and restaurants at the place and nearby. Great for a short stroll, but doesn't have the warm, lifely and exciting atmosphere of old market places of other cities, like Koblenz, Köln or Düsseldorf.

Romerberg is also called The New Old Town. It's located not far from the Frankfurt central main station. There are also many things to see around the town such as Cathedral, iron bridge, museums, etc. From there, you can have a stroll along the river. You won't regret when you hang out by the river

Very lively and dynamic place. Absolutely beautiful in terms of the juxtaposing of old and new architecture. The museum within is also a beautifully done piece of architecture wedged between old structures. We were there on a holiday so all the shops were closed and yet, the area was full of people/ visitors/ street performers. Loved it.

Loved the beautiful houses with their red and brown contrast coloring. The square was busy and there had been an event in the area, with scaffolding and trucks blocking some pics. Lovely eateries in close proximity. Many places cash only-check before you order.

Very populated and beautiful area. Absolutely stunning architecture and great for pictures. You can find an assortment of restaurants and shops here. Along with the new architecture and painted buildings there are also huge historical castle-like buildings that we found while touring around the area. Going through the alleys also caught some good pictures.
