Habe hier zwischen zwei Terminen ein Getränk bestellt. Das Ambiente gefiel mir gut. Historisches Gebäude. Man kann drinnen oder sitzen und speisen. Perfekte zentrale Lage.

The worst restaurant ever. Unfriendly staff. We had been waiting for somebody to take order about 20 minutes, finally we had to call waiter ourselves. Food was not tasty in contrast to other places in Frankfurt and Germany. At the end we asked for a bill and had been waiting for a long time, waiter continued to serve other clients and forgot about us. And again we had to come to manager ourselves and asked for pay. Service fee was automatically included in a bill but this service was the worst in our experience. A staff forbade us to take a food away. Absolutely not recommended restaurant for visiting

It seemed to me that it would be nice to sit in the garden in summer. the ambiance also made it an impression. prices are high. customer profile is also high. There is no shortage of transportation, right in the center of the city. parking problem also needs to solve the surrounding area. the staff is striving to be meticulous.

This cafe was located in the middle of the square, attracting my attention immediately when I arrived at the city center from the airport. The sausage, sauerkraut, and cup of coffee I had here were authentic German ones and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Ah Cafe Hauptwache. We saw it during the day and it looked beautiful. So we stopped in later and had dinner there. I had the meatballs and my wife and the frankfurter sauce original. The sauce on my meatballs was awesome. My wife loved the potato salad. (I don’t eat potato salad so I didn’t try it). We had the green sauce as well. I really enjoyed my meatballs. I say plates from other tables and they looked good as well. Service was nice and friendly. Big bathrooms downstairs, that was nice. Cafe Hauptwache is a nice place to chill and enjoy yourself.

Worst customer service by far during our stay in Frankfurt yet 10% service fee is automatically included in the bill which is totally absurd. TIP: Always ask for the bill before paying cause they would rob you off if you don’t! This cafe is taking advantage of foreigners so I advise bringing along a German speaking friend with you when you visit. Otherwise get ready to be fooled by their deceiving waiters. What a disappointment!

Bad experience 8pm 20 June 2023: Ordered the pork sausage but served with meatballs instead. We took the meatballs (maybe worth to try) and still ordered the pork sausage again, but it never came. Ordered small bottled water, served the big one, waiter said they cannot do anything about it. Requested the bill, they just mentioned the price without showing the bill initially. After requesting to see the actual bill the 2nd time, I saw a handwritten, forced 10% tip in the receipt, without asking, after all the bad service! Never coming back to this place again

Really nice large patio, good for people watching. Menus in German and English. Decent prices for drinks. The goulash soup is very good there, the pizza was a miss for us. Service is friendly. The building also has an interesting history you can read about.

Verleiten gelassen von dem schönen Platz in der Sonne haben wir uns nach 3 Stunden Fahrt dort nieder gelassen. Kellner super unfreundlich. Wollte uns keine Karte bringen, wir mussten die Karte digital downloaden. Getränke waren okay, kann man nichts sagen. Es hieß 30 Minuten Wartezeit für die Speisen. Gewartet haben wir 50 Minuten um dann lauwarm bis kaltes Essen serviert zu bekommen. Wir haben reklamiert. Ein Mitarbeiter kam und sagte wir müssten das bezahlen, weil wir schon zu viel gegessen hätten. Das Fleisch auf dem Burger war so winzig, dass ich erst 2 Mal abschneiden musste vom Brötchen, bis ich ans Fleisch kam. Ebenso hatten wir einen Flammkuchen, genauso kalt. 1 Stückchen wurde gegessen. Aus "Kulanz" wollte man uns 15€ Skonto gewähren. Somit wollte man von uns noch 19€ für 2 Getränke und kaltes Mittagessen. Diskussion ohne Ende. Und die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter könne der Redensführer "heute auch nicht beeinflussen". Wir haben 13€ auf den Tisch geknallt und sind wutentbrannt gegangen. ABSOLUT NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN.

It is one of the best cafes in downtown Frankfurt. I used to come there before going to work , have coffee with ice cream. Usually , waitresses were always fast and friendly

There are no restrooms inside, only container outside and not so nice. You need to ask for the key for the restroom, which is attached to a used disgusting plastic bottle. Not all staff are friendly, appreciate that they are too busy, the quality of service is important though.

Service was bad, we waited 30min for a cappuccino only to have the waitress come and take our order again, because she forgot we ordered. Apart from that, the location is good, the coffee was mediocre, but not bad in any case. Prices are what you can expect from such a location.

Unfortunately, tonight experience was bit disappointing for not having a quality food - THE KITCHEN IS UNDER RENOVATION UNTIL END-FEBRUARY.🤦🏼‍♀️ So I guess they will not see us next month too. Until they have the Kitchen back, proper dining in is not the best choice due to limited but you can drink though!😉

Soups was nice but l would recommend hauptwache soup.(white one)also waffle bread looks good and big

Place looks nice from outside. Service is poor, food taste is low - like cheapest supermarket sausage and shukrut just heated and served. Wi-Fi available only for their office use. And the cherry on a cake is the washroom - you have to pay in order to use it 👍 amazing recommend tourists just avoid this cafe.

Great location, good ambiance and perfect place to chill in between shopping My 1 star rating is because of the poor service. We waited over an hour for beers and French fries. Unacceptable, but overall good place with good selection of drinks and quick bites

Very lively place located right at the central location of Hauptwache. It’s really very big and can accommodate a lot of people. I thoroughly enjoyed their ambiance and service.

A truly terrible experience. Waited 20 minutes to even get the offer to order. Then finally my chance came! But, the guy who took the order got it wrong three times! Then, after waiting for another fifteen mins, he came back, asked if I had ordered. He repeated our order back to me and that was not only wrong, but the final straw, so I left without a drink and very disappointed!!!!

Nice place to go and sit in the square to watch the world go by. Quite friendly staff, and not too overpriced, didnt eat but the food looked pretty good. Had a few beers and took in all the wonderful frankfurt skyline and building that shoot up around this area. There was a festival happening in this square when we were there so actually sitting here is a bit of a reprieve to get away from the crowds.. and the wasps, for few minutes. Recommended

Ein schöner sonniger Ort, daher hat der Service auch nicht nötig sich zu bemühen. Aber den Tee habe ich Lauwarm bekommen. Der hat nur wie Wasser geschmeckt. Den habe ich nicht getrunken. Als ich den Betriebsleiter darauf angesprochen habe, hat er gemeint, dass er nichts machen kann , den Tee muss ich bezahlen. Absolute Unverschämtheit.

We ordered meatballs and schnitzel. The portion was fine but we didn’t like the taste of meatballs. We expected it to be more tasty like swedish meatballs. The schnitzel also was very thick and hard to cut. We expected it to be juicier. The green sauce was great.

Went with doggies to have a late breakfast Acaibowl. The bowl was tastefull. I’m used to eating it realy cold. This one was served at room temperature! Drank a jazmin tea! Dogs were welkom and got a bowl of water. Personel was friendly and brief. Can’t remember whether there was music, so I think it didn’t disturb me. As we sat outside on the terras we where kind of hindered by all the police cars passing by with sirens on.

Too expensive given the little amount of food you get. We ordered a goulash, a tarte and a capuccino, they were all overpriced. Friendly staff and good ambience though.

Great beer, great schnitzel, great place. Well worth the visit and location is easy to get to.

Great central location. Kitchen was limited as lots of dishes were not available (sold out ?). Some dishes are overpriced and not much good in the plate. Bad service. After asking the bill, the staff came and announced the price on the credit card machine without showing the bill. We requested the detailed bill and the announced price was pumped up. Would not recommand.

Service is not cultural. We ordered food twice and we didn't get what we ordered correctly. Two times we were mistaken with drinks that we didn't ordered. We ordered food but after receiving food and telling about wrongly food, waiter said that for sure we ordered what she bring us. We had to wait 20 minutes for paying, after also asking twice for it

WORSE waiter we ever had in our life. Indian waiter on Tuesday night. He gave us the wrong drink Then he said they didn't have all the ingredients for the drink and when we asked if we could change it he said no and just walked away. He made some other rude remarks and hand signals. Making a snark remark about why someone does not order an alcoholic beverage. Later we said he gave us something else from the menu and he said they didn't have it on the menu. When we showed him the menu he started arguing with us instead of just saying he made a mistake. We were never treated so disrespectfully and when we gave him his own attitude back he told US to be respectful. All we wanted was a new drink. We will make sure to tag our influencer friends to not go here ever. On top of that it was EXPENSIVE.

Very beautiful place in the center of Hauptwache, tasty and yummy food!!!

Nice location in the centre of the city. I had just a salad with goat cheese which was well presented and tasty as well as the bread accompanying it. Price ok compared to the ones in Frankfurt. Only 4 stars since the table was not clean properly (it was sticky in the corner) and they should pay more attention to respect the COVID19 social distance foreseen in restaurants.

Nice cafe in one of the most famous historical buildings of the city (the main guard house, or Hauptwache). Tasty food - you can find all the traditional Frankfurt dishes here, fast and friendly service. Credit cards are accepted without any (stupid) limitations - that is an important point in south Germany.

The serving was awful, the waitress laughed in my face when I refused to order a water for 8€. The food was undercooked, and instead of accepting they did it wrong, they started to argue with us that ia normal. A lot of better places to eat, stay away.

The service was very bad, 0 hospitality. The pork meat that I ordered was raw, when I told them they said it’s cooked normal…Also, the waitress laughed at us when we ordered the cheaper bottle of water, she was very unprofessional. Not recommend.

Horrible experience! We ordered schnitzel and fish and chips. Schnitzel was so dry and fish was smelling so bad. I talked about that with waitress. She was sor rude. She said we cant take back the foods and you have to pay for this. NEVER EVER AGAINNN!

We did the Covid-test 24h and 10min before to take a table in this place on OPEN AIR. We were simply kicked off because of the 10min. This was our 3d place we visited today and nowhere was necessary a Covid-test on OPEN AIR. What a shame!!

It has a great location, the building itself has long history. The coffee is good, the environment is warm.

The food was cooked fresh, well seasoned, and overall very tasty. The waiter was incredibly patient with my horrible German and very friendly. I will definitely go again.

In the heart of Frankfurt, in the hustle and bustle of Happoache, it is very interesting to sit here and have a drink and relieve your fatigue. Nice staff and they are so busy

Service could be better but I have to say the Apfelkuchen was amazing. Also great to be in a historic building in the city. The place exists since 1671 apparently, it has been rebuild several times, being a guard station and now-a-days it's the oldest coffe shop in Frankfurt.

A historical former police station. Good atmosphere. In the square. Good food, worth price. Waitresses are friendly.

I asked the waiter "can you tell me the WiFi code?" And the answer was "no" and he was angry.. just "no" without an explanation. I had never reserved that kind of rudeness again anywhere. Unfortunately I can't give 0 star.

The place is very nice, a bit crowded but nice. I eat a piece of cake but unfortunately was not good I don't know exactly what was it but it taste strange. However I eat a soup which was very very tasty. The service was ok but still could improve and last but not so nice is that the Toilette was very dirty.

Overpriced tourist spot with limited menu, but the food is actually solid. They do serve various local classics including the apple wine - Not to be confused with cider. The stuff is mostly attentive. The interior clean, the location is pretty good.

This is a lovely place in a beautiful town part. I have been there before and the food is very good. But today the service was below every norm. We waited to be served for 35 to 40 min and when I finally asked a member of staff if they will serve us, he said that a colleague will come. Then we heard them talking behind us (not realizing that we actually understand German also) and the woman said that she doesn't serve these tables, those are someone else's. The man then asked another female colleague and she also said that she is not responsible and will not take the order. And that was it - we just stood up and walked away to another place where we where served right away. I do not beg to be served, I am the client and ultimately I am the one paying for the food/drink and services. And when I am left waiting, I ultimately will go elsewhere.

Good was good and service was very good. The grünsoße was quite good. The salad had too much dressing for my taste. The atmosphere has nothing special but it is peasant.

I was there with a friend at midday Saturday, peak time. The cafe was full but the service was quick and friendly. The Beyond burger with fries was delicious and also the espresso. They have art books to look at. Very nice.

Really nice location at the beginning of the Zeil. Great place to sit in the sunshine even in winter times as porch is heated via radiant heaters. Service is very attentive and friendly. The menu is very broad and of high quality.

Nice place to have lunch. The interior and atmosphere was very good. The waiters were also very nice and welcoming. From my experience, I would advise you to make larger portions, because for the price you pay, the portions are quite small, but I would definitely visit this place again.

Food: 7/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Great spot for a quick meal with some German cuisine. I stopped here for a relaxing lunch in Frankfurt during my visit. They had plenty of outdoor seating available in the main square. I ordered a glass of Apfelwein to start, followed by some Frankfurter sausages, potato salad and sauerkraut. Great spot to meet up with friends or enjoy a nice lunch in the city. If I could come back, I would try the schnitzel or the green sauce with eggs.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to try the food here but was able to enjoy a Pils on their spacious patio. Server was friendly, though a bit spread out as the 2nd beer took a little while to get to me. All-in-all, a very nice cozy place to hangout and enjoy the surrounding architecture Frankfurt offers.

Good food and nice cakes. The schnitzel and fish & chips were good. Service was a little slow and we could not order drinks to any member of the staff, just to our waitress.
