This bridge has gorgeous views of the river and the buildings that line each side of the river. There's also restaurants and bars on either side of the bridge that are only a short walk away from the entrance. The bridge also has "love locks" from couples all along the bridge so it's a great option to take a date and do something romantic! You can also bring beers as you walk along the bridge. It's pretty cold walking across the bridge in the winter, so I would recommend to wear warm clothing and definitely bring some gloves!

Incredible place with great view for all of the city. Visited it during the day and the night and was impressed. Obviously it’s crowded. So keep in mind.

Eiserner Steg, the iconic Iron Footbridge in Frankfurt, is a magnetic attraction that gracefully spans the River Main, offering a picturesque link between the historic Römer district and the trendy Sachsenhausen neighborhood. This pedestrian bridge, with its intricate ironwork and panoramic views, is a symbol of Frankfurt's charm. The Eiserner Steg provides an ideal vantage point for capturing the city's skyline, especially during sunset when the lights of Frankfurt come to life. The love locks adorning the bridge add a touch of romance, making it a popular spot for couples and tourists alike. Strolling along this bridge is a serene experience, with the gentle flow of the River Main below and the city's skyline as a backdrop. Adjacent to the bridge, the riverbanks offer opportunities for leisurely walks and exploration. The Eiserner Steg seamlessly integrates historical significance with modern aesthetics, making it a must-visit landmark in Frankfurt. Whether you're seeking a romantic moment, a scenic photo opportunity, or a peaceful escape, the Eiserner Steg invites you to immerse yourself in the unique blend of culture and beauty that defines this vibrant German city.

The Love Lock Bridge-----must see across the Main river. Smaller foot bridge with locks lining both sides of the bridge. Locks which supposedly symbolize " everlasting" love. Beautiful views of downtown Frankfurt from this bridge. Easy access from both sides of the bridges to river walks along both sides of the Main River. Selfie spot for sure.

Nice bridge with all the Love locks on it. Nice view towards old town, there are some bars in neighborhood to have a rest as well. This is the way to Main promenade, which is even nicer. A lot of people on the bridge, walking around. Very close to the old town and worth a visit.

A beautiful bridge across the river Main. The highlight for the city of Frankfurt. The bridge postulates the connection between the old and the new city. On one side of the bank, you would see on the left tall high raised buildings and on the right you would see very old building. On the other hand, you look at two banks in general you would see two forms of life. On one bank you would see work and other you see fun and happiness. A beautiful portrayal of life. The bridge itself better viewed during a summer night when the entire city of Frankfurt is lit and view is amazing.

Viele Paare bringen hier Schlösser an - soll Glück bringen. Auch perfekt geeignet um Bilder zu machen.

The Iron bridge is a must visit for anyone who visits Frankfurt. It is the oldest bridge in Frankfurt and c onnects Frankfurt to the Sachsenhausen area of Frankfurt. An important piece of Frankfurt history. From the bridge one can get panoramic views of the Frankfurt skyline and also amazing pictures with the Frankfurt skyline in the background. Under the bridge flows the Main river and after crossing the bridge one can enjoy a relaxing time at the river Main shore.

Went to visit this bridge today. I really enjoyed seeing the locks on the bridge. I enjoyed seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they looked at the locks. Standing on the bridge and just taking in the sights was very peaceful. I’d go again.

Fantastic metal bridge to get across Main River, between the two shores. There's plenty of locks on the bridge. It's very close to the main promenade and old town.

The love lock bridge has to be one of the most romantic spots after sunset here in Frankfurt - though I have read how such tons and tons of locks being placed on bridges around the world actually pose a real risk to the bridge. What’s more interesting is the sight of the city from both sides of the bridge and the cruises on river Rhine - a sight to behold to round up the tour in Frankfurt.

Highly effective bridge, can get from one side to the other without getting wet. Covered in love locks, and a beautiful view of old buildings in the city. One side of the bridge does have a lot of stairs, so I was thankful for an elevator, and all the street art available to peruse while riding said elevator.

I walked onto this bridge at sunset and it was just magical. Someone was playing an accordion, the sky was beautiful and the whole vibe felt alive and inspiring. Loved all the locks everywhere. Each one has a story to tell.

This is great fun. Everyone should see this. Some of these pictures were take just after we flew into Frankfurt. During the trip my wife had a lock made up (it was a surprise) that we added on our way home. This bridge is great fun and I see the "lock tradition" is catching on in other locations.

Iron Footbridge is a good location for visit and check in. It is better than you can visit at afternoon with park and river. It is good place for doing excercise. The Bridge look very nice with old design and atmostphere. You can stan on the bridge and see the Frankfurt city sight. Note: There are plenty of love lock on the bridge.

This bridge is an impressive structure that spans the Rhine river, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Whether you're interested in taking in the natural beauty of the region or exploring the nearby town of Frankfurt, this bridge is the perfect place to do it. The Iron Footbridge is also home to a unique attraction: locks. Visitors have placed countless locks on the bridge as a symbol of their love and commitment to one another.

A nice walk to a historic bridge over the river. Filled with love locks, tags and stickers, it's a great way to take in the energy of the city and see the skyline of Frankfurt.

The Iron Foot Bridge is very beautifully built robust bridge. Its architecture is attractive. People enjoy scenic beauty of Main river. Ships passes by the river, cool breeze flows through out the day and night. An unique practice I have observed here. People puts lock on the bridge iron pieces and wish something good for themselves. It is faith of the people. So, thousands of lock found fixed on the bridge.

Very nice and touristy place you must visit if you ever go to Frankfurt! A beautiful view over the Main-hatten Skyline, and with beautiful restaurants along the river. The sun sets right behind the skyline, lending it to some awesome photography.

Amazing little bridge, but please don't compare it to Brooklyn bridge. Loved it there. There is an elevator also, and I loved the little locks on the bridge.

Whenever we have guests, we take them to the Römer/Dom in Frankfurt AM then to the Eiserneg Steg or Iron Footbridge on the River Main. This bridge gives you a view to some ofvthe skyscrapers in Frankfurt. Then at the other side of the river, we have snacks on one of the two restaurants offering lovely views to the city.

Nice to walk on during the night to see the city lights over the water. Nothing much to do around though but good to visit for a short stay. Looks good for pictures and photography. Theres also a lift to go up.

From here you have beautiful views of the city and Main river. Generally, the city is nice, exciting and cosmopolitian however you can see negative images at area of the Central Station: homeless poeple, idle immigrants, drunkers...

We walked cross the bridge and then took a boat ride along the river. It was really fun. They have 60 or 90 minutes rides. You can buy food and drinks on board. We chose the 90 minutes ride which was more scenery and gave us time to relax and rest our tired legs. Frankfurt was enjoyable city.

  • 5/5 Awani R. 2 years ago on Google
Love the vibe of the entire riverside! The bridge gives a beautiful view of the river Main and the city around. There are benches and clean grass on both sides of the river, a perfect place to hangout with family and friends.

Amazing view of the Frankfurt skyline. During the day you can enjoy some street music performers. And there is a guy who would engrave locks with your name to hang on the bridge.
