My fiancé had heart pain, with heart rate dropping to 42 and as high as 145, clammy, cold to the touch, and tingles in left arm. These unprofessional monkeys showed 0 empathy and had us waiting going on 3 hours in the waiting room with his arms ice cold and him breaking out on cold sweats/being two shades of gray without checking up on him. I finally left and went to a different emergency room that saw him immediately with the urge his condition deserved. I can not tell you...how unempathetic the staff at Mercy was. It was shocking....and I've been to a lot of hospitals. I'm used to tough nurses, my step-mother is a retired nurse. The lack of humanity/concern I and countless others that were there received here is unreal. It wasn't "Gee we're really busy please wait" with people rushing around. NO ONE was rushing anybody, the staff laughing and talking about movies and relationships and whatever else. A doctor came out WHISTLING to ask a nurse about something. Meanwhile my world is sitting beside me in pain and in peril. I'm considering seeking legal council if something happens to him because of their neglect.

I should not have to hold up my husbands limp body as he goes unconscious in the waiting room after being brought by ambulance over an hour ago. I tell the people at the front desk that he keeps going unconscious and she tells me it doesn’t matter. He can no longer walk or talk 27 and healthy before this and no one here will help him. Christy at the front desk is extremely rude and even claimed that she did not care that he was unconscious … not a precessional thing to say.

9/6/23 5:30 pm. Came by ambulance unable to walk or speak only screaming in pain. They left me in the waiting room with the blonde girls at the desk just watching me cry out. They kept taking back people that could walk and talk and looked perfectly fine while i sat in a wheelchair in screaming pain. I lost consciousness a few times and no one came over to admit me saying the rooms were full. Lost feeling in legs completely still shaking and losing consciousness, don’t come here for an emergency they will just leave you in the waiting room to die.

Front desk help in morning/afternoon is absolutely absurd. Their attitude towards patients and their families is awful. Their faces are full of disgust and just plain ugly Popppp They should have happy faces love, and kindness in their hearts. They need to treat people as though they’re their own family members. They need to be reprimanded or fired and hire kind people who enjoy working for the public.

I am currently sitting in the ER where I have been for the last 5 hours with an IV in my arm. I was told there would be a little wait, however I think a realistic wait time should be given and an IV should not be placed immediately if a patient will need to wait for over 5 hours. I am pregnant, suffering from extreme nausea and severe back pain. I would have gladly went somewhere else if given a realistic wait time.

Been to the er 5 days in a row horrible pain. Obviously I'm not getting any better I keep coming back. Obviously there is something wrong. I do not recommend relying on this place for emergency care. Also had a fractured bone several months ago that I was told by the er wasn't broke. I think they do a horrible job at reading images like x ray and CT scans.

I like how they get things started right when you come in. It really makes things a lot faster. I really enjoy coming here opposed to other places. Just a couple area to improve though. I had just had trouble with one of the nurses fishing from my vein. I do not like that and I usually don’t have a problem anywhere else except after covid really. I don’t know if it was just the people I came across the last couple years or not. Just hard to say I guess. I feel like there should be a backup nurse or phlebotomist there as well so they can take care of the patients better. And they don’t even do the whole skill right at most places. I was a cma before and it can be difficult, but if it’s your job, it’s your job and you need to do it safely. None of that checking the pulse after using the alcohol. The second complaint is the dr I saw back in February said my liver enzymes were high, and just said to diet. Well, I didn’t know what that meant. I did diet, and while the enzyme tests are mostly in range now, I still believe that failing to tell someone that they have liver disease is kinda careless. You can’t just say go on a diet. Get a nutritionist or something. I am now, but the ER visit was a waste of time and money really. Now it’s two whole months later and I’m hurting worse probably because I didn’t understand the severity and everyone acts like it’s not a big deal when it certainly is for me. “Oh just diet.” Like you do know that doesn’t really tell you that much?? Right? So I’m finally getting the ct scan I need when they could have done it months ago and hopefully I’m not that much worse off now.

This was my first time ever in mercy. We usually go to baptist. While taking our two year old for a well child check he started throwing up multiple times and we happened to be near mercy. So we took him there. I was so upset cause he was throwing up a lot. The wait time wasn’t that long but I hope they’d seen him earlier. They did all the tests on him and the PA and the RN and the rest of the staff helping out was good. I just read the bad reviews this hospital has and I thank God it didn’t happen with us to the extent people have been treated badly here.I didn’t give full 5 stars cause they definitely do not operate at a emergency level speed.

I don't normally do reviews but this time is different. I went into Mercy ER when I had stomach pain that radiated from my belly to my back. I thought it was my appendix but the Emergency Room doctor told me that was in the gallbladder region. Sure enough a ultrasound confirmed I had multiple small gallstones and the ER doctor recommended surgery. Good thing not only were there stones my gallbladder was scarred and in really bad shape. The care at this facility for my ER visit was amazing, the nurses were kind and gentle, the doctor was very knowledgeable and to the point, the ultrasound tech was gentle and I knew within a minute what was wrong. I had zero wait time to be seen, and by the time I was wheeled from ultrasound to my room, the doctor was already waiting for me! I highly recommend this ER!

If I could give them a lower rating, I would. My Sister has a very uncommon syndrome that we've been dealing with for the past 25+ years, which require an unfortunate amount of visits to the ER. OU Edmond is our closes ER and have an amazing staff, but unfortunately her insurance wont cover visits to that location. It took 3 ER visits, 3 extremely rude nurses and 2 uninterested Doctors, to finally get a Dr. who would listen to their patient and actually do something to shorten the longevity of her episode. On top of all of that, the nurses and staff at the nurses station were loud, maybe having a party? I understand trying to pass the time when working long hours, but any noise at that level after 11PM anywhere is just rude and inappropriate in a place where people are already feeling terrible and are trying sleep and heal. We now know we have to be one of those "difficult" people to get the proper care at this Emergency Room. May the odds of getting good people to help you be ever in your favor.

Been waiting 2 hrs with BP 160/110. People throwing up, kids crying in pain and one falling out and only one one person has been called back in 2 hours. A girl who's been moaning in pain this whole time said she's been waiting for a whole hours before us (3 total). The waiting room is packed and still no signs of movement. How ill-equipped can an emergency room be?

No help at all, will never come back here. They don’t care about patients. Will say anything, no real solution to the problems I was having. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Christmas Eve you would think a ER would be opened. They were not. I walked around hospital and asked a worker where er was because it was confusing. All the doors were opened and I walked into the ER department but lights were off and no one was there.

If I could give it a zero I would. First of all it took me 4 years to write this review but the place still haunts me. 4 years ago I went to Mercy because I was 3-4 months pregnant and spotting. I waited in the ER for what felt like a lifetime, truthfully it was several hours before I was seen with a half empty waiting room. The ultrasound lady had me lay on the bed and propped my legs wide open without a cover. My husband stood next to me as she GOUGED the ultrasound wand into me. I am very aware that you must assert some pressure but she was over the top. When I cried that it was very painful, she continued without saying a word watching the monitor she had towards her. As she continued to stick the wand into me and GOUGING more, I began bleeding profusely. It was literally pouring out. She continued with no expression, no sympathy, no words, no towel. With blood pouring out of me and no covers I was in plain sight for my husband to witness the end of our pregnancy in unedited view. She stared at the screen and with certainly stated " there's no vitals". Confused again as I thought the ultra sound technician was supposed to inform the nurse or Dr of the findings and that was who was to tell me the results. ?!?!?!?!?! I asked her if I could please see my baby and she rudly said NO that I was not allowed to. I was confused, my husband was confused. The look on his face;(. I said why can I not see it? She then said very matter of factly.... because you're in the ER, as she wrapped up her equipment preparing to exit. The nurse entered afterward but truthfully after this.... it was a blur..... a total nightmare..... I am so angry with MYSELF for not demanding a supervisor or even getting my grievance out when it happened. Because of this..... I feel permanently scared from having treatment at any of their locations. Not because I lost this pregnancy, but because there was NOT A DROP of compassion. I am aware that Mercy probably has some very nice and good Dr's and nurses but I just can't get over how cold and uncaring this lady was.

For the most part, staff was friendly but the place was operating at a non emergency speed. I know that it is first come, first served, but when someone comes in with extreme pain and you could easily do something about it instead of making them wait forever in pain - both in the waiting area (tormented with tennis on TV) plus another extremely long wait once in the room. All that time wasted on one person waiting in the emergency room just means more time people are waiting for their turn to slowly get treated. I (safely) ran stop lights to get my friend there in a hurry so he could watch hours of tennis. Watching Tennis and enjoying kidney stones. That's like hot beer and ice cream. The two don't mix. So, at least be truthful and change the sign so it says "NON-EMERGENCY" so there is no confusion.

I had a case of food poisoning from a 6pm dinner. After many, many, many trips to the bathroom, I retained severe stomach and abdominal pain. Finally, at 4am I decided it was time to seek professional help. I drove to the Mercy Hospital ED and was in an exam room within 10 minutes. I received great care from both the nurses and doctors. They quickly got the pain under control and ran the required tests. My condition was caused by my dinner and there was no other serious issue. I was able to go home at 7am without pain and the peace of mind that I was going to be okay. Appreciated the caring attention and timely responses to my needs. All in all, a very positive experience.

Earlier this month I took my mother to this ER for worsening symptoms of UTI which had already been confirmed and was being treated. The ER doctor (Dr.Jesse Hill) was less than helpful. He claimed that the UTI test came back negative and that all her behavior (hallucinations/delusions) was simply something psychological and that wasn't his department. There was almost never anyone available to help with my mother when she needed something. Only one nurse, (not even the one assigned to my mother) Tina, was any help. I was up there from about 12:45am until 7:30am, but had to go home to get some rest and unfortunately didn't have anyone to relieve me and stay with my mother. The case worker, Kaya, was also a helpful staff member I will praise. But communication was terrible and they never called me when they were supposed to when my mother got transferred to a behavioral health facility. On top of that, the staff nerver administrator her meds to her during the day. So, when she arrived at the behavioral health facility, her blood sugar was in the 400s (she is type 2 diabetic ). I will never be using this ER again if I can help it. That level of service is shameful.
