As with every other comment, the customer service was horrific. How can you have bad customer service when you are at a buffet? You are getting your own food. The only time you have to interact with anyone is when you pay, when a person get food from behind the bar, or the waitress. You have three people to interact with at most. But yet today was horrible. My husband had asked for a thicker slice of ham but was rudely told no. When he said he no longer was interested in the ham the lady behind the counter began to follow him. At this point he took a photo of the slice of ham for reference. The lady followed my husband back to the table and began harassing him and told us to leave! We refused as a second manager came over: this must be the infamous manager that has been mentioned in almost every negative review I've read thus far. At this point she began to tell us that we needed to leave, at this point I stated we have done nothing wrong and that if he would have gotten his slice of ham cut to the proper thickness none of this would have been an issue. The two leave and about 7 minutes later one of the managers brings a cut of ham the thickness that my husband asked for the first time. Upon her return she was nicer to my husband regarding this issue. So for the third visit by a quote unquote manager just to be harassed and told to leave twice just to get a thicker slice of ham. If they are willing to risk losing customers due to the thickness of a ham slice they deserve to close. We will no longer be going to this establishment.

I was super hesitant to come here just because I read the reviews and a lot of them weren’t positive. I still went, and I absolutely loved this Golden Corral. As soon as you come in, its very very clean. Theres no food or papers or anything on the floor. The tables were clean, My family and I had a great time. I was extremely surprised at the amount of new food items that they have. Thats the #1 thing I really liked about this specific Golden Corral. They had so many different desserts as shown on the pictures. They also had a large amount of different fruits. And different types of pasta, meats, and rice. Nothing compared to the other Golden corrals (specially the one at independence MO) 🫣 This Golden Corral is the best. And Im glad they proved me wrong after reading all of those negative comments. Waitresses were super nice and the host was super friendly and welcomed my hispanic family as if they were their families too. Great Employees and Management. Best Golden Corral in the kc metro area. including independence mo. 100% Recommended!!!💯💯💯💯💯 Experience actually going and not just letting people tell you about it.

The food was great. Went with my daughter and two grandchildren, we all enjoyed our food , BUT the service was absolutely horrible! Our waitress only came to the table a few times , our drinks glasses sat empty most of the time and NO the place was not busy. Won’t be back!!

Really good Buffet with a good variety of meals. Dessert section is mean. Really good cakes and the Bread Pudding is amazing! Carrot Cake is also something I'd grab again every time i go there! Staff was suuuper friendly and the lady was really taking care of our drinks amd empty plates.

We went to this Golden Corral tonight, we were very hesitant due to the bad reviews, but we were hungry and the kids needed to eat ASAP. The 6 of us walked in and were greeted, the restaurant was really clean , granted the place wasn't packed but it was about 75% full. The food was amazing, this was the best Golden Corral experience we have ever had. We are buffet people, if there is a normal restaurant or a buffet, we will choose the buffet every time. Everything was hot and fresh and if they were low on something we just asked for more and they brought it right out. The steak was cooked to perfection and they gave big chunks not 2-3 slivers like I have seen at other places. My mom and sister got med/rare and I got Medium. Both were melt in your mouth great. Seasoned to perfection, I had three giant servings bc it was so good everytime. Everything else was great as well, the salad was fresh, along with veggies, tacos, soups, fried chicken, Mash potatoes were on point, with fresh made brown gravy not canned nastiness. We will definitely be back to this location. Skip the negativity and check this place out for yourself. If it happens that people might be rude, look at the whole situation and give others the benefit of the doubt. Every place in America is understaffed be thankful that some showed up to work so you could stuff your face with food. Always remember to say "Thank You" and treat others like you want to be treated. Especially if your day isn't going the way you planned it to go, you certainly wouldn't want someone judging you when you are having a bad day.

They have gone down in quality I believe. I was not impressed. The woman that greeted me and got my drinks as well as I paid for my meal was cold and harsh. Didn't even make eye contact. The soups were horrid and luke warm. The fried chicken was good but borderline under cooked.The deserts tasted like plastic and the chocolate fountain was gone. My waitress looked like she had been run ragged but she was a sweetheart at least. The only decent part of my experience.

I only came here because it was father's day and a family member wanted to come. We get there and they are out of ice at the front. Drinks are flat. They forget to give us an appropriate amount of silverware. Service at the front is not so friendly. They sit us in the "back" which is like a private room to the left of the entrance. We are a party of 7. Our table clearly hasn't been wiped. So we grab some napkins and clean it ourselves. Some plates have not been washed correctly so it took me a while to grab a good plate. Some plates look disgusting as they have scratches on them from previous people who used them and it looks like food is trapped inside those scratches. I would say only 20% of the food looked okay. The rest looked undercooked or just unflattering. Floor is so sticky! I think this place needs to close for a few days and do some deep cleaning in all areas. P.S. our total was $135 for 5 adults and 2 small children on fathers day dinner menu. Plus a tip that was given to the person who was working in the back room.

Restrooms were all clogged food was dry also that’s if there was any food lots off trays empty music in the restaurant was super loud like if I was in a club I bring my kids here the music that was playing in Spanish was saying nothing but cursing I’m Hispanic my self but my kids that are in elementary should not be hearing this especially in a family restaurant like this!!! I understand short staff but at least clean up the main floors! Food crums everywhere

It is impressive that they are so friendly, it is always clean, all the people who work there are very polite, there is very good food. I recommend it.

The buffet is really varied on Sunday morning. The salad bar is always great. Everything is fresh and tasty, again with lots of variety from fresh veggie toppings to prepared salads like potato and coleslaw. They also have a very good seafood salad. The fried chicken was fantastic, some of the best we've had. It had crispy skin but was moist and tender inside. The scrambled eggs were great, too. While it is a buffet, servers circulate through the dining area constantly checking to see if anyone needs drink refills or anything else.

Called ahead to see if they had shrimp and the answer was yes. We came up and they did not. Asked manager about it. She said she'd go check and never came back. Tracked her down and she was EXTREMELY rude. Talked to another employee and they weren't surprised about manager. Manager REFUSED to give her name. Obviously she knows awful she is

Good buffet with good meals or rather what I try I like.Their steak is really good and they have the best cinnamon roll I’ve tasted so far😊their carrot cake is also good if you don’t like a lot of sugar just scrape off the icing sugar cream topping

It was ok I guess. The food made my stomach hurt after I'm not sure if it wad the taco meat or what. They could also work on keeping it tidy. The waitress wad nice though

Used to be a good place, but not under the current management. Food quality is poor and selection diminished. While eating there today I witnessed a horrible interaction between managers and a customer. The managers were completely unprofessional, rude, condescending disrespectful and unwilling to work with the customer to resolve a simple issue over cold food. While the customer remained calm and respectful, management did not and created a scene. It was disgraceful and completely unnecessary. I'll never come here again.

Father's day was as busy as it gets but all the employees were working at top form and wait time was minimal and fresh food was plentiful. I did think the poor guy making the steaks could have used some help as he was super busy all the time. Management should supply him with an assistant to at least serve up the ham, ribs etc. He did an excellent job so reward him with some help

I have never had an issue with this location. The food has always been hot and plentiful. We have normally always gone on a weekday during lunch hour. The one thing that upsets me though is when I choose to go here with my husband and my child. I never know we're going here until the last minute. It's usually a last minute choice. And the fact that you can't or are given the option to say. Hey? Can I add a tip to my ticket or can I get cash back? Is really upsetting because I have had some exceptional? Waitresses and I just feel like c*** that I'm not able to tip them because I just don't have cash on me. I hope this is something that they can correct in the future but now that I know. I'm going to try to keep cash on me specifically for this reason.

Our waitress was spot on tho I kept having trouble hearing her! Speak up! And speak clearly! Us old folks are deaf in one ear and can't hear out the other, lol!! Awesome experience!!

It was great food, and the service was good until I got to the desert. All I wanted was cotton candy for my pregnant sister and my 4 year old cousin. The lady at the desert was rude and ignored us. I understand that there is a limit to one cotton candy per person. But I let her know that my sister was pregnant and was tired. The lady rolled her eyes and was rude. She said everyone had to come up for it, and I understand that, but she could clearly see my sister from where she stood. She also would hide in the back so anyone who came up for cotton candy wouldn’t be able to ask her for some, even though we could clearly see the already prepared bags of cotton candy. Hiding and ignoring customers is not okay, and neither is having an unhappy face as you talk to someone. Other than everything was good, especially the server.

We liked this location handy both where we were as well as our home. Black Friday, was busy but not overly so. Attentive waitress, and very clean.

I gave this place 3 stars because the staff was not very welcoming. There was one person as we were leaving that gave a warm goodbye. Disappointed that they no longer offer a veteran or military discount. One thing that stood out to me the most wa that I typically take photos of food, and I'm VERY cautious about not including guests and staff in them. There was a woman who was working in the bakery that scolded me for photographing the dessert. There are no signs that say do not photograph, so I was thrown off by that. The food is good for a buffet. The salad bar was the best and very fresh. The food was hot and restocked in a timely manner. It was extremely busy on a Saturday and a bit under staffed. I'm sure that is one reason the staff was not in a very good mood. It's definitely worth a trip, just not on Saturday.

It's Golden Corral. It's not fancy, it's not bad, it's a middle of the road buffet that offers something for the whole family. We have always found this location to be clean and the staff very friendly and (usually) pretty darn fast moving. (And if you didn't know, you can buy a box of fresh made rolls to take home!!)

Friendly staff. Delicious food. Yummy desserts. I had a wonderful time with my family. But I was disappointed with the cinnamon churros. They had no flavor at all.😔 Overall everthing was nice and delicious.

Was there for Military Appreciation night and despite being packed the food was kept well stocked and the wait staff did an excellent job getting tables cleared, people seated, and keeping drink glasses filled. The food was phenomenal. I've not had a better steak in a long time. It was cooked to perfection and was so delicious. All the other entrees were excellent and the sides as well. Thank you Golden Corral for offering free meals to veterans as a way of saying thanks for our service. It is greatly appreciated.

Lately golden Coral has been super busy during lunch time on Saturday. Today was no different. The chef who grills the steaks always makes great tasting steaks. Really enjoy the variety of food. Deserts really good and great variety

A good place if you are a big eater! Everything I ate was delicious! My main course was pot roast with all the veggies. The deserts all looked scrumptious, but when I spotted blueberry pie, that was my choice. Coming from New England, blueberry pie is rare in my travels here in NE Kansas. Service was good, removing used plates and getting our drinks. Parking is never a problem, although it is always crowded there.

Traveled about 2.5 hours and pulled in the parking lot hungry. The food was fresh, healthy and delicious. Wait staff kept my drink topped off. I ate a balanced meal and felt better after. Best Golden Corral I have been to ever.

The first thing I noticed as we walked in was the loud music. Am I walking into a bar?! I was expecting quiet, like every other Golden Corral I’ve ever been in. My parents commented on it too. My father wears a hearing aid, and it’s difficult for him to hear me when there is loud background noise. He also cannot raise his voice above normal levels, due to a surgery he once had. There were very few people. None were talking. Busy stuffing their faces. I asked the cashier if they could turn down the music. Said he would inform the manager. The music did stop. For 10 minutes. Then it came back on, same volume, but now a country station! Did they think I was complaining about the genre? Again, I ask for the music to be lowered. Nothing. Finally, I ask to speak to the manager. Nope. Too busy! Bars are loud. I get that. I find many restaurants, even high end places, are unfathomably loud. This seems to be due to them serving alcohol. People aren’t even really eating, just having drinks and talking excessively loudly. Is a quiet place to have dinner asking for too much? Well, at the Golden Corral in Olathe it is! BTW-The food and service were good. The staff has their own sound system in the back that was playing something else. Not an issue. The loud music was specifically for the dining area. The staff aren’t allowed to control it, only the manager! Just turn the stupid thing off! All you’re doing is annoying your customers. Apparently, management doesn’t care about that.

Management woman was absolutely, horrifically dehumanizing, lacked basic human decency and specifically stated "you sit you pay". I have a medical condition and requested to simply SIT with my family while they ate as my mom flew in from out of state to visit but was told I had to either wait in the car or be monitored by staff to ensure I did not consume anything while sitting with my family including my pre-purchased beverage I paid for upon entry.

Dinner here is amazing! The beef stew was perfect and sooo very tasty! My husband loves the pot roast with jalapeños! I also love their fresh salads and the fried fish with tartar sauce! These are essentials on my plate! I do wish they offer a better selection of desserts. The only thing my family likes are their cookies, otherwise the other desserts are to sweet or to dry.

Was great, great food and great selection. Took me and 2 others to eat during dinner and all 3 of us loved it. The staff was amazing and the price was reasonable. Great experience and will definitely be coming back.

I have never been treated so rudely by a store manager! I went to the buffet with my two daughters that are 15 and 17. I had a coupon for a free buffet for my youngest daughter's birthday. The cashier called the manager over when I presented the coupon. The manager insisted that my daughter show her an ID with her picture and name on it or she would not accept the coupon. I showed her my ID but she very rudely raised her voice and tells that is the wrong name, that she needed her ID and points to my daughter. I tried to explain that the coupon came to me and that her birthday was on my account. My daughter finally found a copy of her student ID and showed her that. She did not look at it, and when I tell her I have never been treated so rudely, says if you don't like it you can leave. She was adamant that she did not want to accept a coupon for a free buffet. This woman obviously did not want our business nor care how she came across to us or the other people in line behind us. I understand that times are hard by everyone to turn a profit, but I have never been treated so poorly. We left the buffet and went somewhere else to eat. I've lived in Olathe for 25 years and this was one of our favorite places to go for dinner and went here 5 to 6 times a year. I vow to never return to this restaurant as long as this store manager is working here. I will laugh when I see it close like 50% of their other restaurants already have.

Food was good and we beat the dinner rush I only gave 4 stars because one of my arms are paralyzed and there is no place to put my plate while getting my food...

It was ok, food was alright, since the Pandemic the food at Restaurants have been horrible to ok, It seems that the cooks have changed to cook that have no ideal about cooking. I'd rather cook at home myself, which is pretty much what I do now.

The reasoning for my 1 star review was due in part for the way the General manager handled my child in an unprofessional and over-dramatic way. She proceeded by angrily addressing my child (8 year old) to which then she made her cry during breakfast and made her feel uneasy and unsafe to enjoy a family meal/breakfast. There's a different way to address a child. I'm very disappointed. She could at least came out to apologize but she never did.
