Enjoyed my short stay here. I had visited for a day trip during a previous outing and thought it was just okay but on our camping trip my opinion was much different. Our first evening was full of beautiful views with a wonderful sunset in the background. The campgrounds is fairly kept well some of the sites do flood other then that my time here did leave a impression on me that was postive. There is a small town near by for your needs and Port Maitland is a great place near by to check out. The beach is small, its a mix with sand and small rocks with the other half being big rocks and seashells

Absolutely gorgeous and seriously underrated national park! So serene and quiet. The campsites are well maintained and so is the comfort station. The store was great and would recommend grabbing a scoop of grammy’s cupboard ice cream! The beach was stunning and the water was awesome! Wear water shoes because it’s rocky/shelly and filled with awesome fossils. Make sure to check out the lookout point too! Biggest recommendation is to watch the sunset at the beach and rise in the morning - absolutely stunning! Definitely a great camping experience for some peace and quiet!

We camped at a different park, but visited this park for the day as it was relatively close by. Sites all appeared to be good sizes. Can't remember the trail name but we did the one that took you to the rocks with all the fossils. It was a beautiful day to be down by the water and have a breeze coming off the lake. The fossils are really cool and I think most curious kids, and kids at heart would find this really cool. The trail continues to a stair case and look out, its worth the hike!

We really liked this park. Smaller park, camp store with ice cream, beach was nice, there was a little cove area that was calmer. showers were clean, trail was nice. Lots of pretty views of the lake from the trail. We loved that it was only 50 mins from hamilton.

This is a nice beach but needs more funding and a little TLC. This is evident in the amount of litter along the beach. Numerous plastic bottle lids, cigarette butts, personal hygiene plastic etc. The restrooms ( in P3 section) were worn and not even basically supplied. Point Farms, Long Point and Pinery Provincial park had clean beaches and stocked comfort stations with little to no litter this summer. There are a few picnic tables on the beach with the older metal frames. On the positive side, this is a quiet beach with loads of fossils although there was some algae in that area. A Northern watersnake crossed our path and the water was clear along the beach area. We saw monarchs migrating along the shoreline. The beach is primarily a mix of pebbles, shells in various stages of breaking down and sand. I would recommend waterproof footwear to access the water as the rocks underfoot are slippery. There is a separate dog area. This beach has a lot of potential it just needs some attention.

Spent 3 days 2 nights here with friends just to chill. The fossil corals are the thing to see here. But for me, it is to swim in Lake Erie since I don`t live in this part of Ontario. The lake water was clear and 20-21C temperature. For two mornings, am in the water early 7-8AM and am the only one in the beach/lake. Good place if you just want to camp, chill, eat, swim. #LakeErie #DiscoverOntario #Fossil #Coral #openwaterswimming

We had a day pass to visit friends who were camping there. They were very happy with their spot, and washroom facilities were conveniently located. The beach is gorgeous and if you're a rock hunter, there's plenty to choose from. Pokemon Go players there are stops and gyms but good luck with getting a signal strong enough to utilize them!

Camping here was just like camping at most Provincial parks. The sites are clean, average sized and well spaced out for privacy. The beach was gorgeous though. We loved exploring on the 'rock point' and finding fossils on it. The water was warm for swimming and plenty of space on the beach to set up for the day and play. The day use beach was the better swimming area. The staff was super helpful when I made a booking boo boo and accommodated us no problem! Will return soon.
