Limited parking on the emergency side of the hospital. I have had to go there several times. Sometimes I get in immediately and sometimes it is as long as three hours depending on crowd and their triage system. One time after waiting two hours I just left and came back the next day. That time they suddenly decided it had become life threatening and got me in immediately. I ended up in ICU for two weeks after passing out upon arrival. Apparently that’s what it takes for immediate attention. The best times are when I have gone to an urgent or immediate care first and if they think it necessary they phone ahead. All three times I was seen with almost no wait after that. I am reluctant to go to them first because it usually results in long waits. When I finally get in the care is almost always very good. Staff is excellent and doctors knowledgeable.

One of the worst ER check in experiences my wife and I have ever been through. HIPPA violations galore. The check in desk is about 8 feet away from everyones ears. The check in nurse had no bedside manners at all. One seat was being used at the counter for everyone that was sick to sit in, and not once did we see them wipe the seat down. The mask were placed in the middle of the check in lobby and not the entrance, which makes no sense. Once we were seen by the Doctor, he was actually pretty nice and explained everything pretty thoroughly, however he did leave the intake door wide open for all to hear. Once we finally made it to the back, instead of a room or private bed we were taken to the hallway and told to wait on a gurney for the doctor to read our results; again HIPPA!!!! 4.5hrs later we’re finally done!

My mom has been laying in a hallway for over 6 hours waiting for an ambulance ride back to the skilled nursing home that sent her to the ER at 12:15pm Thursday and it’s now 2:15am Friday and we are still here. This place feels like a 3rd world country with patients lining the halls unattended or their business out there for all to hear. Betsy the RN in charge of my mom seems uncaring and lazy. Spends most of her time sitting at the desk. She seems put out when my mom requests to use the bathroom which has been 3x since 7:00pm when her shift started (Now 2:15am). This last time she hasn’t taken her yet and we asked over an hour ago. I know nursing is a hard job but if you saw my mom you would see how hard it is to be 81. The positive the doctor was kind. The most amazing medical care my father has received in literally 58 years. Every single staff member we dealt with was kind and professional. The process was fast and efficient. They took great care of my father and I’m very thankful for this hospital and their amazing staff.

This er is so over burdened and understaffed but the staff who are there are all amazing. The first few times I went was enough for me to start going all the way to UW in Seattle: it was bad and the lack of care and action that the drs would take was scary. I have a disorder that causes me to need regular hydration and twice I was refused hydration and would have had to pay another deductible to go to UW if my family hadn’t been there to advocate for me. I was too sick to do it at the time. I’ve had a few emergencies that couldn’t wait in the last few months and I had to go to a local er there was no other choice. The staff in place is efficient, kind, respectful. My opinion has completely been changed. I was terrified to have an emergency and have to go here just 8 months ago. The amount of changes have been made are amazing. I was stuck in a room with a couple of drama queen bullies today that I would have refused service too. They were rude, threatening, kept getting in the way of the staff, demanding to be seen for a non emergency. They woman was an entitled pathetic jerk and her dude was reacting to her escalation it was appalling the behavior they had. The staff handled them firmly and with so much patience and grace. I was to the point where I had thought about calling security as they were making up all sorts of stories as to why they were being mistreated, threatening the staff and causing a infantile scene to the point I talked to them so I could get some peace. I was truly impressed with the nurses tolerance and kindness. It took a long time but it’s an emergency room. Expect to be treated by priority and if your not dieing and stable your going to wait a while. They really need a larger facility and more staff but that’s a corporate parasite issue and has nothing to do with the personnel on the floor. They are amazing. Thank you all.

OMG !!! one of the worst experiences I have ever had !!! I went there with chest pains and after 3 hrs was finally seen by a nurse and they accomplished blood test, EKG and chest Xray and given Baby asprin ... they recommended that I be admitted to the hospital for observation and to be given a stress test ... I waited through out the night for another 8 hours and was never assigned a room or given a stress test ...no one at the desk could provide any update for me -- they said there is "No Way" to do that ???? I am so ashamed that our family donated $75,000 to the establishment of this ER wing !! Never ever ever go there if you need ER care.

I just finished a 14 hour stay in St. Pete's Emergency Care, and can't be thankful enough for the care I was provided. The night nurse looking after me was absolutely amazing. Her name is Mercedes, and I have never witnessed any medical professional working so tirelessly, efficiently, and empathetically over my entire stay, covering not only my care, but all others within my hallway in the ER wing. She just didn't stop - all night. and all with a smile on her face. She was the glue that kept things humming amidst the night's ER chaos. I am astounded that Mercedes can return to the ER day after day to perform the hard work she puts in, always on the run. Kudos to her - St. Pete's is lucky to have her. Many thanks from me for the care she provided, and hope your administration let's her know!

Thank you all for the compassionate care I received today. I get so embarrassed going to the ER for migraines and sometimes feel it annoys the hospital staff but that was far from the case today. From the front desk to the nurses, the MD, and even the lady with registration; everyone was extremely kind, understanding and caring. I was seen 9 hrs ago and my migraine is completely gone. Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Worst hospital ever staff are slow and rude we came here before and they take forever to check you in take forever to help patients doctors acting rudely also not to mention THEY DONT HELP PEOPLE the doctors are not even professional I think St Peter's should have better staff instead of wasting everybody's time and making excuses and not helping patients I wouldn't waste your dang time here because they don't help and if you ask for certian things they will not do it for you maybe in the future they will change if your paitient is complaining about pain listen to them because the doctor will be in the wrong of they don't so make sure to want the proper help go to st clare in tracoma washington friendly staff and they treat you better.

If I could leave 0 star I would, I arrived before two native women, with a severe stomach pain, I waited in the outside area because I didn't understand how to enter, I speak little English to be honest, and when it was my turn the guy The front in a very rude manner told me that they would not attend to me until they attended to the two women who arrived after me, one of them said to attend to me and even then the women in front refused to assist me, it was better for me to go to Lacey's emergency room! !! Terrible service!!!!!!!

I was referred to the ER after urgent care was unable to test me. Went in for right side pain and lightheadedness. The wait was expected for an ER, about 5 hours. I got a CT scan and blood tests. No results. Stated I was constipated but i told them i go everyday with no problem. They gave me Motrin and sent me home. They never asked me about my bowels or my hydration but that’s what they diagnosed me with and pushed me out the door. I was put in a room with another patient, so HIPPA rights do not apply here. I heard why they were there and they heard why i was there. Do not recommend. Waste of time. Friendly staff though

After taking a new medication that left me literally screaming and sobbing with 10/10 abdominal pain, begging for help until I was dehydrated and begging for death instead, I was sent home after almost 7 hours with a tl;dr of "You probably have a peptic ulcer. Good luck with that, but none of our in-house GI specialists are on the clock right now, so we're not sure. Please go home and die." I was literally sobbing, screaming, and writhing in my wheelchair, babbling "Please someone help me" for 7 hours. I feel like I would've gotten more help and relief if I'd just laid in the grass and frozen to death outside than called 911. If you or a loved one needs emergency care, go anywhere else. Like it is with the vacuum of space, nobody at St. Pete's will hear you scream, no matter how loud.

I only left one star because they don’t give you the option to subtract. The Providence Saint Pete ER has gotten me to start my own rating system, -5 stars that’s what they deserve. Why do these professionals such as doctors, nurse practitioners even registered nurses go into what I consider some of the most noble professions in the world and become so jaded that they impart so little compassion and care, at least that’s how I have perceived it here when I brought my daughter, my wife has perceived it the same. How sad! I will go out of my way. Do anything possible and pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by the blood of Christ that if I ever need an ER, I will go anywhere except here and bring anyone that I love anywhere except here, by the grace of God never again Providence ER never again. Next time if someone is vomiting for over 5 hours for god sake’s, even the stupidest medic in the world knows start an IV get some normal saline at least going. Shame on you all in the ER today 19 July 2023. Shame on you all. Update, they are quick at one thing, getting the bill to you. I just received a bill for $250 after billing my insurance. Again shame on you Providence St. Pete ER, all providers there should be ashamed of yourselves for the horrible treatment you provide. To quote the famous line from the Fly, to quote Gina Davis "be afraid, be very afraid" when you, God forbid have to go to this ER because you have no other choice.

So, I walked outside to grab a family member of the patient. Then, asked the blonde at the front desk. She didn't even look up. And told me to wait in line.. when I asked her a more specific questions about her answer. (To be specific " so I have to wait in the line of all the people being admitted, To be able to go back for someone that was just rolled passed the doors" ) she finally looked up. And with a massive attitude, clapped her hands and pointed at a sign that stated I shouldn't walk up with a patient... I didn't have a patient with me. Soooo, there's that. I'm really sorry if she had A bad shift. But there were also 2 people at the front desk. One of them could push a button that wasn't the front desk. Don't act like I'm taking sooo much of your time. 07 Jan 2024 04:00 pm.
