Great deal on a king bed room with fridge, microwave, walk-in shower, eurostyle LED backlit vanity mirror, wifi, tv with hbo & nfl & more other premium channels then I knew existed, powerful AC. Clever shallow hanging closets with iron and board. Rolling hassocks that together make a good place to open a suitcase. Needs upkeep but has had upgrades. Best looking building in the neighborhood (LOL, it's in the utility corridor of town, near power & fire stations & warehouses, & the rear parking lot abuts railroad tracks), & if you get lost trying to find it look for signs for the stadium arena fairgrounds nearby. 24 hr free coffee in the lobby with continental breakfast 6-9 during the week and hot breakfast on the weekends. Helpful staff. Ice machine on 2nd of the 3 floors (High-rises make me nervous). I was comfortable.

Overall this was a good deal. *PROs: - Staff were great. Friendly, professional and accommodating. Seemed happy to be there and always smiling. - room was very clean and accommodating although a little skimpy on the towels however we asked for more which staff graciously obliged so no problem. - snacks/drinks in lobby reasonably priced (which is very unusual at hotels and was a nice surprise, much appreciated.) - complimentary continental breakfast in the morning with good selections (nothing fancy but your typical expectation with a few extras to choose from, more than usual) - Bed and linens very comfy!! Plenty of pillows provided, nice quality linens and mattress. This makes a huge difference when the room is a bit on the small side the sleeping arrangement overcompensates for that. *Things that could be better: - water pressure in the shower - consider propping the door open on the floors that you enter in and out thru to get to your rooms. We were right beside it in our room and it was constantly being open and shut so the squeaking noise and slam was a bit of a nuisance. Not a huge deal but something to consider. Other than that, as I said above, this was a great deal. It was priced higher than usual this weekend bc of the festival in town which I guess is to be expected. We didn’t hear any train noises and didn’t have to use our ear plugs that are provided to every guest in the room. I would’ve probably picked a different color than red for the paint of the doors just bc of the overall esthetics when staying in an unfamiliar place; red is not very calming or comforting. A nice grey/gray or other neutral shade would probably be a better option. Thank you for a nice stay. We are in Columbia often and will definitely be back.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. The only bad thing is that there is a train that runs at different hours of the day and night across the street and on the side of the hotel. Also if you have a front room which we did you will need the earplugs they provide to help you from hearing the outside noise

I will save any readers time by giving an honest review based on my experience with this "hotel" Do NOT be fooled by the pictures before your booking. Frankly, this place is by far the most unprofessional and bogus motel I have had to deal with in my 25+ years as an adult. My partner booked a trip to get away for a few days in Colombia, SC with family. Upon arrival, highly disappointed, right next to a railroad, poor quality infrastructure, valueless for a lack of a better word. I happened to notice the front desk attendant was in her car (we beat her to the front desk). Then looked up our booking with red eyes, seemed really tired, slouching, and there was a really strong skunky smell. She failed to process a refund for we were immediately uncomfortable to stay to a place that overlooks use consuming products that make a person in that kind of state. We had to cancel due to the aforementioned. We did not even stay overnight but we were billed for the first night THE NEXT DAY (we did not even bring our bags into this establishment) when they verbally confirmed that they could cancel the room with no charge. It has been weeks and I still have not been able to get in touch with this general manager. Just terrible. Do yourself a favor and book ANYWHERE ELSE in Columbia, SC excluding this place. Unless you prefer to subject your friends and family to foreign substances, loud noise, a depressing stay, AND have your money taken all at the same time.

First of all just to start off rate given was NOT the cheap rate everyone was talking about paid over 150$ for a night. So now to the Staff everyone we dealt with during out visit was very helpful and polite that gets 5 stars. The room was in okay condition our than the blinds being knocked down to just be stapled to the inside wall to keep it up. Beds were nice good night's sleep and bathroom was the best looking feature of whole room. Over all worth maybe 55-65$ a night possible. Other than that go closer to downtown for better hotel. It is close to stadium and the train noise was not bad at all just to put those other reviews to not be the truth.

Decent stay. Parking lot is dark and could use more lighting, but does not have sketchy characters lurking like some other places with the same level of low light. The office chair in my room had not been cleaned, so I found food debris and hair from previous guest on it—grossed me out a bit, but I simply chose not to use the chair. The shower enclosure does not have a door, so the vinyl plank flooring gets soaked and you have to put a towel down as a bathmat to decrease your chances of slipping upon exit. My microwave was missing the glass platter, so my food did not rotate properly/ did not get warmed through. There were kids running on my floor various hours of the evening which made it difficult to get to sleep. The bed was made well and had very plush linens that kept me very warm. The AC worked well all night at 60° temperature setting. The gentleman that initially checked me in did not seem friendly or to be enjoying his job (a simple smile goes a long way), but the morning shift manager was very polite and redeemed my perception of staff. I appreciated the generous spread of channels on the TV, allowing me to catch a few quality movies on HBO during my stay. There is a small breakfast offering downstairs in the mornings. Not the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but certainly not the worst, either. Has its quirks, but has its good spots, too. My online rate was $150 for a 2-Q bedroom: a bit high for the negative details noted herein, but it was nevertheless the safe, warm place to get some sleep and I did not worry about whether my truck would be broken into overnight.

First off, THIS IS A COLLEGE TOWN. If you don’t like huge crowds of drunk, obnoxious 18/20 year olds everywhere you go than stay away. Its not my thing. While traveling home to FL, we were looking for a town with a restaurant and hotel and decided to come to Columbia not realizing what it was. I never heard the train, but if my husband wasn’t with me I wouldn’t have stayed there, didn’t feel safe in that area. The staff was pleasant but hotel was dirty looking and run down. The bathroom door in our room wouldn’t close tightly, there were lights that did work. The room smelled musty. I actually lifted the mattress to look for bedbugs. There were none, thank god. When we arrived there was an outdoor concert going on next door and across the street with hordes of college kids in attendance. That’s when we realized where we were. I wouldn’t choose to go back there again. If there are cool parts of town, we missed them. The reviews of this town are deceiving. I read many and none of them said anything about it being a college town. From what I saw, It’s a big, ugly city. No thank you.

I enjoyed staying here. I stayed in a few different rooms here while transferring for work. I only actually heard the train 1 night out of about 30.. So besides the train it's pretty quiet. Close to town to walk and grab dinner or just a very short drive!

The hotel room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would only suggest that they purchase some better soap for the bathroom. If you're looking for an affordable stay near downtown Columbia, this a good option.

A reasonable place to stay, but the TRAIN NOISE was crazy. Why would they build a hotel on top of train tracks. Freight trains came all night long. The thin walls and windows do nothing to mellow out the noise. They do provide earplugs, but that should not be a thing. That said, the staff was very NICE and the beds were COMFY. The grab-n-go breakfast was nice too. The room was decent, but we had a burn mark on the ceiling and a missing wall hanging. (the picture hanging holes / screw were still on the exposed wall). Overall a fair value based on the area if you can handle the noise. I'd be 50/50 staying there again, it would depend on the price difference of a quieter hotel.

First let me start off with the positives saying that the staff here are top notch employees. I wish I would've gotten the girls name that checked me in on 7/16, she is a gem. Also there were no trains that I heard during my 1 night stay. Now the hotel itself is probably one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The hallways aren't air conditioned, the room smelled like stale cigarettes, the floors are filthy, my room (208) is missing the shower door so you're just in open air, the towel rods are missing, one towel and one wash cloth, one bar of soap, and a bottle of lotion were all that was provided. Breakfast consisted of coffee with no sugar available but they did have creamer, yogurt, juice, frozen biscuits that you have to defrost then microwave, and packets of grits. There was also cream cheese but nothing to actually put it on unless maybe it was for the frozen biscuits, and lastly apples that were mushy when I picked two of them up. This was at 7:30am on Sunday morning Nothing about this hotel reflects the photos posted online or the $100 price for the night. I will not stay here again or with any Gallus collection again.

Excellent staff, room was incredibly adorable. Thank you to Jordan for being so welcoming and kind. Enjoyed the in-house accommodations and the friendly staff. 20/20 overall as someone who’s been in hotels a bit lately.

Hoo boy, this was a cheap place to stay and quiet on the inside but man the train yard is loud and I live near a train yard! They must run "blow the whistle for 5 minutes at a time" classes. Seriously. I timed it once. They laid on the horn for a full 5 minutes once. BUT the hotel can't really do anything about it so they provide every room with free ear plugs. Nothing fancy, I didn't take advantage of the free coffee or continental breakfast and the price was what I was looking for. The rooms were clean, small and cozy.

Here for the game. Super close to the stadium, which is especially great for night games. Close to J's on the corner if you don't want to tail gait. Rooms are a little dated but nice. Spruce up the front desk, eliminate some clutter, add a TV to the lobby and you have a winner.

I stayed at this hotel in 2018 when it was newly renovated everything was perfect. Came back in 2022 and it had gone done hill. Our linen abd bath towels weren't clean. The bathroom weren't clean. I was was shocked could not imagine why this business went down hill. Also, must of the food for the breakfast was stale.

Where to start. The smell.. terrible. They try to hide it with airwick wall perfume but change nothing. No smoke detector and you cannot open your room windows. Holes in the walls. The services for check-in was good but the next day he was terrible. The girl was on her phone and anseer me by "What".. Don't recommend.

Good things: -Great staff -Good location -Linens and towels seemed clean Not so good things: -Multiple broken or missing electrical plates -Large dent in bathroom door, and the top hinge was loose. It made the door difficult to operate (note that this was a handicapped accessible room) -Amenities seemed sparse. I did not stay for breakfast because of the next point. -The train. -The toilet didn't flush, which I figured out before I left. Hotel staff were fine with recording the issue for repair. Overall, difficult to make a call as to whether I would stay again or not.

If you’re lucky and you don’t get a room right next to the train tracks there shouldn’t be a problem. I slept great and everything in the rooms was clean. We also got a renovated room which was nice. The complimentary breakfast was a little peculiar and I would probably rather go to an additional spot for breakfast in the mornings. other than that this stay was great value for money👍

All Lies and JOKE are 100% Smoke Free, my accessible room had burns on the furniture and walls from smokers and employees were smoking as I walked in and out. The light switch covers half missing, holes on the doors and walls etc. Grab n Go Breakfast small rolls and only white bread, some yougert. Milk and juice were in H2O holders that I have at the house. What sundry shop none.No Pets Allowed Lie. Coffee Business Center a computer is lies on a corner desk. I can do another post to add more.7 Feedback continued. Front desk ladies were nice and did their job. Only one lock in my room worked. Drapes are broken. Items left in the shower when you use the shower. Hotel cleaning carts are left in the hallway when trying to get into my room. If there is any ownership of Choice hotels, they would be embarrassed and would compensate myself and any other guest that the same experience.

I enjoyed my stay here. Excellent customer service, quiet and peaceful..other than the train every now and again. They went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. I recommend staying here if your visiting, it's convenient to downtown.

First the good, location. Then the bad, We saw two small roaches and one bed bug. Room is modern but with subpar finishes and it’s not properly cleaned. Breakfast was also a weak point. I’d recommend to stay somewhere else.
