Seeing as how this was my first appointment, Dr. Thompson and her staff were welcoming, insightful, and promising in terms of finding a diagnosis. HOWEVER, the lab technician at Olympia multi specialty, a young Caucasian woman with dark hair, was completely unprofessional, rude, and impossible to engage with. This person refused to answer my questions about my tests, then refused to perform the blood work that my Doctor had ordered “because I was rude”, which forced me to go to another lab for this blood work- all because I made the mistake of asking her questions about my services! Be warned that her unkind attitude gives her some sick pleasure at being able to refuse service, and instead PLEASE have your lab work performed somewhere, anywhere else!

Dr. Linton from Neurology is great! He was the first to listen to my wife's issues and try aggressively to alleviate her constant headaches. So why the 1 star? Well- we are a cash paying customer- so when we call and ask "how much will a visit cost" The office staff responds with, "Oh cash patients are $135". So fast forward and we receive a bill for balance owed...I call to ask why we have a bill when we pay in full, they respond oh we only give you an estimate- it depends on what the doctor bills for. So read that again- IF THEY FEEL THEY NEED MORE $$$ THEY WILL BILL ABOVE WHAT YOU ARE ASKED TO PAY!!! How on earth is that remotely ethical!!!???

There's so much to say. My first visit to the cardiologist, i waited 1 hour beyond my appointment time to be seen. After talking to the doctor for 5-10 minutes, i was handed off to a multiple people to do several tests on me, NONE of which i was told about until that moment (my appointment was just to initiate a relationship with a cardiologist and get him to take over an existing Rx i was already on). The tests took another 2 hours. I spent half a day where i expect to spend an hour. at the end, i was handed off to a scheduler/nurse, not exactly sure, who was super rude, couldn't understand the Dr's notes, and treated me with contempt when i tried to explain to her what the Dr's notes said (i was part of that conversation, after all). Shortly after my appointment, i had medication side-effects i couldn't live with (because he increased my dose), and i called the place to reduce my dosing (which the Dr agreed to do, if needed, when we met in person). no response. i called regularly for 3 months, THREE MONTHS, before i got a response that i could drop my dosing. It didn't help much, so i asked for another medication. No response for 2 months, despite repeated calls and voicemails. Upon receiving that response, they said i'd need to see the doctor in person, which couldn't be done for another 1-2 months. i asked why i had to see the doctor to execute a plan he previously agreed with , and they said it's because he may want to do a bunch of test, but there's no way to know which ones, if any, in advance. What? So i need to just take off another half-day for a POSSIBLE array of tests that nobody can say will happen with certainty? With my past doctors, i could get a medication change in a few days, without coming into the office. Now, it takes SIX MONTHS, and more in-person visits, and perhaps maybe several more tests. Unbelievable. I haven't even found a new cardiologist yet, but i am ending this current relationship. Again, the Dr was fine, the practice was a complete mess. Never going back for any of the specialties they offer.

One star is too generous. Our son who has Autism was scheduled to see Dr Thompson today and since hes disabled I asked at the front desk if all 4 of us (2 caregivers and 2 parents) could be in the exam room with him Staff at desk told us it might be ok but it was up to the doctor. Dr Thompson said no and said two of us had to leave. Dr T came in and my husband and our sons RN overheard the staff in the corridor outside complaining about all 5 of us being in the exam room. We are our sons team and he has caregivers that need to be at these appointments. Other doctors dont mind and encourage us to all be together because they understand. Dr T got in my face and got hostile and condescending as I tried to explain our son's problem. I asked her if there was something that could be done to. better the problem hexwzs having but all she did was throw a question back at me asking what did I want her to do. I ended up leaving the room and sent my husband back there and he said she was aggressive and rude towards him and accused him of threatening behaviour and said that he was refusing to let her out of the room and she called the exam off and told us not to come back. Very unfortunate appointment and it seems that Dr. Thompson is not good at handling questions and solving problems. The staff at the desk (Patty) also very rude when I asked for copies of my sons paperwork. Do not go to this doctor or clinic. They will make you think they are the victim and blame you for what went wrong. no accountability.

Same experience as some other reviewers. I was referred by Kaiser for a Gastro appt. The woman who called me to schedule an apt was incredibly rude, hostile, and condescending from the moment I picked up. It was a Friday afternoon and apparently she was ready to be done. She asked about my history and when I told her I had been seen/treated for my gastro EoE issue more than 10 years ago (at another olympia clinic, under different insurance), she put me on hold, and came back to let me know that "they aren't accepting new patients coming from another provider." I explained that I do not currently have a Gastro specialist, this was more than 10 years ago, and she got even ruder (didn't seem possible) and started to explain "this is the POLICY handed down from our CEO...." Closing thoughts: 1) The bad reviews are numerous, so that should probably be a sign that this place is worth avoiding 2) Why act like you're accepting new patients to insurers, just to turn around and reject them? (Probable answer: maybe there's an "ideal patient" they make a lot of money from but doesn't take much of their time, and they're cherry-picking these and turning away the rest) This is such a waste of everyone's time - now I have to go back through insurance to get referred to a place that might actually take me.

UPDATE - The office manager was actually on vacation. Upon her return, she reached out. She was very apologetic and did her best to correct the situation. Within a week or so, we received the CPAP. All is well now. **** First, I work in the medical field and am well aware of how access is all over the puget sound. It's hard to get in to see a provider of any specialty in a timely manner. That being said, my Husband had a referral sent to OMSC for a sleep study. We scheduled in late winter for the first appointment available, which was the end of May. They tried to schedule an in person sleep study, months out yet again. So we asked for the at home study instead. He returned it the next day and scheduled the result appointment for July 24th, almost two months out from the first. He gets a call to offer a sooner appointment on the 12th, hallelujah. They call the morning of to cancel, they didn't have his results yet. Not a big deal. They said they would get him in the same day as his previous appointment in a couple weeks, if possible. No call back since the 12th. He called them this morning and the office manager tells him they can't give him his previous appointment because they already scheduled someone else. They then offered him the next appointment available, which is in the middle of OCTOBER! I understand it's unacceptable to give an appointment back after it was given to another patient. However, how is it acceptable to not make some type of an exception since they offered him an appointment they couldn't keep? After this experience, we will not be returning.

This is for Dr. Dunn in cardiology. Very attentive Dr and actually listens to his patients. Dr Dunn found a rare tumor growing Inside of my heart and within just a few days he had all tests done and had me ready for surgery. I have continued to follow up with him this last year following my open heart surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Dunn for a caring and thorough visit.

Patient of Dr. Chan's. Scheduled a follow up appointment. He required lab work to be done prior. Nurse ordered the tests. Found out from the lab I have to bring the orders in with me. Spoke to the nurse. She said she maiIed them to me on July 8th. As of the 15th, had not received them. Spoke to her again......BTW each time having to wait on hold for 10+minutes.....she said she would send them again. Got those on the 18th. The orders expired that day!!!!!So now I have to start over. Labs have to be done NLT one week ahead of the appointment. Now I'm running out of time. Asked reception why they couldnt just send the orders over to the lab. My regular physician does this all the time. They told me they can?!?!?!?!? So after multiple phone calls and days trying to get this all sorted out......it ALL could have been sooooo easily avoided.....with just a smidgeon of customer service!! Maybe I need to start looking for a different doctor. Similar experiences with the Sleep Center. Maybe its time for a new clinic!!!!!

Rude staff, They have wrong information and then proceed to argue about it. I was treated poorly by an employee named Milissa. She was more focused on arguing than solving the problem at hand . Very unorganized and Unprofessional. Dr Thompson is amaizng, it is unfortunate I will be looking for a new doctor due to he staff having severe issues providing professional and courteous treatment.

My doctor sent over a referral to Olympia Speciality Clinic. I received a phone call from the appointment setter, I’m still in shock by how rude and condescending she was. She asked if I had been seen by another gastroenterologist, I replied that had a routine colonoscopy. Her reply well we can’t see you we don’t take patients from other places. I explained that the colonoscopy was ordered by primary doctor and he was the one that went over the results with me. She said I don’t care we don’t see patients that have been seen by another clinic. She spoke to me like a child. I explained again it was a routine colonoscopy ordered by my doctor. She said she would call my physician on Monday. I told her never mind there is no way I would step foot in that clinic absolutely the worst. It was honestly the mist disturbing phone call I’ve ever had from a healthcare facility. From reading the reviews I’m not the first! Avoid!!!

Horrible sleep department. Don't go here. The doctors Linton seems nice, but the staff is incompetent. I had a sleep study in June they said i needed a cpap, they sent all information to insurance and I would hear back to schedule a follow-up appointment. Life gets in the way and I forgot about the Cpap then I called again they said they sent everything over to insurance they will send again and if I don't hear from insurance to call the insurance and see what the issue is. I called my insurance and they said they received NOTHING..... they said they approve that right away. I called OSC back and they said I needed to call Apria. I called Apria and they had NO information on me at all and said nothing was sent over to them, they would have it in their system. So, I do see bad reviews on Apria, so it's either the fault of Apria or OSC, however I think it's OSC. The people who work in that office seem like they have no idea how to do their job or really care, and it seems to me they pass the buck. This is the last time I will be using them. I will hopefully get my cpap soon after 4 months of incompetent people. I hope they fire all of them and get a new staff.

I only interacted with the scheduler at this place but, know before you call, you need to be prepared to tell them if you've ever been seen by a gastroenterologist or had a procedure done and, if so, where and when. You'll also be expected to explain why you want to change providers (yes, even if you were simply referred here by another provider- as thought you're... gasto-shopping?). Of course, they need a copy of your records but, they won't schedule an appointment without those records first. I understand needing to know a patient's history before being seen but before scheduling? That was new for me. To not coordinate with the referring provider or explain I'll need to provide this information before being allowed to schedule an appointment, despite their not calling to schedule for more than three weeks after the referral, doesn't seem reasonable or efficient. UPDATE- after three weeks, they finally called and asked if I was ready to schedule a colonoscopy. My referral was for a endoscopy (the other end). I've decided to be seen at another location or just live with the pain.

I finally felt that someone was listening to me. Dr. Heap’s kind concern reduced my stress caused from many years of visits with GI docs and their staff who seemed at best uninterested with my questions about my symptoms or annoyed that I kept asking for help with incapacitating abdominal pain. I was so surprised at the kindness and knowledge of everyone I encountered from the staff; front desk, lab, office nurse,, and other staff during the various procedures.

I will gladly rant and rave about my experiences with the Gastroenterology Department! Dr. McCabe IV and his staff have always taken the best care of me over the last few years I've been going to OMSC. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and they make me feel seen, like I'm not just another patient, which is a rare and wonderful thing in my experience.

Dr Keaton Jones is knowledgeable, compassionate, so helpful explaining procedures and hands on during initial apt and procedures. He took time to go over my records I brought from 1997. His staff that helped with my prep and colonoscopy are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as well! Sarah my birthday lefty and Sandy thank you. Amazing skills! I have worked in the medical field for 19 years and highly recommend Dr Jones.

Office visit was good. Forget about getting your prescriptions refilled in a timely manner should you run out of refills. I called my pharmacy last Friday and they sent the request over to their office, here it is Thursday of the following week and still no refills. No one has indicated to me that I need to be seen before a refill is given either. Really fricken frustrating

Dr. McCabe, Jessica, and Kaori treated me just great, and are extremely good at what they do! Dr. McCabe is a great doctor and is so considerate of his patients. Jessica is obviously a quick study and really knows what she is doing, plus she is very personable. Then there's Kaori - what a personality! She is so much fun and an excellent anesthesiologist! She really puts your mind at ease and excellent at getting you to relax before you go under!

I do not recommend and these are the reasons why: 1. My cardiogram cardiogram showed that I was either having a heart attack or had possibly already had a heart attack. The doctor told me to call and make an appt, that she had already talked to the doctor. When I explained to my regular doctor that I had made the appointment she she said oh no no that's too far out that she had already spoken to the doctor and they were gonna fit me in on an emergency basis. I did this and one of the receptionists acted like I was trying to pull one over on her and how dare I. I finally had to say listen this is not what I'm telling you to do this is what my doctor told me to do and your doctor agreed to this and I need you to do your job. 2. My doctor @ omsc neglected to do paperwork before he left. So my file was not complete. when I went to schedule my next appointment I had to wait in a limbo until he got back. 3. Because the insurance was new they demanded that they see the actual card. I told them that I didn't have the actual card yet. They said they couldn't schedule the appointment until they had my insurance card. I offered to pay Cash and be reimbursed by my insurance agency and they refused. You should know that they had already called to verify my insurance and take my $50 co-pay. 5. So I've just received (7/13/22) a statement saying I owe them $18.28 from a visit on January 27th. At that time they told me my coinsurance was $600 I paid that. It looks like there's a $10 charge that has not been paid my insurance paid everything apparently other than $8 it's not clear. You decide.

Dr. Thompson was very kind and welcoming! She was very professional and was extremely knowledgeable about my personal case as well as the academics she presented. She listened intently to my story and considered everything I said, as well as all the test results, as she came up with a diagnosis & treatment plan. The desk staff were very kind and knowledgeable from start to finish. I was reading some of these reviews, mostly the negative ones, as I was waiting and didn't see or hear anything that I could say was negative at all. The staff were amazing! I only waited 5 minutes after my appointment time before I was called to the back. Also, the desk staff called me by name as I was leaving which made me feel like I was more than a patient number. I would not hesitate to refer my friends and family to Dr. Thompson and the Olympia Multi-Specialty Clinic. I was seen the morning of June 22, 2021.
