If you can, I would avoid going to this clinic. I have not been treated well and have been made out to be a non compliant patient, which is far from true. I had to be my own advocate more than I should have and had to defend myself to a certain MA who had a bad attitude and acted like she knew everything. During my pregnancy, I have been suffering from low iron, the MA completely dismissed my claim to the low iron and insisted that my labs were fine regardless of what the actual doctor had told me. Why brother asking me if I had concerns or questions I wanted to discuss with the provider if the MA knows everything and wouldn’t take my concerns seriously? Another example of poor care was when I had my 20 week ultrasound done, there was something concerning seen but when they called me about it they said that everything looked good but they needed me to go back for additional images of baby’s spine (due to baby’s position, the ultrasound tech couldn’t get good images). When I went in for my follow up appointment they broke the news that there was something actually wrong. I was so upset and didn’t understand why they would tell me over the phone that everything was fine when it clearly wasn’t. Again, I had to be my own advocate and ask if I needed to see a specialist and I don’t think they would have referred me to one if I had have not been persistent with my concerns and questions (which I didn’t get clear answers to from this group). Also, I was told multiple times that this office tried calling me about results and such things but I didn’t answer and wasn’t returning their calls. I never had missed calls from them and they didn’t leave voicemails so I find this to be untrue. It also seems like their policy to bringing your children with you due to not having childcare changes depending on what the office mood for the day was. I was treated very rudely when I brought my 15 month old to an appointment with me even though he had gone with me before and it wasn’t an issue. I had their written policy shoved at me and told that it has been this way the entire time I had been going there but yet when I saw the same exact people at the visit prior, no one mentioned this to me and didn’t mind my son being there. Dr. Bell was nice but I only was able to see him once. For some reason I kept getting scheduled with a midwife who doesn’t even do deliveries. Again, poor patient care. After the last encounter with the very rude MA, I called and spoke to the office manager and said that I did not want that MA to be part of my care team again. I expressed my concerns to her about how I was treated and she said that was very unlike that MA and it didn’t seem like anything would be done about it. If I wasn’t moving to a different state, I would be looking for another OB group to finish out my pregnancy. The thought of this group taking care of my unborn child and myself is beyond scary to me. How many more things would they let fall through the cracks or dismiss due to being in a bad mood?

This place is unprofessional and unhelpful. I was referred here after an ER visit, and when I called to set up my appointment the referral lady was not there which is fine understandable, however when I explained why I got the referral and needed an appointment the receptionist felt the need to tell my reason doesn't warrant this kind of doctor. I went ahead and made the appointment, and waited the month to finally see them even after the rude encounter. The day of the appointment arrives and I was running a few minutes late (5 minutes), I called to explain and they cancelled my appointment and told me to reschedule. If you have a non pregnancy related concern or issue DO NOT bother with this place. They clearly only want pregnant patients because they are more money for the office. If I could give negative stars I would.

I seen them for my 3rd pregnancy because my previous doctor left practice and this place was near by. The process wasn't pleasent to begin with but my baby was healthy and delivered safely. I hated never seeing the same person and never able to make appointments due to their lack of availability. I'd call and get no answer so I'd leave a voicemail wanting to schedule my next appointment. They would call me the next day while I was at work and leave a voicemail that they scheduled me for later that day(I'd still be at work) because they had a cancellation and that's the only time they could get me in, so naturally I'd unknowingly miss my appointment. I reluctantly went back to see them for my first appointment today(2/10/22). They scheduled me for an ultrasound appointment on 2/10 at 8:25am and another appointment on the 24th. They told me my appointment was 8:25 so I show up at 8:20 just to find out it's actually at 8:55 so I waited around for a half hour for no reason because I've been seen before so they didn't need me to do any paperwork like they thought. They also didn't inform me that I couldn't bring my 10month old baby into the ultrasound with my hubby so they both had to wait outside and missed out on the experience saying I needed to get child care for him to come in to see the 5minute ultrasound too but no kids allowed at appointments so I'm going to have to find child care for every appointment in the future which is completely unrealistic since we don't have daycare or much family that doesn't work when they are open. They also failed to tell me I had an intake appointment at 10am, a whole hour after my 5 minute pregnancy confirmation ultrasound. The ultrasound tech asked if I had an appointment after the ultrasound and I said no I have one scheduled on the 24th, she said okay and sent me on my way, didn't check to confirm I didn't have one or even tell me to check with the front desk first. So unknowingly, I left and went home at 9am. They call me at 3:30pm to say I missed my intake appointment at 10am so I can't be seen on the 24th(which I thought was my first official appointment) and I'll need to reschedule. She asked in a very rude tone why I left before my intake, I told the nurse I wasn't informed of my intake appointment at 10am she gave me lots of attitude saying that scheduling TOLD me about it when they scheduled it and when I showed up today and I've been seen there for my last pregnancy so I SHOULD know the process anyway. She then transferred me to scheduling before letting me say anything else and I just hung up. My last intake was over a year and a half ago how am I supposed to remember how the entire process works? You can bet I won't ever be returning here!! Very unprofessional, unorganized, and rude! Update: I ended up going to St. Pete's family medical instead and they are so kind, caring, and all around much better experience. I would definitely recommend them if you're looking for a good obgyn.

Editing review for 5 stars due to postpartum care. I had postpartum anxiety and Olympia OB got me scheduled the next day (whereas my PCP wanted to schedule me 1.5 months out). Karen Swift and nurse Rachel were fantastic in helping me get the resources I needed, offering tips, were vulnerable and authentic, and took my concerns seriously. Received preconception consultation, pregnancy, and delivery care from Olympia OB. Overall I had a great experience here. Dr. Chin and Dr. Bell were amazing with addressing my questions, systematically walking through options, and coming up with a plan together that I felt comfortable with. It can be an information overload sometimes, but calling the nurse line and speaking with them was very helpful in remembering what I need to do and explain conditions. I was induced at 39 weeks and delivered a very healthy baby. The only thing I wish had been different would be mandatory doctor visits 36+ weeks, not midwives. The midwives were helpful throughout my pregnancy, but towards the end of my pregnancy some had a more rushed “everything is fine” attitude whereas the doctor visits thoroughly explained options, offered ultrasounds to show everything was fine, explained where my body was at preparing for birth, and took time to work through different scenarios with us to come up with a plan going forward. I’m not trying to be negative towards the midwives as they are great too, but so much is time sensitive at 36+ weeks that I just felt more comfortable with my doctors visits. The doctors really helped me make a more confident birthing decision.

I use to come here when I first got diagnosed with PCOS and got told I could never have babies..... after many years of going there to just get my depo shot I left this practice because they don't care about their patients at all! All they care about is the money they get! Even if you are pregnant and like myself extremely high risk they don't care! They don't get you in to be seen ASAP like a high risk pregnancy should be treated!!!! Please do not go to this place unless you wanted to be treated like live stock! And if you have gone here and got told something go somewhere else! Because like I said they told me at 14 I'd never have babies and now im 24 with a 5 month old baby!

Ended up going to this place because my normal doctors office was always so busy. The intake nurse was extremely nice and gave me high hopes for this place. After meeting the midwife my opinion on this place completely changed. I told the MA I just wanted to see the baby cause pregnancy dreams and being a mom makes me worry. MA told me that wouldn't be an issue at all. Once talking to the midwife it was like pulling teeth to get her to show me my baby. Expressed my concerns with the cyct on my ovaries and she basically said "well what do you want me to do". I was told I would never have the same midwife and when I go into labor, I get whatever midwife is on call. Not okay with that. She seemed more worried about me gaining weight and maintaining weight that how I currently felt at the visit. Never going back.

Many of the receptionists and nurses are unkind. I’ve been rudely hung up on before for no reason. You feel like just another number here; no one actually gets to know you or cares about you. I do not like how they have you see a new doctor/midwife each appointment because then there’s no one who actually knows the history and trajectory of your pregnancy- they just see what’s on the spreadsheet. And then whoever is on call at the hospital is who delivers your baby. It makes more sense to get a better quality of care by seeing an independent midwife throughout your prenatal care, and then delivering with whatever doctor is on call at the hospital. There are several great independent midwives in Olympia, and that way you get to see the same healthcare provider throughout your whole pregnancy and you don’t have to deal with mean nurses.

This is my second pregnancy with this place. The doctors are pretty friendly. If you decide to go here, I highly recommend Dr Bell or Taylor! They are fantastic. I do not care for the others, but mainly because I just prefer Bell and Taylor. Dr Bueller delivered my first baby and she was fantastic also! I give this place 2 stars because I’ve had issue after issue with this office since my first pregnancy! I had a full birth plan set up with Dr Taylor and at 36 weeks they switched all my appointments with another doctor who I do not care for at all who has canceled my whole birth plan that I’ve had set up with Dr Taylor since my second trimester. I’ve been calling over and over trying to get in with Taylor and they keep telling me she has no openings, even though I had every appointment till the end of my pregnancy set up with her to begin with. If I could give just Dr Taylor and Dr Bell stars, I’d give them both 5 stars for sure! I give the overall practice 2 stars tho. We’ve had issues with payments, them telling us we haven’t paid when we have proof of payment!, we’ve had multiple issues with ultrasounds and having to redo ultrasounds because the techs messed up the ultrasound. Seeing a new doctor at every appointment with my first pregnancy was horrible! No one seemed to communicate with each other so I had to go over everything all over again with each doctor at every appointment... it was exhausting! I’m now 37 weeks pregnant and looking forward to delivering this baby, mainly because I’ll never have to go back to this location again! If you’re having your first baby and choose this location, I suggest trying to set up all your appointments months in advance at your first visit (DO NOT schedule the week of or have them put you on a scheduling wait list!!) and try to make every appointment with the same doctor! Having to see a new doctor at every appointment is so stressful! Plus you don’t get to know your doctor this way at all. I honestly wish I went with a midwife, never a practice!

This obgyn was great during my pregnancy. I had to have multiple non stress tests and got referrals to maternal fetal medicine. Had to have a c section and saw Dr. Bell, Dr Sorensen and Dr. Chin, and midwife Karen Swift. It seems like since they switched over to Providence they have gotten a lot worse. Their postpartum care is a zero out of ten. They do not return voicemails in a timely manner. I have had leg pain possibly from the epidural for over 3 weeks and still waiting for a correct order to be sent for an MRI. I would not recommend going here unfortunately.

TLDR: Don't go here if you have a high risk pregnancy. t's taken me a while to write this because my whole experience was pretty traumatic. It took me five years to get pregnant and when it finally happened, I went to Oly OB to confirm everything and do my blood tests. I have pcos and I didn't think that mattered until l went into early labor later on, but my doctors never even mentioned it could be a risk factor for preterm birth. Between 8 weeks and 20 weeks, I spotted heavily one time and then lightly a bit then on, they never told me that can be a sign of cervical changes. Anyway, my 20 weeks ultrasound was deemed normal by the Dr that reviewed it, but now that I know what I know, it definitely wasn't cuz my cervix should have been longer than it was and they didn't catch it. After that, I came in for my check up and follow up from my ultrasound and I told Dr hanks my dad just died and I felt funny. Like my body felt funny, she dismissed me. Around 23 weeks I started complaining of contractions and Dr hanks kept telling me it was fine. A little less than a week later, I lost my mucus plug in three separate bathroom trips the same day. Coincidentally it was also Dr hanks on the emergency line and she kept telling me I was fine. After the third bathroom trip, I decided not to listen to her and go into the ER. I did and I was 4cm dilated and my water had broken who knows how long ago and Dr hanks was running into the room I was at in St Pete's and literally said "Thank God you didn't listen to me" I felt incredibly dismissed by my experience and I won't be going back, especially knowing I'm at risk for another high risk pregnancy. I'd sooner drive the hour to Overlake medical than go back here. My daughter was born at 26 weeks and now she is ten months and healthy but I wish they listened to me instead of brushing me off cuz I was a first time mom or maybe they thought I was too anxious. I went through some serious trauma because of the lack of care they gave me.

I'm 23 weeks so far and the most stressful part of my pregnancy so far has been dealing with the OB office. Be ready to do your own care management as I had multiple referrals not be sent for ultrasounds on time. Their idea of "trying to get a hold of you for weeks" was one missed phone call. You can't schedule your next appointment because they don't schedule that far out, but when you call back to schedule, they don't have any appointments left. And so far the providers I've met with have not inspired confidence. They're lucky there's not any other OB offices in the area.

One of the nurses her name was Sarah was very unprofessional and I believe they got rid of her. During one of my visits, I was seen by her and she was sharing my results from the door wide open and everybody could hear all my info and results. And she looked very judgmental about my situation. I had a miscarriage and she said some very nasty comments about it. She was straight rude. The other OBGYN are good except for that one. I’m glad she’s not there anymore.

Patient care started great, until I got to 36 weeks of my pregnancy. I was forced into medication I didn't want, even after expressing multiple times I did not want the medication the docs were trying tk prescribe. The docs were manipulative and made me feel guilty even though I know my body and know how my body reacts to certain medication. The only reason I stuck with this facility is because it's who the VA partners with. 0/10 recommend this facility. Specifically Dr. Chin who is rude, nasty, and not very empathetic or sympathetic to any patient's reasoning or situation. Get better Olympia OB and learn to listen to ypur patient's wants and needs.

Like being in the twilight zone. Don't know how they're even in practice. Yeah... You all know exactly what's wrong with your office, I'd say just read your own reviews but I can see the replies from you and they're pretty gross. I'm honestly surprised this office is still around with how they treat their current and former patients, because yes, I WAS a patient. Hightailed it out of there though.

They SOLD OUT to Providence! Service here is terrible now. They don't have time for established patients, I've been waiting 3 weeks and I can't even get anyone to schedule an appointment. Im 29 weeks! Please don't waste your time here, find an OB that cares and can actually see you.

I had a great experience with this clinic during my first pregnancy and have returned for my second pregnancy. All the staff I've encountered are friendly and helpful. Dr. Hanks delivered my daughter in 2020 and I was bummed to hear she has since moved back home. Although it appears many do not like seeing different providers throughout pregnancy, you do get the option to try to schedule with the same providers when scheduling future appointments. It doesn't make a ton of sense for patients to rely strictly on one provider to be present during all appointments and available when they go into labor anyway. The providers are human and have lives outside of work as well. There's more peace of mind you have a 'team' of providers ready and available when you need, which is something I appreciate about this clinic.

Rescheduled apointments multiple tines without confirmation on my behalf. Specilists dont seem to care unless your currently pregnant. Insurances might play into factor as to how your treatment fairs.

My experience here, medically speaking, has been generally good, and I like the providers, but I do have a low risk pregnancy. My main frustrations have been with scheduling and wait times. Today after waiting 45 mins past my appointment time the solution offered to me was for me to reschedule to another day. This is a non solution. And last week the clinic cancelled one of my appointments on the same day due to my provider being sick, at 38 weeks, without having a slot prepared to rebook me. Their online portal is completely nonfunctional. When I call the front desk I am usually placed on hold for 10 minutes since they are always with a patient (understaffed), and there is also no direct line to a doctor or nurse midwife through the online portal or phone. This place is not run satisfactorily at all, and absolutely needs to improve their process, though the individuals that work here are kind and friendly and are doing their best.

Honestly, it’s the worst care I’ve ever received. I had better care when I lived in Oregon on state insurance with my son 7 yrs ago. Now I have private insurance and they treat you like a number. I would suggest you look elsewhere if you want quality of care. I wish I would of found a better clinic. Hands down the worse experience in healthcare I’ve ever had.

I came here for an IUD removal with Dr. Tudino. She was very nice and ordered me a prescription to help with pain management for the procedure. The removal was quick and painless and she talked me through all my options in depth. You can tell she really cares. Scheduling department was also super kind and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

I had started my OB care with Madigan and was very unhappy. I transferred my care to OOG around 18 weeks in my pregnancy. The staff was always friendly and informative. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait after your appointment time before you are seen which is just expected when going to any doctors office. The appointment slots are short but all the providers took extra time to answer my questions and any concerns whenever necessary.

Great experience during my pregnancy. However, following up months afterwards they informed me after the fact when I was in office that they changed policies. Which meant I could no longer bring my 7 month old without being in a car seat or stroller. Was also told I would be turned away if I brought her next time without following their new policies. (Note during my visit they asked me if I had a way to cover her up while holding her)

The people and quality of care here is fantastic. Every doctor and midwife I have had an appointment with is kind, intelligent, professional, trustworthy, and extremely patient with my sometimes endless list of questions. The people at the front desks are so friendly, and are such a wonderful and welcoming way to begin my visits. Finally, the nurse line is incredible - they are always available and so informative! They make an effort to get to know you on a personal level and it really gives this practice a family feel. A particular shout out to nurse Kelly, who called me so frequently to check in during the most difficult time of my life, and who has been my unwaveringly patient and kind support during my current pregnancy. This practice has truly made a positive difference in my life and I would highly recommend.

I had a great experience but I'm a realistic expectations kind of person.... first of all there is a shortage in medical providers all over so your not always going to see the same Dr each time AND appointments are booked out FAR so book ahead... but you do have a choice in who you book with... if your a first time mom let me tell you... both times I've been pregnant and high risk the OB team were great in office visits but at the hospital ots the nurses on staff who basically care for you until push time... and if your chosen DR isn't on call then you get someone who is. Trust me when I say the nurses have your back. Second let me say that appointments only last a few minutes...do you have any concerns? No? Okay see you next time... and it's standard to only have a dating scan and a gender ultrasound... that's your insurance only covering those 2 not the clinics fault.... Everyone was super nice. I saw I believe at least 5 staff sometimes more than once. The Dr who delivered the baby I had never met and the Dr who followed up the next day at the hospital I had never met but both were so kind. I really really liked LAURIE SORENSON, JANNETTE WISE and KATIE WODAEGE. Jannette WISE was the only appointments that I waited a long time in the waiting room for. First time I almost left and after meeting with her I booked her again knowing it would be a wait. She was my favorite. I thought since she was running behind I would be rushed but NOPE! SHhe gave me all the time in the world! She answered all my questions and made me feel in control when we talked about things like induction or membrane sweeps. If I'm ever pregnant again I will book her as often as possible. She is worth the waiting in my opinion!

Horrible place to go I’ve been given the run around by every doctor that has seen me, I’ve had my lab orders never sent or “didn’t go through” like they said. I’m at my 37 week mark and I’m absolutely terrified that any of the OB’s here are going to help me deliver my baby. Especially since the last doctor that I had seen argued with me for for 15 minutes about getting my tubes tied when that was never a discussion I had with anyone and the doctor proceeded to tell me that it was and that I was wrong and she was right until the nurse came in and informed her that she misspoke and told the doctor the wrong information. And when I brought it up with HR, they told me the doctors are very intellectual individuals and we’re doing their jobs correctly. Would highly advise not having your child have anything to do with his facility they are unprofessional.

Dr.Bell, and Katie are the best. Dr . Sorenson is amazing too. The rest is terrible. The front desk staff is so sweet and great.. The communication sucks, they don't listen, they are rude, there are A FEW good apples, but the bad apples be strong with this one. I regret not letting my pregnancy be more personal with a direct midwife or even somewhere else. I did love Dr.Bell, and a few of course but overall, I've left many appointments dissapointed or even crying, when I've had a pretty happy emotional balanced pregnancy, but you know something is wrong when you leave appts upset like this regularly.

Understaffed! Dr. Seems wore out. You get less than 10 minutes a visit. No ultrasounds are being performed there currently due to understaffing. ( what I was told) Very sad, when I went there five years ago for my first pregnancy it was absolutely amazing. Hope delivery is a better experience than the doctors visits. 😔

If you are a new mom please do not go here. They do not communicate very well. It’s only mid-wives here. They are not very educated. The lack of knowledge is just sad. Go to an actual doctor or further out of Lacey/ Olympia area is better for you and your baby

  • 2/5 heidi H. 1 year ago on Google
The only reason why this place gets two stars even is because of dr. Sorensen, otherwise it would be zero. Not only do they bully you endlessly if you don't want to have a c section, but the midwife decided it was best to threaten me today that they "wouldn't deliver my baby due to size" Midwife Swift was extremely out of line in the way that she spoke to me today, citing ACOG as her source of scare tactic even though all of my research has been strictly ACOG policy. She also refused me care that I was previously told would happen, even though I'm to be induced in 3 days stating she's not comfortable with it. She also made me very uncomfortable by forcing me to retake the group b test though I had already taken it and received negative results. She was pushing and stretching so she could schedule me for a c section which I told her explicitly I do not consent to. I do not recommend this place at all, literally go anywhere else to get better care unless you can guarantee you'll only see dr. Sorensen! She is a very good doctor without all the scare tactics and bs.

I normally don’t write reviews, but this place is terrible. I have gone through a pregnancy, and a miscarriage at this facility. This place is so unorganized, and has been since 2021. I have been trying to figure out if I have an infection after my miscarriage. I went in, and the doctor took my urine for testing. This was 20 days ago, and the test didn’t happen due to an “identification problem”. Meaning it wasn’t labeled correctly. No one tried to call me to come back in so I can test again. Then you call the nurse lines and no one calls you back until after the office is already closed. Anytime is has to due with labs, they take forever to get back to you, and sometimes they just don’t call you at all. You have to check your labcorp account, because half the time the new labs aren’t in the patient portal. Run far away.
