This
place
is
a
true
blessing.
It's
a
miracle
for
families
that
live
a
ways
away
and
have
a
child
who
is
a
patient
at
Children's
Hospital.
Rainbow
House
helps
families
who
have
to
travel
more
than
60
miles
to
Children's
by
offering
a
room,
kitchen,
laundry,
and
more
in
a
"home
away
from
home"
that
is
a
10
minute
walk
or
5
minutes
drive
or
(free!)
shuttle
ride
away
from
the
hospital
and
clinic.
The
stay
is
free.
They
accept
donations
of
money,
groceries,
laundry
soap,
books,
etc.
The
money
all
supports
the
House
and
staffing
as
the
stay
is
free,
while
groceries
and
books
other
things
are
provided
to
families.
The
website
says
it
costs
about
$70/night
for
a
family
to
stay,
but
again,
we
were
never
asked
to
make
a
donation
nor
was
it
mentioned.
We
will
certainly
do
so,
though,
and
probably
drop
off
groceries
whenever
we
come
through
Omaha.
The
staff
are
so
kind
and
so
are
the
other
guest
families.
If
you
have
to
stay
awhile,
you
become
a
bit
more
than
a
guest
as
the
staff
and
other
families
will
check
in
with
you
about
you
and
your
family
are
doing
because
they
really
care.
The
rooms
are
incredibly
spacious.
The
dining
room/kitchen
is
very
clean.
Many
families
have
to
stay
for
more
than
a
day
or
two,
and
you
are
well
taken
care
of.
There
are
4
kitchen
'stations'
fully
equipped
with
stove/oven
and
cooking
utensils.
Each
room
has
a
private
pantry
behind
the
kitchen
with
a
mini-fridge
to
store
groceries.
This
place
was
a
miracle
for
us.
Some
families
have
had
to
travel
a
long
ways
and
end
up
staying
for
a
month
or
more.
Can
you
imagine
the
expense
if
your
family
had
to
stay
in
a
motel?
Eat
out
every
meal
or
subsist
on
snacks?
And
there's
no
rest
in
a
hospital.
Rainbow
House
is
as
real
of
a
true
blessing
as
I
have
ever
seen.
