Douglas County Health Center

Nursing home Psychiatric hospital Public health department

😠 This bleak, depressing, poorly run "hospital" is the last place I'd want to end up. The nurses are under-qualified, the social services workers like to isolate patients and the pharmacy employs people of questionable ethics IMO. The patients seem to be kept heavily drugged up to avoid problems. It's... People often mention care,

Currently on probation after an investigation by Health and Human Services revealed a series of "mishaps" and "incidents." That says it all. Avoid this dump like the plague.

Very uncaring people, don't place family here! They make harsh remarks and make patients cry, I've never seen a more unprofessional care -- ha ha facility. Work left to NA unqualified and your loved ones belonging are theres...they steal. end the County to investigate like they did the landfill....Criminals free place to get resources ... thats here..money, debit cards and free snacks.

I had a mental break down and had to seek help with this company. During that time I was told that I was on a grant and would not have to owe anything. All of the sudden, a year later I receive and invoice saying my account was past due. There was no other information on how to dispute or even pay the bill except calling a specific number. I called that number multiple times and left multiple messages and no one ever got back to me. Fast forward 6 months and many attempts to contact them. I now get a letter in the mail from a 3rd party collections agency asking if I accept the debt. Of course I would not seeing that this place would not even contact me, let alone pick up a phone. I am currently still fighting this and may seek legal advice if it is not rectified.

I fell on the stairs hurting my shoulder n chest I went to UNMC n the doctor gave me a referral for an Orthopedic specialist but due to my insurance situation I had to go to the clinic to seek help I begged them for an MRI but to no avail I had to go through physical therapy that only had me in extreme pain n at the of complaints was made to feel as if I was faking an injury was told nearly every time they didn't prescribe pain medication n I was some sort of bum or Freud that they could treat with total disrespect I had only consistently asked to please be given a referral to have an MRI done but every medical person I seen acted to me in a very unsimpathetic way fortunately after all the many painful n humiliating visits to physical therapy Nebraska expanded Medicaid n I signed up allowing to see real doctors that put me in for an MRI that would show rupture in my chest muscle n tendons damaged in my shoulder the tendon between my chest n shoulder nearly detached causing increasable pain n discomfort !! The nightmare of the clinic is over n now 2 1/2 later I'm scheduled for operations to repair what can be repaired unfortunately tendons have to be repaid as soon after the injury as possible n due to the absolute neglect I received there they maybe unrepairable if I had money I would absolutely sue them for the unprofessional way I was treated that caused me a huge amount of pain n humiliation in my 58 years never would I have thought this could happen in the US let alone Omaha Nebraska the whole thing saddens me to think others are being treated in this way n may even become handy capped because of the extreme neglect n incompetence!!

Saved my life during some terrible mental health periods. Everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly. I learned a ton of skills and resources the short time I received outpatient care in both a solo and group setting with my therapist. Her name was Peggy and she taught me how to pull myself out of the darkest places. I recommend to anyone who is struggling and needing care to try out a walk-in triage visit.

Mental health center.. very unstructured and health care givers are not professional either Staff one particular staff was look down on me and said something bad then walked away And not proper apology after i brought up the issue No valuable group time and nothing helped me. You basically stay in your bed all day long. It was total waste of time.

I will never go there again for services. Looking back on my situation and how I was treated in regards to some issues that I was personally dealing with. I was very disrespected.

I was here when COVID started until Aug of that year I believe in my in my heart that without there great care I would of been dead . So when a chance to get my inpatient Physical Therapy here I jumped at chance . Been here about 2 months and care is still A ++××× . If there was 10 stars I would given it to DCHC.. God Bless the workers and staff here..

Can get a therapist or psychiatrist appointment in 1-2 weeks as a new patient. I don't know of anywhere else that does that.

I used to work here!!!! I love this place. This place is a God Send for those of us who can't afford to be in fancy nursing home and I love and miss everyone I used to work with! Oops ! I must clarify that I am talkin' 'bout the hospitalhospital part of this building. Anyway, I am sure that the health department deserves kudos too!!

I've been to places where they commit medical battery and kill patients. Douglas County health doesn't do that. It's a safe place to be.

Front dest lady named Kim is absolutely rude and gives attitude if you ask questions about anything. She just hangs up on you when you are done with your call.

Oh My! I was looking for care for a friend's relative and checked Nursing Home Compare and saw that The Douglas County Health Center has been downgraded from a 5 Star facility to a 1 Star facility by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This is an unfortunate development and a heart break to see such a decline. You might want to change your website to reflect that you are no longer 5 stars but down to a 1 star.
