Oh my gosh this food is amazing!!! As a vegetarian there’s not a lot of restaurants that have great vegetarian options. Immediately looking at the menu there were two options that sounded great I ordered them. The prices were fantastic everybody was super sweet. Customer service is the best!!! The cactus an egg quesadilla is pretty much the best quesadilla I’ve ever tasted! I will absolutely be back I cannot wait till my next visit to try something different. If you’re reading this review do not sleep on this place.

We stumbled across La Sierra while searching for something new in the area to try that we'd never had. They serve Mexican cuisine hailing from the state of Durango region of Mexico. First, the service was excellent, as our server took the time to explain different things about the food offerings on the menu. She was especially helpful with advising us about dishes that may be good for our young son. She also graciously brought us 3 different smaller Gorditas to sample some of the different fillings. Needless to say, we enjoyed all the food as well as the homemade Horchata and Cucumber Water. I had the Pork and Ancho Chili sauce plate. It was accompanied by spectacular rice and beans which is often a bland and uninspired side at othe establishments! We also got 4 of the Empanadas to go which are excellent! The portions were good and the prices were very modest. Needless to say, we will be returning soon! We highly recommend the Las Sierra Restaurant! One side note, as they are serving foods from the Durango region, they do not have tacos and enchiladas smothered in cheese, etc. These dishes are not typical for the state of Durango region, and therefore not on the menu. We found this to be a pleasant surprise!

Don't miss out! Homemade tortillas for the gordita's, authentic flavors, excellent prices, family run and owned. This is a different experience than the typical Mexican restaurants around town and I highly recommend it. Picadillo Verde gordita and quesadilla were delicious, everything was delicious honestly. And get some horchata, worth it.

The gorditas are phenomenal, can’t wait to try all the varieties! Horchata and cucumber water are delicious and refreshing. Speedy and friendly service, this is a great restaurant that offers Durango region cuisine, which is unique and absolutely worth checking out! 10/10

This is a walk up and order establishment with food served on foam plates. We each got the pollo plate. The pollo was a pile of hard, shredded, chewy pieces of chicken boiled with bell peppers. It wasn't good at all. The beans, rice and hot sauce were good. We really had hoped for some soft, hot, fresh tortillas and instead the corn ones were thick and dry and the flour ones were thick and under cooked. 2 plates and 2 bottles of Modelo cost over $40! I was really hoping for some good authentic Mexican and while it was definitely authentic, they missed the mark on *good*.

Best Authentic Mexican food of my LIFE! We stopped through Omaha on our road trip and I can't recommend this place enough. The shredded beef plate and homemade flour tortillas were out of this world. The heat hits without scarring your mouth and has a sublty sweet taste. You're waiting to shovel this into your face. Will be stopping back here on our way back across the states!

This place is a hidden gem! Delicious food and very friendly staff. Even had a nice conversation with another patron while they waited for their order. Don't let the small dining area fool you! Absolutely plan to eat here again and regularly.

This place is legit!!! I don’t eat Mexican when I travel (unless I’m in McAllen or Brownsville…somewhere like that)…I eat too much of it at home…and I like authentic, and that’s hard to find. So after checking out “restaurants” on Google…this place popped up. The 4.9 rating caught my eye…that’s unheard of…I had to try it…against my better judgment… 1. Pork in Ancho pepper sauce 2. Shredded beef in spicy red sauce 3. Poblano peppers with ground beef Then the owner added a sample of cactus with egg… I got the Gorditas because they are handmade daily from corn… Then he brought 2 sauce bottles…hot red sauce…then regular green… I started with red…it can’t be too hot for me… But wanted to try the green…I have never tasted anything like it…very unique flavor…I never picked up red sauce again… HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Just know, it’s not your “normal” Mexican restaurant…but the TASTE OF THE FOOD IS GREAT!!!! And definitely not like your everyday Mexican restaurant…

This place does a lot of things right. The tortillas(flour) are made by hand and are really tasty. The aguas frescas are super refreshing as well. We tasted Pepino 🥒 (cucumber) and Horchata(rice water) so good. The food was good, I tasted the Machaca and eggs plate and it was good. Good taste and accompanied with rice and beans. Good taste but nothing outstanding. Good experience overall.

This was the best Mexican food I have ever had. Genuine authentic Mexican food. I had the spicy shredded beef burrito along with a side of beans and rice. The best refried beans and rice ever. The owners are so polite and the restaurant was spotless clean. Highly recommended

I came excited to try a gordita for the first time, and I was blown away by how good the food was. I was really happy that there were several vegetarian options on the menu, and our host assured me that any of the options could come with or without cheese. I loved the poblano + cheese and the cactus + egg. The spicy shredded beef and ground beef + poblano was also excellent. The host was very helpful and patiently explained the menu to us. The inside of the restaurant is also very charming and beautifully decorated. I will definitely be coming back!

This place without a doubt is Five Stars! We love to try new places & Mexican Food is our go to. We found La Sierra on our search & within 2 miles of the hotel. We walked in 20 before closing time. We were treated wonderfully the entire time we were there, never felt rushed whatsoever. The cooks, husband & wife, also the owners, brought us out each a sample, before our meal, "it is something new we are trying enjoy & let us know what you think" he said. It was superb, at that moment we knew we were about to be served some of the absolute best authentic Mexican food we have tasted. This restaurant will be our visit every time we are in Omaha, we were lucky to find you & Omaha, NE. is lucky to have you La Sierra! Our server is one of the owners two daughters, she was genuine and a delight to chat with, very knowledgeable, and proud of their Family owned restaurant. The food is authentic & delicious, best we've had. The prices are reasonable, the margaritas are great and most of all, the place was spotless. The owners of this restaurant, who by the way are the only staff that works here, they take pride in all aspects of their duties, it certainly shows, you all are Top Notch! An A+ restaurant all the way around!!

Amazing!!! Nice and clean atmosphere. It was our first time and everything was explained prior to ordering. I have to say it again, Amazing! Everything we tried today was great especially the excellent service. If the item you want says HOT or SPICY it is not a joke. Thank you La Sierra, can not wait to come back.

Delicious!!! We tried La Sierra Restaurant for something quick to eat before an appointment. It is made to order, so wasn't super fast, but that is okay. The food is delicious. I've since gone back for takeout and I will keep going back. Service is excellent.

Wow - what a great find! Everything was so fresh and authentic. They make everything from scratch including the flour tortillas! This was our first time here so we ordered at the counter and sat down - and they brought us out the chicken empanadas to try! They were not dry and very flavorful! The homemade red and green sauces that they bring out are fantastic as well. I got the pork with rice, beans, and flour tortillas - the plate was huge! Wasn’t too spicy and everything had amazing flavor. I couldn't finish it but I tried my best! I wish my stomach was bigger! We also got the beef - this one was spicy and delicious! Next time I’ll be getting that. Another person in our party got the Pepper and Cheese which had wonderful flavor… you can’t go wrong with anything here!
