This place goes by three names, Omaha Zoo Hotel, Comfort Suites and Howard Johnson. Do not stay at this place, allegedly going through renovations. The rooms are in horrible condition, not clean whatsoever, stained linen, broken. Wires exposed, complete run down place. I did not feel safe with my family we left an hour into our stay.

I'm shocked Wyndham would associate their name with this place. I understand it's under renovation, but this is not how you renovate a business establishment. We pulled up to what appeared to be an abandoned Comfort Inn with a "Howard Johnson" sign draped over the sign. Check in was relatively smooth, but we were starting to question ourselves as we walked past a murky pool and the "breakfast" area (there was never any breakfast) covered in Sheetrock dust. In the hallway, most doors were ajar with Sheetrock all over the floors, wallpaper falling down, trash and clothes outside the rooms, and closets open and packed with junk. There was almost no lighting in our room. Our bathroom sink and shower didn't drain, the bathroom counter was slanted and falling off the wall, and only 1 out of 5 light bulbs worked in the bathroom. The sheets were stained. The TV didn't work. There was no hot water. The list goes on and on. Wait a long, long time before considering staying here.

My group and I were puzzled when we arrived, because the signs all said Comfort Inn, and not Howard Johnson. The photos online are very deceiving, cuz it looked like a nice hotel, but when you got there it looked like garbage. There were odd smells in the room, the sheets were stained, and there was mold behind the peeling wallpaper. The bathroom was atrocious, and honestly somewhat scary. In the morning I saw a mouse near the breakfast bar. And the entire place kind of smelled like drywall dust, because it seems like there were renovations that got started, but maybe never really were finished.

Dirty rooms, old and rusty showers. Nothing like what they show in the pictures. Besides, THEY ARE LOUD!!!!! can't have a day without been waking up by their LOUD talk.

Rooms were filthy and falling apart. Management was very rude and mean. Cracks in the shower wall and no fire alarms in some rooms. I do not recommend this place at all, if I could give negative I would.

Liked the location but this place is a DUMP and disgustingly dirty. The ONE staff member (manager?) tried but there was nothing he could really do. The bathroom had the most disgustingly dirty tub I would never have even tried. There was no Ice machine (working), no wifi, no phone or lights in the room other than one overhead light, The TV barely worked after the person replaced the remote, the pool was murky and I swear I saw scum on it. The pictures online are NOTHING like the actual hotel which had signs of construction going on everywhere. We left at 8pm the evening we checked in because we could not stand it anymore. The last picture is so dim because that was all the light in the room. Also the pool was supposed to be open until 11pm but was closed when we came by to get our stuff at 8pm. There was ONE towel in the bathroom no amenties in the room at all.

Place is a mess. Seems to be going through a remodel under new ownership right now. Employees are helpful, but don't have much to work with. Do not recommend.

I had been driving for 15 hours and was ready to goto sleep. After walking through the hotel and into my room I was shocked and appalled and it gave me the motivation to drive another 8 hours back home finishing my drive. The other bad reviews are not an exaggeration, do not stay here. I did not feel comfortable even asking for a refund, It felt like a hotel you go to get murdered in

Our recent stay at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Omaha was an absolute disaster, a stark contrast to the standards one might expect from such a well-known hotel chain. The moment we entered our room, we were struck by a wave of dismay and disbelief at the condition we found. This was the nastiest hotel we've ever experienced. Not even stray dogs or cats should be staying in this filthy place. The room's state was horrendous, with an overwhelming sense of neglect and dirtiness that made it completely uninhabitable. It was evident that the most basic cleaning standards had been blatantly ignored, creating an environment that felt not only uncomfortable but also unsanitary. The severity of the room's condition was such that we couldn't even consider staying for a minute longer. What compounded our frustration was the reaction of the hotel owner. Upon approaching him for a refund, his immediate recognition of our complaint, without us uttering more than a few words, suggested this wasn't an isolated incident but a recurring problem. This acknowledgment, albeit silent, was a clear testament to the ongoing issues with the hotel's quality and management. So if you like to be yelled at by a hotel owner for how nasty their hotel is, this is the place to go. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. It was a deeply frustrating experience, one that has significantly tarnished our view of the Howard Johnson brand. It's disheartening to see such disregard for guest comfort and basic hygiene standards in a well-known hotel chain. We caution others to reconsider booking here, as the reality of our experience was a far cry from what one would expect from any reputable lodging establishment. This place should be bulldozed and the owner should be banned from owning a hotel. Would hate to see how disgusting his house probably is.

Dear lord, Wyndham needs to drop this place completely. Sign said Comfort Inn with a cloth Howard Johnson over it. Front desk had a paper saying "the Zoo Motel" Fortunately desk also had a sign that said you could "change your mind about your room within 30 minutes" I'm honestly surprised I may it to the room. Hallway was dark, scary and disheveled. Room had "advertised features" but also a patio door to the pool area. The vertical blinds were missing vanes. I left. Still haven't seen my refund but will deal with that.

They are under construction, But even if you excuse that nothing in the hotel looks well maintained it's all very dated and ran down and something wrong or broken or not working or janky in every room so hopefully with this construction or this renovation is probably a better word they do everything from top to bottom paint fix walls new furniture new beds. So I'm hoping once everything is completely renovated and they're done this would look like and will be a whole new establishment. The other thing that have a serious problem with is this is supposed to be a Wyndham hotel and I am a Wyndham rewards member, a diamond member. Diamond members are supposed to be able to do early check-ins if available and late checkout always this location for some weird reason does not honor that they told me that they don't do late check out which I'm like what hotels don't offer late check out the standard amenity or perk offered to clients any and everywhere I've ever stayed

Honestly, I've stayed in worse. Rooms are dated abd in need of repair, vending machines don't work. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Very accommodating to someone's traveling with two service dogs. Would I stay again? Probably.

The only good thing is the location of the hotel. Trust the other reviews when people say to avoid the hotel at all costs. The check in was already problematic because we booked a room with one king size bed, upon checking in the man at the front desk said he didn’t have any single bed rooms available, and could only fit us into a two bed room. Which was okay, but he demanded that we pay extra. After arguing about the price, he caved and we got to our room. Walking down the hall we knew it was a mess. The hall way was dark and the ceiling above some of the doors was gone, it was just rafters. Our room was somehow worse. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall, and had visible mold underneath. The beds had two tiny pillows, and the bathroom had no towels. By the bathtub there was more black mold, and the bathtub was all rusted. We were taking photos of the poor condition, when the man working at the desk came running out of his room yelling at us, asking why we were taking photos, and telling us that we had to delete the photos. We immediately left and went to a different hotel. AVOID THIS HOTEL It’s horrible, if I could leave a zero star review I would.

The room that I was assigned was very messy. Trash was still on the desks. Candy strewn all over the bed. Beds unmade , no towels or soap in bathroom. Tv and phones did not work. Clerk said that no maids were there at night to clean room. Offered clean sheets but no towels and had to make bed myself. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone at all.
