Solid little local favorite bar and grill in old town with American food and lots of beverage options. Service was friendly and prompt. Seating on my visit was 1st come (seat yourself). That said, seating is available inside or outside, and overflow restaurant space is also available. There is even a sand volleyball court outside in the back as well which is unique. I enjoyed some electronic darts with family while awaiting my food, which came quickly and was a very sizeable portion. Burgers, Reubens, and Philly sandwiches are favorites here. Additional options available such as clubs and more. Parking is tight however, so prepare accordingly as one may have to park across the small city street or around the back. Don't miss this casual little local dining hotspot if in the area. I would certainly stop here again when coming through town for a bite with friends or family.

If you're looking for a delicious cheese steak, Barrett's Barleycorn Pub & Grill is your place. The cream cheese sauce is fantastic. The bread is super soft and absorbs all of the sandwich juices without getting soggy. I do wish that the outside of the sub roll was a little toasted, but it is still a damn good sandwich. You can get it loaded, which comes with peppers and jalapeños. It doesn't add any extra heat but does give the sandwich a different favor profile. The sandwiches come with fries or chips. These are your standard bar fries. Nothing special. I do like how the droppings of the sandwich fall on the fries. Yum! Very good! I will be back for this sandwich.

Don't get me wrong, we LOVED the food, but the service sucked! Our waitress was way too busy, we got avoided over and hour and 1/2, then had to go find her and she she was still rude. A little explanation and a smile goes a long way. We'd love to come back, but we hope the service gets much better before that. And it was my birthday... we were completely let down. :(

I was very very impressed!! Cool little spot with plenty seating. Great bar and the kitchen is in a tiny corner when you first walk in, holy cow the quantity and quality they put out was astonishing!! 3 guys with literally feet to work in just nailing it! The bloody Mary was awesome, a pickle would have set it off! Service was great all around. We had the french dip and the New York club. Probably two of the best sandwiches I've ever had! They also have a horseradish mayo so good I could eat it with a spoon. I definitely will be back!

Normally, I don't review bars. For the most part the charm is what I like when I go out, and most themed bars play up heavily on that theme. This place is no exception. I always make it a point to check out the local fan fare, and I can say, this is probably the best place I have ever had a Ruben. The only thing that can match that is the service I got. Both were beyond anything I've had in a long time. Minneapolis has a lot of Irish bars, but the simple setting is met with an absolutely wonderful flavor I haven't had in years from such an establishment. The apatisers were wonderful, and the balance of flavor in the Ruben was amazing.

The best bar food in Omaha hands down. Rueben, pork tenderloin and beef and cheddar are my go to meals but everything is great.

We ate at the bar. The food was amazing. It was everything I've wanted in a hamburger for a long time. I would say the burger is in my forever top 3. I honestly had two burgers that were in my forever favorites spot and now I have to have a 3rd spot. Also we had a Philly cheese steak, I would say it's the best in town. Service was great, I found the bar to be very comfortable. You'll have to be patient with parking if you drove and arrived at a busy time but you will be rewarded!

A fun, relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff and a nice menu. The chicken cheese steak (loaded) with Irish fries was delicious and a very generous portion. Looking forward to trying the beef cheese steak next!

I hit Barrett's pub a few times a week on my way home around 730pm. I can always count on excellent and prompt service coupled with a smile and food that is always satisfying. Their burgers are big, juicy, and never overcooked and dry. It's satisfying some days to know that when I'm finished working all day I'm going to sit in the pub and enjoy a delicious meal that is top shelf plus the prices are beyond reasonable. There's never a reason to get fast food when you can get a grilled cooked meal as fast and cost-effective like Barret's. Try it once, and you'll be a regular

foods great, service is great, definitely a good spot to catch a game, I find it weird that the guy I believe to be the owners son just sits and gets drunk all day and night there, kind of a bad look. Used to be a lot more fun when it was a late night spot! but still will be back around, that damn philly is too good

Edit: one of the cooks or owners came over and gave our group a genuine apology and reedemed our experience. It was much appreciated. This place has great food and is an omaha staple. I'm really disappointed in the way my group was treated when we came to dine and drink in. The waitress rachel was incredibly rude about us adding chairs to our table, although us doing so in no way blocked the aisles, or made our group protrude into the walkway any more than any regular table. There was nowhere to accomidate our group of 6 besides adding chairs to the normal tables. They offered no suggestions to accommodate us what so ever even after I asked how we can help. Kate tried to help us and at least remained professional. We also overheard Rachel telling the table next to us sorry if we were crowding then and they could move over if they needed. Being service industry and a local I am appalled by this experience.

How have I never given Barret's a review. Some of the best bar food you can ever find. Always wonderful service. This place is great for game days to stop and have a quick bite and a brew with some friends. Take the big group for food and drinks. Very affordable amazingly great food. And the best Pork Tenderloin you will ever have. (Only on Thursdays and Fridays)

Our first time getting take out from them— Absolutely amazing reuben, fried mushrooms, & poboy! Service was super friendly & thoughtful. We only live about 5 minutes away so the food was still super fresh— we will definitely be back in person next time!

A smaller place but lively and comfortable. The service was quick and friendly. The fish and chips were delicious, seasoned well, flakey and tender. The Reuben was awesome. The bread was the perfect thickness to act as a vehicle of deliciousnes rather than the main part of the meal. Sports were on all of the televisions which is perfect for fans. If you are looking for a quiet cozy spot, this isn't it, but it IS a great spot for a nice bite, chatting with your people, and catching the game/s.

Easily the best steak philly and tenderloin sandwich in the region! Seating is a bit cramped, but the pub theme wins over any party of 2-6 people. This is one of my top 10 recommendations for foodies visiting Omaha for the first time.

I have always loved this place. Great atmosphere. The chicken Philly was great although the crinkle fries were just ok. I need to go back on Thursday or Friday though so I can get the amazing pork tenderloin.

Stopped here to eat dinner during our trip to Omaha. I ordered the Beef Philly and my wife ordered the Beef and Cheddar. The food was amazing.

One of the last dive bars still going strong along Leavenworth. Great beers on tap, great service, and great food. Get the breaded mushrooms 🍄😋 and the pork tenderloin!

Great bar food. Thursday is pork tenderloin day which is fantastic. They have another sandwich which I can't remember the name of, but it has horseradish mayo and it's my favorite. Good selection of drinks and a friendly staff. Barrett's is an Omaha institution.

Always a great time here. Had some food and a few drinks. The place was slammed with patrons but the servers and cooks were up to the task. Havent been here in 10 years but it still exactly how I remembered it. Thank you

Passing through Omaha on I-80 and wanted to try something local instead of your typical fast food along the interstate. Just named my newborn Barrett so it was ez picking this restaurant. Got the beef philly and was not disappointed, one of the best I’ve ever had. If your on 80 take the 10min and try out Barrett’s.

The food and drinks here is always great. Bartenders are very friendly. Prices are very reasonable for a good sit down style meal and some drinks. Very generous portions as well.

After four trips I was finally able to have had the famous tenderloin sandwich. There's a reason it sells out, because it's exceptional! I've also had the NY Club, Patty Melt, and the Cordon Bleu sandwich... It's all great. I say it's the best bar food in Midtown Omaha.

Went there for dinner tonight. Invited by my son and his wife to join them and my baby granddaughter for our favorite blue cheese burger. Learned from his wife that while waiting for my son and I to arrive, the waitress had been rude and told her she and my granddaughter needed to move from the 6 top table. She explained we were minutes away...literally across the street at my house. The waitress didn't care. I tried to explain to the waitress, that I know, that they chose that table because 1) the table was the only one available when they arrived and 2) my 15 mos old granddaughter has cancer and this table was away from the crowded tables of unmasked people (vaccination status unknown). Her reply with a sneer was, "If she has cancer, maybe you shouldn't have brought her out". I have patronized this well known Leavenworth establishment for 35 years. I supported them during COVID by ordering to go and encouraging others to support them when they were struggling. Tonight was the last time I will spend a dime in that place! ☘🚫🇮🇪

I know they miss the LSU Tigers coming to the CWS this year but Barrett’s Barleycorn and Pub is a great place for food and drinks no matter who is playing in town. TVs line the walls and a local pub feel with friendly staff. The star, however, is their food. Great selection of sandwiches and burgers with a killer line of Philly Steak options. I went with the Philly beef with jalapeños and boy was it good!! Huge to boot. My buddy had a double cheeseburger and he said it didn’t disappoint either. Highly recommend if you are ever in Omaha! Hotty Toddy!

Got the famous Philly here and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It was flavorful and the fries were crispy. Also got a side of their fried onions which came with a side of ranch - also really good. Wish the side would’ve come out earlier but it came out the same time as the rest of our food. Service was alright. The lady that served us acted a little pompous.

Not super inviting, would not suggest for groups. Might have had a better experience if I went there solo. Not a lot of space even for small groups

Literally everything on the menu is so good - great environment. Feels like one of those places where you walk in and everyone says hi. Hardworking and attentive staff!

The food is great! In town from Dallas and was recommended to try this place out and wasn’t disappointed. Tried out the grilled Pb&J and was surprisingly very good!

Always a great place to go to. Would have given them 5 stars but didn't use the facilities and that must be rated for a 5. All staff were polite and pleasant. I had a fabulous Rueben & fries w/ an ice cold beer, perfection! I don't know how they did it but sandwich was piping hot the entire time I ate it. That's a must for me, don't like warm food. Think my bill was only $14, such a great deal. You must go to Barrett's on Thrs or Fri, they serve one of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches, bet it could beat out all of Iowa's competition!!!
