I rarely give five stars, so this means this place was amazing. They had a very unique menu and atmosphere. Small little 0lace to get your sushi fix. The flavor was phenomenal and fresh. The presentation was also very nice, which is nice to see. Whenever we go to Omaha, this will be on our menu.

First off I want to thank everyone at this restaurant for making my first time trio to Omaha a great food experience! The chefs and service staff were fantastic. They sat me right at the bar where I could watch and examine the food preparations. This was not my typical Sushi experience and was going into hoping exactly that! I tried a lot of new fish and creations, all well worth it! There is a reason why they were a James Beard Award Finalist. I would highlight recommend making a reservation and trying sushi and items outside of the comfort zone. The staff helped and recommended sever different creations and I ordered them all. Had to splurge, who knew if I would be back! Excellent and Bravo! Keep up the great food, atmosphere and talent!

To ever think that sushi is this marvelous in the middle of the US, far away from the ocean. My first time in the state where my boyfriend grew up in. We met up with his best friend who spoke highly of this place and I’d trust any other recommendations he has after this. Amber helped discover the best of the best when we asked her for her favorites. With the guys they ordered the Moriwase Nigiri kobayashi maru, go-san and others. I of course ordered the vegan sundried maki which I loved and the ume shiso which was not my flavor preference but can be someone else’s. Kudos to the chef, where would this place be without them. Kudos to amber for being an amazing addition to the experience of it all.

Daddy - daughter date night. Thankful that the hostess was able to seat us at the sushi bar without a reservation. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed watching the process, but It was probably a little too high end for her tastes. Had several different selections that I didn’t remember to document. My daughter enjoyed initial tastes but found most of what we had to be more spicy than she desired. The one that wasn’t, she said was too sweet. I dunno. The selections were fresh, prepared quickly and presented well. The fish had excellent flavor and was I enjoyed everything. I will have to come back, by myself. Unfortunately my wife doesn’t do Sushi.

Wow, what an amazing experience. We ate at the sushi bar. Was so interesting watching the dishes being prepared. The aburi wagyu was fantastic, melts in your mouth and such complex flavors. The sushi was top notch very fresh tasting and everything was perfectly portioned that each chew brought on new taste. Can’t wait to go back. Service was fantastic and a great ambiance.

I had previously given this place 5 stars because their sushi and quality is very good, however, I am updating it to 2 stars because of a few things I experienced the last time I visited. First, the service was not good. Our sushi was brought out to us on a platter and when we asked for small plates because we were sharing everything, they never brought them out. You would think the first thing you would get at a restaurant is a plate. Also, their water glasses are very small and the server didn’t even come around to fill up our water once. Although, their sushi tastes good, the price per plate is not at all reasonable for what you get. We are 2 people who don’t typically eat a whole lot and we spent nearly $100 for 5 rolls (no appetizers and no drinks in this price) and it didn’t even fill us up. We usually spend about $40 for 3 or 4 rolls of really good sushi at other sushi restaurants and get very full. Another thing that really took away from the overall experience and opinion of this place is that the restaurant is VERY stingy. They don’t offer any of the basics that every other sushi restaurant offers, for example, no ginger or wasabi, no kids chopsticks, no dessert menu, no basic appetizers like gyoza, egg rolls, etc. and we were charged $3 for a side of spicy mayo and eel sauce which was very upsetting. We always get a side of spicy mayo and have never been charged extra for it, let alone $3!! You have to ask for soy sauce and when they pour it for you, they literally only give you a few drops. Their extreme penny pinching made this place very unattractive to us.Once we even asked if the sushi chef could add spicy crab to the top of a plain roll that had nothing else on it and they said they couldn’t do it. This a very tiny restaurant and they only have maybe 10 tables. Getting a table is usually pretty difficult and I realized why. They take reservations with the expectation that each party will spend 2-3 hours there. Service is very slow and your sushi doesn’t come out until about an hour after you have ordered so they can get you to order more drinks and appetizers while you wait. Such a waste of time if you want to just sit, eat and leave and don’t want to spend more than an hour there. All in all, very disappointed in this place.

Nestled in Omaha, Yoshitomo stands as a true testament to the artistry of sushi-making. After an exceptional dining experience, I am convinced that Yoshitomo is not only among the top sushi spots in town but quite possibly the best. Seated at the bar, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the intricate craft that goes into every plate. The skilled chefs at Yoshitomo don't just prepare sushi; they create edible works of art. Watching their precision and attention to detail as they meticulously crafted each dish was a mesmerizing experience in itself. A standout highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the short rib bites. These delectable bites of flavor were a harmonious blend of succulent meat and delicate spices, leaving my taste buds in a state of pure bliss. Each bite was an explosion of textures and tastes, showcasing the chef's innovative approach to sushi fusion. Beyond the culinary delights, the ambiance at Yoshitomo is inviting and modern, allowing diners to focus on the meal while enjoying a relaxing atmosphere. The staff's warmth and knowledge added to the overall enjoyment, as they were more than happy to guide us through the menu and recommend exceptional choices. Yoshitomo has truly mastered the art of sushi-making, creating an unforgettable dining experience for sushi enthusiasts. If you're seeking not only delicious sushi but also an immersive culinary journey, I wholeheartedly recommend sitting at the bar and indulging in their masterpieces. Don't miss out on the chance to savor the finest that Omaha's sushi scene has to offer.

If you're looking for an elevated sushi experience, you just found it. Yoshitomo is located in Benson. The interior is small and cozy. A reservation is pretty much a must. This is the perfect spot for a date night or a special occasion. We started off the night with edamame, an Oni Egg and drinks all around. I ordered the Fukui which is a cucumber vodka cocktail. It was delicious. For dinner we ordered 3 plates - Hamapon, Kani Miso & Carbonara. Listed in order of what I would recommend. We also ordered four Maki rolls - the Taita, Royale, Khaleesi, and the Gojira. Listed in order of what I would recommend first. The staff is so amazing and our server was fun to chat with. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny and to be wow'd. MUST TRYS: Hamapon, Kani Miso, Taita, & Royale. 5-stars all around.

Yoshitomo far exceeded my expectations. I have always been a loyal fan of Blue Sushi Sake Grill here in town, but had always heard wonderful things about Yoshitomo from friends, co-workers, etc. While recently visiting Benson, I stumbled across the sign and figured I should give it a shot. Upon entering, I was promptly seated at the bar area. Although I was hoping to be seated a table, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to watch the sushi chefs work their magic throughout the whole evening. The thought, care, and precision that went into each and every roll that was handmade in front of me made it worth every penny. Not only was it impressive to watch, but it also made me extremely excited for my food to come out. I started with the Aburi Wagyu, which was buttery and delicious. Highly recommend. My main course consisted of 3 different rolls. The Simba, Rangoon, and Kobayashi Maru were all fantastic. The sauces were to die for, and the flavor combinations were unlike any others I had experienced at other sushi spots around town. Overall, my time spent dining here was phenomenal, and I plan to come back very soon. It was a total treat, and exceeded expectations. Great job to everyone at Yoshitomo for delivering high quality Japanese style sushi.

Outstanding sushi rolls in a quaint location. The small plates are wonderful too, especially the sourdough toast with yellowtail and aburi wagyu. The service was a little slow, but it isn't too unusual for a weekday lunch.

Everything was pretty good this time (Winter 2023). I'm wondering if there is something different than pre-COVID. I remember it was pretty incredible that time and I claimed it was my favorite in Omaha. Four stars across the board considering the price point. Not sure if the fish actually stood out to me like last time. The service was ok but my wife and I sat with empty plates and/or drinks for a few 15 minute periods and the server was not in the dining room. Still up there however for good sushi in Omaha.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, stunning decor with wooden walls, pops of red, and rope lights. We made a reservation which is recommended as the site informs you to allow an hour and a half to two hours for your meal. This is because it is an experience and the food is art. Everything we ordered was bursting with amazing flavors and colors, with each bite we took we fell in love with these amazing dishes. The Matcha tea was just what I needed to warm up on this cold January evening. It was so flavorful I enjoyed two cups full. My husband and I both agree this meal was one of the best we have had. We will definitely be returning for another delectable meal.

A superb sushi spot! We sat at the counter and had a large variety of sushi. Lots of the menu consists of unique takes on classic nigiri, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would certainly come back, worth the trip to Omaha!

Once you try sushi here, there is no other place in Omaha that will be compairable. The flavor, presentation, and service are top-notch. Make sure to get a seat at the bar to see the chefs making art. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself here. It is pricey but worth it.

Best sushi I've had in Omaha. Presentation is beautiful. The specials were by far my favorite nigiri! Staff is friendly and does a good job of checking back in. Strongly recommend sitting at the sushi bar. Went back a second time and it got even better. We love sushi here.

The Royale roll was REALLY good. I’m from out of town, and the rolls here were very intriguing combinations I hadn’t seen before. The lemon one was just ok. The seaweed salad was not traditional seaweed salad. It was good, but didn’t cure my itch. All in all though, the sushi was really good!

Date with my wife. Tried several courses and enjoyed each one. Truffle Scallop had fresh flavor, first truffle and then lemon. The Sourdough dish was awesome.

Best sushi I've had in the three years I've lived in Omaha. The Simba and Omaha Crunch are two of my favorites. The Bushido sake is a perfect compliment to go with whatever you've ordered.

Yoshitomo puts Omaha on the national food scene. The small plates are incredible - the flavors are an adventure in each bite. Come here to try a sushi experience unlike anything you have ever had! The scallop carbonara is absolute divine. Also loved the Hama toast. You truly can’t go wrong!

The devil egg was good I finish it all and the bites that I got was good, you can taste the fat and all the flavor of the wagyu. I wasn't a big fan of the roll tho but it was an amazing experience for me.dont look at the price just just enjoy the food and the portion is not matter.

Incredible restaurant. The food was beyond my expectations. Knowing that this chef is so good and seeing the menu I felt a little overwhelmed at first but the wait staff was excellent at guiding our group through the menu. Sushi was good but the small bites and plates really shown.

Absolutely incredible experience! I’d highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar if you can. Watching each dish being prepared is an experience itself. You can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu, or if you’re feeling adventurous, let the chef decide!

We loved it! The simba roll was the perfect balance of smokey, sweet, and spicy, probably my new favorite sushi roll of all time! We didn't have a reservation on Friday night so we had to sit at the bar, but it was fun to watch them make the food.

Ok quint little sushi place. Very small, very selective menu. Was very curious about finding anything good... I watched the chef, when I was served the Chefs choice nigiri with out any Wasabi or say in the side. Its all added while making it, I was even more intrigued 🤔. However my meal started the wonderful recommendation on the sake. Than the kaki, the oyster on the half shell dish. Than the uni, sea urchin was a delightfully not quite fishy but a little bit linger of a fish. A really unique but flavorful experience. Than the Chefs choice which were all wonderful and told on which way to eat them from the briniest to the most flavorful... Hands down the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. With this staff however, I think it could be a fast food joint and still the best ever.
