Beautiful place to walk around. Unfortunately I was not here the best time of the year however I still enjoyed the walk. We ate at the cafe and the ladies there were so lovely. The food was fresh and there were multiple options for such a small place. I had the hummus veggie wrap and my sister had the egg salad croissant and both were great. They were setting up the Christmas displays which starts tomorrow 11/16 and it looked like it was going to be beautiful with the lights and the poinsettia’s.

Beautiful place to go explore! The garden has lots to do and they sometimes have performers Who will be near the main building performing. The actual garden has many different areas and really nice walking trails. They have definitely a lot to explore. There is also a lot to do in the area and it is a couple blocks from the zoo which is also very exciting! Go check them out!

A wonderful place with many beautiful flowers and at times incredible offerings of art and music, miniature trains, and so much more throughout the year as I've tried to share with my photos. That flowers can come in so many different shapes, size, and colors never ceases to amaze me. The artistry and inventiveness of some has the same impact on me. I hope you get a chance to visit there someday; I hope you enjoy it as we have.

Absolutely superb botanical gardens. Very large and diverse park with plenty of shaded areas and well kept paths. The whole park is quiet the walk but they do offer a tram experience so you if walking is difficult you can still experience all the park had to offer. Also has a super neat model train exhibit that is a must see especially if you have kids. Really cool place.

Beautiful sprawling gardens. Very tranquil, especially on a weekday. The roses are great right now and lots of butterflies to be found! There’s even some toy trains chugging through the forested paths. If you have mobility issues or are tired from the heat, use the tram which also includes more of a guided tour. Enjoy!

I had a dope time here. Super impressed with the scale and variety. We spent a couple hours here and could have spent all day wandering and relaxing. It's honestly one of the best gardens I've been to. I think it's one of the coolest places in Omaha.

Beautiful gardens. We took the tram tour. I usually walk when I go places but it was fun to hear the history. Nice fall gardens. I would love to come back around Christmas to see the gardens. They have a really neat outdoor train set up. It's like a little village. Very peaceful.

The gardens at Lauritzen are beautiful and well-maintained. Tram ride is worth the cost/wait if you want to see the farther places without a big walk. The tram also gives you background to the different areas and on the special exhibits. If it's warm out, make sure you bring water and sunscreen for the outdoor areas- we had a nice breeze and a mild temp so it was perfect! The indoor conservatory/tropical garden was amazing, but definitely humid so take it easy! Some really rare and interesting plants are here including the "Amazing El Stinko!" (Which I have to say I was glad we had just missed the blooming based on the description of the odor it produces 😆). Take your time and look closely and you're guaranteed to see something beautiful and learn something new!

I had a lovely visit, probably spent about 2 hours there. I didn’t use their tram, I walked all the way around so I’m glad I wore comfortable shoes. Unfortunately I think I missed a lot of the spring blooms but it was still nice. I do wish someone had explained to me how to utilize the tram service if I wanted to. I still don’t know!

Me and my family just had an outing at Lawrence and gardens. It's nice that the library has a partnership with them so you can get in free with the library card print the ticket from the website on the library. They have beautiful flowers blooming right now. I love seeing all the different colored flowers and we took the tram which is nice it shows you a lot of the grounds we normally can't walk that far to see. It's nice they have a tram five bucks a person. It's also nice that they have benches everywhere inside and outside to sit on. They have a lot of beautiful blown glass pieces like glass flowers. We can avoid that another sculptures that are all through the gardens.

As an owner of a special nursery & garden center, I have a unique perspective on garden’s one might say. Lauitzen Gardens was enchanting to say the least. What a refreshing, serene setting they have created. A great visit for an individual, a date, the family, a corporate retreat and or a educational experience for a classroom of children. If you are a nature lover, you will LOVE THIS PLACE! A wonderful get away from the city, just minutes from downtown Omaha. The gift shop is cute and quaint with items that reflect whats taking place throughout the gardens. The conservatory is a must see with multiple climatic zones being offered. Start at the top floor with a cup of coffee and meander down though various flora and fauna which represents each climatic zone. Bring your camera as many photo ops exist. I only had a couple of hours to spend and feel I hadn’t even scratched the surface of all that’s available to see. Natives of Nebraska both in herbaceous perennials, woody shrubs and trees are brilliantly represented. Colorful displays of annuals are splashed about to keep one mesmerized. They offer a snack area inside and don’t worry plenty of benches are available if you get tired of walking. They have trams as well for those who prefer to ride vs walking. Have I sold you on this wonderful place yet? I hope so, its one of my new favorite places!!!

Beautiful conservatory and multiple, smaller themed gardens around the grounds (about 1.25 miles of walking to see everything). Some construction underway at the time of my visit (17 SEP 23), but it didn’t really detract from the overall effect. The smaller gardens are a mixed bag, with some exhibiting more design and production work than others, but all are attractive. The model railroad with multiple, running trains was really interesting. There’s an immense amount of outdoor space to grow into, and the construction projects are expanding the facilities to take advantage of some of it. All-in-all, it was a great way to spend a morning.

First time there, my fiancé and I had a blast. We decided to celebrate valentine's day early and figured we would go see the lego dino exhibit. We were not disappointed and the flora was lovely. I would definitely recommend visiting for the summer if you would like to see everything they have to offer, but if you just want to enjoy family-fun activities, definitely go and see the exhibits!

Superb botanical gardens, both inside and outside. The rose garden was sublime. In awe of all the colors fragrances and relatively disease-free shrubs. The Victorian garden was well Designed and cared For. We loved the architectural artifacts built into this garden. The prairie was bursting with seeds and flowers. There were Several species of Plants throughout that I had not viewed before. Garden shop full Of unique gifts. Cafe food average. Great parking. Use a map guidance system to find this gem in Omaha.

If you need a place to evaporate anxiety and get away from life, Lauritzen Gardens should be at the top of your list. From the relaxed tram rides to the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory, this place feels like a walking meditation. And just when you think the adventure is over, you walk into the parking lot and up a mysterious set of stairs to a fascinating display of locomotives. Kenefick Park provides an in-depth history of how the railroads shaped our country. Don't forget to get a photo between the 2 trains overlooking the highway and hills in the background.

Wow! What a great time if you love strolling through flowers and trees in a park like setting. We felt the best way to start was the tram ride. Usually, trams are lousy because of the sound systems in the various tram cars; but here the sound was very clear, automated, and educational. After the approximate 40-minute ride, we went into the terrarium it was very beautiful and relaxing. We made it to the top and decided to have a Latte at the coffee shop (the pricing was favorable), and the service was great! Once we left the terrarium, we wandered around the gardens; sat down next to a nice bubbling stream; took in the rose gardens; English gardens; watched the miniature trains; and just enjoyed our day!! I'd recommend!!

Love this place! Peaceful place to meander and find calm and beauty in the city! It’s so fun to see all the changing seasons there! Spring peonies are magical! Friendly employees, great for weddings!! My one suggestion would be time increments for the train to be able to pick up and drop off people for little or free (for elderly/people with disabilities) . We walk all over for exercise and have seen many struggling and thirsty to get back to the entrance.

Pretty good. Pond full of dead fish in the Japan area. Lots of new construction going on and exciting things on the horizon. The smell of the foliage was incredible. I was transported to every memory and place that mattered. Ultimately a neat spot, would recommend wasting a few hours here!

This place is amazing! The lobby area and multi-level greenhouse are a fun quick visit in the winter (Christmas display, model trains, LEGO exhibits, etc.), and the outdoor area is an adventure to explore during nicer weather. The outdoor area includes a running model train exhibit (multiple tracks and trains) and you can spend an afternoon wandering around the gardens. You can also visit the real train engines near the entrance, and the gardens have an annual European car show out on the grounds. Definitely check it out! It's worth your time.

Lovely space to walk around and enjoy nature. I learn something new every time I come. While certainly understandable, I was sad the interior spaces were closed at my last visit. Hopefully they'll be able to open next time!

I love it here! It's beautiful and well maintained. There is a lot to see. There is a trolley but if you want to walk, it is manageable. There are plenty of benches to rest, but not a lot of water stops. I would recommend a visit here if you love plants and flowers. We went in the summer but I am sure Spring and Fall have a different view to offer.

Wow, the gardens are so pretty and unique! My friends and I went at 10:30am as part of my bachelorette party. I definitely recommend taking the tram for a little extra money as there are tons of acres and a lot of walking. The nice part about the tram is it stops and allows for passengers to explore different areas. There is also a cute coffee shop with lots of area to sit and read or play games amongst the plants. The place seems to have a lot of future growth and lots of inclusive events for people of all ages. I highly recommend stopping here!

Brickasaurus displays were amazing, fun, only a few activities to do for kids tho. Under 4/ 5y old might be bored but decent for all ages if you got baby and toddler with an older kid. Then have statistics that you can read and how many Builders ,how many hours, how heavy the display is. I added only a few pictures on review there is more dino and "flying" dino, we were there about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Kids were 11 & 8y love legos. So it was very fun for them . I enjoyed the dinos and seeing flowers/ plants on display in conservatory. The detail is incredible . You can get a checklist when you pay to make sure you get to all the Dinos we had to go through like an elevator to get to a few of them and then come back through the conservatory.

Have been here twice this year. Most recently for the bright nights. It was beautiful advice is book early. An easy dozen spots for family pictures and a cute shmors stand $5 you can make 2 of them with it. They had a cafe (we didnt eat there) and a gentleman playing piano.) It would have been amazing if they had a hot coco stand haha. Staff had all been wonderful as well!!

I visited the gardens with a couple of friends last spring. There wasn't much to see outside because nothing was blooming but the inside garden are was very nice. It is decorated very nicely and the are benches tosit on to enjoy the peacefulness and the beauty of the flowers and foliage. We can't wait to visit again!

This was our first time here. The map was helpful but not very clear as where to start walking. As a result we walked along the road when, on the return trip, we discovered there was a sidewalk just few yards away from the road. It was a bit windy and cool. I will have to come back in the spring time but there is a lot to see and walk around. Great source of relaxing excerises. Will being my camera next time(those photos are off the mobile phone) in the Japan area there were two tripods that were empty but sitting around on a bank which bothered me as to why they would leave something so foreign there near the zen garden. Bathroom, outdoors, was clean and spacious as well as ADA complainant. Wish they had at least one more or maybe even 2 spaces out throughout. The exit out of the greenhouse to the parking lot was confusing and it almost looked like you had to backtrack through the greenhouse to get out. Could have had better exit signs. For now a 4 star rating but I see possibilities of this place becoming a 5.

We came during the day to see the Christmas poinsettia display and visit the plant conservatories. The extra delight was the food at the cafe which looks out on the poinsettia tree and decorations. We had delicious food at reasonable prices and enjoyed catching up while relaxing after our walk through the displays. This is a beautiful place and was my first trip to see it since I moved to Omaha during the pandemic. It will be a regular place to visit from now on.

  • 5/5 Lacey B. 1 year ago on Google
One of Omaha's hidden treasures for sure. If you love botanical gardens and plants, you need to check out Lauritzen Gardens. There are so many beautiful species of plants to enjoy. If you are a plant nerd, you will be in heaven looking for and identifying all the different rare plants you probably haven't seen in person but have always wanted to. They also have themed shows that elevate the ambiance. When I visited, it was during the Bright Lights show for the holidays. It was truly a beautiful display. You will enjoy every minute of your trip.

  • 5/5 Rachel I. 11 months ago on Google
Absolutely beautiful gardens. I love that they have eclectic sections along the path that have fun designs- it's not just sorted by different types of flowers, as many places are, but actual themes like the Victorian garden and Japanese-inspired path and things like that. The model train garden was a definite hit- so fun to watch the trains ride the large tracks around trees and flowers. The conservatory was also gorgeous- so calm and inviting. Kenefick park at the top of the hill was small but it was fun to see the giant trains-of-old. I will say they just planted flowers recently, so I bet in late summer the gardens will be full-to-bursting with beauty, so a good time to visit would actually be late July-August to see everything in full bloom.

Been there twice, the second visit felt like the first time. I was in love with the place. The ground is perfect for families. Vibrant colors of different flowers and greens fills the huge area. You can walk around under the shades of big trees, see different varieties of rose in the rose garden. The indoor garden showcase tropical plants whole year. The staffs are very friendly.

This place is great with walking paths as well as shuttles in case you didn’t want to walk around. There are so many beautiful areas within the gardens that are very serene. There are plenty of seating throughout the area so if you get exhausted, you can take a few breaks around. I say it’s worth visiting again especially when you want to just take a peaceful walk.

  • 5/5 Sarah K. 11 months ago on Google
The place was beautiful! It was so big we didn't get to see everything. Make sure if you're going when the weather is hot, that you take plenty of water with you and wear sunscreen. Didn't take many pictures as I just wanted to enjoy the moment

Every visit to Lauritzen Gardens shows you something new. The flowers change, and then you see something you didn't notice last time. Beautiful sculptures throughout the gardens add a touch of man-made art to all the natural beauty. Take your time and let the quiet help relax you.

This place was beautiful. We went in Aug, so we missed out on the May spring flowers, but we’re going to go back. We took the tram tour. It was great, it was a guided tour (pre-recorded) but very informative. I do recommend going on it so you get to pass by and learn about all of the attractions. It’s family friendly, or good as a date. It’s a must see for sure.

  • 5/5 Dani D. 8 months ago on Google
These gardens are great. They have a big parking lot that is free. The bathrooms are clean in the entrance area, and there are porta potties and other toilets out along the paths. There is a trolley that you can get tickets for that'll take you to the main areas, and it has 2 places it stops to let you look around. The train model garden was especially cool. There's a lot of great areas, and I highly recommend walking the whole area if you can.

  • 5/5 Shane B. 8 months ago on Google
Gorgeous. The gardens are curated so even late in the season it's not barren. Lots of flowers and milkweed so lots of bees and butterflies buzzing around. Well worth a visit 😊

28 Sept 2023. I've been to many gardens before and this has some extra features very noteworthy! My favorite was the MODEL TRAIN feature. Multiple trains in the woods built similar replica of Omaha's rail system? Could watch this for hours alone. The ROSE garden section had stunning display of colors and fragrances. Variety of sculptures all around with your choice of taking the tram around, stopping to get out to enjoy OR can walk the whole thing. TOO many cubby holes to choose from to take a picnic lunch and a book! MEDITATION and SERENITY heaven. Do yourself a favor and buy the yearly pass! You'll use it. Was free for us as we knew someone on the inside and left passes for us! THANKS so much!

Very cool, the trains by the Omaha Welcome Sign were very cool and worth the walk. Even though there were signs on the paths that said it was closed, they let us hike up there to see them. Would have liked to have explored the Gardens but the interior ones were closed because they were cleaning up after an event and it was way too cold to explore the outside ones. I'll visit again someday

  • 5/5 Caraleena 3 years ago on Google
It's was very pretty. There isn't a ton to see so don't expect to be in there long, but it's still worth the visit. They also seem to be doing some renovations so I expect there to be even more pretty plants soon!

What an amazing place! Beautiful flowers and plants, the most amazing railroad garden with actual model railroad tracks built from natural substances, and a fabulous children's area. The tropical garden was incredible and made me feel as if I could just relax there all day! So many different garden areas lend an air of delightful change throughout the grounds. This is a definite MUST on the list of places to visit in Omaha!!! The grandsons loved playing all through the areas and were completely enthralled with the fountains and creek areas. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place to spend a few hours.I love this place and would love to give it a 5 but they need to work on their customer service. We took off our masks long enough to take a picture in front of the poinsettias and one of the staff members who was way across the room called us down like little children to say that we have to have our masks on! Give me a break! Nobody was within 20 feet of us! Also when we were checking in they made me go back out to the car to get my ID. We have a joint membership and my girlfriend had her ID. It was pretty obvious that we were together. This is overkill!!

  • 5/5 Kathy K. 3 years ago on Google
It's simply beautiful!! A short walk through the atrium...statues, flowers, trees, then the outdoor fire pits, to the poinsettia garden, where they sell small poinsettias for 5 dollars but. There is a large stem...its not like a full flowered poinsetta..better off buying one from HYVEE where I got a beautiful one for shop was ok..lots of hand lotion.i bought 5 postcards of the giant poinsettia tree..huge Christmas tree decorated with nothing but poinsettas... lovely short walk, but steep stairs going down to the main floor. No elevators...worth the 10.00 PM admission fee. They have a little cafe with standing up ordering then you take it to your seat. Seating is a big far apart but not that much...all in all very enjoyable!! Worth seeing!!
