Return visit: Food remains consistent. We ordered the vegetarian thali. I would recommend that due to the variety. The seafood combo Madras was good but not my favorite. I think they used polluck as part of the seafood. There was a decent amount of scallops. The soup is very good, with a bit of spice. The salad dressing is made in house, it is a mustard vinaigrette with a bit of bite. ______ Initial visit: Nice atmosphere. Good service. The only negative was the prices are high (In comparison to other Indian restaurants I've been to). If you are looking for quality Indian food in a comfortable clean atmosphere, you have come to the right place. Everything we ate was great. We ordered the Thali platter (non vegetarian), tandoori chicken, and the Malai Kofta. Drinks included Iced tea, chai tea, and strawberry mango lassi. I did wonder about one thing. On the menu it said pot of tea, but my friend only got a cup of tea. I am not sure if refills are free or not? We didn't ask at the time.

First experience with Indian food in a very long time and it was greatly enjoyed. I ordered the chicken tikka mahkani which came in a large serving and was very flavorful. We enjoyed our pakoras appetizers as well. I also recommend a mango lassi as a nice compliment with the meal.

Very good take on Indian food, the only thing that would make it better is if they stopped using only white meat and used the traditional dark meat cuts that one would find in Indian food. Over all this is a great place to enjoy some flavorful and spicy Eastern cuisine.

Service was good but the Indian food is not the best. Unfortunately, the meat was very dry, not much sauce but the spices are there. Will not come back. Just find out that its the same owner as the Oven in Lincoln NE.

An excellent restaurant! Food is very good, service is attentive and friendly without hovering, and the atmosphere works for most situations (from dates to business). Loses a star for variability of food quality -- some days the food is excellent and is some of the best Indian cuisine I've had; other days the food is good, but not excellent (on the off days the food is still well worth going for, however). Rarely a long wait, though frequently about half full. Music is not loud and overpowering like at many Omaha restaurants. Overall the best Indian I've found in Omaha.

The Oven is a very friendly place. My wife and I go there and always get top-notch customer service. So to begin with, it is always best for you to call ahead and make reservations. This is a very small restaurant with limited seating, and on prime traffic nights this place can stay full with lines waiting. Next, the wait staff are very friendly and even remember us just by faces. They go out of their way to take care of people and are very genuine with the way they treat others. This is a not a common trait in many restaurants so I find this a remarkable behavior. Finally, the food is cooked fresh so the main meals sometimes take a while to arrive, but it is well worth the wait. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

The waiter was very nice, very nice looking shop. Had a full bar, able to order a drink I made up, and he was very patient when taking orders but still on top of everything. The food was very very good. Beautiful colors and everything was tasty. We left very full with left overs to look forward too. Lamb was soft and delicious, the chicken may of been a little dry. Sauces were perfect though, and rice was good as well. Definitely will return.

A great place to eat. I will tell you in 5 steps what made this a great experience. 1. The staff were nice enough to help us with the menu, and tell us what is in each dish. (they were really descriptive). With the help of the waiter, I got something that I really loved. (Vindaloo was amazing) 2. The waiter refreshed drinks, and took plates, sometimes without me knowing (ninja work there) 3. The taste was worth the price, and the seating was pretty good. 4. The atmosphere was perfect for the food. there wasn't loud music, or even anything loud. This made it so no one had to speak up over anything, which made everyone speak at a normal volume. 5. So far the best in the Old Market to me. I will keep everyone posted if there is better.

First time trying indian cuisine. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was relaxing and upscale perfect for a date night or a family dinner. I forgot pictures but the samosas and lassis are also fantastic!

Another Indian restaurant in town. Simple one page menu. Less options for vegetarians. Ambience is ok. We ordered samosa appetizers, they make it in house. It was good, so had my hopes high for the main course. But was a little disappointed. I ordered lamb madras, I am not sure about the exact preparation but it had way too much mustard seeds in it and were coming in my every bite. My friend ordered mutter paneer which was basically a tomato puree. The roti was nice. A decent place to try the Indian cuisine for once but not a go to place for me for sure.
