C-19 Booster processing is EXCEPTIONAL! It does require an appointment, but my appointment process remained simple. Their Saturday vacation clinic was poised to process hundreds of their clients. Currently (Oct 9), no influenza vaccine available. I'm confident this VA Medical Center Team will handle the influenza vaccine flawlessly as well. THANKS AGAIN to the entire Team!! Superior vaccination service!! This Team is pulling extra hours to administer Pfizer vaccine to their eligible & available patients. They called me to inform me they're ready & my appointment wasn't needed - FEDERAL AGENCY working efficiently & effectively on this Federal Holiday, Presidents' Day! From entry, follow their little blue flags - plenty of staff & volunteers to make things speed along!

God forbid VA take care of vets.

Went to the clinic for a lower back injury. The immediate care clinic was closed due to a lack of provider (which seems to be a reoccurring theme here at this place). I was directed to go to the ER. Went to the ER was evaluated and diagnosed with a muscle Strain. No pictures were taken, no x rays. 1 month later I wasn’t feeling any different so I went to Nebraska Ortho. They took 4 pictures and assessed me and diagnosed it as a skeletal issue as opposed to muscular. Recommend physical therapy. The provider said if I didn’t get the proper care sooner that I would be in worse shape. Take the time to care for your patients.

Went to the pharmacy to get my meds for TBI and PTSD. The lady informed me that they're low on stock and they'll get me enough to last through my vacation. I waited for over an hour and watched countless veterans that arrived after me get their meds. I walked up to the window and asked what was going on just to be told they're out of my meds. There was no help or any knowledge of when they'll get more. The VA claims they help veterans and act like veteran suicide is a big deal but can't keep their meds in stock and can't even have the respect to tell me they're out. God knows how long I would've waited. I've always have had issues with this VA.

I took a chance that the VA hospital had greatly improved from my previous experience with them over 15 years. I was pleasantly surprised. I collected my medical records from the hospitals I have been going to and went to the hospital expecting the same atrocious care I had previously experienced. I was actually treated like the doctors cared. They actually looked at the records I gave them and asked what I wanted to happen. When I told them I wanted fixed they didn't brush me off this time. The doctors were actually helpful, polite, and acted like they cared. It seems like a lot has changed in the last few years at the VA hospital.

Been here many times over the years. It’s a good facility with great people working hard for veterans. It’s has been upgraded which helps with additional space and support.

We received a package from you and the person it’s address to does not live here. I called to let you guys know and all I received was two people who were incredibly rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I feel so incredibly sorry for the person this package is for because now they aren’t going to get it because your employees didn’t care.

I have not asked a VA hospital for help in 30 years. But in the last 2 years this is the 2nd VA Hospital I went for help. Everyone was friendly, smiling, welcoming & professional . Drive in pain an hour & a half one way, several times. Updating from over 2 months ago first posted. My pain has progressed to daily and extremely severe. Once again was not prescribed pain medicine. I was prescribed something "that has worked for others", medicine for anxiety, nerve pain, not actual pain killers, nothing since to help. Can't get call backs, I am always respectful & polite-obviously that is stupid. Now yes I am experiencing depression, you can only scream-literally-day & night in pain before you lose hope.

Not the best experience with the Neurologist we saw in February 2023 @ Omaha VA. My husband still in a lot of pain due to one of the ‘tests‘ she did on him… with no warning jerked his head/face/neck side to side w out first telling him & not asking him if he had any neck problems. (He does) Very curt, not respectful of his hearing loss. Not much compassion in general. Bummer appt.

20 years now I've relied on the VA for all medical needs being a 70% disabled vet. For the bad rap and press the VA health system gets as a whole lately, in 20 years, the Omaha/Western Iowa VA has never done me wrong. If not for them, I would most likely be one of those without health insurance. It's a government beuracracy, but the health care providers from the top surgeons, to the orderlies, in my experience have always been top notch.

The VA just found my prostate cancer AFTER it had metastasized. Difficult or impossible to talk to anyone there. They are understaffed and very busy. The VA has saved my life twice so I guess I owe them one.

If you don't have to go here, get treated literally anywhere else. Nightmare of inexperienced providers, no continuity of care whatsoever, and pill flinging, if you can even get them to call you back. Serving those who serve, indeed. The whole country should be embarrassed.

Have been using the Omaha VA Medical Center since the 1990's and oh boy has this location come a long way! Today, ever department is run by competent Dr's and Nurse practitioners. Special shout out to the Dental department and my current GP. My true only complaint is the parking for the disabled. Some visits we have to park across the street at the Douglas County Hospital but I know they are working on it (wink, wink).

Most of the staff, though not all, are great. I've been going here for more than 30 years. Recently I've been having trouble making an appointment. They use robots to run the phone system and I just end up in a loop and can't make an appointment. I wish they would do something to fix this. I'm afraid I'll have to go to the ER just to get a checkup and renewals on my meds.

The driver who took my step dad to Lincoln was rude to his him. Telling a man "come on, I have to go" to someone who can't even walk is uncalled for. Sounds like the VA needs better, more empathetic drivers.

30 plus years of VA Medical Center healthcare. This is one of the better VA facilities that I've used throughout my life.

They dont even deserve 1 star. I was fired for catching covid, even though im a veteran and was (still is) at risk for homelessness due to everything covid caused since I had just gotten out not too long beforehand. This place is a disgrace.

In my one year since returning to Nebraska from Texas, the experience with the Omaha VA Medical Center has been 100 percent negative at every turn. The state of Nebraska ought to be embarrassed by the lack of quality care available which is a rat race to receive because of group incompetence from the very top level all the way throughout. If you are having a mental health issue, have it documented in your records that you have an issue, and it takes you five weeks to get an appointment when you are having an episode, what are we doing? It blows my mind how much better Texas is for veterans. I am FROM Nebraska and was an outsider in Texas. I feel disrespected every time I try to do something in this facility. AVOID. Drive to Lincoln.

I LOVE this place! My dad, Jason Todd Randall, has made so many memories over his course of time at the VA. I'm considering leaving my current hospital of choice, and transferring all blood work and future procedures to Todd and the VA Medical Center.

I checked myself in for thoughts I shouldn’t have been thinking about myself. All they did was put me in a regular patient room and have a nurse sit outside my door for 2 days with door open. Caused me to not sleep cause of noises from other rooms machines beeping, or hallway traffic or nurses chatting loud in hallway and bright light coming in. One psychiatrist talked to me for 10 minutes and couldn’t even look at me. Plus was fresh out of college. The whole experience made me want to go home to my bed but then when I tried to leave the VA cops were called to use force on me, whom is disabled and barely can walk, no reason they needed to man handle me the way they did.
