This
store
is
not
a
kind
or
welcoming
place.
Everybody
knows
it's
expensive,
but
now
I
know
its
not
worth
the
premium
expense.
I
had
a
package
to
return
to
Amazon,
so
I
thought
I
would
drop
off
the
return
and
then
do
some
shopping.
The
Amazon
customer
service
said
we
could
drop
it
off
at
a
Whole
Foods
store.
I
waited
several
minutes
at
the
customer
service
desk.
A
worker's
handheld
device
was
on
and
resting
in
the
center
of
the
counter,
so
I
thought
perhaps
they
had
stepped
away
for
a
minute.
On
the
opposite
side
of
the
check
out
area
two
workers
were
joking
around,
but
I
wasn't
in
a
rush
and
decided
to
wait.
Eventually
one
of
the
workers
turned
around
took
a
couple
steps
towards
me,
but
once
he
saw
I
was
holding
a
box,
he
just
yelled
across
the
room,
"Amazon's
not
open
until
9."
He
promptly
turned
around
and
returned
to
the
other
worker
at
the
one
open
check
out
lane.
There
was
no
eye
contact
made.
No
question
if
I
needed
help,
and
no
opportunity
for
me
to
respond.
I
had
no
idea
the
Amazon
counter
hours
were
different
from
the
store
hours.
I
didn't
expect
him
to
magically
make
the
Amazon
returns
employee
appear,
but
some
basic
politeness
would
have
made
the
store
more
welcoming.
I
decided
I
would
prefer
to
get
my
groceries
somewhere
else.
Since
I
had
half
an
hour
or
so
to
kill,
but
did
not
feel
comfortable
waiting
in
this
store,
I
ran
to
Lowe's.
There
I
received
an
immediate
greeting
upon
stepping
into
the
store,
a
worker
offered
help
finding
an
item
within
a
minute,
and
the
person
at
check
out
thanked
me
for
coming
in
as
I
left.
I
returned
to
Whole
Foods
after
9
and
made
the
return
with
the
Amazon
worker
who
completed
the
necessary
steps
with
the
few
required
but
mumbled
statements.
Hopefully
we
can
avoid
needing
any
Amazon
returns
for
a
while,
and
I
will
be
sure
to
enjoy
friendlier
shopping
elsewhere.
