One of the 12 Jyotirlinga in India. This is ill managed and really needs attention in terms of cleanliness and management of crowd. After visiting Mahakaleshwar, I was really disappointed with the state of this temple and the negligence from management. Firstly, this place is difficult to visit until you have chartered a taxi for a day which will set you back by approximately 3000Rs. The place required cleaning especially the stairs and ramp that you will need to visit the temple chambers. This place does need a lot of attention based on the number of people visiting this place. You will find a lot of pandaas/pujaris asking if you want to pay and cut through the crowd. The special service they offer will set you back anywhere between 200-500 Rs. Beware of them!! Unlike Mahakaleshwar there is no official website to book these services and this could put you in a problematic situations. The temple in itself is beautiful and old. Definitely crowded when I visited in last few days of August. There is hardly any service that you can book online from temple management if you are traveling with family or people with special needs.

The history will too many stories and legends about Omkareshwar, recite yourself . I wish to tell mine. Beautiful extravagant and stunning place almost in the middle of a remote place. Better to go by bus or car from Indore, a next stop after ujjain mahakaleshwar jyothiling . Narmada Devi beautifies even further. Get blessed

The spiritual significance of the place was evident through the rituals and prayers conducted by the devout attendees. The soothing chants and hymns resonated through the air, creating a tranquil and meditative atmosphere. The place's historical and cultural importance was also apparent, with informative displays and artifacts.

One of the twelve jyotirlinga of lord Shiva situated on the bank of river Narmada located in a beautiful island made by river Narmada connected with a ropeway bridge you can have a boat riding through river Narmada and take a bath with pure flowing river water. Rooms are a bit costlier compared with the other tourist places and food is good out here. If you want to complete darshan within less time don't visit during public holidays. Tourism is still in the budding stage not many facilities available for tourists like cheaper rooms and basic facilities like toilets roads. Sometimes it would take more than 5 hours to reach 77km from indore due to heavy traffic in the ghats section. It's nearer to khandwa junction i.e approx 70 km away from khandwa junction and also from indore too. In Ujjain there are many facilities for tourists compared to omkareshwar but omkareshwar is situated in a lust greener environment and is stupendous to the eyes for its visuals. Mamaleshwar is situated nearby omkareshwar and has its own print in the history i.e omkareshwar is devoid of omkareshwar and mamaleshwar. The very limitation of omkareshwar in mandhata is that it's a remote location that's the reason why it's still in budding stage though very pleased to visit.!!

So basically Omkareshwar temple is a worst place to visit and here's the reason:- 1) Mismanagement by pandits and police due to vip entry. 2) Normal queue have a lot waiting time due to so much hustle bustle of vip tickets and pandits don't care if you don't have vip ticket lmao . Normal queue waiting time in offseason (5-6 hours) Vio entry(3-4hours) lmao πŸ˜‚ 3) I haven seen a lady is literally cried in the queue because of suffocation but no one helped her later she came out of queue and decided to give up the darshan πŸ™ 4)I myself witnessed a lady about to fall on stairs but suprisingly I got her in the middle it's basically my luck i felt good after saving someone 5) I myself gave up the in middle of the queue because my parents said it's been suffocation for too long 6) I don't care if this reaches to any government official who can do something about it but if you see this and actually want to change to current scenarios please do so πŸ™Œ 7) I wanted to see the jyotirlinga of lord Shiva but these corrupt management and all the stuff made me decide something that I will never gonna come again πŸ™ Somnath was so better than this.. if you are planning to go omkareshwar please make a U-turn and visit somnath mandir πŸ™Œ Har har Mahadev πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»πŸ”₯

The Great Historical place where you can pray before divine jyotirling, enjoy the ancient architecture with today's made Aadi Shankaracharyaa Statue on top of the mountain. You can also enjoy ancient ghats through boating. In one word - DIVINEπŸ™

The Omkareshwar Temple, located on the Om-shaped Mandhata Island in the Narmada River, is a significant Hindu pilgrimage destination housing one of Lord Shiva's 12 Jyotirlingas. Its distinctive location and remarkable architecture attract visitors, providing a serene atmosphere for worship and meditation. The temple hosts festivals like Maha Shivaratri, drawing devotees in large numbers. Enjoy picturesque boat rides on the peaceful Narmada River, offering a stunning view of the temple and enhancing the spiritual experience. The cost for a boat ride for the entire boat is approximately 250 rupees. For individual passengers, it costs around 50 rupees one way. The temple's pandit may approach you for direct or VIP darshan, the cost will totally depend on your bargaining skills. 😁 Additionally, during the boat tour, you can view the recently inaugurated statue "Ekatmata Ki Pratima," a 54-foot-tall statue of Shri Aadi Shankaracharya. πŸŒŸπŸ’“

This place gives you real pleasure of devotion in the early morning sunrise is looks very awesome and beautiful 😍. There is more resort, hotel and dharamshala also. The Omkareshwar is one on the best Jyotirlinga Mandir I visited. I'm highly recommended to take darshan in very early morning 5am. There is Hanging bridge which very long and very heighted.
