Located in an unassuming industrial district, this joint serves up some fun and authentic Latin food. Although not our usual fare, we really enjoyed the Sifrina and Pabellon arepas, which tasted fresh and flavourful, and were wonderfully crispy! While the portion size may at first glance seem small, it’s actually quite on point and we were well satisfied after eating. The staff are very friendly and evidently take cleanliness seriously. We were delighted to see all staff masked and disinfecting the payment terminal after each use, despite the end of the mask mandate this past week. From a value perspective, the arepas were a bit pricy at $14 each, but if you’re in the area it’s definitely worth a visit!

We went during a very slow day during the holidays. The Arepa with Reina pepiada was not good, served straight out of the refrigerator made days before, was not cool. A small meal at an exhorbitant price. Arepas are street food in Venezuela while we got charged full meal prices for something pretty mediocre. The basket of tequenos included five tequenos which came with nothing else again at much more than should be charged. Four would have been enough at a cheaper price. I don't understand the mentality of food services all charging the same high prices when you don't compete with much better places who have fair prices for what they offer. Maybe the Arepa Republic is better as curiosity food truck item.

I first discovered this place when their food truck visited Evergreen Brickworks (one of my favorite places ) . I instantly fell in love with their cuisine !! When I found out they had a store front I was so excited and decided to try it out. I loved the veggie Pabellon this is my new favourite ! Only thing is....next time i would aak for either NO BEANS or LESS beans 😬 they take up alot of space & are a bit overpowering I would rather more cheese. The service was excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentive ! Go check them out !

Amazing Venezuelan food. We got a Reina and a Peluda arepa. They fill the arepas so much that you need a fork to eat it. Yum! Staff was very nice. Even when my husband didn't know how to pronounce the arepa he was getting. The place is very small, you will not be able to sit inside. However, they have a few picnic tables outside. We had a lovely date eating in our car. This is more of a place to get a quick bite and keep going. I definitely will recommend this place. It is worth the drive

The Arepas and Tequeños tasted good. The only gripe I have is the value vs size does not reflect well. I think the Arepas and Tequeños should be able to be put into a combo. The two together alone is over $30 which is too much for what it is in a industrial area.

A small spot for arepas and other South American food. Firstly, the servers were extremely friendly and explained to me very clearly the items that I would enjoy since I have dietary restrictions. So kudos the servers. However the Rumbera arepa I had did not meet my expectations. I was told it was pulled pork but I did not find it to be pulled pork as you can see in the image. The cheese that was added was still cold and felt like it was store bought. It would have been better if they grilled the arepa for some time so that the cheese would melt. I am glad the server packed some chilli oil because that did help with the flavour. Finally, the arepa you see in the image attached was >$18 (after tax) which I think is a bit overpriced. Fantastic staff and service but the food and pricing should be looked at in a little more detail.

Tried for the first time with my children and loved it! We ordered carne mechada, double doble cheese, and española arepas. Also tried the tequeños and fried bananas. The service was great and staff follows safe food practices.

As a Venezuelan I can say this is Authentic and delicious Venezuelan food. I requested catering for an event and let me start by saying that there was great communication from the start. Luis, the owner, help me figure out the amount of food for the persons we were expecting. The day of the event the food arrive on time, warm and it was very well presented. I really recommend this restaurant for catering and delivery. Tequenos are delicious! Of course the reina Pepiada is a must have!

No doubt about it - we struck the jackpot with this place. @theareparepublic floored us all with its Venezuelan cuisine of in-house made gluten-free arepas, each formidably agape with our chosen fillings. And what magnificent fillings they were. The “Rumbera” ($12) which practically overflowed with Venezuelan pulled pork, topped Cheryl’s and my list but only just. Close on its heels was the “Reina Pepiada” ($12), a green, creamy and cool mound of meticulously mixed avo and finely shredded chicken. The others had their fans too with my brother rooting for the very substantial “Pabellón Veggie” ($12) and T.H., the flank steak-starred “Pabellón” ($13). Naturally mealy and soft, the #Arepa would have given way under all that weight if not for the fact that it was grilled. The heat shored it up with a glazed surface, not unlike a laminated finish. We were given a few squirt bottles of sauces plus a tall glass one of oil filled with herbs and spices to season our Arepas. From amongst those, we came to the consensus that the spicy mayo was the best. But to each his own, so you ought to give them all a try yourself. #veronicaphuaeatstoronto #veronicaphuaeats

Initially it seemed a bit pricey but the Arepas are stuffed and ends up being pretty filling. I wasn't a fan of the sweet dough used for the empanadas but overall the Arepas were decent.

Visited the Arepa food truck at the Woodbine Park Jazz festival on the weekend. Plenty of tasty Venezuelan options. I opted for gluten and dairy-free and got a huge carne mechada. They could not stuff more shredded steak into that corn arepa.

Unfortunately not really worth it, in my opinion. We got the arepa combo which is $21 plus tax. The arepas were pretty tasty but not very filling. It definitely didn’t make up for the “salad”, which is just wilted spring mix with some dressing. Overall a pretty disappointing experience.

I needed to come over here to give my review to this magnifique restaurant. I ordered from Arepa Republic to have delivered to my workplace a relatively high volume of Tostones (32). They did it with an impeccable punctuality, once I saw the product I could observe the high quality in which they finish it, from packaging to the presentation of the meal was remarkably good. The taste was outstanding. Can't wait to visit and try out their other items on the menu!

The service is very good. Everyone is very friendly. However, the quality and quantity of the food has changed, and the prices are very expensive. I think $18 for an arepa is too much, plus the arepas are smaller than before. I went with my son to eat yesterday. We ordered two arepas and two portions of tequeños and paid almost $90 including drinks. Definitely very expensive.

Amazing arepas, amazing service. The person at the front was amazing and patient. Before I went inside I was waiting on my friend outside and she engaged in conversation with me even teaching me how to pronounce the menu item properly!! from that moment I said YES! This is about to be a 5 star experience, the food did not disappoint! I will be back for sure. I got the Pabellon Veggie Arepa, Tostones, chicken and beef empanadas :)

I got the pabellon arepa. After waiting 10min, the beef was tasty, but cold. Overall the meal was good but incredibly overpriced for the size. I could justify paying $6 but not $16.

Tried the pabellon arepa and the beef epinada at the Woodbine Food Truck Festival. Not sure if this reflects how they normally serve their food in house but: 1) the pabellon was a bigger portion than you think it is however the flavours seemed to be a little too mild. 2) the epinada was deep fried and was super oily. It was all dough and very little beef. I was pretty much eating dough and dry (possible overcooked) ground beef. 3) both of those for a total of $23 and the wait for the food was quite long. 20 mins for food truck food is too long, in my opinion. I would definitely not return to an Arepa Republic food truck.

The food is fantastic. Arepas amazing. Cachapas amazing. Patacón amazing. The negative aspects: the restaurant is not a restaurant anymore, it’s just the kitchen so you have to grab the food to go. There are some benches outside if weather is good you can eat there. Also we asked not to have the sauces on top of the patacón and cachapas and they put it anyways.

Delicious!!! I ordered a vegetarian arepa and had a side of yuca fries. Then I purchased chicken empanadas and their cheese sticks which cooked really well in my air fryer. Everything was delicious!! Wish I lived closer to come more often! The staff were also very friendly.

Oh my the food it amazing! I did take out one week and this week in the restaurant. So friendly. I even bought some frozen food. I ate the food too fast so I didn’t take a picture. But here are the frozen meals.
