A beautiful, lovely town square with historic buildings and Flemish architecture all around. I could not stop admiring the buildings when I was standing there at the center. The place is surrounded with numerous restaurants and is swarmed with tourists, so it has a vibrant atmosphere. Sitting in one of the restaurants with their local crafted bier is a high recommendation from our side.

Nice market square to have a walk around and grab some food. Christmas market is not very big but a nice atmosphere nonetheless. Belgian people are lovely and will definitely be returning 😁

Make sure you visit this market Wednesday morning till 1 p.m. we bought some cooked food to eat. The roast chicken was tender and juicy. The fine beans were good too.

A lovely, quaint town/ market square filled with different restaurants and surrounded by historical buildings and medieval architecture - what more do you need? There are also city-wide horse carriage rides that depart from here and of course, instant access to the Belfry and other landmarks in Brugge.

Beautiful little town square with plenty to see! A broad range of restaurants to choose from, though they are expensive due to being a main tourist area, would definitely walk down some of the streets and try your luck there. Horse rides leave from the square for 60 Euro per carriage.

Christmas market is so festive really gets you in the mood. Wasn't as big as described but the whole ambience of Bruges is enough to make this a great experience.

This vibrant square is where you will end up as u walk through the beautiful streets of Brugge. They are lined up with a carnival atmosphere, but I must say that restaurants here are quite overpriced.

Amazing square which marks the centre of Bruges! It is very spacious and surrounded by beautiful buildings from all sides. You can also see carriages with horses. The feel of this place is truly amazing!

I loved Bruges very much amazing beautiful place so much to see full of historical buildings and bar's restaurants will definitely go back. Took a boat tour with a fantastic guide speaking different languages and most enjoyable for the cost €24 for 2 people. These pictures were taken by the evening. ❤️❤️

Beautiful central square in Bruges. There's so many gorgeous buildings lining this square, it's so beautiful. The restaurants surrounding the square are of course a little more expensive, but it's not too bad compared to places a little further out.

Lovely atmosphere and easy to find. Free to get in to both markets so great value - and no annoying funfair/carnival attractions unlike certain UK winter attractions....... Very clean. Friendly people everywhere. Some nice Christmas stalls and lovely food & drink. Smaller than I expected though. Also visited the other market at Simon Stevenplein which was smaller but had more in the way of craft-type stalls. Also took in the Wintergloed art & light display in the evening which was lovely. Overall, a great way to get in the Christmas Spirit!

Visited after days christmas there was still a lively Christmas market with lots of crowd. Tourist information office is right next door in historium brugge. This city square is a typical starting point for all walking tours and you can start your own walking tour with the official app on the phone. Can get quite busy with all the horses and crowds so come early for good photos.

Lots of Bruges atmosphere. Beautiful place and a must see. A Belgium gem. I recommend avoiding the food and drink in the the Grote Market however. The prices are very inflated. Choose a smaller square or backstreet.

A magnificent old square in the heart of Bruges. Architecturally stunning. You can sit in one of the marvellous cafés, bars, or restaurants and let time pass you by. Even better when the sun is shining.

A unique colorful square in the middle of Bruges, full of history and beautiful architecture. You literally don't know where you will look first, how beautiful it is.

Great market square with beautiful buildings all around. Horse riding and city tours start here. Quite a crowded place all the times. Must visit place if you are in Bruges. Loved this city.

Bustling old market square of Brugge. Commercial centre of medieval Europe. Some buildings can be traced to XIII century.

A beautiful picturesque old square with fantastic architecture. The only downside are the extortionate prices for food and drink which is typical for a tourist trap. €14 for a plate of French fries and €10 for a small blonde beer. The buildings almost make it worth it 😁

Home of the Wednesday market: great for fruit, dairy produce, flowers, cakes, fish and meat. Lovely location weekday evenings to eat chips and watch the people. Avoid like the plague the rest of the time as it's full of tourists.

Beautiful place to visit in Bruges. We are at some of the restaurants on the square and had a great time. Really pretty at night!

A typical western European Central city Square of renaissance time, yet not so typical regarding the exquisitely fantastic architecture of its buildings!...-:) Only thing is that unfortunately, all places are closing down latest by 23:30, so no chance to enjoy it sipping a chilled Chardonnay on a long summer night....-:( ....so sad and stupid of those who own these places, considering that Bruges is perhaps, the most touristic Belgian town!!!....

If you've not been to Brugge, then get yourself here asap. The locals were very friendly and there's a great selection of places to eat and drink. The history here is fantastic with good tours available

What a spectacular place is Brugge. Impressive! I could walk and wander around for a full day without getting bored. This square, Grote Markt, is so beautiful. With this magnificent tower Belfry of Bruges. I went for a short day visit with family but I do suggest to spend more time in this huge historical center and be alone or with other who also appreciate it
