The kitchen made us a special off-menu dish of fresh sautéed zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and red bell peppers with what must have been homemade penne. We ordered house salads that ended up being beautiful large plates of greens, corn, onions, and tomatoes with crunchy sea salt and oil and balsamic. It was simple yet spectacular and reminded me of the gastronomy of my years living in Spain. The owner and his comrades are a delightful and hospitable bunch and they gab with the neighborhood patrons like old friends. Fast perfect service and we returned for coffees later.
