Exceptional food and service! Afgani chicken was amazing :) Chicken chilli was awesome! Portion sizes were generous to feed the family 😀. Compliments to the chef and team :)

This is my very first review for any restaurant only because I have never had such an amazing Desi “Home cooked food” in Australia. The food was “Fresh made” which is hard to get!!! In most of the restaurants the roe made meals are warmed up and presented! The warm and friendly staff was cherry on top! If someone is visiting orange or based on orange must try it!! Honestly 100% recommended!!

The stand out dishes for me were the Bhindi Masala and Dal Makhani. The bhindi masala was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the dal makhani was rich and creamy with just the right amount of spice. Both dishes were clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, with tasteful decor that added to the overall experience. The staff was knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations on what to order. All in all, The Upper House is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious, authentic Indian cuisine. I highly recommend it, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Absolutely delicious. The butter chicken had lots of flavour, a bit of sweetness and the tandoor flavour of the chicken was devine. Nice and tender as well. Very generous portion, samosas were tasty and big as well. The olive and cheese naan is a winner too. The best indian in Orange!

This place doesn't deserve a 5 star review. I'm only giving them a 5 start review because I cannot give higher!! This is the best Indian food I've had since I was in India 13years ago. The staff member with us was incredibly friendly and helpful. We paid less than we would usually spend on a dinner for two. This is the best night out we have had in a very long time. We will be back next time we are in Orange!

Came in for an early dinner on Thursday night, ordered 2 meat entrees, 2 meat curries with rice and naan to go along with. The waitress was polite and knowledgeable about the menu, the service was quite quick and the food came out steaming hot which was excellent. The flavour and quality of the dishes was superb, we ordered medium heat and it was well balanced, spicy without being unpleasant. The portions were very generous and we took home enough for a solid lunch for one with the remains. The pricing was very reasonable and good value for the food and service Overall a great experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality meal at a good price

I was surprised to see later in my Bill that I was charged $1 for Dine-in for each of the Main course dishes. Couldn’t understand as the Menu didn’t show these additional prices and when I am visiting a restaurant, I am going to of course Dine-in, so what’s that charge for. I reckon the Menu given to me was for Dine-in. Amount is minuscule but can’t get the concept of charging $1 for “Dine-in”!

An Easter roadtrip lead us to Orange and a food decision. We wandered the main street and walked into the Upper House Indian .. the smell alone said this is where we were eating. It look very simple but it was clean and the service was wonderful with some expert guidance across the menu. We chose dishes we had not had before which included ; Shabby Samosa's Afgahni Chicken Murgh Malai boti (chicken) Eggplant and potato - OMG this is ridiculous for something so simple and The Chefs mothers recipe Phadi bhed (Goat) We've eaten Indian food all around the world and cannot recommend this place highly enough. Get into this place if you are travelling through Orange .. or even if you live there.

Delicious authentic Indian food. We were visiting Orange and took a walk into town to check out the food options …. We couldn’t go past the delicious aromas coming out of The Upper House. We ordered the Deal 2: more than enough food for the two of us. The vegetable samosas were to die for!! The flavours!! Incredible. Beautiful tandoori chicken. We exchanged the soft drinks for an upgrade to the Kashmiri rice….. good decision. Delicious! We chose the lamb madras as our curry. Incredible flavours, and melt in the mouth lamb. Amazing meal. Plus the best garlic naan ever! Full as a goog now!! Definitely recommend.

Very poor service. They could not get my order right. Simple order - 1 entrée, 1 main, 1 naan and 1 drink I was eating alone). later changed to add 1 more naan. Place was not crowded - 6 other people at 2 tables. Brought me 3 naans, then forgot my Mains. When I reminded them, it was closing time so asked me to take it away! Don't eat there. The food is not worth putting up with the poor service. There are MUCH better places to eat at in Orange. Don't waste your time or money here.
