We ordered a pizza and a salad. The pizza came on time, but the salad came 25 minutes later and the reason given was that there was a sign saying meals dont come at the same time and it takes 25 minutes to cook the chicken. This was the general manager talking. Very poor form, and would recommend anywhere else in Orange. We live in Orange and go to the Canobilis pub about twice a week, and if that is how the new management treats regulars, than you may want to give it a miss.

Great location but the room was basic, overpriced, poorly maintained and certainly not worth the arm and leg I paid for the privilege. Shower leaked, leaving the bathroom floor permanently wet and the bathroom floor was filthy. Cleaning is not their strong point. There is no bench space in the room other than two bedside tables and the top of the fridge. Hav the owners ever stayed in a hotel/motel before? Probably not given the basic room design and lack of functional design. To make things worse, the colour scheme and lighting was terrible making the rooms dark and difficult to see without opening the blinds. It was worse at night. In short, don’t be sucked in by the “grand old hotel” there has to be better accommodation out there. Room standards aside, the pizza is great but the cheapest bottle of wine in the bar at $47. Come on, you are a pub, not a fine dining pretentious establishment where gouging is the norm.

Okay, so... bare with me here. The new outdoor area is stunning, this is exactly what orange needed, I can see the vision, however execution was poor. First of all do NOT spend $25 on the Salami platter (see image attached). Secondly "ALL cocktails are $10" is incorrect, sad to say by "all" they actually only mean two of them are that price. And lastly the staff need to be taught some customer service skills, i was ignored by about 5 different staff members standing at the bar. But also in this current market for staff, I understand you have to take what you can get. This won't stop me from revisiting, i understand its only early days. However it does need some time to settle in. Oh and yes yes delicious pizza 🍕

Stayed one night. Room clean and good size. En suite dated but functional. The blinds were not block out and privacy and light was a issue. The Steakhouse is a stand out. We had the fillet minion Excellent. Good range beers on tap. Check in check out was seamless and a good experience. Elevators 🛗 gave easy access for luggage.

Dinner with work colleagues, food was good service was great. The pub is centre of town and very popular for locals and visitors.

Didn't stay just went for dinner. Steak was cooked as ordered and sides of chips and salad were perfect too. Mushroom gravy was best I've tasted. Very good. Looking for a good meal you can't go wrong hear.

Had lovely lunch here~was trying to get “fish pie”, but the restaurant was running out of it. However, lady who took orders noticed that I really want to have a try~~she surprised me with the hot fish pie~~~many thanks~and really appreciate the kindness and thoughtfulness ~~

We had lunch here and had the most delicious grilled chicken salad. The staff were all really friendly, delicious local wines and speedy service. Would definitely go back there.

The steak looked lovely, even though it was served with only broccolini and chips. It was so crusted with salty seasoning, it was almost inedible. Sorry to give negative feedback, but if there is a next visit, I would ask for no salty seasoning.

Food review only. We have been quite a few times but haven’t been in a while. Who puts green olives on a pizza. ? It was yuk. We ordered the supreme and it was very dry and tasteless yet very salty. Also a minor gripe. No Jim beam cans. It tastes so much better.

Three visits in one week. The new outdoor is amazing. The food is amazing. The fried calamari, the woodfire garlic bread, the gamberessa pizza, the sirloin and half bbq chicken from the grill, the king prawn linguine all that I've had is 10/10. Better than alot of the pizzerias in town. Keep up the good work.

Two meals were missed. Food was ordinary, the salads were not salads at all, just some lettuce leaves if you were lucky enough to get any at all. Meals were of a much lower standard than previous visits. Staff were pleasant and still has a great atmosphere but the food was disappointing.

The staff are polite and friendly in this Orange institution. Whilst the bistro is a little noisy the vibe is friendly and good menu choices. Whilst the room was clean sleep was disturbed by the air conditioning units cutting in and out and a strong smell of smoke from the wood fired pizza permeating the room. Centrally positioned and lovely view of the park from the front bar. Looking forward to returning when the top bar répond after refurbishment. Value for money.

Quick bite… lunch specials available. This visit had woodfired pizza. Well and truly cooked well and so nice… paid $16 each on special… normally $22 per large pizza. BBQ Meat Lovers and Supreme… definitely recommended. Staff are so cheerful and helpful… the place is well set up… well lit areas, both indoor and outdoor areas available. Impressed how clean the place is and great food options on the menu. Very reasonable price range… even the choice steaks selection.

The manager was happy, obliging, so helpful, as well as multi-tasking.. Was a welcoming experience... Restaurant was busy, but not a long wait... Food was moreish.. And the coffee was done well... Can only say thankyou for a good experience.....

Fairly priced. With classic 30s style big rooms, comfortable Queen beds & great pillows, bar fridge, & iron facility. Good shower. Lift to both floors. Dining room and public bar. Parking available. Friendly staff and warm reception.

The service was great and the food is excellent. I ate at their pub and it was a lot better than the royal hotel orange where I ate yesterday which was a rip off. Bigger portions, better service, friendlier staff who actually care about service. I feel the chef actually cares what they They give a decent sized meal. I had one of the best chicken parmigiana I’ve ever had in this place. I will come back again

I went here for a pub meal with some friends. This hotel does a great steak and a good range of other delicious meals. The atmosphere is welcoming and the Vibe is comfortable. The music is it a level that enables comfortable conversation. The furnishings and decor are pleasant and comfortable. I thoroughly recommend this place for a good feed.

Didnt stay we had dinner here a month ago, food was delish, i have no issues, very much enjoyed it however, the dark haired waitress who served us was very rude, did not communicate, just the order, heavily placed our dinner in front of us, cranky attitude, i felt that she just didnt want to be there and didnt want us to be there, this ruined the experience sadly.

I learned of the Queens passing at 3am due sleeping on the worlds worst bed. The rest of the place is kinda charming. Bit old school but that’s ok. Don’t expect to sleep though.

Rooms were under average, flakey paint everywhere and covers of power points were missing. Service was excellent thumbs up to the girls 👍👍👍. Location perfect, right in the heart of Orange.. Dinner: ordered garlic sourdough bread arrived 3 minutes after we've ordered it. Another 3 minutes later we've got our food, chicken 🐔 parmi and a meat lovers pizza. No way you cook this in this short time. Was boiling hot, feels like it was pre cooked and microwaved. Proof me wrong and I apologise “The Hotel Canobolas".

On the plus side the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. However, the negative outweighed the above. There were no glasses provided. The fixed windows were of obscure glass so you couldn't see out. There was no table or desk. When two people had had a hot shower the inadequate extractor fan meant that the whole bathroom was damp and any cosmetics or similar had to be dried. There was no shelf in the bathroom and very little space around the basin to put anything on. One large lounge chair occupied the only available space.

The location was great and that's it. Stayed overnight. Never had a worst sleep. Bed was very uncomfortable. You need to be superman to turn off dripping taps. Bathroom door didn't close got stuck, difficult to open. Paint peeling off the ceilings and walls. Definately was not worth the money. Very disappointing.

35 min wait for a coffee. We had our entrees AND mains before they even arrived!!!! It was also like drinking dishwater. I know you don't come to a pub for a coffee but if you sell it, it should be palatable and delivered timely. Steak sandwich was good. That's it
