The Cave of Haxhi Ali (Albanian: Shpella e Haxhi Aliut or Shpella e Ilirëve) is a karst cave formed in limestone cliffs in southwestern Albania, located in the Karaburun Peninsula near the Cape of Gjuhëz in Vlorë County. Several archaeological objects has been found, that prove that this cave was used by traders and passers during the ancient times. Take a trip from Vlorë and they will bring you here! This was some pirate’s (Haxhi Ali) hidden cave where he hid his treasures and attacked others. Quite a big and impressive cave! The boat tour here is awesome, the water is beautiful and the beaches are nice!

Since the weather was favorable, we had a really nice boat tour to this cave. it's one of the most beautiful places, I have been to. The rock formations inside the cave are just stunning! You can also swim there, although we did'nt. I recommend Teuta boat tour from Vlore, as they have a boat small enough to go inside the cave. The tour also includes the Sazan Island beach.

Make sure you come on a speed boat that goes inside the cave. Bigger boats don't go inside, you'll only see the entrance from about 50 meters (which is pointless)

Another must see spot in anyone’s Vlore itinerary. Majestic cave which you can visit from the sea, if you picked a small boat to enjoy a tour with. Bigger boats cannot really get in it so do keep that in mind.

a nice place, you can only get there by boat, we used a cruise ship that took us to 3 different places where you could swim in the sea... it was a nice pleasant day spent getting to know other places of the Albanian coast

What a amazing experience viewing this natural beauty. We were unable to enter in the cave as our ferry was too big, So I guess that’s another thing to think off when booking or picking which boat. Amazing water views !!!!

I absolutely loved visiting Haxhi Ali cave. The cave is surreal… I went in the shoulder season so there was no other boat than mine. I swam in the cold, calm water… just floating and admiring its natural beauty.

A must visit place if you are in Vlore Cave of Haxhi Ali The cave of Haxhi Alia is called Illyrian cave. It has the shape of a cubic of 30m long, maximum height 18m, width 12m and reaches 10m depth. At the end of the cave flow fresh water. It is said that a prominent Ulcinj warrior and seaman named Haxhi Ali fled with his son in this cave. From there they attacked the pirates of the sea and cooperating with the shepherds defended merchants and travelers crossing them. It is located on the Karaburun peninsula near the corner of the tongue. The Cave of Haxhi Ali is the most beautiful place of the Sazan Karaburun National Park. In addition to a tourist attraction, this cave has an amazing view as well as geological value since it contains stalactite formations that have been created over the centuries and centuries. The most efficient way to visit this place is the sea-going vessels.

The cave of Haxhi Ali is found on the landmass of Karaburun, at the northwest of Cape Gjuhëza. It is the biggest cave on the Albanian coast, with an entrance stature of 60m over ocean level. Agreeing to history specialists, this cave has the ancient title of the Illyrian cave.
