We stopped in for the first time because I’m a big fan of The News Junkie’s Fritz On The Street (Jeff) and we wanted to go to his trivia night. But…..it was canceled for the NBA Playoffs (boo). We drove from up north all the way down there on a weeknight. I think that they could have had both. But anyway, we stayed for dinner and sat outside. We had a nice server who was very friendly and attentive. We shared the savory brussels and a Reuben sandwich. Both very tasty. We’ll come back for sure. And will call first the next time :)

Oh my goodness! What an amazing find. Cavo’s Bar and Kitchen in Thornton Park was amazing. The onion soup was full of flavor, and the croc was covered with a large thick amount of cheese. My husband ordered half Philly Cheese sandwich I ordered half chicken Philly and they were both amazing. Full of flavor and meat! The Brussels sprouts had a great limóny flavor to it. The servings are large and delicious. We have enough for dinner left over! Sit outside and enjoy people watching in this beautiful area of town. We want to give a shout out to our server Kenny Rogers.

One of my favorite new sandwich restaurants. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich, which was an Italian pork sandwich. The bartender was very nice and her recommendation was precisely what I went with. The bar and restaurant were low key, despite being fairly occupied. I will be back again soon.

Really wanted to like this place, but it was disappointing across the board. Service was abysmal (our server was disinterested and slow), the onions in the French onion soup were way too thick and undercooked, and the meatball sub was one of the worst I’ve had (meatballs were totally flavorless and the bread was rendered soggy and gross within seconds). I usually try to find at least one positive thing to say in my reviews, but after racking my brain, I can’t think of one this time.

Newer bar/restaurant in Thornton Park. I picked up a nice salad for lunch. I was pretty good after adding chicken to it. Side note, the kitchen has been closing about an hour before the bar closes on three times I tried to go there in the evening. I wish they would just close everything or stay open fully.

06-2023: Just always a delicious place to eat lunch or dinner, love this place. Update: 01-2023 I came here for lunch agtfor the special which was Braised Short Rib Lasagna and it was just delicious. Super satisfied. Overall just a great place and great service to come for Lunch or Dinner, nice cozy spot in Thornton Park with good food and a nice atmosphere to just hangout.

If I never eat anything from Cavo's but the Philly cheesesteak and tater tots, I'll be ok with that. One of the bartenders (Reese) won a trivia question on a local radio show and was allowed to plug whatever business he wanted. He chose to plug his place of employment, which was... you guessed it... Cavo's. Being that it was Friday and we have work lunches on Fridays, I walked in the office and didn't even give anyone else a choice. Quite honestly the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had... and I've been to well known places in Philly. The tots were so crispy! Just found a new place to put in our Friday rotation.

I visited based on a recommendation from the Hoagie Gurus FB group. My Italian sub did not disappoint. Lots of veggies but I was very happy with it. I added the long hots and they could have been hotter but they were delicious. The cheesesteak was spot on and fed two people. We split the fries with gravy. It was a rare, cold day, and this hit the spot. Our server was beautiful and enthusiastic. It was busy and tables were reserved for the games later in the day, but she found my kid and me a great table and took good care of us. I'm looking forward to having a reason to visit again.

I have been there three or four times, every single time its awesome. Cool local bar with absolutely amazing food. Got the Philly cheesesteak today and it was one of the best I’ve had in years. Simple place that does it right, you would think more would copy their style part they are what good restaurants should be. 100% recommended

Had the opportunity to enjoy some time with friends at the bar while listening to live music. Cool local restaurant bar in Thornton Park with excellent food. We tried the Philly Cheesesteaks which is what they’re known for from what the staff said. The sandwich was excellent and made fresh. They have an excellent assortment of beers on tap and a full bar. Great Local establishment in the heart of Thornton Park!

Visited on a Monday afternoon and was seated immediately, there were few other patrons there. Ordered half a philly cheesesteak, and the french onion crock. My sis ordered curley fries. We were served promptly and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!

I have been here a few times now. Cavo's has a great atmosphere, good food, drinks, and good service. The Philly Cheese Steak is delicious. I also tried the Pigs in a Blanket, and it was spectacular. It's definitely worth stopping by

The Reuben was pretty damn good. The cheese steak would've been much better with the provolone, I'd do that next time. I've had better roast pork but it was certainly moist. I feel like everything you'd get here will be at least decent but probably good.

Not too far from Lake Eola. A nice chill place to have a group meal or even by yourself cause they have all tvs all over so you can watch your favorite sports. Very clean decor is different but unique. I had the Reuben and grilled Brussel sprouts with garlic butter. The sprouts were grilled to a crisp so it kind of took the flavor away but the employees remade for me a little less crispy with no problem. It was still strange but unique and I liked it. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and employees who were very attentive to all customers. The only downer is that I think I spent way too much for lunch and me to be by myself, so I probably won't visit again but otherwise good bar and place to hangout.
