In town for the weekend & decided to visit Ember before getting on the highway. I thought it was going to be a good experience but the stacks of plates weren’t clean & the food was burnt. I actually ordered mimosas & sangria but after going to the waffle station to have my waffle made I requested them remove the drinks. We paid for the food since we had started eating & left. The waffle was already sitting on the waffle maker & served to me as pictured. I was actually served after someone in line behind me. No idea why but I wasn’t interested in making it a issue so we just left. The drinks looked like they would’ve been good. The macaroni & cheese was also burnt. The biscuits were burnt. The prices on the menu need to be updated as they were told to us higher. All in all I hoped for a much better experience. I hope they use the review to correct these issues for future patrons.

The food was drier than the sahara desert! DO NOT get the steak skewers, had to ask for more water after taking 1 bite. One of the cooks came out and told my friend who was with me that they dropped his shrimp scampi dish and he had to wait another 30 minutes for his food. They didn’t even compensate him for the delay at all! Btw we came at 8pm, the place is empty, I couldn’t even imagine how long the wait would be if there were people here at this time. I got the weakest margarita in my life that it actually sobered me up. I understand now why people don’t come here for dinner. They should focus on making this place a decent bar instead of a restaurant, they’d probably be more popular and get better reviews. Please avoid this place AT ALL COSTS!

My girlfriend and I ate here on a recent date night hoping for a romantic dinner before seeing the symphony, but in the end left pretty let down. For starters the place was dead when we got there at 6. More on this later. The menu online didn't match at all what we were shown at the restaurant. Less than half of the dishes available on the online menu were on offer for dinner. We waited 20 minutes for a glass of wine before I went up to the bar and just got it myself. The shrimp app that we ordered tasted like they were fried with the shell on, and were also cooked well beyond the point of edibility. The Caesar salad she ordered was absolutely drenched in dressing, to the point the veggies were wilting on the sauce. The croutons tasted ok though. Speaking of sauce, she ordered the shrimp linguine and the sauce was completely separated when it arrived at the table, 45 minutes after we ordered it. I ordered the steak tips cooked medium and they arrived both burnt to a crisp and also somehow Kentucky blue rare. What appeared to be either a manager of the chef came out to the table to check on us, and my guy appeared high as a kite, or tired, or something, but he was not looking good. Like I said before, this place was not busy on a Saturday night so we're not real sure what happened here. Our waitress did comp the inedible apps, and seemed apologetic. All in all, this place was quite a let down and we definitely won't be back. It's a shame, because the location does have a lot of potential. Also bonus points to the 2 random dudes just hanging out living their best lives in the men's restroom. Really added to the ambiance.

My first time there and I fell in love! The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, and I've never seen a more beautiful staff! This is not your normal breakfast buffet, they even have mac and cheese and shrimp and grits! An omelet made fresh to order and a waffle station makes it complete as well as the fruit bar. Mimosas are presented like bottle service and the playlist is top tier! I will definitely be returning!

Had the best time for wine down Wednesday. Our waiter/bartender Malcolm did a great job. He made us drinks just as we like them with a little extra touch.

Great place for brunch. If you have not been here yet what are you waiting for? The food, staff and music was great.

We came into a cool experience, but it started storming and the bartenders there at the time went above and beyond to serve us, even in the storm. Once the bartenders changed shifts, an extremely rude bartender came in and and threw our drinks away. I asked him why and he said “no one was sitting there” he proceeded to argue with me and say I had an attitude after he threw our drinks away without even speaking to us. He came into work with an attitude, none of the patrons liked him, and had his manager back him up without even taking the time to find out what happened. I am respectful to everyone I meet, I make a friend everywhere I go and never have an issue with anyone. The only reason I gave two stars is because of the bartenders we had from brunch until change of staff. I will not EVER come to this establishment again. First and last time, respectfully. I’ve never been treated so poorly.

Horrible experience on Sunday 10/30. It was my daughters 21st birthday and a group of 11 family members and I went to celebrate her birthday there. While we were seated promptly we literally sat there for 30 minutes (NO exaggeration) and not a single person came to offer us menus, take our orders or help us. Mind you, this is a large group of well dressed professionals, we weren't some group of rude slobs or young kids. My daughter was wearing an obvious birthday sash and tiara, so it was very evident we were here to celebrate a special occasion. Yes, they were mildly busy but certainly not busy enough to ignore a large group for 30 minutes. Server after server walked by and never even bothered to stop and see if someone had offered to help us. My husband and daughter walked up to the bar to see if they could possibly order drinks there while the rest of us waited at the table. Not ONE SINGLE bartender, looked their way or even remotely glanced in their direction even after my husband politely tried getting someone's attention. I'm sorry but that is absolutely horrific service, or lack there of. We ended up leaving and you guys ended up losing what would have been a very lucrative tab from our group. Sad part is we were excited to take our daughter here as we used to love coming to ember for happy hours and good times with friends. I won't be back...there is a million other bars and restaurants in Downtown to patronize who appreciate their customers. Many of whom got a lot of business from us yesterday!

I’m never one to leave a review but wow only gave it 1 star because I couldn’t rate it a 0. To start, our waiter was very rude and never saw him again after he took our orders. One of our water pitchers came with a bug in the water and a strand of hair nicely placed on the pitcher. For being the only people in the restaurant, it was a nice surprise to see that our food took over an hour just for it to be extremely disappointing. One of our burgers came very burnt (mind that it wasn’t even a full burger patty, just a slider patty in the form of a burger), I ordered the roasted vegetable salad and it was an appetizing bowl of lettuce because that was all I got, and my boyfriends chicken sandwich and fries came cold, only thing we enjoyed where the hoagies. Overall, I don’t regret coming here just to let everybody else know not to waste their time.

Went here for taco week and man has this place has gone down!! I used to come here a long time ago and it was decent. We got here and sat at the bar for quicker service. (Bad idea). It was hot and humid as they keep the door open and their AC unit couldn’t keep up with the heat and humidity. multiple servers then keep ignoring my wife and I while attending multiple people around us. When were about to walk out a lady. Im guessing a manager took our order and then pawned us on the guy that had previously ignored us. The order took forever I’m guessing because the guy typed in the wrong order as we were offered other food which we didn’t order. Eventually got our food and asked for the bill. The bartender had given himself a hefty 10+ dollar tip and somehow forgot to give use the breakdown copy. Bartender somehow came up with another receipt that was much lower but still included an 18% tip.. I rounded his tip to 20% but I didn’t appreciate he added his tip without asking. Place sucks and they will steal your money if you arent paying attention.. so always ask for the breakdown as these guys will tip themselves hefty even when providing mediocre service

Front of house was completely disorganized. Our poor host was also our waiter and our bartender...maybe even our cook? There wasn't a shortage of staff but everyone was doing everything and tripping over one another. We sat just before 5, didn't get drinks for almost 20 minutes and didn't get food until well past 6pm. Over an hour for 3 appetizer. We saw two couples walk out and numerous others waiting forever, just like us. We had heard the food was good, and when it finally arrived, it was but not worth the crazy wait. It wasn't even that busy, place was less than half full. They need to step up their game. Unfortunately, I won't be back to find out if they do and don't recommend anyone else goes unless they don't have anywhere else to be and don't mind waiting...and waiting....and waiting. Drinks were good but overpriced as well.

Came here for my mothers birthday and they basically told her to F off. They asked for water and beer and the server only brought the beer and they were left waiting for over 30 minutes for their water. So many employees but they’re all standing around, on their phones, or just talking amongst themselves. At least they decorated for Saint Patrick’s Day, that’s about the only good thing going for them since their service is so poor. We didn’t even have an opportunity to taste any food, but based on other reviews I’ve read, I think we got off lucky. Come here if you like being ignored! (: We came to Super Rico Colombian Restaurant instead and the food is INCREDIBLE! Great prices and amazing staff. Go there instead

New or visiting the area? Wine Wednesdays are a can't go wrong day if you're looking to hang out and have an awesome time. Security is good at the front door to ensure everyone's safety, and the staff are super cool. The average age varies from 21 to about 40, but if you look the part just go with it, you're as young as you look and feel in my book...

I went to Ember for the first time for my birthday brunch, and let me tell you, it was amazing. $34 + gratuities and tax per person for bottomless mimosas and food. Food was buffet style but we did have staff checking in on us every so often to bring us more champagne and juice. The food was really good for the most part. The eggs were a little unevenly cooked and kinda gross, and the bagels/bread were hard, but everything else was pretty good. Besides those things, I tried the waffles, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, fruits, cheeses, and this chicken spaghetti dish and it was all pretty good, though not the most amazing food ever (besides the breakfast potatoes, those were incredible). I wish they had more variety in the juice offerings for the mimosas. The music was great and so was the ambiance. Bathrooms were kinda gross. Staff was really friendly. Overall, I had a great time and I would definitely go back. I definitely got my money’s worth!

Nice Sunday Brunch. Loved the outdoor patio. The staff is very nice. Very friendly. The food was good. My companions had the unlimited Mimosa brunch which they really enjoyed. My suggestion to improve a good thing would be to make sure there is always coffee and creamer available. Bathrooms need attention when busy.

We were not greeted when we came in and did not k ow if we should sit stand or what. After waiting for a few minutes at the front we sat at a table that a new guy's gave us the green light to sit at then another employee came to us and spoke to us with an attitude asking if we had a reservation. Once no was advised she said we'll you have to move you can't sit here it's for reservation only. At the time, all the tables were very much vacant, and only the bar was semi-full. We advised another employee sat us there and no directed us when we came in and she rudely stated again we can't sit there and walked away. As we headed to the bar my pregnant friend couldn't sit high up and after talking to what could have been the manager we received a small table next to the bar so we could all eat comfortably the waitress we had was very sweet. As we got up to get food, we all started at the omelet and waffle station. The man seemed like he did not want to be at work or serve us he had no smile he didn't greet us we didn't even know what the station is for until we asked and had to force an answer from him. He constantly walked away from his station for long periods of time and was rude to all the other guests as well as we continued to watch during our stay. I came once with coworkers and had an amazing experience, which I s why I referred it to my friends visiting but this visit not so great especially it being my birthday. But since it started raining as we were getting ready to leave we just stayed. We ate what we had and left.

Is there a negative star? We will not recommend this place to anyone. We were in town for a show looking to eat a little something and a couple of drinks, online the pictures seemed like the place, made a reservation but went in and NO Captian Morgan and NO Coke. Not a single person in the restaurant . It took a while to order drinks, and we have chased the waitress for the menu. Then we found out they only have a bar menu! So We Left! Best decision because we found the best Italian restaurant around the corner.

Went for brunch and the pancakes were okay but the add on for the pancakes, my portion had hard glass like crumbs in it so I had to toss that. Only about half the food was really edible. The mimosas were good but they need to step uo from a 5$ bottle of champagne to maybe an $8 bottle because that's what a college kid would drink and we weren't so much about it. If anything charge a but more. Staff was friendly and tried their best but sadly only 2 staff for the whole place (50 people or so). So service was poor due to ratios, not effort. Probably won't be back since there's better less expensive brunches with real champagne.

Our first time there and we really loved it! We went on a Saturday which was perfect since it wasn’t pack! Brunch menu was really good for it to be unlimited & they also had fruits and desserts. I give a 10/10 for the brunch menu & a 20/10 with our waitress Angie! She was really nice , on top of our drink orders , and provided excellent customer service! We reserved our table outside and it was really pretty. They had an interview going on while being there so they had to turn off the music. 3/10 for the DJ since the music was really low, the music wasn’t a vibe which that’s a must when you’re drinking & half the time he wasn’t at the DJ booth so the music was on a playlist. We will definitely be coming back soon in hopes of a better music vibe.

The new Ember supper club is lovely! I went for lunch for the first time in years. I always went to Ember for wine down Wednesday or Sunday brunch, but this new food menu is on another level. My friend & I split the smokey honey garlic wings and the baked brie with fig jam and bacon as our appetizers. For my entree, the steak & frites. Everything was fresh and delicious. I’m definitely going back soon in the evening!

Server did not come to our table so we had to move to the bar, where the bartender overcharged us for happy hour drinks and "forgot" to ring up our appetizer. The drink was weak, whiskey sour, and only filled half the small glass. I would not recommend this place to anyone that does not want to get ripped off.

Love this place and their Sunday brunch empanadas!!!

  • 4/5 Jermaine B. 2 years ago on Google
The brunch buffet at Ember is okay. I've had better brunch buffets at other restaurants. I'm giving 4 stars though because of the nice ambiance and the amount of champagne they served. We definitely got our money's worth from the mimosas alone. I would recommend giving this place a try.
