Very beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge. The room we had definitely needed some maintenance (drawer pulls falling off, outlet not properly installed, large chunk of tile missing on corner, small stuff like that). We found it much quicker to walk back to the hotel in the evenings after the park closes compared to using the water taxi. There was scheduled maintenance on the water that we were not told about and our daughter happened to be in the shower when our water went out completely. The day of our check-out, out expresses passes were not working when we arrived at the park. We had to spend the next 30-45 minutes getting it fixed. Overall, the hotel is very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is definitely worth the price for the express passes alone. We stayed at Royal Pacific our last visit and personally much preferred it to Portofino.

The hotel rooms are very clean. The hotel is somewhat aged but it’s charming. For over $500 a night the pool should open on time, provide access to water (bar doesn’t Open until 11) and all amenities should be open. The pool staff were not honest and told me the slide wasn’t opened because the pool water level was low. They opened the slide hours later when they had enough staff and the water level was the same. Don’t lie to guests. Boat ride to universal is very nice. Not a lot of access to ramps for strollers, but we made it work. We used the walking path on the way home and it was long but clean and nice also.

Was hoping for better. I hope our next visit will go more smoothly. We did discover staying in Park is a great benefit. The boat access to Universal and free fast pass made our trip much more enjoyable. The room was large and comfortable. It was also not fully prepared and the ac setting was stuck on 65 degrees. Checking did not go smoothly. Found out Military members do not enjoy all the benefits as those who book directly with hotel. Such as early check in. . They are not particularly well set up for the disabled. We brought our own bathroom grab bar which helped. We'll try again in a bit and see if the positives outweigh the negatives. #Portofino #Universal #disability #vacation

Exceeded absolutely all of our expectations. We had the minion suite which was awesome for the two kids and also gave us a gorgeous harbor view and a two min walk to the ferry. I did not find the hotel difficult to navigate whatsoever, so other reviews confound me related to that. The staff here are absolutely wonderful -from those checking you in to housekeeping to pool staff, etc. The room was clean and so was every other area. We love it here and highly recommend!

We stayed in January 2022. This is a beautiful property with friendly, helpful staff. Everything was very clean. We chose Club Level and were able to eat several meals in the lounge and everything we had was very good. My kids enjoyed the pools on the days it was warm enough to use them comfortably. There were always plenty of available lounge chairs and clean towels. We used the water taxis for transportation and never had to wait more than a few minutes for a boat to be coming or going. My only complaint is that it was very easy to get lost and turned around and find our way from place to place. They have a map via phone but I found it hard to use. All in all, you can't beat how gorgeous the architecture/design is, the cool beach pool with real sand, Express passes included, and the food and beverages that come with a Club level room. I would advise other travelers to take time to walk around the entire place and notice everything they have to offer, such as the pool table tucked away in an alcove near the beach pool, or all the little tables on terraces or in the piazzas where you can take your food or drinks or books and just sit and enjoy.

Great hotel! Loved the water taxis to/from City Walk. The room was very spacious and simply beautiful. The whole atmosphere of this resort is immersive. It feels like you've been transported to a little Italian village with street signs and cobblestone roads. The beach pool was so relaxing with a very tall water slide. Great resort for families and couples. Romantic and fun!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel to stay at. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in had 2 queen beds and we got a roll away cot. The bathroom was very spacious with a double sink which made it nice getting the family around in the morning. The only thing I was not impressed with was the mini fridge was the smallest one I've ever seen and I had to rent a microwave for $15 a day since it did not come standard in the room. Other than the minor inconvenience everything was wonderful. While more expensive than other hotels, the rate does include the express pass. We arrived on a Friday afternoon, before check in, and we were able to store our luggage until our room was ready and they issued us our passes and we were able to spend half a day at Universal. We also were able to leave our vehicle after checkout and spend half a day at Universal before heading back home. It was very convenient to have a quick boat ride to and from the park, especially at night when everyone was tired. The wait time between boats was minimal. There are many nice places to eat on site as well. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our stay and would definitely book there again. I would definitely like to check out the pools and other amenities offered on our next visit.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Awesome resort, love the theme, love the water taxi. Great room with Bay view, great service. Mama Della's is a must, get the mussels, thank me later. There was a pre-charge/hold on your credit card for every night stay for incidentals and room charges. We used our credit card instead but my cc balance wasn't exactly ready for the extra $600. I should know better since resorts at home do the same or worse with holds but...it worked out. Only slight issue was with the shower drains and plumbing. The drains on floor 3 East wing were slow to drain in the shower, and the sink drain would drain then gurgle a few seconds after the water vanished. The drain would also gurgle and make noise at random times while other rooms were showering. So the drains could use a little work. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We loved this place! This was our 3rd trip to Universal and we have stayed at Cabana Bay and Hard Rock. By far and hands down, Portofino was the best place we have stayed! Super clean hotel everywhere! The staff was very nice and helpful all the time! We had access to the Club Portofino and I will say, we loved having it. The food was great and fresh. Now, there were some items that did not quite fit our taste, but there were other options. This was perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dessert! We ate the dinner 2x, but only because we always like to try out new restaurants for dinner. We loved the Portofino and when we return again, we will definitely stay her from now on!

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The hotel was clean and well managed, even during the tropical storm. The pool was beautiful - we wish the weather had cooperated so we could have used it more. We ate at all of the hotel's restaurants, and all were consistently excellent! Easy access to the parks and loved the express pass.

The customer service is top notch. All of the hotel team were friendly, helpful, patient and attentive. Everything about the hotel is very nice. We liked that the hotel was much smaller than other nearby hotels like Cabana Bay. More quite and relaxing. Excellent pool and very much enjoyed taking the water taxi into Universal Studios. Only complaint is that the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable for our family....we realize everyone has a different bed preference, but these were not good. Otherwise, a great and relaxing hotel with excellent service.

We chose our most recent stay at Portofino for a special reason. 12-ish years ago we stayed here for the first time and it always left such an impression on us. So for our 10 year wedding anniversary we decided to come back. Thank goodness we did! The hotel/property is absolutely beautiful. Stunning views. Clean. Not noisy at all. Just fantastic. The bed in the room is like a cloud. We literally just laid in bed one day almost all day and ordered room service. The staff is friendly. The food on property is delicious. The proximity to the parks and the use of the water taxis is super convenient. We will definitely be returning and not waiting another 12 years to do so!

We've had a great vacation so far! We got upgraded to a bay view room with a balcony, in the 5th floor. The room is comfortable, with great beds, lots of pillows and a huge bathroom! The circle pool is super quiet, great for the child free to enjoy a silent afternoon of sun and pool time. The beach pool is noisy, fun and busy. Plenty of room for adults and kids, with lots of seats for soaking up the sun. Oh, and bartenders that serve poolside! Grab a provided pool noodle and enjoy! We also got breakfast included and have enjoyed the buffet each morning. It doesn't change, but there is plenty to choose from for every taste. Service is impeccable, staff is friendly and attentive and everything is super clean- everything I'd expect from a Universal Resort!

Great experience! We absolutely loved the italian vibe of the hotel and the bay view! We loved how convenient the water taxi was and how relaxed we were when getting to the theme parks. We really enjoyed the unlimited express passes that came with staying at the hotel. We got to Universal at around noon and we had completed the entire park by 3:50pm giving enough time to park hop if you'd like. The hotel also has a romance vibe to it with music playing near the bay. the nightlights of the hotel and outdoor seating with bay view were excellent.

The Portofino is a great way to experience Universal Theme Parks. The hotel itself is beautiful but it also offers many great restaurants so you don't need to leave the property when you come back after a busy day at the parks. The Water Taxi to the parks and City Walk is really convenient, easy and fast. You feel special. Also if you stay at the Portofino you get early access to the parks and Express Passes to your favorite rides. And it is really nice to have a Universal store, Starbucks, Ice Cream shop and grab-and-go-deli on site. This hotel will make your trip wonderful and your family happy.

What a hotel! Had an amazing experience and vacation here. Beautiful, clean, location is everything! My kids were in the pool ( large, water slide, life guards, pool service, music and activities all day long. The boat to Universal and city walk was a breeze and easy ride. Very impressed with our room - cleaned promptly daily. The service was AMAZING. Recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Orlando for a great experience.

This resort is amazingly beautiful if slightly aged. The service, food, and decor are top notch. We had meals at all but the thirst fish. Good quality and prices were reasonable for being a resort. Room (Minions suite) were well laid out. The only complaints I have are minor nitpicking. Only one tiny trash can in the room. Toilet has super low flow flush that doesn't handle "solid material" well. Finding things is not intuitive. There is a lack of signage, especially in the lobby, of how to get to rooms. Outside of that, amazing place. 10/10 would recommend.

Room was nice and a good size. One of the charging stations didn’t seem to work. Club lounge was convenient and had good food and excellent service. Andrew, in particular, went out of his way to provide excellent service. I wish dinner was a little longer or lunch was a bit more robust as we had to leave the parks early to get back for dinner. Also the food got depleted quickly and we had to wait awhile sometimes for it to be restocked. Convenient location to parks with an easy ride on the water taxi. Our son really enjoyed the pool.

Loved absolutely everything about our stay. Staff, accommodations, the pool, the ease of the water taxi to get to the parks and city walk! Each person you encountered was happy and with a smile on their face. I thought it was so convenient you could text the front desk if you had any questions or needed anything for your room. Everything was perfect. Bonus points for late night room service and having a Starbucks on property too! The grounds are stunning and very well kept. Our go to resort for Universal !

We made reservations for a Thanksgiving Buffet that was quite pricey at $85 a head for a party of 10. For half of our group, the food was great, unfortunately not so much for the other half. We informed our waiter that half of our party had gluten allergies. The chef came to our table and went over the special menus for those with food allergies. Everything seemed to be amazing until one of the food items labeled as gluten-free was, in fact, full of gluten. The allergic reaction was instantaneous in the first bite. We asked the waiter to double check the dish and we were informed it was in fact NOT gluten free as presented. Absolutely no remedy was provided. For a 5 star hotel at $85 a plate, it is totally inexcusable. The utter lack of remorse or concern is absolutely astonishing.. It will be a long recovery for the poisoned family member

We had the absolute best time on our visit. I have told anyone who will listen about the atmosphere and luxury. My husband and I have both said multiple times a day how stupendous this time off was for each of us. Thank you for the exceptional service, lodging, amenities, nourishment and for such a revitalizing excursion. We felt as if we had been transported, to our own oasis; while, in reality we remained on American soil, shockingly at a theme park.

Presently they are under renovation and because they have this disclosed to the public, they use that to provide you with worse accommodations I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. For what they charge they should be providing an excellent experience. Renovations are one thing, but when it interferes with your experience and expectations is another. Could not look out my window, because it was covered with plastic on the outside. Couldn’t access the pool from my nearby access. Had to walk the very long hallway. When I asked for a king bed it was denied. Reservations had been made for months. I don’t recommend anyone coming here while renovations are underway. Even with a discount it’s not worth it, you will be disappointed. Take your money elsewhere.

We stayed here 2 nights. The hotel was beautiful, clean and the customer service was top notch. I loved the ability to use text/SMS to communicate with the hotel. The water taxi made it very easy to get back and forth to the theme parks. We had a club-level room with access to the Villa club and absolutely loved the ability to stop in for breakfast or lunch/dinner snacks. We plan to stay again.

Small beds but everything else is excellent. Great to explore and lots of good options along with one of the best Italian subs I’ve ever had from Sal’s! Heated pool and hot tubs and a great water slide!
