PLEASE listen to the bad reviews about this place. I don’t usually leave reviews, let alone bad reviews but I want to warn travelers of this place. Worst hotel experience ever. We checked in and after 15 minutes of being in the room, we decided to leave and ask for our money back. The room was very obviously not cleaned before we got there. There was hair all over, dirt on the floor, bedsheets were like paper, pillows were bad, entire hallway and our room smelled heavily of cigarettes. For an affordable hotel, these things can be expected I guess but what really pushed us to leave was seeing MULTIPLE roaches in the room within the first 15 minutes of being there. Did not feel at all like a safe or sanitary place for us to stay. The man at the front desk gave us our money back for the room but was extremely rude, blamed us for the smoke smell (even though it was like that when we got there, and we were only there for 15 minutes), and refused to give us our $100 deposit back. This place is a scam taking advantage of people coming into Orlando to visit the theme parks. STAY AWAY. The fact that they have a security guard but no cleaning service says a lot about this place. Not at all like the pictures or description. Terribly disappointed. For $10 a night I would MAYBE stay here. Definitely NOT worth the $90+ rate. Would honestly rather sleep in my car.

This place is completely run down. Got charged $9 a night for a "resort fee" even though I paid ahead. Looks like they hired a bunch of kids to paint the interior. It's filthy, lots of broken things throughout the motel and even exposed wiring. I don't believe anyone actually cleans these rooms as there is dust and gunk all over the place! Literally residues on the table between the beds, the dresser and even the mini fridge. There is even a dirty napkin or something balled up under one of our beds. The biggest two for me honestly was that my door lock is broken and the room smells revolting. The guy at customer service desk named Andreas didn't care at all that we had these issues and simply shrugged it off. Not to mention another guest complained of roaches and was handed a raid can around the time we went to complain about our lock and another family prior to us even getting to check in mentioned their room smelled strongly of cigarettes when its a no smoking motel. The fact I had to wait over 30 minutes to finally get checked in is honestly the least of my worries at this point. I will never be staying here again nor will I ever recommend this disgusting place to anyone!!

Me and my family stayed in this hotel on March 31,2022 and left the very next day and of course I paid for 2 Rooms so I had to pay the $100 deposit twice...not one but both room we’re horrible there were roaches in the room my mom and my older kids stayed in and it looked as if it was not cleaned and in the room me my husband and my younger kids stayed In had hair everywhere In the restroom it looked like blood stains on the bathroom wall just DIRTY..oh and they didn’t have no breakfast as advertised they barely had coffee. They didn’t have any wash rags or towels even when we asked house keeping and the front desk we were told they didn’t have any they were all dirty. when we checked out the lady did give me half of my money back for both rooms however it is now April 9,2022 and I still have not gotten my $200 back from the deposits I’ve tried calling and they rarely answer and when they do answer the manager is never there even when I’m told to call back at a certain time when I do the manager is still never there!!!!!

I wish I could put zero stars. And I WISH that I would have read reviews before I booked a room. Sure the location and price is nice. Definitely not worth it at all. Spent 40 minutes just waiting in line to check in, it smells like marijuana as soon as you walk into the lobby. We got into our first room and it was DISGUSTING. The pictures on the website do NOT look like the actual rooms at all. The first room smelled very clean, but the shower was gross. Hair everywhere. They gave us a different room and this one had the mildew smell that everyone talks about. Cleaner but definitely not clean. Food and crumbs all over the floor, stains on the sheets, bugs in the bathroom. There was only 2 towels in the room, when we called for more towels, they told us to go into their laundry room. When we went in there we realized that they are wanting us to use the same towels and wash them ourselves. You can’t even get extra towels there. Absolutely disgusting. Worse hotel I have ever stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Room was filthy. Staff was unfriendly. There were roaches in the room. I think a freight train running through the room would have been quieter than the air conditioner in the room. They charged $100 deposit. Every time I’ve ever stayed at a hotel the put a hold on the credit card for deposit. This place charged the card for the deposit, it posted to the card. They never refunded the deposit. Called multiple times to ask for the refund. The phone was busy and unable to contact them. Had to call credit card company to dispute charge. The only good thing about this place is the location. STAY AWAY!

First, let me say price is what we needed and location is great. We didn't really have a bad experience here. The fridge in our room leaked real bad and there were no towels or rags available, but other than that it was okay. The problem we are now facing is we haven't received our deposit back from this place yet. A $100 damage deposit is required, which in my humble opinion, shouldn't even be asked because the rooms are not even up to code at all. We've been calling the hotel and every time we call we get put on hold and hung up on. No follow up phone calls, emails, nothing. We call back and the line is busy. Okay, cool. We were advised to wait 3-5 days and it's getting ready to go into a brand new week. As a guest who gave money to this business I shouldn't have to run you down about my "fully refundable" deposit. I'm going to give it until Friday (04/05/23) to receive the funds back, and come Monday morning I'll be filing a claim in small claims court, PERIOD. Will update review when I receive one

First I'm gonna start by saying Why is this place still in operation? I'm almost positive that health inspector is not visiting this hotel. The bathroom shower/sink looks like housekeeping has not been in there in months. There's mildew, rust and old caulking all over the shower and the tub didn't drain. The sink looked like it was gonna fall at any time. The floors had not been swept nor moped. Old food and hair was all over the place. The bath towels were stained. 15min after being in the room I went to the front desk and complained about the rooms and although the guy at the desk was polite he still couldn't help us, he told us that there was no other rooms available and he didn't work in housekeeping but would let the manager know. I even had him come look at the condition of both rooms so he could see for himself and he agreed that the condition of both rooms were poor. On top of that we were up all night killing roaches. We were only there for one night and didn't really sleep. This was the nastiest hotel I've ever been in and I'm so disappointed that a place like this is still up and running. I'm definitely reaching out to someone regarding the health and wellness of this facility.

If negative reviews were possible this would be the one place that gets it. I have never been treated with worse service since I started traveling. Upon check in front desk girl was friendly, place smelled a little weird but let's chalk it up to the construction that seemed half done. Got up to the room and it smelled even weirder and worse. One of the bed frames was completely broken. So we went downstairs and just let the front desk staff know and asked if we could change to a different room. Instead of being friendly the first question I was asked was how long were you in the room? Girl that did my check in kept trying to tell the guy that I had just checked in. Instead of even making an attempt to help or pretend to look and see if they had another room he just goes we are full there are no other rooms. After being treated as such he just goes if you want a refund you will have to email the manager, which I have yet to receive any kind of reply and now have to deal with my bank. Worst experience at any hotel ever. Will not even bother trying to stay here again. Not worth the trouble.

Stayed in hotel for 3 days. There was blood on the wall in the bathroom I cleaned up. Mold in the bath tub. No wash clothes in the bathroom. Asked a house keeper to clean my room and I was left waiting til I checked out. Guess they have no choice but to clean it now. No one will answer the phone when you call hotel or call from the room. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Priced to high for no service. Staff acted like you was asking for a first born or something.

We are in the middle of our stay and we got lucky with our room not being smelly. We are in a group and one of the families had to leave because of the smell and lack of cleanliness. There were toys left in their room and a dirty fridge. I feel like you are rolling the dice for which room you will get. My kids used the pool… but I wouldn’t trust them there in the evening. The water felt like it was78 degrees so a little bit chilly. The doors to your room don’t shut automatically so that is also something to worry about. The rooms are run down - but okay. It is nice having a fridge and microwave. Yes there were only 2 towels… but we brought pool towels so that helped us. The check in line takes forever. We were at the counter for about 20 minutes… and that’s after waiting in line. The beds are okay- not super comfortable. The pillows are nice. It is a cheap motel… but I don’t feel like the prices match the quality you get

This is an no extended hotel !Ok👍👍😂😇 The basin water was blocked for five days and the lobby manager did not change the room. You had to stay in the room for cleaning room five hours every day, and it had not been cleaned for a week. Obviously, I saw that the cleaner manager said there was nothing I could do, so I had to wait in the cleaning queue.Too bad, the United States has no second place in the world. These robots can do it. There is no need for so many lazy and rude people, which can save costs . In the past few days, the female lobby manager said that you can leave if you don't like this kind of service. I don't think there is nepotism. How can such a person survive in this world? I went back to the hotel tonight and saw that someone finally finished it. But do not change room yet.I wish boss business a prosperous and manager have a monthly bonus. May America be great again.

I stay at The Floridian Express usually 3 days a week. It's definitely one of my favorites on International Dr. Great rates, clean rooms and the staff is amazing, friendly and so quick to act on any requests that I ask of them. The location is great for just walking around and exploring the local shops and there's plenty of options for restaurants to dine out at. Thank you Floridian staff. Keep up the excellent work. See you soon.👁️👁️😁😘🥰

It’s a good price and great location and that is all. The rooms are big enough, but this place needs some upgrades. The sheets were stained, only gave us 2 towels for 3 people. The furniture are distressed. The bathroom had mold and looks like everything is falling apart. The clock didn’t even work. You can smell the mold in the bathroom, I see why it’s so cheap, but we only needed a one night. Plus if you’re around the area all the restaurants closes at 11pm and 12 am. All the restaurants are still understaffed.

Came here for the weekend to do universal horror nights. Checked in and all was going well. Started to unpack and we saw a roach on the wall. Packed my things and went downstairs for a new room. When i went down and told the staff, she didn’t even apologize and just told me there was one room left. It’s as if she knew of the problem already and they didn’t even try to resolve it. If i was here for a week, I wouldn’t have stayed here. The price is cheap because of how the place is. I’m not against marijuana but the hallways smell like straight dank. The walls and doors of the room look beat up. This hotel needs a major upgrade. The only recent changes I see they made are the flat screens they installed which must have been years ago. Nothing is plugged in and the tv in room 2131 has 3 channels. The remote doesn’t even work. I get you get what you pat for but if that was the case this should be a homeless shelter or they should’ve paid me to stay here. Absolutely unacceptable.

Looking for a convenient place at such short notice? I stumbled upon this hidden gem after being screwed over by Travelocity and Staysky (please note one night stay that is promised to be almost $90 should not end up becoming almost $400) Using a third party company to get a good deal for one night at this place ended up becoming a God sent. The staff is friendly, it's located on international drive so there are so many places to choose from eat out, shop or tour around. If you're down for a Mom and Pop like atmosphere, it's got that feel. I slept peacefully and didn't have any problems or disturbances on my floor. (second floor) Again if I need a quick place to sleep on short notice, I would come back here again.

Where to start… I guess The fact the gate to get into our section of the hotel was broken, so I had To hop over an 8 ft gate to get in. Our room reeked of bleach, but was not clean. There was dirt and crumbs in the linen, hair and dirt on the bathroom floor, and a roach to keep us company. The TV didn’t even work, and the A/C hardly kept the room cool. I’ve stayed at a dozen different places on I Drive. Spend your money elsewhere, this place is a dump

If you are looking for a hotel worth every penny of yours, this is the hotel to go. The customer service is excellent. Carolina took good care of me right from booking the room until check out. She is just excellent paying attention to every requirement of yours. I give ALL 5 STARS to Carolina. It is in very hot area and is in walking distance to many restaurants, gift shops etc., I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel worth every penny you spend.

Request sheets and again for someone to come take care of the flooding in my room . I booked pool view but got a view of a wall only. Tv didn't work so I went to the front desk we're the agent was gone for more than 30 minutes which by then I got tired of waiting. My room 1425 even had the door handle broken. Room was clean, location is great but service sucks, guest's service is non existant and everyone there seems to hate their job

Room is disgusting and smells like smoke. Said they were returning money and never did. The deposit was over 100$ and never returned that either. Keep calling for 2 days and the phone keeps ringing and ringing. What kind of business is this? I see that this website is apparently listed on scam alert websites. Nice.

  • 1/5 Ed T. 6 months ago on Google
The first room they placed me in had t been cleaned and immediately i began sneezing… They allowed dogs in and I am highly allergic. They moved me to another room that had been serviced it was clean and nice… but when I woke in the morning there were roaches everywhere… told the front desk and immediately she began telling me how she cant do anything for me… Lady I just wanted to inform you i was checking out today anyway. They charge a service fee of $9/night and $100 for a deposit which they probably hold forever… AVOID AT ALL COST!! Its a cheap room but not worth the headache! She gave me an email to make a complaint, why would I do that when I can make this review a d people will stay away HOPEFULLY! Edit: The room I thought was clean, had a disgusting finger nail that hadent been swept or vacuumed up! 🤮

SCAM ALERT: This place is a scam. I booked this room because it was the cheapest in the area and I needed to do something quick because our plans changed. I used a third party booking site called splitty- which is also a scam. Neither are accredited better business bureau, both are scams. We arrived to check in at 3- which is on the booking that I had, but there was a paper print out sign that check in was at 4. There was no one at the front desk and we waited for about 30 minutes as different people piled in to check in as well. I read the reviews during this 30 minutes and ultimately decided to leave the hotel before checking in, knowing that I may not get my money back. This place isn’t worth the headache they will give you. They require a $100 deposit which several reviews mention not getting back and being told something was stolen from their room. The vending machines even have a note on them from a visitor that’s says “eats your money” and that’s exactly what they are there to do too. They prey on poor people trying to do a cheap vacation and it’s disgusting. That doesn’t even include the fact that it’s still a long walk to universal because of the horrible pedestrian infrastructure. Do not stay here. Pay the extra $100 for piece of mind and choose one of the 3 star hotels within walking distance from them.

  • 2/5 Coley I. 11 months ago on Google
Pros: close to the theme parks, friendly staff, access to vending machines and coffee bar. Cons: oh boy where do I start??? Our room was terrible. I seriously doubt it was cleaned at all before our stay. There was hair ALL OVER the bathroom, garbage on the floors, stained towels and bed sheets, the smell of mildew and cigarettes, ants EVERYWHERE, broken bathroom fan, toilet didn’t flush properly… the list goes on. For the price, I don’t have above-and-beyond expectations, but seriously? I don’t know how this place is still open. If there are any health inspectors reading these reviews, PLEASE PAY THIS PLACE A VISIT. It shouldn’t be too much to ask for a clean room to stay in. That is the bare minimum and even that was not provided. Overall, if you’re looking for a budget option, go somewhere else. This place is filthy.

Not worth saving a few bucks to stay here! The layout is ridiculous! The room and hallways stunk very badly. No ice bucket and the room was very dirty. Not recommend! Really doesn't deserve 1 star. However the guy that was at check in counter was very helpful and nice. Only good thing about that hotel.

  • 1/5 Charles C. 10 months ago on Google
The ONLY thing going for this place is the location. The room was barely livable, the check in staff were rude difficult, and the heyday of the property was about a quarter of a century ago, which, coincidentally, was probably last time the rooms were cleaned. The place gave away my room, even tho they knew I wasn’t going to be in til late. I have a mobility scooter and, if there’s no elevator, HAVE to have a ground floor room. When I made a stink about it, suddenly they found a room. I tried calling the front desk on the way there 7 different times with no answer. The bathroom had a heavy smell of mold and there were only two towels.. those were the ONLY linens: no wash cloths, no floor mat, no hand towels. Nada! The microwave had food crusted all over the inside, I guess for a snack for later. The desk fell apart in my hands when I went to open a drawer and this NON-SMOKING room smelled of weed plus there were cigarette burns in the bed linens. To be fair, the AC worked very well and the fridge worked well. At about 1 am… the smoke detector battery decided it needed to be changed and incessantly “chirped” every other minute. I tried calling the front desk and, surprise, no answer! Had to get dressed and go down there and their response was to remove it from the wall altogether. Sure..why not add “fiery death in the biggest firetrap in Florida” to my bucket list. It was about a mile to Universal, which was nice, but this was literally the only reasonably priced room I could find on a holiday weekend so moving somewhere else, not to mention the epic hassle I could only imagine that getting a refund would be, was not possible. Avoid the Floridian Express at all costs.

Been here about 8hrs and I’m pleasantly surprised. The rooms clean. No dust, no cockroaches, no bloody curtains. The rooms cleans. Guys at front desk were quick friendly and helpful. There was 3 squad cars and 4 cops here when I checked in (not my business) and the cable freezes sometimes but if you just go up and down on channels a couple times it kicks back in. Those are the only issues which haven’t effected me at all. $100 for two nights? You literally can’t ask for anything better. More than happy with the stay and would recommend

I stayed here 3 nights and it was great. Made reservations online so by time I got there check in was super easy and fast. The receptionist was really friendly and professional too I forgot her name, but overall my stay was awesome for the price. Room was clean and neat and the vending machines on each floor a big plus for me 😍

  • 2/5 Anne T. 1 year ago on Google
The price was very affordable. But even for the low price you expect a little bit of effort in preparing the room. We were given two towels for a four night stay. We could have made due with that except the floor was so dirty we had to keep a towel on the floor to wipe our feet on before climbing into bed. The bed had an old fashion metal spring that was completely rolled up along the length of one side causing a person trying to sleep on that side to roll downhill. It was impossible for two people to sleep in the bed. The REALLY REALLY bad thing we didn't discover until the morning we checked out. We were on the ground floor, just off the parking lot. There was no latch on our windows. They had been ripped right out. I'm sure this was done for the purpose of making easy access to the room. We haven't noticed anything missing, but for the rest of my life that will be the first thing I'll check when going into any hotel room. The location was lovely. In the evenings we could easily walk to restaurants and gift shops, even a variety of ice cream shops.

If you complain about this place after paying only $60/night, you have serious personal problems. You just paid $60 for a quiet, comfortable, spacious, private room close to everything with great free coffee and free toiletries. We had a great night sleep, our room was clean, and we walked a block to the free Universal shuttle. Restaurants all around, free parking, nice staff & only $60! It's not the newest place, but the best deal around. Ignore the entitled people leaving bad reviews. They all forgot they paid $60. They can go pay $300/night to be further away watching perfect cable and getting fat on room service. If you don't think you are royalty, save some money and have a great trip here. I've stayed in worse places that cost 3 times as much. This place is great, I'll back - best deal in town!

I should have paid more attention to the bad reviews. People should really read reviews before doing anything. If i could leave no stars i would. This place is horrible!! I travel for work and have stayed in 100’s of hotels/motels. This place was filthy, there are roaches everywhere. The staff from the top down are the WORST i have ever encountered. Dont believe the kind responses you see on google regarding being sorry and striving to be the best etc. its all lies. There are many options for hotels on International drive that are far superior. Do not spend your money for this hotel. Its not worth even a quarter of that. READ the negative reviews and not make the mistake i did

The hotel was wonderful, the facilities are beautiful. The view of the city from my room was impeccable. The quality of the service is incredible, a guy named Euclides was taking care of me and I was fascinated, he is very attentive to everything, his attention was the best part. The experience is highly recommended.

The room and staff were great. The only thing they need to work on is dusting. The floor and furniture were covered in a layer of dust and the floor had bottle caps under the bed and the dresser. Also the back of the black flat screen TV was white from all the dust on it. So just make sure to inspect the floors and table tops and tvs to make sure they give you a dust free room.

I stayed here 3 days. Lina was amazing and help me out by checking in earlier. I was exhausted from driving and it was nice to see her welcomed face. The hotel is central and close to all rides and restaurants. They are renovating the rooms which is great ! Definitely will be back .

We really liked it this hotel we stayed in for 2 days the rooms were humongous we had a two queen bed pool View walk out bathrooms were nice the only thing is when it rained the room flooded by the patio door and the floor are made of tile so very slippery if it happens to you make sure you have backup towels the pool needs to be cleaned often it has a lot of LG marks leftover from the environment so it makes the pool look dirty they need to resurface the pool it looks like a giant bathtub honestly the staff was awesome if you can speak Spanish they're English was selected but they understood as long as you are smart you'll figure it out what they're talking about great location across from volcano Bay and a mall I will definitely will return thanks Miss China y'all😘

Ive stayed here 2 other times with no problem. Monday I asked for maid service and got it no questions. This morning when i asked the little girl said I had to ask the day before, never had to do that before. It is now 7:58 and it will be the 4th time I will have went to the front desk to ask for bed sheets for my kids bed. I won't stay here ever again, there are plenty of other hotels in the area. And not to mention there is mold in the bathroom and the faucet in the tub is about to come off and the tub won't plug so my kids had to take a shower.

The hotel is beautiful, very private and secluded compared to most affordable hotels in the area. Check in should’ve been a breeze, but HOPPER had the hotel’s deposit information listed incorrectly. Carolina literally saved me! She was very sweet and understanding of the situation. Will definitely stay again ❤️🎉!
