Quite enjoyed my stay here, although I did get extremely claustrophobic the second night. Night staff were more attentive than day staff. Rachel the night nurse on Surgical Ward 8 is absolutely amazing. She kept me cheerful. I was at PRUH on Thursday 22 July 2021 until Saturday 24th July 2021. Please pass on my heart of thanks to Rachel. X Surgical Ward 8 has only 2 toilets on the ward for bay patients and these include showers. Only one toilet is perfect size, clean etc. Other one is small and sometimes dirty. Second toilet is not nice. Added photos regarding parking in the hospital grounds.

Wonderful medical staff. But they really need to replace the whole admin team with a better team half the size. As for IT, they have a totally outdated windows computer system on wheels that is not fit for purpose. People don't use paper enough which means there is no communication between teams. If you end up here, prayer may well be your best hope.

Appalling treatment i had here was admitted with suspected Stomach Infection but was misdiagnosed three times by the Doctors and given the wrong medication that made me ill. Turns out i had a inflamed colon and a blocked bowel caused by a infection when one of Doctors finally managed to find out what was wrong with me! I had to beg Doctors for painkillers and to get treatment for it while the Doctors were being dismissive and patronizing of what i was saying. Given one of the Nurses could not even get the Cannula in properly! To get the Antibiotics in! The Doctors would not even listen to me what i was trying to tell them about my symptoms and kept talking over me and being rude saying i just had Constipation when i had a high temperature and vomiting. One of the nurses also removed the Cannula quite forcefully causing bleeding and a scar on my arm! One of the worse things i have been through! Felt being in a torture chamber given the experience i had here awful treatment! for the love of god if you value your health go Private.

Absolutely awful. My mother has been to hospital several times, this one several times, and though her experiences at this hospital are never good, she has never had an experience this appalling. My mother was crying and in a lot of pain, the result of a deficiency that is life threatening if not treated urgently. So, she called 111, who said an ambulance would be 17 minutes at most, however we didn't even see the ambulance pull up until almost 4 hours later. Further, the doctors with her were useless and had no clue what they were doing. She's in hospital for a few days after having blood transfusions, and when she comes home, it looks like the nurses have beat her. The nurses are absolutely appalling, having missed one of her injections several times, which was followed up by them then bursting her vein before they were able to successfully insert the needle. The staff are also rude, and highly patronising, they provide no support for the patients or the patients relatives. A previous time my mother was in this hospital it took us 3 hours to find what ward she was on because the nurses had no clue where my mother was, which is ridiculous. She has had more than 1 heart attack and has been promised emergency treatment and a kidney transplant as soon as possible, yet we have been waiting for these for 2-3 years now. She has made several appointments to help with her illness, but they get cancelled almost every time it comes remotely close to the day of the appointment. Quite frankly, if you're looking for good medical attention with polite and helpful staff, and you are given a choice, I would not recommend this hospital.

Emergency Dr refused me an MRI and incredulously gave me a 'pass' score on my motor tests for a suspected brain tumour when I could barely walk or see straight. I had to have my partner help me walk. After being turned away I referred myself onto to private Drs via my health insurance. Days later I had a private MRI and was diagnosed with a brain tumour the size of a plum, as well as early hydrocephalus threatening a massive stroke. Was wheeled in for emergency brain surgery and fortunately a private neurosurgeon removed the cyst and tumour. If I'd not sought help post PRUH, I'd now be dead. It distresses me greatly thinking of all the poor people who must experience this but don't have the benefit of private health care to explore things further. My partner and I followed this through with PRUH over several months and they fobbed us off, largely dismissing our story (my partner witnessed the entire appointment and could corroborate proceedings), with the outcome of promising 'more training' to prevent this happening in the future. I would suggest that PRUH's investigations team are far more concerned with burying instances of possible malpractice for the sake of defamation, rather than addressing them. Absolutely disgraceful by PRUH and the NHS.

Had to take the time to write this review as the nhs gets such a bad rep all the time. Had my first child here not long ago and I have to say the service I received was amazing. There were a couple or hiccups and one or 2 unsavoury characters but nothing is 100%. My experience overall was good and I was well taken care of. Thank you so much all the nurses midwives and doctors who show up every day and keep us safe. We really do appreciate you

The best hospital ever. I worked there as SHO for 3 months. It has an outstanding staff. Everyone there is supportive;doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical staffing, management, etc. Literally all the staff are amazing. Thank you so much for all Princess Royal University Hospital staff.

Absolutely appalling experience. My mother was admitted by the ambulance services due to a suspected heart attack. After initially being told we would be seen as a matter of urgency, we waited 3hrs and were passed between 3 different people, none of whom listened to what we were saying and one of whom 'shushed' us when we were explaining symptoms. My mother had an anxiety attack in the hospital and broke down in tears after being treated with utter contempt by the staff who on seeing her break down in tears said 'If you don't want to be here, go home', whilst they walked away from her. It was abhorrent behaviour. I asked the reception why we had to see 3 people, and then a further 2 more (so we'd been told) to get a simple blood test which had already been recommended by the paramedics. The response was an irritated and terse 'I dunno, just sit down and wait'. I explained that my mother was in a state of extreme anxiety and crying. The male receptionist just shrugged. It was infuriating. We simply left as the situation was causing my mum so much distress and not a single staff member seemed to care at all. It's so sad that this is the environment we send our sick and poorly into. The complete lack of care or consideration was disgusting, and the attitude of the staff was despicable and inexcusable.

I was supposed to have my op at King's but it was cancelled and I had it at PRUH. I much preferred it at PRUH. On the day of admission I found the staff to really lovely, everyone went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and relaxed, particularly the anesthetist but everyone before and after my op what a nice bunch of people you are. They were in a hurry before the op but it didn't feel wrong, just efficient. Very pleased with the surgery, my surgeon was sincere and skilled. The night staff on ward 8 are amazing, one lady (I'm sorry I don't remember your name because of the drugs!) Walked me around at night trying to make me more comfortable and had a laugh with me, you were just lovely and I'm in awe of the work you all do. The only reason it's not a 5 is because the bathrooms/toilets didn't feel too clean and being discharged felt a bit rushed, but I understand these are funding issues.

Zero stars really for this awful place,, unorganised, unprofessional, argumentative staff,, nurses more interested in texting on the mobiles rather then doing there job, junior doctors (whilst there not on strike asking for more money) are busy dangerously misdiagnosing patients, your more likley to get more ill going here for treatment rather then recover

The children's emergency department are dangerously lacking in skills, expertise and kindness. Some are extremely cruel as well as arrogant. They don't fear any consequences, so are rude to parents whilst putting them and children through hell with their costly mistakes. They created an unnecessary panic from the moment of our arrival and spent hours shouting and arguing with each other. Not all staff wore scrubs during procedures, and several staff were more interested in texting on their phones. They hate each other and, most of all, hate parents! Not to be trusted - avoid at all costs.

I was treated with so much respect and kindess, and an excellent level of care from the doctors and nurses in A&E here. They were patient, thorough and very sensitive to both my physical and emotional needs. I've also had day surgery here last year and received the same excellent level of care. Thank you so much.

I attended A&E with chest pains this week. The A&E staff were so responsive, I immediately received first class treatment from a highly skilled team of medical professionals who looked after me incredibly well. I was transferred to the Acute Medical Ward where again I was the recipient of excellent attention from every singe member of the team. I even met the Chief Nurse who was helping change beds, such a great example of leadership. I was then moved to Cardio Medical Ward 7. Without any delay I was assessed by a Consultant Cardiologist and swiftly treated with a detailed explanation every step of the way. Not only are the Doctors and Nurses outstanding, so are all of the very important support staff, who work equally hard. I am exceptionally grateful to everyone I had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you all so much.

Absolutely disgusting !! After ringing 111 yesterday night when are baby had a fluctuating high temperatures of nearly 40 and being very sleep , they advised us to go to the hospital so they booked the appointment. When we got their we was seen by the larger nurse couldn’t remember her name as was so confused with anger by the way she spoke to me “ why have you come here didn’t you go to your doctors today “ “ put a mask on ! “ “ she just got a stomach bug this isn’t the place to be “ “ telling me son “ get off that seat I need to speak to your mother “ I never wanted to hit Somone before in my life I had to walk out , I had my daughter seen and she has a quite bad chest infection and is being treated with antibiotics I would step foot in the place ever again and I advise everyone the same you’re be better off finding help off of TikTok

On Friday I was diagnosed as needing urgent surgery and a provisional appointment was made for Saturday. Thanks to the usual Friday night surge in A & E my appointment had to be deferred to Sunday. I am very nervous about medical issues and have a claustrophobic fear of hospitals. Every single member of staff I met - janitorial, administrative and medical - could not have been kinder or more reassuring. Too many individuals to mention by name and invidious to single out anyone in particular but thank you, ALL of you, for taking care of me and making sure that I was given sufficient support to be discharged today pending further appointments. You each deserve far better pay and conditions than you currently receive.

The reception along with the assessing staff are all complete waste of time. We have spent over 2 hours on the phone with 111 to then arrive at this hospital to wait for another 4 hours with the queue keep building up in front of us. What was the point to assessing us over the phone, make decision to send us to the hospital promising that we will be seen straight away and then just keep putting us back into the queue as some complete time waster brought in by the police was more important than a person with a genuine medical issue. These people have no idea what they are doing. This hospital used to be really good and it went completely downhill. Oh yeah and after 4 hours of wait we were told that from midnight there will only be one doctor and you night here for another 2-3 hours before you could be seen and that's only if no other more important patients will arrive. Ridiculous!!!!! Completely unacceptable and such a waste of the taxpayers money.

Excellent experience in the Surgical Assessment unit today. All staff including receptionist, nurses, care staff and doctors were great. Caring and so professional. Made an unexpected day at the hospital a much less challenging experience.

I would like to place on record my appreciation of the excellent treatment I received at the Princess Royal Hospital, Orpington from the moment I arrived in A & E at 0145 hours on Good Friday in great pain, from then until 0600 hrs the care and attention I received was second to none. Then I was admitted to unit 2, Medical 9, Bay 129, bed C and again the Doctors and Nurses were so attentive to my needs. I spent 6 days in hospital and every effort was made to make my stay as comfortable as possible, especially as I an allergic to practically every known antibiotic. I cannot stress how grateful I am for the excellent treatment I received from the Doctors, Nurses and all the Ancillary workers who made my stay enjoyable. Over 13 years and many illnesses and operations I can honestly say, in my eyes the PRU is the best hospital and I am indebted to them for their wonderful care.

Maternity. Had second baby here a few days ago. The quality of the facilities but especially the staff is so impressive. The level of care, expertise and compassion is something the hospital should be really proud of. Wasn't plain sailing, but the way the team escalated and dealt with the situation felt text book. Particular thanks to Lucy and Renee on the Midwife team - the PRU is lucky to have you.

Was in Medical 8 for respiratory purposes, and I have to say I’ve never come across such excellent nurses during my stay/care. They were all amazing (same couldn’t be said about all the doctors). But I must say a very special thank-you to Gill and Barbara for boosting my morale so much 😊 They made me feel better when I was feeling at my lowest. Special thanks to Medical 8!

Was advised to attend Princess Royal University Hospital A&E department after a phone call with 111. I was advised to check in at 18:20pm. I had swelling to the left leg, knee and ankle and a increased heart rate of 130BPM, along with this I was dizzy and was unable to control my breathing due to an increased heart rate. When I arrived for my assessment the nurse checked my blood pressure- the first time this was done the Velcro popped off as it was so tight, the 2nd one she used was so tight I nearly collapsed, I was in severe pain and distress as my blood circulation was temporarily cut off in my lower arm, after taking it off, I was left with bruising on the skin and internal damage to my arm where I was unable to move it and was in excruciating pain. After waiting 2 hours to see a doctor, I was disgusted with the service provided, he did not know why I was there, did not understand any of my symptoms and was unable to give me any kind of indication to what was causing me so much distress.I informed him I had a specialist appointment within the coming weeks but my symptoms had intensified and I could not wait until this appointment. The doctor however; informed me to wait till my appointment and could not give me any kind of help or answers as to why I was experiencing multiple symptoms- mainly being my increased heart rate and the excruciating pain I was in from my leg which was swollen and had resulted in me not being able to walk. The doctor did not want to know and sent me away. When I arrived home I noticed I had bruising to my arm from the blood pressure machine being unbearably tight and leaving it numb with pins and needles. After being fobbed off from the A&E department, plus leaving with further injury I was furious. I will never be attending this hospital again, the service I received was a joke, this ‘doctor’ had no idea in what he was doing. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and service received. They are lucky I am not taking out a claim for the injury of my arm.

I was triaged to PRU after a suspected TIA - although there was alot of sitting waiting to be seen (through no fault of the staff - usual problem of under staffed for the number of people needing help), once I got into the system I cannot fault the care I was given by all the staff - the doctors, the lovely nurses, particularly on medical ward 5, the physio and the occupational therapist - all over worked and under paid. I wish I could thank them personally and remember all their names but especially lovely Irene on medical ward 5.

My review is purely for the “Operator” when you call the hospital and nothing to do with the hospital’s other services. Today I called to asked about some medical records. The woman on the phone mumbled something about me needing to “call back tomorrow anyway” (I suspect because today is Sunday). She then said “you’ll need to call tomorrow and speak to Medical Records”. I said thank you and was about to ask a question when she hung up on me. I gave benefit of the doubt and called back, explained we’d been cut off and asked if there was a direct number for Medical Records. She conferred with a colleague to double check that Medical Records was the right department, and then gave me a telephone number. I got as far as saying “great, thank y-“ and she hung up again! I’m giving 2 stars because she wasn’t unhelpful, just rude 😂 Bizarre.

December 23 I had a wonderful and eventful delivery with my son. The team from my induction to leaving the hospital were amazing, each and every midwife and student midwife that came to support me during such a special time I could not fault them. Thank you to the birth centre team for making our stay worthwhile and helping us identify when my son became ill. Thank you to the neonatal team for keeping us updated every step of the way. I never had any doubts about having my pregnancy at PRUH and I’m glad it was all it lived up to be!

The Ambulatory Urgent Care needs a better communication system. I was told after an A&E visit referral that someone would call me within two days but after a few days I followed up to be told that I shouldn't call and I needed to wait for another week. It's been more than three weeks now and no one even gave me a courtesy call or final letter for my diagnosis. GP said they are waiting to rule out other issues and still waiting..hopefully won't have a stroke or heart attack before they decide on my high blood pressure readings..however, thanks to the doctor who was nice and ordered a full blood test because she realised my past collapse was not checked properly by my local clinic.

Received good care here when I was in for 8 days due to a DVT and PE. Food was nice and the staff on Medical 8 were very friendly. The reason I give three stars is because one doctor who I believe was a university nurse, asked me to strip to inspect my body in a private area that had nothing to do with my condition. I felt very uncomfortable with this and it’s a shame that I can’t remember the name of the “nurse” who did this. In addition, another thing that brings the score down, is that multiple times I’ve called the on-site haematologist as I’ve experienced complications due to the DVT, and on every occasion I’ve called they’ve been out of office and their receptionist also appears to be absent. Other than that though, my time here was pleasant and it felt more like a hotel than a hospital stay. Huge respect to the staff on Med 8, especially the nurse named Beauty who looked after me whilst I was there.

Took my son to A&E after being referred by GP. The reception staff at Urgent care were so rude. Kept telling me to join the queue when I was second in line, standing behind a person in a wheelchair (nowhere else to go) When I said I was in the queue she told me not to have an attitude. Then proceeded to tell me she felt unwell and didn't need anyone's attitude. Rudeness beyond belief. If you're not well, stay at home. What the hell did she think I was in A&E for?? A party? Was treated with nothing but kindness from all other staff. NHS PRUH sort out your administration staff in Urgent Care. If they can't be polite as a first port of call, then maybe they should find a different job.

Am currently an inpatient on Farnborough Ward and have been for 6 days following emergency a&e attendance. Was transferred to ITU for several days then stepped down to Farnborough Ward. I have a large individual room with bathroom- sounds nice but unbelievable this modern hospital has no heating whatsoever . My room is extremely cold and when you are sick you aren't moving much. Almost unbearable and bathroom equally freezing. I am now coughing a lot. Some of the Philippines nurses are lovely and cheerfully helpful. I have been an inpatient at King's and although the accommodation is old it's an incomparably better hospital from medical care and the way you are treated. I have little confidence here They seem totally uninformed about my renal condition and the food is far from a renal diet- in fact they have me down as a normal diet although I keep telling them . Can't wait to get away and back to my King's renal appointment. I said last time I wouldn't go back here but unfortunately it was an emergency admission. Very poor in my view. Avoid. has no heating at all

If I could give the "care" i received at this place today zero stars, I would. I was sent to the urgent care centre by my dentist after developing an abscess the size of a golf ball on the side of my face. After waiting for 4 agonising hours with this thing in my jaw, I was seen by the most unkind, condescending junior doctor I've ever come across. She was harsh, uncaring and just all around unprofessional in her manner. I was made to feel like a huge inconvenience to her even though I wasn't there by choice but was sent there by my dentist! Trust me, I would rather be doing anything else than sitting in A&E on a Monday morning. An all around horrible experience. I'm going to avoid this place like the plague in future.

Admitted as an emergency which turned out to be historic/ongoing heart failure. Ambulance staff were fantastic, A & E at the PRUH were fantastic as were the doctors, consultants, nurses & ancillary staff on Medical ward 7. I was in for 6 days, my 1st time as a hospital inpatient & I cannot fault the way I was treated in any way. Hospital food is often slated but I was very impressed. The morale & cheerfulness of all the staff was fantastic, despite the pressures on the NHS due to Covid. Full marks to the PRUH & my heartfelt thanks to everyone who cared for me.

Visited plaster room today. Very quick, friendly service following a visit to Beckenham minor injuries unit. yesterday with a dislocated finger. Absolutely amazing service. In and out in an hour and half. Triaged, 2 X-rays and a manipulation. Receptionist super helpful, all the nurses and radiologists were very kind to me as I am not brave at all. I attended the urgent care centre where there most certainly was no urgency in anything. What is their triage for? Just another tier to evidence contact with those pesky people otherwise known as patients. Thank god the staff I came into contact with do not work in the private sector where being responsive and efficient are paramount. Lots of staff / doctors milling around but no patients being reviewed. Perhaps one an hour. After 3 hrs the ENP I had seen at triage called me in to review my condition and send me off for an X-ray … why couldn’t she have done that at first contact 3 hrs previously ???? X Ray was brilliant! Sat down for no more than a few minutes before I was called in. After 4 hrs I finally left the hospital feeling very despondent I am a nurse

I have had issues before and had to make a complaint to PALS but this time they are pulling out all the stops for my elderly relative. Occasionally it seems they don't have enough staff but that is probably everywhere. The majority of staff I have dealt with are friendly and helpful. I dislike that even though, it is a non smoking site, I have to walk through patients who have been wheeled out by the entrance who are smoking like chimney pots. They have several internal/external areas that have plants and wonder why these aren't used. It is more scenic and restful than a busy carpark.

On my short stay in the place I went for the all inclusive option. Staff were terrific and very attentive. I've stayed here before and then I found it was much better. Infact i didn't want to leave that time, it was that good 😊. This time however, there was a few issues. Some of the people in my room, were very noisy, keeping me awake most of the nights. A lot of beeping noises off and on all night. And I must say changing peoples beds round in the middle of the night was most inconvenient! At one point I had to go to the reception on my floor and complain. I did ask for a room with views over their lush Gardens. Instead I was given, what I thought was a slightly overcrowded room with a view of a courtyard. The food was great though and so as I said was the staff. This time however I couldn't wait to leave. So I think they could improve this by sorting out the rooms better and who stays in them. As well as trying to get rid of the beeping sounds more.

Fantastic hospital- great staff, clean, professional, informative and efficient. No one wants to visit the hospital and have to stay over night. However, all the professionals that saw to me were attentive, helpful and amazing. Thank you, who would of thought a hospital stay could be outstanding! 😊

Been into the day surgery unit for a procedure/operation. The experience from reception to release could not have been better. Herma was my main nurse along with Paul. There was also Simon in recovery who had been nursing for 33 years. All were really efficient and put me at my ease. Bearing in mind the procedure was on my waterworks I was understandably nervous. I can’t thank them enough. It was truly a positive experience.

I was looked after so well after my recent day surgery. I was soo nervous and the nurse took me down and held my hand. I really did not feel well at all after. The only feedback I could give is that when a letter is sent out in preparation for surgery that it has all the correct information such as that you should take along some biscuits for recovery afterwards. I did have a letter saying I was going in at 7 and must be picked up by 10 which was not correct I did not leave until 5 after having ceptoplasty and polyps removal . The care I received was second to none wonderful and felt really looked after

I'm 33 year old. I come in at 16:30 with chest pain after I waited for an ambulance since 14:00 o'clock without no luck, I decided to use my own transport. After being here an ECG was done only two hours since arrival time then an other two hours waiting to see an ED Clinicians they want to send me home even without a blood test being done to check the troponin and D-dimer which are essential to exclude IHD/MI, I have to mention the risks myself to the clinicians to take it a bit seriously and to get other people involved with the decision, but is still no plan available yet. Here is no care taken seriously, if there is anything serious there was plenty of time to die until attention arrives! After arguing with the Clinician and he involved other team members in the decision making in the end I have to stay for more investigation, lucky me that I am a member of the NHS and I have knowledge of the illnesses risks and plans otherwise I would be sent home with no proper examination and investigation !

On 19th Dec 2023 I had a hernia operation at the PRUH. My surgeon was Mr Ahmed Helmy who was really lovely such a gentleman. I am still recovering but the operation was successful and my care was excellent. Thank you

The care my wife received was excellent, the staff who where working were doing well under the conditions the had to work under. The doctors , nurses , and care staff are great, unfortunately they have one or two ancillary staff whom were less than empathetic and lost sight off were they are working, apart from that excellent

My husband has terminal cancer and had a build up of fluid which was affecting his breathing and was unable to eat , McMillan advised I call 999 and get an ambulance to him urgently, which I did , the ambulance arrived quickly and the crew were fantastic in assessing my husband . He was transported to the PRUH by ambulance. We then had to wait in the packed A &E waiting area with patients literally vomiting next to us . After 4 hours of no communication at all , I enquired how much longer we would have to wait as by now my husband was due his meds of opioids to relieve his pain and was feeling extremely unwell . There was absolutely NO compassion from the staff just told he wasn’t priority. I had to make the decision to bring him home without any treatment. TBH - felt like I was in a 3rd world country absolutely disgusting.

Can’t fault the fantastic staff that work here. Was seen by a lovely lady called Sue in urgent care within 15 minutes of arriving, she sent me to X-ray and had to wait a while which is to be expected in a hospital this size, straight back to Sue for the results, then she plastered my leg, back to X-ray which was quicker this time, again they were very busy. Back to Sue to check cast was holding my bones in the right position. Sue sent me to SAAU to have a blood thinning injection. Was checked thoroughly by the lovely ladies there, weight, bloods and blood pressure and shown how to inject myself. The staff here work so very hard and are really up against it everyday with the sheer volume of patients they see but all the staff I met were so very kind, reassuring and helpful to me, I for one am so very thankful I chose this hospital. Thanks so much to all who looked after me.

Better stay home than to come here. Came with a two years old boy throwing and crying with 39 fever and they let me wait 4.5 hours. This is unreal. Racism. The doctor was extreme rude

I dropped a close family friend of mine into A&E early this morning. She was left in a wheelchair bleeding and having a miscarriage. She was told to “sit down properly and wait” by the nurse. Her husband had to beg for her to be seen. They were told by the surgeons “why didn’t you come in earlier?” Disgusting treatment. Embarrassing. Avoid this A&E department at all costs.

Spent 6.30 hours in UCC. 3star because the relevant checks were done however waited 5 hours for results. What I did observe is if you complain about waiting or wail out in pain then the staff would quickly rush to action to be seen however, if you sit quietly in pain, like me then unfortunately you go unnoticed.

Absolutely awful experience in pediatrics A&E at PRU. Firstly, we went to Queen’s Mary Hospital and were seen by a doctor who seemed very capable and gave my son a diagnostic. He also reassured me it wasn’t anything to worry about, but he insisted that my son have an X-ray and blood test done that evening and sent us to Princess Royal Hospital. This was when we encountered staff that was not interested in listening to us. The nurse started getting ready paracetamol for my son without first asking my son if he was in pain. I really can’t understand how a nurse could give medication for no reason, even if just paracetamol. We kept waiting; I have tried to tell the nurse that we were only sent to have some tests done and that a doctor had seen us, but she wasn’t interested. Then, after probably over 2 hours, I told the nurse we would leave as we already knew what my son had and was aware it wasn’t serious. Finally, my son was seen by the junior doctor, who then consulted another A&E doctor and told us they agreed with the diagnostic issued by the doctor from Queen’s Mary Hospital. My point is we didn’t go to PRU to get a second opinion, but we were sent there for a set of tests. We asked the doctor at Queen’s Mary if we could do the tests the next day, but he insisted on going that evening. The doctors at PRU completely ignored this and they seem to me like we were bothering them. We have wasted our time going to PRU while my son was exhausted and very hungry.

I was in ICU for about a week after being admitted with gallbladder issues that shut down my lungs. Then I was on the respiratory ward recovering for another two weeks. The doctors, nurses and support staff were all fantastic, professional and compassionate. I cannot thank them enough.

Broke wrist on Thursday, took 3.5 hours to leave after 2 scans and partial cast with promise of operation in next few days. After 5 days called in for another scan at 7.45am after which pushed between 6 different departments and at no stage did and actual nurse or doctor attend plus no pain medication administered. Left hospital after 3 hours with more pain only to find pharmacy medication had been posted not marked for collection. Would have got better care at a vets!

The worst ante natal services and emergency ever, If you are going there just expect a good 4 or 5 hours waiting, we went there at least 4 times and never waited less than 4 hours. Today, some midwife just approached us shouting through the corridor that our daughter was not allowed there, without any common sense or flexibility for mothers that go on emergency and dont have anyone to leave the kids. Thankfully I was there and just walked out with our daughter, the question is about other mothers that don't have anyone to leave the kids with after school. If you go there badly you definitely will leave even worst.

I had surgery yesterday at the Alan Cummins Day Surgery Unit. I want to thank every member of staff for their outstanding, friendly, efficient and professional care. This is my second recent operation here and the same complements apply to both occasions. They all go the extra mile to reassure, calm and give the impression that they have time for your care, concerns and questions. Thank you to all the team.

My daughter badly broke her tibia and fibula at a trampoline park. The hospital have been nothing short of excellent... every medical professional that has helped her are deeply committed, passionate, sensitive and kind. I am so thankful for their care for her. We had to stay in a week after she had her surgery... from the nurses, doctors, orthopaedic specialists, students, ancillary staff, porters, xray team, the ladies who did her cast, the physio and occupational therapist. I am indebted to you. Thank you so much.

Had a trip to A&E this week following a chronic knee condition. Although I waited around 3/4 hours I was seen by a wonderful A&E doctor. Absolutely fantastic, put my mind at ease and even made me laugh! Helped deal with the problem very quickly and get the right referrals! Came away extremely impressed so thank you Anne!

I like this hospital, sadly I only come here due to emergencies, but I know from first hand experience that if you stay in you will not be horrified by the food or the members of staff. Today's today chicken smelled really nice 👍🏽👍🏽 Apart from a temporary closure of half of the parking spaces, due to a bigger two floor parking being built, everything else has gone smoothly. I have been coming to the hospital for a few days now, and as already mentioned, the parking is the only thing that I really don't like. Hopefully they finish it soon.

A massive thank you to this hospital. Within 30 minutes of being there, a gyno saw me, took all the tests required. After an hour, i received all the treatments necessary. Thank you to the ladies at the ante natal department, who helped me ALOT and were so sweet and caring. It's people like you that make a world of difference. Despite being in the wrong department, they got me help and made sure I was taken care of. So grateful to you all.

A big thank you to Midwife Andrea who cared for me on the postnatal ward 11 weeks ago following my sons birth. Your kindness and compassion healed me following the complex birth and postnatal period with my daughter 5 years ago at PRUH. I did not have a good experience and was hesitant to deliver here again. I cannot thank you enough for listening to me and supporting me. I have managed to avoid feeling anxious this time and I have no doubt your kindness played a lot in that. Also, a big thankyou to the student midwife who was working with you. She was amazing too and I left feeling on cloud 9. My son is doing so well and I will try to drop a card in one day.

Although my full waiting time came to 10 hours the hospital was very busy so it was understandable. The staff in a and e were brilliant and to just name one Elin who was the sweetest kindest lady who looked after me between her and the doctor I saw name I didn't catch it was clear I was in good hands. Thank you for caring <3

I had my son at PRU and could not recommend them more. Really attentive, caring staff. We stayed for 4 nights due to feeding issues, and every single person we came into contact with the hospital was amazing (in their own way!). Only thing I’d recommend is light pjs and flip flops as it’s hot!

Visiting a family member, staff very polite , helpful and informative. It was clean and tidy. Facilities for meals and refreshments are good, easy access but parking can be a problem. Payment for parking by cash or phone app(admin costs applied).

Thank you to all of the staff here who looked after my partner Felipe over the past week with a broken leg. It's a very busy hospital and the nurses, doctors and all the staff here are working so hard caring for all their patients. We appreciate everything that you do.

Been admitted to the CDU 3 times in the past month due to on going heath issues very attentive, always given a bed not chair very quick to help with food / juice / water. Nurses always available- the a&e that I have to go through every time is always busier but still seen within the hour most times ! Best hospital I’ve had to go to

I had to visit the PRUH because of DVT in my left leg. All the staff went beyond their brief and because of their fantastic help they also discovered that I had blood clots on both lungs and also bowel cancer. I can honestly say that if the staff hadn't gone that extra mile to help me none of the other issues would have been discovered. They operated quickly and had to remove part of my bowel which the did using keyhole surgery, a miracle as far as I'm concerned and I have nothing but praise for all of the consultants nurses and surgeons who all were wonderful and supportive. I cannot thank them enough, they saved my life !!! 5 stars is not enough really they deserve 10 stars for going above and beyond what they are paid for. James Munro

After finally trying to get hold of Early Pregnancy Unit, I was greeted by a not so friendly staff member who also hung up on me on the phone. Working for the NHS myself, I get it that NHS staff are busy. But not having good telephone manners is not on and trying to put blame on others for pointing someone in your department (GP to be exact) is unprofessional. Not a good experience for a first time mum.

My 93 year old mother was blue lighted in with breathing difficulties a week ago. After a thorough assessment in a&e, she was moved onto a ward so she could be further assessed and given the appropriate treatment before going back home. Unfortunately, a couple of days ago while I was visiting, her eyes suddenly started rolling and I immediately knew something was not right. I screamed in panic, doctors arrived from all sides, the alarm was blaring, it was truly traumatic. They were with her for what seemed like ages. My mother had unexpectedly suffered a thrombosis and the outlook was bleak. The priest was called, the family came and we expected the worst. The next morning she miraculously regained consciousness and has been slowly getting better. We still have a way to go and there are no guarantees but without any doubt whatsoever, the doctors and nurses that night saved her life. If she’d been anywhere else it would have been a different outcome. So from the bottom of my heart, I have nothing but total praise and thanks for the staff, for what they did for my mother and are still doing. I couldn’t have asked for more.

I'd rate this hospital 0 out of 5 stars, I took my 63 year old mother in for what was considered an 'emergency' which took over 10+ hours to only partially resolve, staff lied about losing her blood results, she was sent here via another hospital only for the staff to have no knowledge of her issues, we had to ring up the other hospital to ask them to send the documents again! Shocking service by all from admin to Dr's! Avoid this hospital at all costs if you can!

Who ever working in A&E department in PRUH no one care about the job, no one taking any responsibility there, very lazy, no communication, no emergency priority. Had to wait more than 9 hours in PRUH A&E department but no one see a pregnant woman for her problem referred by Gp. It’s called emergency!!! No cares for little children, pregnant women or anyone go there. Whoever working there just useless made us really disappointed. It’s not Great Britain service!!! We request to admin department should check their work and take actions against their employees activities.
