What a beautiful place to have a meal, very pretty atmosphere with the contrast of bare bricks and exposed wooden beams. We were welcomed without registration, restaurant was quite busy. Service was one of the best in comparison to the other places I have visited. Our host was Lucy, she truly made the whole experience great, very attentive and proffesional. And the steaks were cooked to perfection 🥰 would love to come back again. There is a garden next to it for a nice stroll before or after the meal 🌷🌼🌺

A great place for a family dinner and a Birthday celebration. The starters were delicious - the baked cheddar mushrooms, salt and pepper calamari and the spiced aubergine boa buns were the items I tried and were very tasty. I want to give a particular shout to the halloumi fries. I would highly recommend them - very crispy. For the mains, they were also great. Chips were flavoursome and the camembert mash was smooth and buttery. My only issue was that mine and another family members steak cooking levels were mixed up. I requested for a 12oz MEDIUM WELL steak and the other member requested a 16oz MEDIUM RARE steak however, I got a 12oz medium rare and the other member got a 16oz medium well. Since it was too rare for me we did have to swap. But the steak was tender and the peppercorn sauce complimented it perfectly. The first waitress that served us was OK, she seemed quite annoyed, but then they got changed (I assumed due to an incident that occurred with a window getting smashed due to the extreme winds yesterday) and the second waitress which I didn't catch the name of was much more welcoming and had excellent customer service skills! Other than that, I have no complaints about this restaurant. The area is very beautiful with a lovely garden right next to the restaurant to stroll in. The parking area is massive so no issues there.

Excellent food and place to share with family. I recommend as starters Nachos House, Ribeye Steak, baby potatoes, diane souse, really delicious... The staff is very friendly!!!

Second time I've been here and my experience then was the same as the second attempt - pleasant and satisfying. Booked a table the day before and came right on time and was ushered straigh to our table, food came reasonably quick and no issues with the service or quality of food. Ample parking spaces outside so no issues there, also a walking distance to the bus stop if one doesn't drive. Overall will recommend as a place for a couple, might be too formal for kids and there is a dress code so beware.

Initial drinks service was a little slow, but other than that, all very good. Steak was a very good size and cooked well. Particularly recommended the mac & cheese as a side. Good value for money overall and shout out to our server Jacqui who was cheerful and helpful throughout the meal - even joining in with singing Happy Birthday!

Lovely food, especially our main courses! Our server was very helpful and attentive also very friendly!! Think her name was Lily? Massive credit to your team!! :) Only thing we both had a comment about was the dress code, everyone around us including us are all wearing very nice outfits but then one table in our area came in in tracksuit shorts and tracksuit jumpers. We had lots of texts explaining how we wouldn’t be allowed in that dress attire, has this changed? Was very noticeable. Couldn’t fault anything else though!

The starter was mozzarella & tomato bushetta was nice could have done with being warmer than it was but the flavours were good. Main course was surf & turf with triple cooked chips, I ordered the steak to be cooked medium but some of it was rare was not hot & the butter did not melt due to this the triple cooked chips were not worth the extra cost could have cooked crisper ones in my oven & the lobster tail was lovely but only the size if a king prawn. Is it worth the money no there are better places out there that are cheaper with taster food & better value for money with less conditions.

If I could rate 10 stars, I would and that's mainly because of our server, Catherine. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and couldn't be more helpful. We took my 94 year old Grandmother for lunch and was joined by my auntie who was celebrating her birthday. Catherine noticed this and arranged a lovely birthday dessert for her. The whole afternoon was perfect. The restaurant is stunning and the food was incredible. We will definitely be back.

4 of us came here on a Sunday early evening for dinner. The place is beautifully decorated and has a warm, cosy, traditional vibe with a hint of decadence. It's a huge space divided into several rooms. Being famous for its steak, my friends ordered The Steak Experience - it comes with a steak of your choice, salad, fries and an onion loaf. You choose your steak, the sauce for your steak and which dressing to go on your salad. Prices range from £16.95 to £37.50 (the surf and turf). They all loved it, especially the onion loaf! I ordered the Battered Cod which came with chips, tartare sauce and minted crushed peas £14.25. Everything was really lovely and a huge portion size. The Banoffee Pie was way too sweet for me, as it was sitting in a pool of caramel sauce but the pie itself was delicious. We had a toddler with us and the staff were so kind and accommodating, which made the whole experience more relaxing. Would definitely come here again as there's lots more on the menu I'd like to try!

Always enjoy coming here, whether as a family or a couple. It's not cheap, but it's generally worth it. They sometimes have some lovely chocolate cocktails, which go down a treat 😋 🍹 The fillet steak is always tasty., whilst their ribeye can be hit and miss as there have been times when it was way too fatty and did not have much meat at all. Love the onion loaf, as long as it's crispy and not too soggy as it can then be too greasy. The desserts are lovely and the mini ones are the perfect size (imo). I really like the lettuce wedge and sauces. Simple yet so tasty and fresh. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Nice welcome and staff generally helpful and professional. Very efficient service. Food was better than we expected. We like that there is no music blaring throughout the restaurant The toilet needed attention

Beautiful restaurant with really nicely lighting and layout, and our waitress was exceptional. Good banter and very attentive. The food is good, nothing special, but you know what you’re getting and paying for here so net our expectstions. Somethings we ordered were missing due to stock issues but we were absolutely stuff and didn’t really care. She gave us tons of options for replacements and even took a round of drinks off the bill without us asking. We really enjoyed our visit here.

Two steaks out of four sent back, very over-cooked having been left under the hot plate unattended for about ten mins. Chefs had called service in vain several times while 3/4 waitresses chatted by the restaurant entrance. I know this to be true because I was chasing round the restaurant after my three year old as we waited. When I reluctantly sent the steaks back and complained about them having been left to over-cook the waitress couldn’t wait to get away although I did receive a cursory apology. Replacement ribeye, requested medium, was very undercooked (rare - see photo) but I turned down the offer of a replacement because everybody else at the table was almost finished. They did not charge service but it was the usual story, when you complain, the atmosphere turns frosty. That’s why people don’t complain. Disappointing because it’s a lovely setting and, prior to sending back the steaks, the service was warm and friendly.

Absolutely disgusted at the manager Sherice! We had a booking today 2:15 and was refused entry, my partner had a very expensive ‘off white’ outfit on. However we were turned away, EVEN THOUGH the so called RUDE MANAGER allowed people through who were wearing joggers!! I saw many people in there with trainers and jogging bottoms! I am disgusted by her attitude, we always eat here! What a rude unprofessional person!! I even said how discriminating this was, to refuse our entry but she let others who was wearing casual wear. That manager needs to be sacked. When I clearly pointed out others wearing joggers, she didn’t like that I was right. what a disgrace to such a lovely Restaurant! We will NOT BE COMING BACK AGAIN! I am disgusted

Went to M&C Bexley with a party of five (and a 3 month old baby in a pram) for my birthday dinner. Never been to a M&C before but had been to the Jacobean Barn under previous guises and throughly enjoyed previous meals. I would have to say that I had no issues with the staff; very polite, attentive and accommodating for the pram. In general, we had no issues with the food order (items ordered were available although they had to check as our waitress thought the Diane sauce was off the menu; which it wasn't). A definite plus was they provided a cute decoration for my dessert (a small one with a hot bevearge which I thought was a good idea). Only down on the evening was the garlic mushrooms. They were not washed before being cooked and, unfortunately, I got a clump of dirt in my mouth. We brought this to the attention of the Assistant Manager who was very apologetic and said he would bring this to the attention of the Kitchen Manager. He said he would remove the garlic mushrooms from our bill and also included a deduction from our bill. If I was to make a suggestion, it would be to add something basic to the menu for the more fussy eater (I had one in my party). Maybe something like a sausage, mash, vegetable set dinner. The food in general was very tasty and a big thumbs up from me for the camembert mash. Despite the dirty garlic mushrooms, I would go again.

I have visited Miller and Carter Bexley numerous of times and it never disappoints. I always get a steak so can't comment on the other mains. The steak is always cooked as requested and good value for money as it comes with a lettuce wedge, sauce, a piece of onion loaf and fries. One of the best thing about this restaurant is the service. Everyone is so friendly. The restaurant does get busy, especially on Friday nights and the weekends so definitely book if you can.

The food was great, there was a bit of a wait for mains but our server apologised as the restaurant was very busy which was absolutely fine. A couple of our party had lukewarm chips, and our server replaced them immediately which was much appreciated. Our server Charlie was incredibly friendly and helpful and was just brilliant during our visit.

I’ve been here on quite a few occasions now but after my experience on Christmas Eve I wanted to take the time to leave a review as it was the best it’s ever been. It started from the minute we arrived, we were greeted warmly, taken to our table and told our server Libby would be over shortly. Libby arrived and honestly made our Christmas Eve, she was polite, friendly and chatty but still very efficient. Our food was good but honestly with service like that I don’t think it would have mattered if it wasn’t. Couldn’t fault anything and will definitely be returning.

Our food came out cold! 2 adults dishes £40 each and 2 children’s dinners! The dipping sauce was cold, the onion was cold, the chips was cold, everything was cold and ruined our experience and family night out together. We were gifted a £100 voucher from my Nan and grandad to use at the restaurant and I am dreading telling them about our experience as they wanted us to enjoy it. Even the pint of beer was flat!

We had a great lunch for our wedding anniversary today. The food was delicious as always and the steaks were cooked to perfection. I would recommend having the fillet mignon and chocolate brownie as a desert as we are always satisfied with them. Our waitress Katy was very attentive and kind to us, and surprised us with a lovely anniversary desert plate. We will definitely be back.

The entrance notifies customers with a welcome to ensure they are dressed appropriately. This sets the tone to expect fine dining. The front of the house provides a warm welcome as you are seated at your table. The decor is dark wood with an intimate setting. The carpet feels out of place and the lack of air conditioning can make the place very warm on a hot day. You are given a personal server that interchanges with the other staff. The customer service is excellent and you feel cared for in your dining. The drink specials provide great cocktails on a 2 for £14 offer. The steak is cooked well and flavoursome. The sides provided are a good accompaniment, but the fries are a surprising let-down. The fries were tired looking and not well-seasoned. The biscuit torte for dessert was devilishly good. The prices are reasonable. Overall it is a wonderful dining experience that needs a few tweaks to be five-star.

We pre booked, it wasnt busy. A serviette was missing from our table, it took a while for our drinks to arrive. Starters were lovely, but the Avocado and prawn salad had 3 very small pieces of Avocado in one-and None in the other!!! The baked camenbert sharer could do with more bread-we weren't even asked if we would like more!!! We weren't asked if we'd like any more drinks either! There weren't finger bowls provided for the sticky bbq ribs. The salmon was good, but some of the potatoes were hard 🤔 and certainly not worth the money 😔 Overall 3½/5

My wife order a beef file, it came cooked as she order, but the piece was looking more as a sirloin rather than a file. They shoud review the kids menu as well, not the young menu. We came with a 5 year kid and the choice for her was not much. Most options were from the main menu,( 30 day aged ribeye for a kid). Apart off that nice atmosphere, with professional service. Definitely we will come back and recommend. Very nice!!!

We went to Carter and Miller on our wedding anniversary. This was the first time we have visited Carter and Miller and I have to say I was quite impressed the starter we had was Pork Belly Bao Bun and Chedder cheese with mushrooms and for the main course we choose the sharing dish - Butchers block which was jam packed with various steaks and ribs, the main also came with with side salads and various sides that you can choose from….. we were beyond full when we left the restaurant! We will definitely visit again for another meal in the future

Cannot find a single fault with our visit. The food was top notch, the service even better. I booked online and requested a highchair at the table. We were greeted by a very polite young man who showed us to our table where a highchair ready and waiting. Its a very small thing, but paying attention to the small details in booking requests set the tone for the evening. Instead of the awkward holding the baby moment until a highchair arrived, we were able to seat and settle the baby straight away. Plenty of time given to peruse the menu while still being attentive with drinks. A lot of small talk with our older child too without being intrusive. Moving onto the food. It was spot on. We booked an early dinner sitting due to having a baby with us, so only opted for 2 courses (mains and desert). The himalayan salt ribeye was exquisite, truely remarkable. Highly recommended. Haven't been here for a while. Used to be regulars here before M&C took over the site. Had a bad experience with M&C in Lakeside a while back which tarnished my view of them as a company. Based on today's experience I will be back like a shot. A special shout our to our waitress/server Donna, a true gem who made out experience a very enjoyable and memorable one

Great table, fabulous food and service. A menu for all tastes very hard to fault. A little pricey but for what you get we were pleased. Highly recommended we will definitely be going back.
