Food is fantastic! I recommend the French onion soup 1000% excellent. We've been travelling in many countries and this is one of the best places. Worth the price (10,000 yen between 2 people, 2 soups, 2mains, 4 drinks) You might need a reservation in advance because the place can be full regularly.

I give my opinion as a Frenchman. Good restaurant despite being expensive, however I tried the paté de campagne and it does not come with bread like in France, so I had to pay even more to be able to eat it with bread. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Best steak frites I’ve ever had. The butter that they put on top of it was 🤌🏻 I could tell the young guys working there took pride in their work. Definitely recommend.

A discovery! French style old fashioned bistro mainly serving Lyon cuisine! Very good value. Do not linger on ground floor as the bistro is in the barement!

I found it only OK and a little $$$ for value. Nice people and indeed you feel like it's a classic Parisian cafe. Nothing special seating in basement. The steak frites were served on a tiny plate and the usual Japanese attention to presentation was missing (butter was tasty but nearly frozen solid). My companion's chicken appeared 20 minutes later (after I'd finished the steak)., it was excellent though. Kacto is 2 doors day, a little cheaper and a much nicer experience IMHO.

Well this is a great spot if you want something french in Kyoto. It is a real brasserie vibe. The food is quite good, and authentic. Loved the vibe too, and the whole atmosphere. Service was of course impeccable. Even their umeshu is nice. You’re bound to find foreigners in here too, if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s a great place really, please don’t ruin it!

We went inside as we were craving for something sweet and mousse au chocolat ans crème caramel was advertised on the window. The mousse was below average with too much alcohol in and I have eaten a better crème caramel from a supermarket.. Service was ok, but basic. Music was quite low, with people's voices covering it fully, thus losing any ambiance the place seems to have from the outside.

Great Veg burger! Dropped by ONZE today. The owner was away but staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s a French bistro so not much vegetarian food on the menu, but when I asked the waiter if they could do a veg burger with blue cheese instead of beef the chief popped around the corner (I was sitting at the counter) and said sure. Already my kind of place! He then check what ingredients were okay for me and proceeded to make an amazing veg burger with blue and cheddar cheese, egg, kale, and sauce (it is a French place). Was absolutely great! Shout out to Tomo the owner. You can always tell a well run place when the staff are happy and polite even if the owner is away!

My only complaint is that we did not try more dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious and the customer service was wonderful. We made reservations before going, they were busy around dinner time.

Really enjoyed french onion soup and steak frites. Bustling atmosphere with busy but friendly staff. I’d recommend booking the day before.

My review for this place would be a 5star but there’s always room for improvement. The food is delicious and the service really good. The price is according and the atmosphere really nice. There was even a huge table of French people really enjoying their meal and that really meant a lot for me that I’m not French lol. I’ve been there like 4 times now and it never disappoints. Keep up the good work! ✨
