This
restaurant
in
Sanjo
Kiyamachi
does
not
allow
first-time
customers,
and
only
accepts
three
groups
a
day.
Only
one
group
is
allowed
to
stay
overnight
at
this
restaurant
during
the
coronavirus
pandemic,
making
it
the
safest
place
to
dine.
This
time
I
used
it
for
my
mother's
birthday
celebration.
From
the
entrance
to
the
restaurant,
you
will
be
entertained
by
a
fantastical
space,
and
when
you
enter
the
entrance,
you
will
be
greeted
by
the
beautiful
kimono
and
the
pleasant
scent
of
incense,
which
will
make
you
feel
calm.
Mr.
Nakai
told
us
that
this
was
Mizuzan
Takeichi's
regular
residence
during
his
stay
in
Kyoto,
and
he
showed
us
the
remains
of
a
hidden
staircase
and
calligraphy
by
Ryoma
Sakamoto,
Yukichi
Fukuzawa,
and
Shinsaku
Takasugi.
The
content
of
the
dishes
was
a
little
different
from
the
usual
Japanese
restaurant
courses,
and
I
was
able
to
forget
the
time
and
enjoy
the
traditional
yet
innovative
and
playful
dishes.
The
way
the
eel
was
grilled
was
such
that
the
skin
was
crispy
and
you
could
enjoy
the
texture,
and
the
contrast
with
the
softness
of
the
eel
meat
was
exquisite.
I
made
a
reservation
and
secured
a
seat
on
the
second
floor
overlooking
the
Kamogawa
River,
and
the
view
was
great
and
I
was
able
to
really
relax.
I
would
like
to
come
and
stay
the
next
time.
