Fantastic views of not just the city and bay, but the Olympic ski slopes as well! You do pass through a small neighborhood uphill after leaving the train platform, and the hills are fairly steep. Well worth it for the view though

Beautiful viewpoint near Holmenkollen. It is just 20 minut walk from the TBane. However, it is uphill and during the winter it is all covered in ice, so I recommend taking hiking shoes or attaching spikes to your normal shoes. I didn't know about it and went there in normal winter shoes, but it took som time 😅

I am pretty lucky to live in the area where is close to this viewpoint. It's a very popular short hike from Vettakollen station with a great view of Oslo. You will see a lot of sporty people, local hikers, tourists and cute doggos. If you wanna have pizza with a view, there is a pizzeria nearby 🍕 (But if you wanna stay fit, then forget about it 😜) There are many other hiking trails from here as well. Sometimes you can spot wild animals which I love about this area. Overall, a great spot if you wanna have a quick getaway from the city 😊

Great after work lung burner when running. Lots of people hike this trail on any given day but the view of the Holmenkollen ski jumps and the Oslo fjord are pretty nice for edge of the city. Get some nice forest vibes for sure

For the first time hikers you should start here. It’s easy and very nice view at the top. You can sit to the stone and take photo . And beside of that this is very quick location you just take a T Bane (Metro )

Great viewpoint over Oslo! Very easy walk from Sognsvann, and a short but steep walk from Vettakollen Stasjon. Especially nice in the evening.

The view is very spectacular, especially on a sunny day: one can see the entire city of Oslo. However, keep in mind that the road to this viewpoint might be challenging for elder people as it takes roughly 20 minutes (1.2 km) uphill from the metro station.

Is one of the best viewpoints in Oslo, the best way to go there is taking the t-bane line 1 to Vettakollen and the walk like 20min following the DNT signs. Once you're there you will have an amazing view of Oslo.

There is easy hike for about 30 mins to get to the view point. There are some amazing view of Oslo city and its surroundings, different perspective. I personally felt oslo should stop expanding laterally...you can see buildings taking over the green areas.

Easy accessible from Sognsvann (T-bane to Sognsvann), a 2-3 hour round-trip including nice break on the top. Labelled hiking paths. Splendid view over Oslo and the fjord 🙌🏽.

Stunning views, but a steep hike needed to earn them.

This is a MUST! If you are new to Oslo you definitely need to do that hike since it is quite short (approx. 45 mins long) and the viewpoint is just worth it. Can you find your residence? You can start at Sognsvann or the Vettakollen metro station.

Hike was slightly challenging, especially being a city person. However, I throughly enjoyed the whole process getting to the top with the super good view. I’m also amazed to see some people running up to the viewpoint and down again. Some hikers were also having a picnic at the top. 10/10 would recommend this hike.

What an Amazing View point for Panoramic views of Oslo and the Fjords. It is a bit narrow and rocky path with no signs as there are multiple ways and they all take you to beautiful view points. This is like a favorite Camping site for lot of tourists as the view is awesome during sunset and sunrise. If you are catching a train to the nearby station be aware of the timings as the walk takes sometime due to hard path.

This viewpoint ist really nice! The way up is a bit hard but it's just about 1 km from the parking spot so it's totally worth it going up there and enjoy the big panoramic view over Oslo and the Fjord. You can also see the big ski jumps next to you.
